AUTOMOBILE MUSEUMS ARE FOR CAR FANS, COLLECTORS, ENTHUSIASTS, AND FOR FAMILIES. “THEY SPEAK TO IMAGINATION,” SAYS KEN GROSS, A FORMER MUSEUM DIRECTOR WHO NOW CURATES AUTO EXHIBITS AT THE FINE ARTS MUSEUM. AS TIME GOES BY, MORE AND MORE MUSEUMS DEDICATED TO CLASSIC CARS OF YESTERYEAR ARE OPENING. MANY OF THE OLD CLASSICS COME TO LIFE ONCE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS PASS AWAY. SOME ARE NOT-FOR-PROFIT WHILE OTHERS ARE RAN AS A PRIVATE BUSINESS.
ALMOST ALL MUSEUMS ARE INTENDED FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. THE GOAL IS TO HAVE EXHIBITS FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY NO MATTER HOW YOUNG OR OLD YOU ARE. DESIGNING A MUSEUM WITH THIS IDEA IN MIND ALLOWS FOR MORE VISITORS TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE SPACE, AS WELL AS, BRING IN MORE REVENUE FOR THE MUSEUM.

statements PROBLEM STATEMENT: THE LEGACY OF CARROLL SHELBY LACKS REPRESENTATION IN THE HENRY FORD MUSEUM IN DEARBORN, MICHIGAN. CONSIDERING HOW IMPORTANT SHELBY IS TO FORD FOR BEING ONE OF THEIR MOST ICONIC RACERS, THE FACE OF INTERNATIONAL RACING AND A CAR DESIGNER. IT ONLY SEEMS FAIR TO GIVE CARROLL SHELBY THE RECOGNITION HE DESERVES SO PEOPLE CAN LEARN AND UNDERSTAND THE TRUE LEGACY THAT HE LEFT TO THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY WITH HIS ICONIC SPORTS CAR THAT HAS THRIVED OVER ITS 50+ YEAR HISTORY.
CONCEPT STATEMENT: THE FEELING OF FREEDOM, POWER, AND SPEED BEHIND THE WHEEL OF ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC AMERICAN SPORTS CAR CREATES PURE SATISFACTION. ALL YOUR WORRIES SEEM TO DISAPPEAR THE SECOND YOU TURN THE KEY AND HEAR THE SEXY SOUND OF THE ENGINE TURNING AS YOU SPEED OUT ONTO THE NEVER-ENDING ROAD OF FREEDOM. THIS IS THE FEELING YOU WITNESS WHILE CRUISING AROUND A ONEOF-A-KIND TRIP THROUGH THE LIFE OF CARROLL SHELBY AND THE HISTORY OF FORD MUSTANGS.
