Welcome to the Temple Rock 2016! Temple Rock is a special night where the TBE community comes together for a wonderful evening. This year, we are thrilled to be singing and dancing to soulful R&B as Wayne Holmes brings his unique interpretation of the music of Ray Charles. The Temple Rock Committee works hard to make sure that this is a fabulous night for everyone. Evenings like this remind us what a special place TBE is and how fortunate we are to be members of such a wonderful institution. We would be remiss if we did not remind you that Temple Rock also is TBE’s most important annual fundraiser after the Annual Appeal. Please take active part in both the live and silent auctions – not only do you walk away with fabulous items, but every dollar goes directly to TBE. Please spend generously. There is something for everyone, from sports and theater tickets to hotel and vacation packages, from jewelry and clothing to tastings and catered dinners in your home, as well as gift certificates for some of the top restaurants in Fairfield County and beyond. Thanks to all of you who contributed to and solicited items for this year’s auction! Finally, our special thanks to our Temple Rock Patrons and Temple Rock Friends, who have scored yet another touchdown for TBE. We are very fortunate to have so many generous people at Temple Beth El. Again, thanks to everyone for coming to this year’s Temple Rock. Enjoy!

Ray Charles Tribute Show February 6 Temple Beth El

Don’t be left out! The best evening, ever!

A tribute show in honor of the great Ray Charles, by Wayne Holmes is a foot-tapping delight that will have audiences dancing at Temple Rock on February 6. Ray Charles has passed, but his legend is alive and well. This show sends such a charge that people in their 50s, 60s and even their 80s got out of their seats to enjoy it. A concert of rock, blues and gospel music that sounds like Charles himself is up on stage. Holmes fills the big shoes of Ray Charles, complete with dark glasses, an ocean-wide grin and a mastery of Charles‟ signature body language. And while he doesn‟t always sound like the legend - who could? - he gives life to the superstar‟s persona, especially during the program that will feature sing-along favorites such as “Hit The Road, Jack,” “Bye Bye Love,” “I Got A Woman,” “Night Time Is The Right Time,” “Unchain My Heart,” “Georgia On My Mind,” “You Are My Sunshine” and many others. This show will be at B.B. King Club in NYC, but you can see it in Stamford at Temple Rock!

We are thrilled to introduce the NEWWWWWWW auctioneer at Temple Rock...

We are thrilled to have a celebrity auctioneer at Temple Rock the year: Mr. Howard Finkel, aka “Finkus Maximus,” the only WWE personality to have appeared on-camera at every Wrestle Mania event. For parts of five decades, the likes of a Hulk Hogan and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin were instantly regaled as WWE Champions because Howard Finkel‟s resonance and timbre made it so. His illustrious career in and around the ring culminated with his 2009 induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Thank you, Howard Finkel, our celebrity auctioneer.

Included are the following: 2007 Stone Cellars California Chardonnay 2010 The Hess Collection „Hess Select‟ Chardonnay 2010 Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico Riserva, Italy 2012 Joel Gott Wines 815 Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Catena „Alamos‟ Selección, Argentina 2013 Duckhorns Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Ninety + Cellars Pinot Noir 2014 Gouguenheim Valle Escondido Mendoza, Argentina 2014 Nicole & Friends Sauvignon Blanc Donor: Temple Rock Committee value: $150 opening bid: $50 From our neighbors in Pound Ridge, two delightful wines: Principiano Barolo Serralunga 2004 From the legendary 2004 Barolo vintage Wine Advocate: Principiano‟s 2004 Barolo Serralunga is surprisingly soft and ethereal for a wine from this village in 2004. Medium in body, it reveals macerated cherries, smoke, earthiness and licorice, with excellent length on the palate. Chateau St. Georges Pomerol 2006 Wine Advocate: Another spectacular offering from young perfectionist Jean-Philippe Janouiex, this 2006 Pomerol is a blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet. A stunningly dense plum purple color offers up notes of scorched earth, blackberries, plums, sweet cherries, truffles, and chocolate. Full-bodied with considerable finesse, supple tannins, and a grilled meat-like character, this fleshy, full, opulent wine‟s huge fruit and glycerin admirably cover its substantial tannins. This blockbuster Pomerol can be consumed between 2010-2025. Donor: The Wine Connection value: $110 opening bid: $40
