State of the County and Cities Luncheon: Feb. 16
T
he annual State of the County and Cities luncheon will be hosted by the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce on Feb.16 from 11:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Doyle Convention Center in Texas City. Citizens who attend
will hear directly from local elected officials about current news and information pertaining to the region. Enjoy networking with local community leaders and a delicious catered lunch. Speakers will include County CommissionerPrecinct 2 Joe Giusti,
Texas City Mayor Dedrick Johnson and La Marque Mayor Keith Bell. Reserved table seating for up to 8 guests is $250, and individual tickets are $25 for Chamber members and $30 for non-member guests. Sponsorship opportunities are available that provide valuable

he YP networking group was created to engage young workers in Texas City, La Marque and surrounding areas by providing opportunities to make business connections and to become better acquainted with the Texas City–La Marque Chamber of Commerce and the value of community involvement. Young Professionals of the Mainland, as it’s known, meets for happy hours, social outings and community service activities. Some months feature local VIPs at hosted luncheons where you can meet new mentors. YP of the Mainland is not only about creating career paths for success down the road but also to open leadership opportunities for today. As a result, the young professionals who attend gain
valuable insights, connections and a competitive edge in the local workforce. YP’s first event took place Feb. 10 at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and networking. The topic of the morning was “10 Steps to Financial Success” presented by AMOCO Federal Credit Union. Women in Business is ready for a powerful year
Introducing the 2022 Leadership Class

he chamber’s Women in Business (WIB) networking group will have its first gathering of the year Feb. 24. It will be hosted in the Chamber Conference Room starting at 11:30 a.m. A delicious lunch will be served and every woman will get to share an update from her business or organization. The 2022 Chair of the WIB committee is Mandie McMillan Crowder of RE/MAX Coastal. Along with 2021 Chair Caytlyn Stanley of Hospitality Health ER, a great year of networking events has been planned. The theme for this meeting is “Powerful Women Invest in Themselves.” Speakers will talk about investment opportunities that all women should be aware of including real estate and the stock market.

eadership Mainland is a prestigious program offered by the chamber with a long history in the community. Several hundred local business people have participated and “graduated” from the yearlong program. Find full details on the chamber website under “Resources” and “News.” The first session for this year’s group is a Team-Building Session that will be hosted at The Marquee at Mainland City Centre. In March,

ollege of the Mainland hosted the first “Night on the Town” after-hours mixer of 2022 Jan. 26. A great crowd enjoyed the evening, including U.S. Rep Randy Weber, his wife Brenda and many new and long-time chamber members. lear Life Media is a production company based in La Marque since 2020. It specializes in video production, storytelling, live-streaming, graphics, audio and podcasting. It’s a service-minded organization that strives to spread positivity and community. Clear Life Media operates out of the campus of Abundant Life Christian Center. They work closely with KHEA Radio, 99.5FM to help distribute client’s content throughout the
community. Clear Life Media takes pride in providing high quality, professional video to all clients. They have provided video/ production services to all cities inside of Galveston County including the “Shine on La Marque” video series with the La Marque Economic Development Corporation. During the pandemic, Clear Life Media provided live streaming services to numerous non-profit organizations that couldn’t hold in-per-
son galas and helped them raise more than $1 million. Clear Life Media recently added a sub-station called Clear Life Combat to focus on local combat sports, such as Mixed Martial Arts.
