PROBLEM STATEMENT The Steinberg Skating Rink facility is a popular skating venue in St. Louis but it has become outdated. The current building was completed in 1957, and although it serves its purpose, there have been no major additions or renovations over the years. The facility lacks visual appeal, a universal space specifically for special events, and an off-season purpose. Goals:

To include special event space (upstairs above rink facility) Aesthetically pleasing (contextual deign) Create an experience Added support for rink (with restaurant)

The rink is open for ice-skating in the winter Projected to host outdoor music, farmer’s markets in the summer
