Annual Membership Gala to take place March 1 T
he Chamber’s annual Membership Gala always is a popular event to celebrate the business community and achievements of dedicated volunteers. This year, the theme is “Escape to Margaritaville.” The evening will be filled with excitement, delicious treats, an exquisite dinner and captivating music that will transport the guest to a picturesque tropical oasis. DATE CHANGE! The banquet will be held Friday, March 1 at the Doyle Convention Center in Texas City. The gala is a popular event with an average attendance of 400 or more guests. The attire is business formal/ cocktail/Resort Chic. This year’s festivities will mark 55 years of honoring and awarding local businesses in the
community. Join in this festive evening as the following awards are presented: • 2023 Citizen of the Year • Jimmy Hayley Community Service Award • Small Business of the Year • Large Business of the Year The Chamber Gala is a favorite event of the year, and seating is expected to sell out. Tickets can be purchased either in person at the Chamber at 9702 E.F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City, or online at www.TCLMchamber.com. Sponsorship opportunities are available. These include the Entertainment Sponsor for $4,000, Captain Sponsor for $3,000, Centerpiece Sponsor for $2,500, Island Breeze Sponsor for $1,500 and Tiki Sponsor for $750. he TCLM Chamber hosted the first Member 101 lunch-and-learn of the year Tuesday, Jan. 23 in the TCLM Chamber Conference Room. About 15 new members and prospective members had the chance to meet with the chamber staff as they guided them through the list of membership benefits. Everyone in attendance also had the chance to network with their fellow attendees and learned valuable tools to promote their businesses. LEADERSHIP MAINLAND Leadership Mainland Service Project
T
he 2023 Leadership Mainland Class had its second service project Jan. 20. The class had the opportunity to host a beach cleanup in Galveston. The class was excited to help keep the beaches beautiful. Members filled more than six bags of trash in just about a 2-mile stretch of beach.

he Young Professionals held its first event of the year Jan. 9 for a lunch-and-learn event and heard from the Young Professional Council. The council includes Brittany Rivers, Galveston County Health District; Kourtney Fanucchi, Anchored Real Estate; Jordan Kleinecke, Moore Industries; Charlie Mascorro, AMOCO Federal Credit Union; Dane Grissom, DBG Services; and Marielle Mascorro, TCLM Chamber of Commerce. Everyone in attendance had the chance to hear from the Young Professionals Council about the upcoming year and all the new fun activities for the group to enjoy. The group will not

he Women in Business networking group met Jan. 25 at the TCLM Chamber for an Advisory Team Panel and Q&A. The event was moderated by Stefanie Aldrich, TCLM Chamber of Commerce. Everyone in attendance had the chance to hear from the council about the upcoming year and what is in store for the group. They also introduced the motto for the year which is “Meet Me There.” The panel’s mission for the year is to expand the group’s reach and create an impact on attendees through relevant topics, intentional communication and collective championing.
