Our Vision

The mission of “The Day of the Lord Ministries” is to embrace offenders, ex-offenders, and their family members with love through the various groups under our umbrella; to assist them in becoming equipped with the things they’ll need to be productive citizens, and loving family members.

Membership in The Day of The Lord Ministries includes all persons participating in any of the stated Ministries who choose to embrace our stated vision and values

To be an instrument through which the power of the Holy Spirit can minister to offenders, exoffenders, and their family members. Causing them to be self confident as they learn their purpose; to develop a new attitude toward their circumstance and rise above it.

“For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached……’’ 2 Corinthians 11:4 “FAKE, FRAUDS, AND PHONIES” The Bible has been taken by many to lead others astray. So many people have even committed suicide believing what someone else says about the Bible. The Bible clearly warns us about such people! Jesus said in Matthew 7:15: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves”. I’m talking about people who deliberately altars the word of God for financial gain, or for their own doctrine. The Bible instructs us to test the spirits to be sure if they are of God (1 John 4:1). But we must be walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16) in order to test the spirits. 1 John 2:26 says: “These things (2:18-25) I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.” Peter says these people will bring on themselves swift destruction (2 Peter 2:1-3). We must be very careful who we choose to follow and whom we allow to shepherd us. And I can’t stress it enough; we must know God’s word for ourselves! Ignorance is no excuse, for God has given each of us a measure of faith (Romans 12:3). These fakes, frauds, and phonies are employed by Satan, who transforms himself into an angel of light. So they have learned from the best when it comes to being deceptive. But we have the Master Teacher to learn from, that we should know that we know our faith is the real deal! Do not be deceived. Be Blessed! Virgil L. Wilson Sr.

Remember it's not about us, it's all about Him!

MEN OF GOD IN PRISON There have been lots of articles published in the newsletter about our women who are out there waiting for us and all they go through. Everything written in those articles are true, so please do not allow anything I’m about to say take away from the many sacrifices our wives and significant others make just for us. but us “MEN OF GOD” in prison need a voice also. Let me say first that I know the “vast majority” of us men in prison are guilty as charged & convicted. So don’t think I’m complaining about our circumstances, it’s part of our punishment (Lamentation 3:39). But what I would like to say to you women who have “chose” to be down for and wait on one of us is; “we have it hard in here also”! I’m only talking to you women who “know” you have a true man of God, it’s nothing easy about being a Christian in prison. There’s nothing easy about being talked bad to by someone who you’re old enough to be their father or grandfather. There’s nothing easy about holding your peace when another inmate (who don’t care about going home) disrespects you. there’s nothing easy about having to get up at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning to go put in some free labor. There’s nothing easy about trying to stay disciplinary case free so we don’t hinder our chances to make parole. Again, so no one misunderstands me, I know we put ourselves in prison by our choices and lifestyle. But, for most od us had we not had a woman waiting on us, medium custody, close custody, or even Ad Seg would have been our housing location a long time ago. My prayer is, that you women don’t take for granted what we go through in here to make it to you soon as possible, just as we should never take for granted what you go through out there. I remember once when I was on medical chain and my wife came to visit me at Estelle Unit. Because of my housing restriction (bottom bunk, bottom row) they had me housed in Seg for the weekend. And regardless of why you’re housed in Seg, you’re treated like everyone else there. So I was escorted to visit in handcuffs and had to visit from a “little cage”. I’ll never forget the look on my wife and grandbaby’s face when they saw me in those handcuffs! If we’re not focused, it’s easy to get caught up and be escorted around in handcuffs on a regular basis. But for me, and I know I speak for many others, I’m not doing this time just for me anymore. First and foremost it’s all about Christ! Secondly at all times I have to be mindful that I have a woman of God waiting on me that has put her life on hold for “US”! So to all the men and women of God who are married or just together, let us learn to appreciate each other more. I’ll be the first to say that I “trip out” on my wife sometime because I want the very best from her just like she wants from me. But at the end of the day I know that’s my “GOOD THANG” from the Lord, and whatever I have to endure in here to get to her out there, I’m going to do it. I just wanted to be that voice for us men who are doing the right thing who feels the need to be appreciated also. Be Blessed V.L. Wilson Sr.

ACTIVE FRONTLINE MESSAGE FOR OCTOBER 5 REASONS GOD ALLOWS PROBLEMS IN OUR LIVES Instead of allowing problems to worry us when they come our way, we must learn that God is still working in out life and may have allowed the problems for these reasons: 1. To direct us or motivate us to change. Prov. 16:25 2. To inspect us, when problems arise, what do they reveal about our character? James 1:2-4 3. To correct us. Some lessons in life are best learned through pain and failure. We learn the value of some things by losing them. Psalm 119: 71-72 4. To protect us. a problem can be a blessing in disguise to prevent more serious harm to us. Genesis 50:20 5. To perfect us. When we respond correctly to problems, our character is built up. Romans 5:3-4 Always remember, in any circumstance we find ourselves in, there is always someone in a worse situation than our own, thank God for where He has brought you to and continue to move forward. SCRIPTURE OF THE MONTH BY REY P.: It is He who made this earth by His power who established the world by His wisdom and by His understanding stretched out the heavens. (Jer. 51:15) Do you have some struggles and things you cannot seem to overcome? Seek the Lord Jesus. He is the power and wisdom of God. He understands you best. He woke me up this morning, and he sent me on my way. He gave me his true blessing, and strength to last this day. My path was set already, before even my life begin. For in the womb be knew me, and loved me even then. He knew that I’d turn away, and take a different road, and yet he honored my choice to take such a heavy load. He gave to me the strength, to endure and yet not die. He already knew I would be in pain, but still he let me try. He left it open for me to return, so he could bless my life. He stayed with me every step of the way, to lessen my earthly strife. Still yet I feel some pain, for strongholds I still possess. But he says “just hold on son” for your life I will soon bless. I have no fear of what man can do for God is in control. He knows the ending of every story, as well as those untold. He will not leave nor forsake me, His word he deeply proclaim And I trust in Him and all He says, in Him my faith remain. I went astray and could not hear Him, and struggled with each passing day But I sought again His soothing voice, and am thankful I found they way He welcomed me in with open arms, and bestowed on me His rest And assured me then in my uncertain words that he would guide me in my quest So I move gingerly forward, taking positive steps, aware of all I do Always with a prayer upon my lips to my God who will see me through. Greetings Brothers & Sisters in Christ. If you have the mindset that many things in the Old Testament is a foreshadow of the Christ that was to come, you will understand why Jesus is our refuge. Heavenly Father we pray the words of the Psalter as spoken in Psalm 119:18; open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Because illumination is the ministry of the Holy Spirit we acknowledge that He is needed to understand the Truths Revealed in Scripture. Thank you for your power manifested by your Spirit. In Jesus Name. Amen. “Jesus Is Our Refuge” In the Book of Numbers, Chapter 35, verse 14 states “you shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall you give in the Land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge.” (KJV) In the Book of Joshua, Chapter 20 the cities are named along with their locations. (v 7) Kedesh in Galilee in Mount Naphtali, Shechem in Mount Ephraim, Hebron in the Mountain of Judah. Hebron is also called Kirjoth-arba. (v8) Bezer in the tribe of Ruben, Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh. Names in the Bible are very significant and they point to the purpose and characteristics God intend to display in the person, place, or thing for His use. When we have a problem or a need, God already has a name for it in which He will complete His purpose and will for our life. As we use a microscope to view the cities of refuge we have to study the name and location. (Kedesh-Naphtali) Kedesh means Holy, Naphtali means I have prevailed see Genesis 30:8. (Shechem-Ephraim) Shechem means place of sanctity, Ephraim means God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction. See Genesis 41:52. (Hebron-Judah) Hebron means stronghold, fortified and the modern name for Kiriath-arba is Khalil er-Rahman which means friend of the merciful. Judah means He is to be praised. See Hastings Bible Dictionary p. 501. (Bezer-Ruben) Bezer means Fortress, Ruben means the Lord has looked upon my affliction. See Genesis 29:32 (Ramoth-Gilead) Ramoth means something in High Value, Gilead is of the tribe of Gad which means Troop of Fortune. (Golan-Bashan) Golan means carried away captive (ity) Bashan is of the tribe of Manasseh which means “God” has made me forget my toil. See Genesis 30:11. All of these cities of refuge represent Christ Jesus, Jesus is Holy and have Prevailed against hell, death, and the grave. Jesus gives us a place of sanctity as He reconciles us back to the Father. Because of the headship of Christ we are aligned under Him we will be fruitful in our production of the Fruit of the Spirit even in our affliction. The Psalmist states in Psalm 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray...My steps are ordered. Jesus Christ is our stronghold, our intercessor, we are fortified in Him, He is the Lion of Judah. Jesus is in very high value, He is the only payment accepted for our sins. He is worthy to be praised, His name is above every name, those who call upon His name shall be saved. Jesus carried the good news to those Old Testament saints as He removed them from Abraham’s bosom. Psalm 68:18 and Ephesians 4:8 make it clear He “ascended up on high He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” The fortune was the Blood He shed on Calvary which was used to buy us out of the slavery to sin market. Jesus has made us to forget our toil. In Ephesians 4:20-23 (KJV) 20)But you have not so learned Christ. 21) If so be that ye have heard Him and be taught by Him as the truth is in Jesus, 22) that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man according to the deceitful lust. 23) And be renew in the spirit of your mind. So old things pass away and all things are made new in Christ Jesus. More than fifteen times the word refuge is used in the Book of Psalm. I draw your attention to Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. Jesus is near, as close as the city of refuge when an infraction was made one did not have to run far for a stronghold. Jesus is our refuge! That’s my message… Common-Unity Ministries Pastor Ricky Barnett 01541732 - Beto 1391 FM 3328 Tennessee Colony, TX 75880

CARNAL MARRIAGE OR SPIRITUAL MARRIAGE It inspires me how Paul speaks o the Corinth church one way on the principles of marriage; but He speaks a total different way to the church of Ephesus. The thing that jumped out at me most of all, is Paul tells the church of Corinth in (1 Corinthians 7:11), a husband is not to divorce his wife. He speaks on departing from your spouse but remaining unmarried. But to the church of Ephesus he never talked about departing or divorce. He tells them a husband is to love his wife just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her. why didn’t Paul tell the men of the church of Corinth to love their wives as Christ loves the church? Maybe because the Corinth church spoke as many of us today’s Christian speak; with the question: What if? Especially married Christians...what if he or she cheats on me? What if I fall out of love with them? What if it don’t work out? What if…. You get the picture? A carnal marriage is always spoken from the person’s soul (your way). While a spiritual marriage is always spoken from the person’s spirit (God’s way). I’m learning in this marriage life that I have to stop the soul of me from talking and allow the spirit in me to speak. For example: Me and my wife had a difference of opinion’s if you will, which kind of upset me. OK, it was no kind of at all, it did upset me! The thing that I didn’t do was act out of my emotions. I allowed the spiritual man to speak for me, “Darnell, dwell with her with understanding…” “Where did I see or hear that from before,” I thought. Let me let you in on a little secret, when you’re in the heat of the moment with your spouse or anyone for that matter, bringing up scriptures is the last thing on your mind, but as a man and woman of God we shouldn’t ignore that still voice. The question came to me, did Jesus act out of His emotions or His spirituality? (Matt. 26: 52-54) helped me to understand that question. Here we have Peter pulling a sword out, acting on his emotions. While Jesus let it be known that if he wanted to act on his emotions, he could pray to his Father and He will provide more than twelve legions of angels, but the scriptures must be fulfilled. This is what I drive on in my marriage as well as purpose on this earth. I wrote my wife that Sunday as I always do after our visits and did not bring up that situation. I prayed and really asked God to help me love her as Christ loved the church. (Ephesians 5:33) came to heart and mind. “Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself…” (verse 29), “...nourishes and cherishes… I wrote my wife a letter that nourished her spirit and cherished her soul. God did the rest and put people in her life and a conviction in her heart and everything fell into place. Now I truly know what Matthew 19:6 means, “...Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.” Including you! If I would have acted out in my carnal state (emotionally) I would have been trying to separate what God joined together. Men of God who are married, let’s not have a carnal marriage, with the arguments, fussing & fighting, the tarring down and hurtful words. But a spiritual marriage sacrificing and really loving her as ourselves. Men, you wouldn’t argue, fuss or fight, or tare yourself down with hurtful words. So why would you do your wife like that? Questions I would like us to ponder on: Would you ever divorce yourself? Would you ever embarrass yourself on purpose? Would you never appreciate you, tell yourself you’re not needed or that you don’t value your own opinions, intellect or spirituality? Men of God, carnal marriage is hell on earth! Spiritual marriage is heaven on earth! You make the choice. In God’s Time Rev. Darnell Johnson Beto Unit

ARE YOU LISTENING? Are you faced with one of the most difficult decisions in life? Are you burden down with issues of life? Have your so-called friends seem to have turned their backs on you? are you dealing with areas in your life and you are all tangled up and can’t break loose? You must first get in a quiet place and let God speak to you through His word. often we spend time with God and we do all the talking. God is saying; are you listening? If so please meditate on Isaiah 41:9-10 this is God’s word to you: Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called the from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant, I have chose thee away. Verse 10: Fear not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. God is saying He is your God, He will strengthen you, He will help you, He will uphold you. Are you listening? God has spoken; let the church say AMEN. David W. Brooks - Michael Unit - Minister of Music GOD IS SPEAKING ARE YOU LISTENING? In this life that is full of distractions and things that keep a lot of God’s people from hearing Him. God will do what it takes to get our attention and still people will miss His voice. Have you ever had a restless night where you just couldn’t sleep? Have you ever thought that God is trying to get your attention by giving you a restless spirit? In the Book of Esther 6:1-3 you will find that the King couldn’t sleep so he commanded his servants to bring out the book of records and read to him. They read where Mordecai; Esther’s cousin saved the kings life. From the reading of the book of records saved the Jews which was Mordecai and Esther’s people from being destroyed by the decree that was put out by this wicked man Haman, if you find that you can’t sleep it just might be God trying to get your attention to help somebody. God will sometimes speak to you through people to get your attention. In 2 Samuel 12 King David slept with another man’s wife then had the man killed. God sent a man name Nathan who told David a story about a man who had one lamb and another man who had a lot of lambs but the man with all the lambs took that man with one lamb his only lamb. The story troubled David so much until he wanted to punish the man but Nathan told him you are that man. It got David’s attention and he repented and wrote Psalms 51. A third way God will speak to get your attention is through blessings in the most unusual ways. Paul illustrated this in Romans 2:4 when he wrote, “or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads to repentance? God can use unusual, abundant blessings to gain your attention. The blessings may be spiritual or financial whatever they are God seems to pile them on. God is speaking are you listening? Don’t miss His voice. King David W. Brooks Michael Unit - Minister of Music

“BUY IT” “John I don’t know why you’re selling you house. All you’ve got to do is make your wife Mrs. Goodie Two Shoes find her a job and help you pay bills.” Mrs. Gardner yelled at her son John. Mom Kayen has tried her best to find a job but living in the county you know, you know it’s not easy for someone with her qualifications.” “Oooh qualification my foot, Mrs. Gardner added. ♥ As soon as they pulled into the driveway, Kayen met them, “Honey we’ve got someone coming out to look at the house about twelve o’clock noon tomorrow.” “Uh, so soon,” Mrs. Gardner exclaimed. “Yes Martha, so soon,” Kayen answered as she led the way into their huge two story six bedroom home. ♥ “G-o-d I’d hate to see you lose such a beautiful place such as this, especially when we don’t have anywhere else to go right now.” “Stop worrying mom, the Lord will provide,” John told her. “He was providing John Dray Gardner until you and your wife started pouring all of your money into that o-l-d church.” “That’s our o-l-d church Martha, and we weren’t pouring our money into it, it’s called paying our tithes and offerings just like the Lord commands us to do.” “You two have become too religious for me and I ju’,” “Well, I’m sorry mom but the Bible tells us in I Samuel 15:22 “...to obey is better than sacrifice, and to harken than the fat of rams.” ♥ John and Kayen left little Michael with Martha and went onto their room to do more packing. Yet while they packed Kayen’s mind diverted back to a couple of conversations she and John had on the subject of Michael. After sighing once two many times John stopped and asked, “Okay hone, so what’s on your mind?” She looked at him, tilted her head sighed once more and then answered, “I know this has been discussed more that a hundred times John but I just can’t help but to keep thinking about Michael and that old ugly farm house. The only time he ever over reacts is when we are approaching that ole place and you know it John,” Kayen said. “Uuuh,” John exhaled. “Hone, Michael ain’t but two years old, what would he know about buying anything except sweets.” “Okay then, you explain to me like I asked you to do before about him pointing at the place and saying buy it.” silence filled the room for about the space of fifteen seconds before John broke the silence, “I told you before hone, I can’t explain it.” “Well, then, can’t we at least go and look at it. Perhaps the Lord is trying to tell us something,” Kayen said as she fell upon his neck. “Ohh alright, but, I’m letting you know now, you’re the one who is going to have to deal with mom. You know how much she hates to even see Michael getting excited every time we past by the place.” “Sure, I’ll just ask the Lord to cork her mouth the way He did the lions so the couldn’t eat Daniel, ”Kayen smirked. “Yeah well, you’d better start now because I'd like to go right after the people come and see our house tomorrow.” ♥ As soon as the visitors, a tall slim Caucasian man with a black lady who appeared to be in her mid thirties walked inside of the house, the living room was filled with the sounds of surprises. “oh –oh Todd, it’s beautiful, I love like, I want it.” “You see Francis, I told you you’d love it.” Martha wanted to say something but no matter how hard she tried, the words just couldn’t seem to find their way out through her lips. John and Kayen went about showing off the rest of their home; before the visitors left them they let them know they wanted the place. ♥ As soon as they loaded up, Martha questioned them over and over about where they were going but she’d only be told, “for a ride mom just relax,” John would tell her. After riding for about thirty-five minutes she didn’t have to be concerned about their journey any longer as they turned onto the old dusty dire road that headed up toward the old farm house. Clenching onto her chest Martha gasped, “What on earth are we doing here?” The only response heard was “Buy it, buy it, buy it,” that came from the child. They pulled up to the door stopped and starred in total silence before John said, “Well this is it, l-e-t -s goooo!” “W-h-a-t! go where, in there,” Martha asked? Little Michael happily screamed “buy it, buy it, buy it.” as they stood looking at all of the rotten wood, broken out windows, and door less place Michael voice lowered to a whisper, “buy it, buy it, buy it.” They all entered inside where spider webs welcomed them from corner to corner. The place looked beyond repair. “Well, what do you think,” Kayen asked? “Well, to be honest sweet,” “buy it, buy it, buy it,” little Michael interrupted. ♥ “Ooo-kay son, that’s what we’ll do. After paying our tithes and offerings out of the money we get from our home we’ll use the rest to try and fix this place up” John decided. “ohh nooo you won’t, Martha responded. John shot a quick look at Kayen who responded, “It’s your mother.” “Yeah but you’re the one whose suppose to be doing the praying, you know, the lions, and Daniel. “Well, its settled anyways, you said it’s been decided, do, that’s that Kayen answered. After a month had passed by all of the deals had been made, the ex-owner of the place told them about the rich couple who was just about to close the deal on the place but at the last minute changed their minds.” I prayed and asked the Lord to p-l-e-a-s-e send someone to lift this tax burden off of me. All I have left to live on is my retirement. I’m just too old to try to keep up with the taxes,” the elderly man told John and Kayen. “Well, to be quite honest with you, it was our two year old son who kept saying “buy it, buy it, buy it,” until finally I said ohh what the keck and here we are,” John responded. “W-el-l I-l-l b-e-d-a-r-n, if that don’t beat the most. That’s j-u-s-t what the Bible declares in (Isaiah 11:6)”..and a little child shall lead them.” ♥ “Oooh God, and I suppose you two really believe that non-sense,” Martha implied. “Who else said over and over besides little Michael” “buy it, buy it, buy it,” Kayen asked as they started leaving the man’s home? ♥ After crossing through town they got on the road toward their old farm home but couldn’t find it. They turned onto their old dusty dirt road where they saw about six white vehicles parked on their property. As they came to a stop three suited gentlemen approached them. “Hello there, my name is Shawn Carrol and these two are my brothers, Mark and Robert.” John stepped out of his van and stood listening to the men as they talked about buying the place. They offered them ten times the amount they’d paid for it, John, Kayen and Martha all excitedly yelled yes, but Michael yelled, “NO!” “off, don’t mind him, he’s just a child,” Martha answered. As tempted as they were they finally decided not to sell and Martha fainted. She couldn’t believe they’d turn down a million tax free dollars. ♥ About two and a half weeks of building and digging to lay pipe lines Mr. Burrs called for the crew to stop and come see what he’d found. Struck in awe one of the assistant supervisors left running to his truck where he quickly dialed John’s cell. Mr. Burr was much too shocked to move. “Hello, Mr. Gardner, I’m sorry to bother you sir, but you must come quickly, there’s oil spewing through every trench we’ve dug to lay your pipes in. you’re going to be a very rich man sir,” he was told as the phone was disconnected. Indeed they were. The Gardeners purchased an oil field that God directed them to by His awesome wisdom using a child to lead his family. The Bible is filled with nothing but truth that demonstrates God’s loving-kindness. Our blessings many not always come in ways we think they should, that’s why Jesus said, “...with God all things are possible,” (Matthew 19:26). God bless you all. Min. Here I sit after 12 years; I have been given another set off. I get these year after year and they get harder to do as the years go by. I am led to help others. I ask myself who am I and what can I tell others? How can I teach you anything? I am nothing, but a man who has ruined everything I have been a part of. I am my own worst enemy, because I destroy things as a defense to protect myself. I am still learning to let that go. I want to be a good man who does good and is surrounded by good things and good people. I am trying to achieve that. I do better at times that I am focused than others when I am out of focus. It is easy around Christian brothers, but so hard away from them. I have to pull away from the world to not get caught up in the flow of things. It is easy to go with the current, but hard to go against it. So I pray for the strength to do it. I thank you for letting me vent and being there to listen. In the garden, He proclaimed them to be husband and wife, Not a couple of he’s, not a couple of she’s! Over time, men have lost sight of the truth, Now the world is instilling this in our youth! Men everywhere are being deceived, I’ll say it again - - break it down for you too! God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Men and women are saying; “I was born this way!” But that’s not what my Bible has to say! Though we were all born into sin. We don’t have to let it rule us from within. One man for one woman, that’s what the Bible says. Not the lusts of the same sex, as Satan prays. I myself was once like you, then I found Leviticus 18:22 And I have come to see and believe- God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. I proclaim this, and know it’s true! Speaking from my heart out of love for you. It’s a life of abuse, pain, misery, and mis-use. A path to destruction will only be-fall you; So, whether this you choose to accept, or dis-believe… The fact still remains- My friend - He made them, Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve… This poem is written with an addition by: Joseph Evans

ADAM AND EVE There are two voices telling us where to invest our lives. It’s a risky business to follow the wrong one. If we hold onto God’s truth, we won’t be trapped by Satan’s lies. Some may doubt this, but it’s truth shall not cease! Other’s may doubt, and throw insults at me. But it’s no less true, and I still believe --GOD made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. A lot of us who lived our lives as homosexual’s seen the only way we thought to find true love. Not knowing at the time, we were lying to ourselves. We allow (ed) our imagination’s to run wild, thinking that this is (the) best way for me to survive; not knowing that I (we) were defying the Word of God with my (our) lifestyle because that when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart (s) were darkened (Romans 1:21). In the garden of Eden, He proclaimed them to be husband and wife, not a couple of he’s, not a couple of she’s! over time, men have lost sight of the truth, now the world is instilling this in our youth. Men everywhere are being deceived. I’ll say it again — break it down for you too: God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve… Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts to dis-honor their own bodies between themselves (Romans 1:24). Once one converts their life to Christ, be warned, that the one’s that didn’t give you the time of day, will all of a sudden try to devour you! we must want to see the truth in what we are doing to be able to leave from it, in the name of Christ Jesus… To open their eyes and to turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan, unto God. That they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me (Acts 26:18) Men and women are saying; “I was born this way”. But that’s not what my Bible has to say! Though we were all born into sin, we don’t have to let it rule us from within. One man for one woman, that’s what the Bible says, not the lust of the same sex, as Satan prays. I myself, was once like you, then I found Leviticus 18:22! And I came to see and believe - - God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve...we continually ask God to remove the temptation’s that God deliver’s us from; we should ask God to keep that (those) thorns in out lives to always remind is that we don’t want to go back to! Always remember that the devil knows what to use to get us to fall back onto our old ways. At times when we feel down and out, and the situation seems to get to us. it makes us want to quit, because we wonder is it worth it. Defeat doesn’t defeat a man, but quitting does defeat a man! When we find ourselves weary and distressed, we need to plug into the true source of strength and life. The Creator of the universe knows no power failure… I proclaim this to be and know it is to be true! Speaking from my heart out of love for you, it’s a life of abuse, pain, misery, and mis-use. A path to destruction will only be-fall you; so, whether this you choose to accept, or dis-believe...the fact still remains -- my friend- - He made them Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve! I NEED A HUG It was three o’clock in the morning when the phone rang, awakening me from my deep sleep. Who in the world is calling me at this time of night? I thought to myself. normally I would have been angered to the bone, but not tonight. I was actually relieved, more so then anything, because that dream I was having wasn’t pleasant at all. I was being chased by an adult male lion, that had somehow escaped from the local zoo. Strangely it had a human voice, and kept saying to me…”You can’t run forever. Eventually you’ll get tired and slow down and right when you do—I will be all over you like maggots on a dead corpse.” Thank God that that was only a bad dream. The phone rang at least two more times before I finally answered - “Hello!” I heard nothing but silence on the other end. Already irritated by the dream I just had, once again I blurted out - “Hello!” Letting it be known by my use of tone, that I was not in the mood. Again, no one responded, and now I was mad. “Who is this and why are you playing childish games> Do you not have better things to do with your time?” Seeing that I wasn’t about to get an answer from the idiot on the other end, I told whomever it was listening, that I was going back to bed, and suggested that they do the same. And then I hung up. Not even five seconds had passed, before the phone had begun ringing again. Skipping the formalities of answering the phone the traditional way, I answered this time with a justified chip on my shoulders. “Look here, you punk! I don’t know what kind of pleasure you’re getting out of playing phone games this late at night, but let me tell you something - I am not your toy - So find myself something else to play with, and don’t call my number ever again. I mean it!” Just as I was about to hang up for the second time, I heard a noise, and it sounded like a sniffle. Part of me was still somewhat angered by this disturbing late night phone call, and the other half of me had all of the sudden become curious. So instead of hanging up, I pressed the phone closer to my ear...Listening for any other strange sounds. I contemplated n the thought of whether I should say something, or keep quiet and continue listening to the echoes of salience, when suddenly screams filled my ears. Instinctively I jumped though there was no sign of danger in view. My heart was palpitating at a pace so fast I thought it was about to explode. I was startled by the deafening screams of someone who I could not even see. “were they being attacked? Is it someone I know? What in the world is going on?” Were the many thoughts that invaded my mind. After listening to the person on the other end sobbing for what seemed like an hour, but was note like a solid five minutes, I finally gathered the courage to speak. “Hello! Who is this? Do I know you? Is someone hurting you? Do you need me to call help for you?” Interrupting my barrage of questions, the person on the other end of my phone finally spoke saying, “No! I’m not being attacked, and I don’t need you to phone anyone for help. I just need someone to talk to that’s all.” Baffled by the response, I asked - “Well, if you don’t mind me asking, what made you choose me? Do I know you?” “Yes and no,” the voice said to me, answering my second question first. “And the reason why I chose you, is because I know that if anyone can help me - It’s you.” up until that point, I hadn’t yet realized that it was rainy outside, which I found to be surprising, considering that rain was not in the weather forecast at all for this week. The rain beat against the foundation of my house like a skilled drummer in concert. I pinched myself on the arm to see if I were still asleep, because at the moment, I felt like I were in a bizarre dream. But to my amazement, I wasn’t. what was happening was very much real. Going along with the voice on the other end, I asked, “So how can I be of help to you?” “Pray for me”. Were the words he uttered in a low...But audible enough genuine tone. “Pray for you...About what? I inquired. “That (GOD) would heal my wounded soul.” He went on to confess that he’d been suffering with a case of depression for a very very long time, and was almost out of breath. Daily he’s assaulted by the hands of loneliness, which only makes his emotional hiccups a never ending story. “Where is God when I need Him?” He cried into the phone. “Why doesn’t He help me? He’s just like all the rest who’s abandoned me. All I ever wanted in this life was and is to be (loved); but instead, neglect is what’s been given to me as a gift. No one understands me. I’m always judged by the cover of my flesh, but if people would just take the time to read the contents of my heart, then would they see the butterfly that I truly am.” The phone then fell silent, and as if on cue, I began to pray. “FATHER, heal this brother’s broken heart. Wipe the tears away from the eyes of his soul. Submerge him in the waters of your unconditional love, and give him hope for better day’s ahead. Let not the enemy (Satan) snatch him from the palm of your hand. I pray FATHER that you break the power of depression that has him in mental, emotional and physical bondage, and empower him with your peace that surpasses all understanding. Your will be done - in JESUS name, AMEN!” The guy on the other end of the phone whose name I still didn’t know said “Amen!” and then thanked me for being an umbrella to him...in the storm that presently overshadowed his life. Then he said something that literally wrinkled my forehead. “Can I ask you a question?” he stuttered. “Sure, What is it?” I cheerfully asked. “Can I have a hug?” “What?” I shouted into the air at him. “Are you serious? What kind of freaky times are you on? Now, I prayed for you like you asked, but what you’re asking of me now is a bit overboard.” Giving out hugs wasn’t something I was use to doing - especially id it meant hugging another man. Men shook hands, not hugged. The man begin to sob all over again, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks - what he needed was more than just a hug, he was crying out for (approval, reassurance, and validation) in the form of a hug, because a hug from someone who cares is definitely needed from time to time. “Look, forgive me for the outburst,” I apologetically said,” I should’ve been more sensitive to your hurting heart, rather than being so quick to jump to false conclusions. If I could give you a hug, I would. But being as though it’s impossible to do so through the phone - I can’t.” “But you can,” he anxiously expressed. “You can!” “And just how is that possible?” I questioned. “Go to your front door,” he said. “Why? What's at my front door?” I inquisitively asked. “When you get there, you’ll see.” CONTINUE ON NEXT PAGE

Now for a moment I thought I might have to arm myself with something, because here it was three o’clock in the morning, it’s pitch dark inside my house, it’s storming outside, and I’m on the phone with a complete stranger whose telling me to go to my front door. It was almost like a scene out of a horror movie, right before a murder took place. After collecting my thoughts and swallowing the lump in my throat, I figured…”what the heck! If it’s my time to go, then it’s my time to go.” I’m at the door,” I nervously said into the phone. “Now what?” “Open it!” “Open it?” I answered back, hoping that I somehow heard him wrong. “Yes, open it,” he insisted. And like a brave fool, I did….and what my eyes beheld was the most shocking thing I’ve ever seen in my life. My knees almost buckled. My breathing grew heavy and sweat blanketed my forehead. The person standing on the other side of my door looked exactly like me, but he couldn’t have been no more then six or seven year’s old. He wore grown men clothes that hid his small frame, and was soak-n -wet from head to toe. My human instincts kicked in and I leaned forward scoop him up into my arms to shelter him from the rain, and that’s when I awoke from my sleep-only to find that whom I was holding tightly in my arms - was actually the little boy inside of (me). PS: Men and Women of God, we may never fully understand the (power) of a hug; moreover, we may not always realize just how badly one is needed, from time to time. Hugs, “one size fits all!’ Reach out to someone today, you never know the difference it just might make in their life. Peace! A man after God’s own heart, Minister Oesby ~aka~ Emotional Poet Mr. Antonio Oesby #13350-007 FCC, USP-2 PO BOX 1034 Coleman, Florida 33521-0879 “IS THIS YOU” Sometimes people come into your life, and you know right away they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, to teach you a lesson or to help you figure out who you are, or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be, but when you lock eyes with them you know that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way. Sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful & unfair, but in reflection you realize that without OVERCOMING those OBSTACLES you would have never realized your POTENTIAL strength with POWER & HEART. Everything happens for a REASON, nothing happen by chance or by means of good luck, illness, injury, love, lost moments or true greatness and sheer stupidity ALL occur to TEST the limits of your FAITH without those small test life would be like a smoothly paved straight, flat road to no where. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact they are probably the most POIGRANT & IMPORTANT ones...if someone HURT YOU, BETRAYS or BREAK YOUR HEART. Forgive them, because they have helped you LEARN about TRUST and the IMPORTANCE of being CAUTION to whomever you open your HEART too. Id someone LOVE you LOVE them back UNCONDITIONALLY not only because they LOVE you, nut because they are teaching you to LOVE and open your HEART & EYES to little things. Make every day count APPRECIATE every moment and take from it every thing you POSSIBLY can for you may never fall in LOVE, BREAK FREE and set your sights HIGH, hold your head up because you have every right too. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don’t believe in yourself no one else will. May God Greatly & Richly Bless Each of you is my prayer.

Joshua 1:5-7 - no man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous. The topic I’ve had in my head is “QUITTING”. I’ve recently come out of a time of testing and throughout the testing there are many times I wanted to quit. Deep in my heart I knew that I was supposed to be strong and courageous but it actually felt good at times to just let go, to just quit. I can look back now and see why it felt good, it was because the father of lies, the deceiver, the one who prowls around “like” a roaring lion let up off of me, he thought he had me. Many of you reading this have your moments of wanting to quit. I believe it is because many of you are the people in the verse in Joshua that are chosen to bring salvation to the lost, to give back this people possession of the land which God promised. I f you don’t think that Satan knows who you are than you better read your Bible a little more. I believe we the chosen are an easier target for him to see because of the Glory of God that fills us. starting in the book of Genesis God’s glory is always described as fire or bright light, and the New Testament talks about Christians maturing from Glory to Glory or shining brighter and brighter . I think about brothers like Yuri Luckette. Here is a brother that was crippin and trippin; slagin’ and bangin’ touched by the love of the Lord and used to minister to many that won’t listen to us because we haven’t been in their shoes. I remember a time he wanted to quit, we can look back on it laugh and see God’s glory, or the time that the Bloods brought me and my celly, the one and only Revy Rev. Darnell Johnson a piece of paper and pen and directed us to write down the names of the Christians we thought were fakin’ and shakin’; in my heart I wanted to fight and put the Bible to the side “just for a minute”, but my brother looked at me and said, “let’s pray brother God in still in control”. The testimonies are too many too list of times when it probably could have been easier to quit for a lot of us. be strong and very courageous, if your going through a time of trouble it’s filtered through the loving hands of God, yes He’ll let us bend but He’ll never let us break. What if the following people quit: Martin Luther King Jr., Billy Graham, Nelson Mandela, The Disciples, Jesus of Nazareth. If they would have quit their vision would have died. Our Lord and Savior lived knowing he was gonna die for us yet he pressed forward. How many millions will your voice reach? NONE if you quit! To all of you that didn’t quit on me I don’t know where I’d be without you. I’ll leave you with my favorite verse 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God. How can you help some one in pain if we’ve never felt it. Peace, Love, Power, IN CHRIST Alberto Prado

DID YOU KNOW? In ancient China the punishment for small crimes such as shoplifting and breaking curfew was to brand the offender’s forehead with a hot iron. A bird routinely swallows small pebbles and pieces of gravel, which grind food as it passes through its digestive system. In 1700 there were more people living in Boston (7,000) then in New York City (5,000). The total population of the American colonies at that time was under 250,000. If you miss your exit on the Florida Turnpike, you could be in for a long ride until the next one. From exit 193 to exit 242, it’s 51.1 miles.

BIBLICAL HUMOR LOST IN THE DARNDEST PLACES: An elderly Floridian called 911 on her cell phone to report that her car has been broken into. She is hysterical as she explains her situation to the dispatcher: 'They've stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and even the accelerator!' she cried. The dispatcher said, 'Stay calm. An officer is on the way.' A few minutes later, the officer radios in. 'Disregard.' He says. 'She got in the back-seat by mistake.'

TRUTH’S TODAY’S REMINDER: There should be no uproar in a downpour. If you can accept all the blessings that God has given you through His Grace, then you can take what He gives you through His tests. REPEAT AFTER ME: No matter what happens in my life, I will ALWAYS believe that God loves me. TRUTH: Too many times we search for things we don’t have, all the while not seeing all the things we DO have that God has provided. Stop looking for Him to prove it!

There is a saying among certain circles that says: “If I only knew then, what I know now.” this implies that through the experience of “doing” time, the lessons learned, if learned earlier, would have prevented trouble, mishaps, disappointments, and regrets. Personally, looking back at my almost 19 years of incarceration, if I would have realized my true potential, made the right choices and decisions, been who I really was instead of who the streets and the “homies” wanted me to be, and acknowledged the fact that I needed God in my life to truly be successful inside and outside of these prison walls, I wouldn’t have made the countless trips to solitary, PHD, or Medium Custody. I wouldn’t have messed off a Hardship Transfer which would have gotten me closer to my mother and grandmother who I’ve seen only once during my incarceration, as well as my only son. I wouldn’t have “put in work” as a Grape Street Crip, which resulted in some individuals being physically scarred for life. I also wouldn’t have involved myself in the “game” which resulted in everything from officers losing their jobs, to me catching two more prison sentences for possession stacked on my original 50 Agg sentence. It wasn’t until I accepted Jesus Christ into my life; August 23, 2008 that I came to my senses. If I had only knew then, what I know now. Kind reader, time is the most valuable thing in human existence, once it’s gone, you can’t get it back. What are you doing with your time? Think about it. Mr. Yuri K. Luckette #679441, Founder of Active Frontline Ministries, Beto One

Brother, Intimacy with God, through reading His word and talking to him will bring maturity of character. Just like I had to learn to gang bang, I had to learn to yield to the Holy Spirit. As we practice doing it, it gets easier.

Brother, I understand your struggle. I am fast approaching my 20th year in prison and at around 15, 16, or 17 years, the oppression of loneliness began to overwhelm me. I tried to do things on my own to get pen pals and so forth, but it wasn’t until I accepted Christ and decided to make Him my focus did things start to happen. He brought a woman into my life I hadn’t heard from in 16 years - if He did it for me, He’ll do it for you. keep your focus on Him and watch Him work. (Psalm 37:4-5, Proverbs 3:5, Jeremiah 29:11-13, Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 6:25-34).

We were initially created as good, moral beings - but when Satan pulled his stunt with our first parents things changed. We are imperfect because of that, and as a result, the heart can’t be trusted without being connected back to God through Christ. Only then will our eyes, mind, and heart be open to truth. (Jeremiah 17:9-10) (Ezekiel 36:26-27). We learn in quest for authentic manhood that a man does the following. 1. Reject being passive 2. Leads Courageously 3. Accepts Responsibility 4. Expects God’s reward for doing right. At 40, I’ve discovered it takes a long time for me to be the man I want to be. We get to that place only through Christ, for the rest of your life think about all your choices in life, realize the true potential and gifts God has put in you, and meet one of life's greatest challenges, being who God made you to be, not who the streets and circumstances want you to be. SUCCEED. In His Service Yuri K. Luckette #679441 Active Frontline Ministries

Concerning your “lost man” letter, brother you can never be lost with Christ. If you’ve truly accepted Christ into your heart, the same spirit that raised Him from the dead is in you (Romans 8:9-11, Romans 8:28-31). Brother, when we serve God, He can and will do things we can’t even imagine (Ephesians 3:20). We do nothing on our own. We don’t change ourselves-God changes us. Grow your relationship with Him through prayer and reading His word - that’s how our spirit is fed. The enemy Satan is a PUNK. Don’t give him credit he doesn’t deserve. When you feel him trying to invade your thoughts and your flesh, speak the name JESUS! -and watch what happens. (James 4:7, James 1:13-16, 1 Cor. 10:13) Stay focused on what’s important. SUCCEED. (Philippians 4:68) In His Service, Yuri K. Luckette #679441 (AFM)

Shout out to Jimmy Nash, and all of the brothers from Michael and Wynne Unit that know me, first Brother Mouton on Wynne, “sing me a song” about Jesus! It was June 2011, I was on the rec yard at 3 Bldg. Michael Unit where I was assaulted, and life flight to East Texas Medical Center, once I returned to Michael’s I was shipped to Wynne, after 19 years worth of set-offs on the Michael’s Unit for a non-aggravated case I made parole on the Wynne Unit. While on Michael’s Unit I never asked God for parole, I always pray asking whatever the answer let it be His will not mine. I thought I had a relationship with God, but I didn’t have the feeling and I knew something was missing, so I prayed for God to strengthen my faith, because Brother Jimmy Nash taught me that having a relationship with God is based on faith. So that’s why I was shipped to Wynne, they have a “faith base program” on Wynne, then I went to a program called “Life Changes” and it was there that I read Ephesians 4:20-32, and on that day I quit gambling. I was working in the kitchen as a line waiter, and I stopped stealing from the State. I had a cellie, and I ask him to help me stop cursing, and he put me on a push-up program and it helped me stop cursing, and I gave myself to God, and I changed my life, I ask God, I said God I am concerned that I might turn my back on you once I’m released, I said God you know all things if you think I will turn my back on you then don’t let me make parole until you know I’m ready, after that prayer I made parole, then I seen an old guy that worked in the kitchen, and I said Brother Lott, I made parole would you please give me your name and number, I know you never go to the store, I will send you some $ when I get out so you can buy you a fan, you know what he said to me, “they ain’t never going to let you out on parole”, Guess what? After that my mother’s address got shot down, then six months after I got my FI-1 a SSI came up to my cell one morning and woke me up telling me my cellie was in the dayroom and needed 3 stamps until the doors roll, so I got up and gave them to him, he went downstairs and the Rover shook him down and found a SIMS card on him, and everything is history, I’m on Allred in “high security” with a year set-off for Institutional Adjustment. “ALL PRAYERS ACCEPTED”. TO MY WONDERFUL, AWESOME and MAN OF GOD! YOU’RE MY HUSBAND, KING and CHOCOLATE STAR FOR LIFE! I AM SO VERY PROUD OF YOU, MR. MICHAEL LEWIS HOWARD. FROM WHERE YOU CAME TO MOST DEFINITELY ALL THE PLACES YOU ARE GOING, WITH THE GUIDANCE OF THE MOST HIGH GOD ALMIGHTY!!! HE IS USING YOU IN THERE AS I AM BEING USED ON THE OUTSIDE TOO! ONCE YOU ARE HOME, WE AS A TEAM WILL DO ALL THE THINGS THAT SERVE GOD’S MISSION. That INCLUDES SHY and VIRGIL’S TDOTLM and LIZ ‘S BIC MINISTRIES!!! THEY HAVE BEEN SO ENCOURAGING TO US and SO MANY OTHERS AS WELL. SO WE WILL GIVE BACK IN MANY WAYS. I LOVE YOU BABY MUCH MORE THAN WORDS COULD EVER SAY. YES I AM SO THANKFUL THAT GOD SHOWED US HIS GRACE and MERCY THRU EVERYTHING HE’S BROUGHT US OUT OF. WE COULD NEVER HAVE DONE ANY OF IT WITHOUT GOD IN OUR LIVES. ALL PRAISES TO HIM. YOU ARE MY SOUL MATE 4 LIFE!!! I MISS YOU MICHAEL WITH EVERY BREATH I TAKE and EACH BEAT OF MY HEART!!! GOD IS BRINGING YOU HOME TO US, YOUR FAMILY, CAUSE HOME IS WHERE YOU BELONG. AMEN! FROM YOUR WIFE, QUEEN, and SNOW BUNNY! MRS. SANDRA HOWARD Virgil and Shyrolon Wilson: Happy Ministry Anniversary and thanks for all yall do for us. I personally want to THANK YOU BOTH for your prayers & spiritual guidance in my marriage to Michael. I started out BOLDLY believing that our marriage will be a good example to people on how God's love can get you through anything. I became so busy and distracted with other things, that not only did I give the devil a foot hole, he thought he could actually camp out at Gigi's place. NOW that I'm restored, I KNOW that God will LOVE you through any AND everything. As Christians, we have to "own up to our sin/stuff/mess-ups/mistakes/drama because the world is watching us ~ Satan tries to make us think that God lies to us ~BUT GOD never leaves or forsakes us.....and HE KEEPS PROVING HIMSELF. What an amazing and mighty God we serve. Shy, THANK YOU. I mean that from the top, bottom and all the sides of my heart. There were ALOT of times I felt like no one cared b/c no one called or seemed concerned. When you realize that the people that you have surrounded yourself with don't agree or believe in your marriage, it can ALMOST destroy you. I had to learn that it's ok because this is MY assignment. Everyone will not agree, but I still have to be me. I have a husband that constantly and consistently tells me that he loves me and would give his life for me. Oh, how blessed I am. Thank YOU Jesus for allowing Shy and Virgil to pray me through this. Shy, I will never forget what you said, I will never forget what you did. I'm grateful that on this journey, I've got yall to love me T H R O U G H… Virgil, this woman would not let me make it on the "drama". She would always tell me, "what does the Word say?" I would try to stay away and she would find me. I would be mad and she didn't care about that, she wanted me to GET IT TOGETHER. I remember one time, she listened, waited for me to dry my tears and said with so much love, "now while you're tripping, don't you know that Michael needs you to be strong, can't you imagine what the devil is telling him." Yes, I finally got it together. If this is what I have out here, I can imagine how awesome your assignment is inside there. I say that, to say, I LOVE YALL & I DECREE & DECLARE GOD'S AMAZING BLESSINGS ON YOUR LIVES AND IN YOUR MINISTRY. THANK YOU. T H A N K Y O U. tHaNk YoU. Thank You. Thank you for accepting the assignment to strengthen and restore AND more importantly, thank yall for not abandoning the assignment. Regina DreShonn "GiGi" Reynolds
