Ready. Set. Shop Local! W
e’re gearing up for another holiday season! This holiday season the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce will start celebrating all its businesses in a new way. Starting today, the Chamber will be accepting receipts when you shop locally to be traded in for a chance to win big! From now until Thursday, Dec. 14, the Chamber will be accepting receipts from purchases made at local Chamber member businesses. This initiative not only will help stimulate our local economy but also offer a $500 cash reward to the giveaway winner for spending their money locally. The money we keep here circulates again and again through the local economy, leveraging
itself through business growth, job creation, lower taxes, public services and civic pride — a better life for everyone! The winning name will be drawn on Friday, Dec. 15. That $500 cash reward can then go back to the local economy by using it at a Chamber member business. Win-Win! Shop at any Chamber member business to qualify to win. Show us your receipts from a lodging or shopping trip, eating or entertainment outing. Receipts must be from Nov. 1 to Dec. 14, 2023, to qualify. For more information on the Shop Local event, please call the TCLM Chamber at 409-935-1408 or email Stefanie Aldrich at stefanie@ TCLMchamber.com.

undreds of charities, 1,000s of lives, all for one purpose — making a difference for children. Valero is putting its company’s caring culture to work across the U.S. Congratulations to our 2023 Texas City Benefit for Children recipients. For the second year, Valero Texas City was able to invest $500,000 into area agencies that provide crucial programs for children. Thank you to the Refinery leadership team for your nominations and support. • Dickinson ISD Education Foundation Inc. • Texas City ISD Foundation for the Future • Anchor Point • MI Lewis Social Service Center • Bay Area Council Boy Scouts of America • Santa Fe TX Education Foundation • Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County • The Salvation Army Galveston County • CASA of Galveston County • Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana • Galveston County Food Bank
The 2023 Valero Benefit for Children, together with the Valero Texas Open, generated more than $23 million in net proceeds. In the 100-year history of the Valero Texas Open, more than $232 million in net charitable contributions have been raised. Net proceeds from the Benefit for Children are distributed to children’s charities in communities where Valero has major operations. The result is a network of strong, well-supported agencies with the means to help thousands of disadvantaged children. The Valero Benefit for Children, thanks to the generosity of our many business partners and sponsors, is proud to support hundreds of agencies that make a lasting difference in children’s lives.
