Washington Drive and Thomas J. Lahey Welcome New Students The halls of Washington Drive Primary School and Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School in the Harborfields school district were bustling with excitement as incoming kindergarten and third-grade students toured the schools Aug. 25. Soon-to-be kindergartners and their parents completed a health screening before being welcomed into the building by Washington Drive Principal Kathryn McNally, who
distributed welcome folders and kindergartenthemed books to each attendee. Teaching assistant Mary Storm then led small groups through the school, noting new safety precautions in hallways and classrooms. On their way out, students signed a poster that read, “We Can Do Hard Things,” an encouraging note to remind the school community of their ability to overcome adversity.

“Where BIG Dreams Begin Little” 38th Anniversary
Students and parents entering Thomas J. Lahey were similarly greeted by Principal Mary Williams and Assistant Principal Andrea Horowitz, who directed visitors toward the school’s third-grade wing. Teachers and staff greeted the newcomers and answered questions regarding classroom layout, as well as new health and safety procedures.
