Highlights of 2024:

MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

It is my honor to present the 2024 Annual Report for the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). This report showcases a year of growth, innovation, and transformation—a testament to the collaboration among our colleges, students, industry partners, and community leaders.

Reflecting on the past year, one thing is clear: TCSG is leading the way in workforce development, equipping students with in-demand skills, and driving Georgia’s economic prosperity. In 2024, we celebrated remarkable milestones, expanded educational access, boosted student success, and deepened partnerships with businesses that fuel job creation and innovation.

Ø Enrollment Growth and Record Achievement: TCSG welcomed its highest number of students since 2013 and achieved record-breaking graduate and placement rates. Our colleges continue to be gateways to opportunity for individuals and families across Georgia.

Ø GEORGIA MATCH Success: As the nation’s first statewide direct college admissions program, Governor Kemp’s GEORGIA MATCH initiative guarantees thousands of high school seniors access to higher education. Its successful first year underscores Georgia’s commitment to affordable, accessible education.

Ø Expanding Work-Based Learning: We launched new apprenticeship programs in key industries like advanced manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, addressing workforce gaps while giving students hands-on experience.

Ø Strengthening Transfer Pathways: TCSG expanded articulation agreements with the University System of Georgia, making it easier for students to transfer credits and continue their educational journey toward advanced degrees.

Ø Adult Education Achievements: Innovative programs like Career Plus, Dual Achievement, high school equivalency options, and Integrated Education and Training (IET) helped thousands of adult learners reach their goals. The growth in high school equivalency graduates reflects our commitment to lifelong learning and second chances.

Ø Industry Partnerships: Companies such as Amazon, Kia Georgia, and QCells turned to TCSG for customized training. Our colleges delivered cutting-edge programs that prepare students for high-tech, in-demand jobs.

These accomplishments are just a glimpse of the successes happening across Georgia. TCSG colleges are deeply embedded in their communities, driving meaningful economic and social change. I extend my sincere gratitude to Governor Brian Kemp, the General Assembly, our Board members, college presidents, faculty, staff, and industry partners. Your unwavering support and dedication have been critical to our success.

Looking ahead, TCSG remains committed to making high-quality, affordable education accessible to all Georgians and preparing them for careers that sustain families and communities. Together, we will continue to build a stronger, more prosperous Georgia.

With a steadfast commitment to excellence and a rich legacy, Atlanta Technical College (ATC) has been a cornerstone of educational opportunities and workforce development at its current location for almost 60 years. ATC is devoted to preparing students for high-paying, high-impact careers across a spectrum of over 100 fields of study.

ATC’s Center for Workforce Innovation (CWI) is a visionary initiative aimed at enhancing student success, career readiness, and addressing critical workforce needs in Atlanta. These partnerships have led to the establishment of an Electrical Line Worker program with the support of Georgia Power, the introduction of a Microsoft Data Center on campus, breaking ground on a transportation and logistics center, and upcoming renovations to the Hank Aaron Academic Complex that will house the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Manufacturing and the Center for Film and Media Production.

ATC believes that empowering the community with transformational work and technical education will enhance Atlanta’s attractiveness to both existing and emerging businesses and industries. These efforts will make significant contributions to the economic and social advancement of individuals residing and working in the Atlanta area and its vicinity.
