Being caught off guard in the case of a natural disaster or sudden power or water outage may not only be inconvenient, but it also may be devastating and costly. Being properly prepared for the whatif’s may come in handy and be potentially life-saving in the case of an emergency. Here are some must-haves for your home: ■■Flashlight and batteries. ■■Tarps. Tarps come in different strengths and sizes and can be used for various applications. ■■At least four jugs of water. In the case of a power outage, there will come a point when toilets will no longer be able to flush and water will drain from faucets. ■■More than one source of communication.
