Our Vision

The mission of “The Day of the Lord Ministries” is to embrace offenders, ex-offenders, and their family members with love through the various groups under our umbrella; to assist them in becoming equipped with the things they’ll need to be productive citizens, and loving family members.

Membership in The Day of The Lord Ministries includes all persons participating in any of the stated Ministries who choose to embrace our stated vision and values

To be an instrument through which the power of the Holy Spirit can minister to offenders, exoffenders, and their family members. Causing them to be self confident as they learn their purpose; to develop a new attitude toward their circumstance and rise above it.

“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savoir, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 “WHAT IS CHRISTMAS?” Every year people from all around the world, and of all ethnic groups go in debt buying and exchanging gifts on December 25th. That is the date that has been handed down through many generations as the day to celebrate Christmas (the birth of Christ). How that date was chosen I can’t say, but there’s no scripture reference to indicate what day our Savior was born. Then somewhere along the way Santa Claus started being affiliated with Christmas, and you have people celebrating this day for all the wrong reasons. In the Great Commission Jesus told His disciples: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20). Personally, I haven’t found nowhere in Scripture where Jesus commanded His disciples to “observe” His birth. I’m not saying that those who celebrate Christmas are wrong for doing so. Because Romans 14:5-6 informs us to let each one of us be “fully convinced” as to why we esteem one day above another. I simply want all believers to know why they celebrate Christmas. I believe we all would be better off if we celebrated the birth of Christ everyday. That we give and help those in need everyday, and not just during the holiday season. Jesus said when you do for those in need; you have done it for Him (Matthew 25:34-40). The birth, death, and resurrection of Christ are a very significant part of history. If you celebrate them on the dates appointed by man, be sure you know why!

Be Blessed! Virgil L. Wilson Sr.

I love my husband…and he is coming home This was spoken by a woman that attends the support group, Wives With Incarcerated Husbands. When she would say this everyone laughed and agreed to her endearment and heart-felt love for what the future holds. I have always felt that the relationship of a man in white and that of a woman in the free world was extremely unique. By this, marriage is hard enough when you get to see one another daily, crowding space, stealing the covers in the night, belching, farting and all that goes with the “I do’s”. But to clearly accept the heart of another, that only joins in written communication or a few hours to visit…now that is LOVE. I have had the privilege to meet some amazing women that have devoted themselves to a life such as this, a marriage that exists in a single life. Have you really considered what happens when he does come home? Are you prepared to go beyond the physical pleasures of romance and satisfaction? Have you developed a sense of unconditional patience to go the long road with your husband? Know that the life that your husband lived before getting to wear white, halted right there. Things have changed and they are not able to go back to pick up life as they knew it 20 plus years ago. What are you doing to prepare for real life? I love my husband…and he is coming home. Not only will a change take place in his life, by coming home, but a change in your life. You will no longer have the independence you valued. You will be on a rollercoaster of emotions. Have you prepared a home for him, not just stuff. Have you considered what a healthy marriage entails? Can you fully support that fragile emotion, called the male ego? I love my husband…and he is coming home. Can you understand when you can’t understand? I love my husband…and he is coming home. For the husbands, that will be coming home to a loving woman. Can you realize that life will be different, no more letter writings, but actually using words that can be spoken face to face. No more reacting in prison mentality, but in the freedom of Christ as a man. No more physical altercations or mental game playing, but truly living the commandments and demands of God’s word. Ephesians 5:21 to the end of the chapter will help you to love your wife as Christ loves, support your wife as Christ supports, sacrifice as Christ sacrifice. Be the man of God, not just a form of godliness. Step up and be honest before the Lord, get the help you need to feel and truly say, I love my wife…and I will be home. The atmosphere is moving and change is happening, be a part of the change for what God sees in you both, husbands and wives. Form a healthy habit of living in your relationship with one another. You and your wife are a circle of ONE. Written by: Ramona Jackson Building the Kingdom Community Church

SOMEBODY IS LISTENING MINISTRY MINISTER MICHAEL HOWARD P.O. BOX 543004 DALLAS, TX 75354 IT’S PRAYER TIME God Almighty, I know your powers and I know your mighty strengths, I ask that you deliver me from all addictions and bondage that has kept me from being and doing my best. I know Lord that you and only you can and will deliver me from this evil. Help me to arm myself with strength and hope. Help those around me to give me sound and Godly advice. AMEN Hello Brothers and Sisters, I want to say that TDOTLM loves you and we are all family. No matter what experiences we go through in life, God still loves us. Sometimes we may not feel like it, but life offers (the world) all things except salvation. In saying that I just want to share some verses with you to encourage you and to remind you and myself! Phil 4: 4-7; Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Mark 11:24-25; Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Just as David, we all reap what we sow. Sowing and reaping must take place for transformation, earthly consequence must go on. God does not remove consequences. He didn't do it for David and He will not do it for us. We are not supernatural. Demons don’t mind that you are smart with intelligence, demons hate obedience to God. They will do all they can to steer you wrong. Satan will continue. Matthew 8:29 tells us these demons know Jesus and they know us too because we are children of God. As God’s children we often forget we have power over these evil beings. We all forget what Jesus did to save the world, we often forget to love, to forgive, to repent, and to turn from our wicked ways. Just an ungodly thought is wicked, just talking about a person behind their backs is wicked, just the thought brothers/sisters of hate is wicked. Why? Because Jesus loved his enemies...But we? Make peace with your enemies and find out what the peace and joy of God is. John 1: 10-13 God is telling us that He was in the world and though the world was made through Him the world did not receive Him. We owe God our loves and we often forget. BE BLESSED. I love you all. Minister Michael Howard SHOUT OUT: To: My Big Bro. Virgil & Sis. Shy Words can never express what this newsletter means. God did a good thing when He bonded you two in marriage. You two are beautiful people. Me and Sandra love you guys and will continue to stand with you in whatever, because the friendship is more important than life itself, because life will sometimes lie and mislead you, but real friends will never do that and we thank you two from the bottom of our hearts. We love you guys! Brother Michael & Sister Sandra SHOUT OUT: To: Michael Green @ Goree Trusty Camp; please forgive me for not getting back at you. I’ve been in school, trying to get this free education (smile). Bro. pray for me cause I need it and I know you are a prayer warrior for Jesus Christ. Pray for our church and all our marriages and that you Bro. By the time you get this we’ll be going on 3 str8 wins! We going to the Bowl this year! GO COWBOYS!!! Min. Michael Howard, Dallas, TX

“A RESPONSE TO YURI “SOLO” LUCKETTE” “I’M FOCUSED” Scripture Reading: “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17). Let’s Pray: FATHER, it is my earnest desire that you be glorified, so I decrease...that you might increase, in JESUS’ name, Amen. Beloved, after reading your response to what I wrote in regards to “Trayvon Martin,” I felt the need to answer you back…”only to make clear what exactly it was that I were communicating.” but before I proceed in doing so, let me say this - “as a humbled servant of GOD’s, I do stand to be corrected whenever I’m in {error}; furthermore, I actually welcome it, because it only serves to make me better.” With that said, though you spoke remarkably well in your response...making some very (valid) points...in which I am in absolute agreement with, you also “misread” what my heart was actually saying (and I say that in the spirit of love, so please do not take offense). In my putting emphasis on the “LACK OF JUSTICE FOR BLACK FOLK,” I was (NOT) speaking from the balcony of being a radical bitter pro-black racist (because I’m not that at all), but rather from the monument of “historical (facts).” I do not deny at all that other races suffer injustice as well, but let’s be (REAL), “not even their most extreme cases can compare to what (black folk) have suffered and still do suffer. And when I expressed in my writings how (angry) I was when Zimmerman was found (NOT GUILTY), as a Christian, my brother, I was simply having a {HUMAN EXPERIENCE}...something that every authentic Christian will encounter in his/her life at some point in their Christian journey. But understand this one thing my friend, “I DIDN’T ALLOW MYSELF TO BE GOVERNED BY HOW I FELT!” I am mature enough in my faith to know that “IT IS NOT ABOUT HOW (I) FEEL...WHAT I LIKE/OR DISLIKE, BUT AS YOU STATED, IT’S ABOUT GOD AND HIM BEING GLORIFIED.” and that’s what I was conveying in my message...in a very honest, transparent, yet and still, GODLY way. " How God called me to Ministry" - Part 9 Alonzo D Fuller #604169, Clements Unit 9601 Spur 591, Amarillo, Texas 79107 THE PROPHET’S MINISTRY Standing in any ministry office is a serious matter. It is an awesome responsibility to be called to stand in the Prophet’s Ministry, or any ministry office for that matter. Many esteem these things lightly and pay no attention to the severity and harm they can cause to their own lives and the lives of others. I’ve mentioned it before and will mention it again, please don’t get taken up with names and titles, because ministry gifts are in Power. If any of you are called to the ministry, it ought to be clearly distinguishable what you are and what your call is. You shouldn’t have to go around telling people what your calling is by giving yourself titles and ministry labels. People will know what you are by your spiritual equipment and endowments. I made that grave mistake after hearing for the very first time the Divine Voice, who called me to the prophet’s ministry. I was a novice and a babe in Christ and undeveloped in spiritual things. I didn’t have the spiritual wisdom and maturity to discern sound doctrine nor handle spiritual things. So, after hearing Him speak and calling me to the Prophet’s Ministry in April 2005, I went around telling everyone that I heard the voice of God and said that I was the Lord’s Prophet. I can imagine what Joseph must have felt like after telling his brothers about two dreams, “...they hated him yet the more.” (Genesis 37:5) I remember experiencing similar resentment from my friends. I was criticized by my own family. I was mocked by many, and my brethren did not believe me. I now understand why God allowed me to plainly hear His voice on April 5, 2005, because I know He called me to the ministry. Without a divine call to the ministry, many will easily give up because the price for ministry is great. A prophet is a ministry gift given by God to the church. No one can make himself a prophet or call himself to be a prophet. God alone calls and sets prophets in the church. A prophet’s primary purpose and main ministry is to preach or teach, or to be both. Prophesying is not the main part of his or her ministry. And yes, God has also called women to the prophetess ministry. Judges 4:4 (Deborah); Luke 2:36 (Anna); 2 Kings 22:14 (Huldah); and Exodus 15:20 (Miriam). Prophesying is only a small part of his ministry. I believe God is raising up and anointing men and women to preach and teach that His plans for the church under the New Covenant are different than His dealings were with Israel under the Old covenant. You see, people under the Old Covenant were not born-again. god couldn’t deal with them in the Spirit because their spirits hadn’t been recreated and born-again. on the other hand, under the New Covenant, our spirits have been recreated in the same image and likeness of God; therefore, God can deal with us in the Spirit as born-again children of God. The Holy Ghost opened my understanding where I saw the difference between the OT prophet versus the NT prophet. That is where many people miss it today. they try to give the NT prophet the same status as the OT prophet, and he doesn’t have the same status. Many people have misunderstood the office of the prophet because they expect the prophet to act like those prophets in the bible and always be prophesying over people. Actually, the prophet’s ministry is operating many times and the people don’t even recognize it. Its often in manifestation as he preaches or teaches prophetically to people’s needs in his messages. The Holy Ghost directs him what to say, and it is exactly what the people need to hear. For example, I hold Rec-Yard services during our recreation time in the evenings. Many times I get to teaching and say things spontaneously that I didn’t know I was going to say, but I’m ministering to the men prophetically in my teachings. The prophet's ministry is in operation, but the men miss it because they are waiting for the spectacular and they miss the supernatural. Very often, I minister prophetically to the needs of the men in my messages because I am more sensitive to spiritual things and to the spiritual needs of the congregation. I am very sensitive to people’s spiritual needs during meetings, and I know what the Holy Ghost wants to say and do in the people’s midst. I can’t get up to teach inspirational unless I spend much time in preparation before the Lord. God can’t pull the Word out of my spirit, if I don’t spend time putting the Word into my spirit. This is very important for prophet’s to do - spend time in studying the Word, in prayer and waiting before God. This is only the beginning of the prophet’s ministry, and just one aspect to his functions. Expect More, and God will give you more. Be Blessed

LOVE James 2:8 “If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well.” Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus I just wanted to remind each of you, we must walk in love! 1 John 4:20 “If a man say, I love God and hateth his brother , he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? So all of us professing to be Christians, but hating a brother or sister is a liar. And I must show you who’s child you are. John 8:44 “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” I can understand how some people may seem to make it look or feel impossible to love them, but what I found was Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” So, its not the person, but the tricks and schemes of Satan. Sometimes, we have to love people from a distance when they are being idle and allowing Satan to use them often. Also, my brothers and sisters in white, when you don’t get mail from home or no one puts money on your books. It makes it feel hard to love them when you have to face all you face without their support and presence in your time of need. I’m in white and have seen and been through my share of tests and trials in that area, BUT GOD! Pray about it and leave it with God, and watch how God will expand your heart to love them with a love you never knew you had. By loving them in spite of, you will see a window in heaven open up to you and pour out blessing on top of blessing. In closing I want to leave you with this, know matter what you are facing or what you maybe up against, I beg you to just choose to walk in love. I love all of you and in this holiday season let’s eat from the table God has prepared for us. THE HOLY BIBLE… YSIC ONE LOVE MINISTRIES YOLONDA WILSON #1468610 (HOBBY UNIT) Remember brother s and sisters, there will come a day, when we will have to give an account of our words spoken and deeds done here on earth! RECORD KEEPERS

Men of Valor & Power

Many of the best “record keepers” are people with a pride problem. They count up everything others do wrong, but fail to realize that in many instances, they do the same things they are judging others for doing. “Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.” - Romans 2:1 Me and my wife are newlyweds. We only been married a little over a year, but been together 4 years in total. Now of the nearly 3 years as friends and a year and something married. We could have been a “record keeper”, of all the wrong the other one has done; and use it as ammunition against each other. Record keepers does this very thing, especially in the Christian community. You can always tell a “record keeper”, because their always talking about the wrong someone else is doing or have done. And believe me, if they’re telling you of the wrong of someone else, you can best believe they’re keeping a record of all your faults as well. Record keepers, have a record of all the wrong unbelievers done, other religions done, and of course their own brothers and sisters in the faith has done. They have recorded and kept every time you didn’t speak to them, borrowed something and didn’t give it back, they even got on record all the times you fell as a Christian and can’t wait until you get out of line with them to use it as ammunition against you. Even though scripture says, “for a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again…” (Pro. 24:16). Or even the scriptures which reads, “He has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” - Psalm 103:10-12 God is love, and if He is no “record keeper,” and we want to be like Him; then should not we develop the same habit? “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.” - Ephesians 5:1 If anyone should judge, it’s God. Don’t be a “record keeper” or even listen to the judgmental words of a “record keeper.” to not be a “record keeper,” drop it, leave it, and let it go when it comes to trying to keep a record of someone else's wrong! - We love you at MVP/WVP Ministries.

“WORK AS A TEAM” Written by: Pastor Decaso Woods From The Heart Ministries Have you ever come to know and admire someone of great gifts and ability in the Body of Christ only to discover later that their health would malfunction? Then it seems like your life is at a stand still, and all you can do is stay grounded in rooted praying, caring for this person showing your servitude. The Bible states in Colossians 4:12 Paul had a friend in Colosse a man working in his corner name Epaphras, who was a man of prayer. His prayer was a hopeful meaning that his people would stand firm. And I believe we… “THE BODY OF CHRIST” should stand firm together as a team spreading the Gospel and always stay one accord in prayer. This is why today my brothers and sisters in Christ I am in great need of prayer from you. I received some bad news about my Dad; his cancer is getting worse and he’s very sick. Also my mother’s health is not good. And my brother in Christ Mr. Danny Dowell had a heart attack, and my brother in Christ Mr. Lawrence Hodges had a heart attack as well and is about to receive surgery on his heart. I would like to apologize for my delays. Mr. Virgil congratulations for your graduation. Thank you both Mr. Virgil Wilson and Shy Wilson. You both have caring hearts. I ask God to provide for you, bless you, and keep you doing His perfect will. Thank you church for standing in prayer with me. My prayer to you is Dear Father God please continue to knit together your people The Body of Christ to be a stronger team, please God help is to be unified in our desire to work as a team.

“LOVE” Why is this world so black and white; why is there so much pain? Why can’t man just love other man; our lives are so insane. There’s just no joy when the heart is heavy; or the child who can’t find their way. So sad it is when life has no value; and no promise to see another day. War is the core of each waking day; and death such a common thing. Why suffer the child whose innocence true; whose not promised to see the spring. Why is it so hard to extend a hand; and help another man? Cause his skin is different, only one trait; test his heart if you can open your eyes and behold true life; a world which holds no fear. Give thought to the birth of a brand new child; how did that babe get here. The sun does shine on this part of the world; but the same is across the sea. The stars so twinkle and moon is bright; and all dreams can someday be. We must hold tight to realities hand; and strive to live in truth, encourage each other to spread a love; and teach it to our youth. I can shout to all from mountain high; that love is good indeed, as the clouds float by with a message for all; Yes! We can succeed. Let go of sorrow and shun what was; and renew your heart through love. No earthly power, no mighty dollar; can match the strength of love. Search as you may to the ends of the earth; it will all just be in vain. For as I look in my mirror I can see the love; does yours reflect the same. Created to serve and teach life true; to mankind with a heart so pure. We’re blessed by God who knows our plight; and gives strength for us to endure. Why’s it so hard to love one another; yet destruction is the choice we make. What will we leave for our children to cherish; make it love for only their sake. By: Danny R. Dean Goree Unit

The Christian Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston, Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from God and keep quiet.' When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.' The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren' t you the new preacher in town? “Yes” he replied. “Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.' When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.' Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -You carry the name of Christ on your Shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.' Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

ACTIVE FRONTLINE MINISTRIES YURI “SOLO” LUCKETTE What does it take to get through our grief from losing someone we love? If we don’t know the answer to this question, we will end up feeling weak, joyless, crushed, bitter, and hard. Here’s what we should do: 1. Be sad for a time - recognize the brokenness of humanity. Don’t think your faith in God prevents you from feeling sad. Those who have passed on deserve our sadness. They are worthy of that. 2. Search the scriptures - immerse yourself in God’s word to see how He interacts with us concerning suffering. This world will be different at Christ’s return. These are promises we can stand on. (Daniel 12:2, Psalm 116:15, Psalm 18:6, Psalm 27:14, Psalm 34:17-19, Psalm 40:1-3, Psalm 55:22, Isaiah 25:8-9, 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, Revelation 21:1-8) 3. Don’t be resentful towards those who don’t seen to share your grief or aren't concerned with yours. Forgive them. God has forgiven us. 4. Make some hard choices - our grief keeps us feeling close to the person we’ve lost. We must come to a place where we give our grief away and allow it to be released from us. It doesn’t mean we don’t love or miss that person. Allow God our healer to do His work in us. The person we lost isn’t defined by our ongoing misery and hurt. How can we best honor their memory? But what about forgiveness? What if our love one was killed by someone, or someone has done something to us that we’re still holding on to? When we refuse to give forgiveness and mercy to someone, or, refuse to reconcile and accept their apology, in essence, this is what we’ve done: 1.

If it’s someone we know, we never really loved them in the first place. Love covers all.

2.

We’ve allowed pride to defeat us. With pride in our life, we’ll never grow spiritually.

3.

We’ve allowed Satan to win. He hates unity and peace in our lives and does all he can to disrupt our lives and make us miserable. His goal is to destroy us and tear apart relationships.

4.

Last, we’ve put ourselves above God. God has forgiven us all and shown us His grace and mercy through Jesus Christ. Are you above God? (Matthew 5:14-15)

BECOME AN OFFENSE! BY: Michael Kimmel Matthew 11:6 “And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me”. Isaiah 8:14… a stone of stumbling and a Rock of offense”. Don’t let truth offend you! Jesus was a Rock of offense to many! (Matt. 13:57) But for the right reasons, there are right reasons for being an offense (which is more than justified) and wrong reasons (1 Cor. 10:32). Let me explain! If a person is offended cause you tell them Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one can get to the Father but through Him and there is not any other Name given among men by which we must be saved, save Jesus Christ! This is a good offense to bring about! If you’re an offense because of your lack of love (which is the greatest attribute that signifies us a believer) which we all are at times, disobedient to His Word. Then this is the wrong offense and actually God opposes this too! (Romans 1:18,19) is talking about us (me included) who know the Truth but suppress it in unrighteousness! Meaning if your speaking the Truth, but not living it, the wrath of God is against that! When your words and actions agree you don’t suppress the Truth, but give evidence or a reason for others to believe that which you witness or give testimony to. And you can be sure as His wrath is against those who suppress His Truth revealed to them (talking about believers cause we’re the only ones who have His Truth) you can also be sure His favor is on us who give evidence to His Truth! So words are meaningless if not accompanied by actions! See (Romans 2:13) understand (Matthew 21:28-32) pay attention to v. 31! So when someone says they gave witness or testimony it usually means their actions not words! According to scripture in Hebrews it explains actions and says “...obtained a good testimony.” (Hebrews 11:2) How did they obtain it? By faith working with their works (actions)! James 2:17 it even says that “...no one receives His testimony. (John 3:32) I believe its talking about His actions not words! Cause they use to say “Teacher we know you are true, and teach the way of God in Truth; nor do you care about anyone, for you do not regard the person of men.” (Matt. 22:16). See they knew His Words to be true, but didn’t accept His living witness! So too, are we, who follow God, will cause offense! For offense must come! (Matt. 18:7) Don’t be afraid of offense it is necessary! Jesus battled daily and if you are His, you will too! So become a little rock of offense for the right reason by displaying His life in you! Let the life of the Son be seen in you! And when the offense comes blessed are you when you are persecuted (cursed, ridiculed, mocked or whatever) for His Name sake! (Matt. 5:11, 12) But note it does say “evil against you falsely”! So make sure its for the right reason like sharing the gospel, speaking out against wrongs, etc. and if that be the case you are blessed! And for those timid believers, you ever wonder why the scripture say “the cowardly, unbelieving, etc.” right along with “murderers and sexual immoral” will have their part in the lake of fire? (Rev. 21:8) well because true believers speak out and know persecution is the norm, not the exception! Beware friendship with the world is enmity with God! (James 4:4) So if everything is well and everyone outside the body of Christ loves you, you may be a coward! Oops! Did I offend you? I hope so, that way you will turn away from complacency and step out and speak up for God! Jesus said “Does this offend you?” (John 6:61-71) He knows who is His and He knows who the Judas is too! So I want to encourage you brothers and sisters in Christ to be an offense! Jesus was an offense! Aren’t you trying to emulate Him? Isn’t He the Truth that you desire? Let Him live through you! If you have been cowardly in the past ask God for forgiveness, cause that is a sin! You’re suppressing the Truth so you can be “safe and comfortable” in the flesh! But I’d rather be uncomfortable in the flesh and safe and secure in the spirit! But if you fail there is Grace! Thank God for that, cause even I haven’t represented for Christ every time I should have! But I’m striving to speak out every chance I get and I’ll endure what may come, gladly! So no! I’m not trying to beat you down but build you up! If we all walk in love and obey the Lord as we should we’ll have the greatest impact! Be encouraged and do not fear man, “for the fear of man brings a snare” but the fear of the Lord and to obey His commandments is man’s all! (Ecclesiastes 12:13) the world walks around singing unholy songs and pressing their agenda’s on us! So we ought to walk around singing praises to our God. We don’t won’t to hear perversity all day but that’s what goes on, so, so what if they don’t want to hear “all that God talk stuff!” that’s a double standard! Speak up for God and fear God alone and you will have great rewards in eternity and in my experience people will respect you more for not compromising if they see you living the Word! God bless you and become an offense for the right reason! Then you will be more like Christ and less like the world! Please keep me in prayer, I’m in constant battle and honestly I need all the “help” prayer I can get! Thanks!

I would like to share with you brothers and sisters. About a couple months ago, I was teaching a group of men in a life change group “called LCG about a phrase we use all the time. “WHAT IF”? IF is a conjunction which the word has to be connect to another word to give it a real meaning to a question, or the condition or in the event that despite the possibility that “whether or whenever, it seem like we tend to think that “what if” give us a way to create a image of a possibility to change some that took place. I do believe that most of us don’t understand that only if we could go back to change what happen, how will that change our mind state now. I do realize that most thing in life tend to drag us to a place were real is fake and fake is real. I have seen so many fake it to make, which cause the if to underline their way of saying only if I knew it would be like this, I could have stop it. God doesn’t break us with fake words, issues or problems, but “what if” we didn’t get lock up where would you be right now? Does Abraham change the fate of Sodom with his “what if” there’s 50 righteous people in the city? No why? Cause what Abraham didn’t understand was his choice of words created a possibility for Lot to found favor with God (Gen. 18:23-33) how about Cain, does the “what if” change what Cain had done (Gen. 4: 6-7) No? cause if, if was a 5 than there no real room to understand the mind of God. I read a lot of my brothers and sisters letters and some times we have to understand and realize that the “what if” are just a part of our sinful mind trying to find a way to do away with the hardship that has taken place in our lives. My daughter Naija who by chance has a way of loving me in her own way. Do I created a “what if” to birth what I feel is right? NO cause no matter what it’s God who brings the impossibility to life to show us that, He is not a man that should lie nor the son of man to repent. Remember when the devil took Jesus upon the high temple and showed Him the kingdom of this world and their glory. The word “their” means “somebody” “anybody” and “everybody” he show Jesus the thought of man, their minds and what man had done. Jesus went to the cross to gain what lost to us… I been locked up for a long time, I’ve seen so many Christmas and Thanksgivings that its just another day to me. Sometimes it does get hard and the problem get bigger and bigger. Only if things were different we can change it but it’s not, we have to face the “what if’s” and not let the devil use us with those lies of. I want to share some with you brothers and sisters. I found about a couple of years ago some about my mother and father that cut me deep. Now I always loved my grandmother more that my mother, I couldn’t understand why she would tell me I was a mistake. When my brother was alive, she would beat me when he done some wrong. As a little baby she put a cigarette out on my neck, which I still have till this day. So I always hate her, even thought about killing myself cause of the lack of love from her. I would say, “what if” Aunt Fay was my mom things wouldn’t be like this. Well Carolyn told me a dark secret about my side of the family. It was told to me that mu own grand mom sold my mother to a man name Robert Davis at a young age. My mom hate him and I was born not in love but pure hate, so my mother would turn to drugs to help her with her issues, when I find this out I was messed up, and as a man of God I was hurt. But then my mother who I never want to speak to again cause of Franklin dying, came to visit me for the first time in 14 years. There was no “what if’s”, this woman is my mother who gave me life, and I really did understand why she done what she done. In that visitation room I hugged my mother while she cried. Still till this day they don’t know I know this, but no matter what I do or say, if only they would love me and treat me as family it would help me. We don’t have to question ourselves no more, what’s done is done. I realize a lot of us are without family, you do have family and that’s the family of Jesus Christ. So next time don’t ask yourself “what if”, just trust God He will see you through it. I want to shout out to Melika Hunter who I pray she understand my love for her. To my daughter Naija, I love you so much and I do hope one day you will let me be apart of your life.Shy my sister in Christ, I pray for you and your husband so much. The hour and days you put into what you love most. I believe that God will not only help you but also open doors for you and Virgil for 2014, it’s a big one so get ready, and please know that what God told you in 2013, He will make it better in 2014. Michael Howard; Bro I got your letter and will be writing you back soon. Brothers and Sisters by grateful for what you got, some have less than that. I do labor with you all, Have a BLESSED Christmas and a BLESSED New Year’s. IN HIS LOVE, Deacon Robert Give. Back. Ministries Isaiah 50:4

FOR MY YOUNG BROTHERS The word for this month is nothing fancy nor long, but something fairly simple. I’m sure a lot of you know what OPTIMISM is. You know, “looking at the glass as being half full, rather than seeing it as half empty.” Webster states: “Optimism is the belief that a good ultimately prevails over evil.” You know, something like what David did with Saul, the King, when all of the aged men were scared to fight Goliath. But David told King Saul, “Look, let me go fight. I’ve defeated lions and bears, surely this Philistine will be as one of them. If the Lord delivered the beast into my hands, surely he will do the same with this Philistine.” Now he was optimistic! Even though David was young, and still a shepherd, he talked freely and with boldness, not just to the King, but also to Goliath, the Philistine. He didn’t get caught up with how big Goliath was, or his death toll. Instead, he stood on his faith in God. He overcame and won. I’m encouraging you, if you are going through anything, don’t look at how big your problem seems. Instead, look at how big your God is. Stand on the Word of God. If you don’t know any promises right off hand, here’s Romans 8:28, which says, “all things work together for the good to them who love God and are called according to His purpose. Note: The verse says, “all things”, not some things, neither did it say it will feel good. But certainly all things will work for your good. Stay optimistic brothers. Be bold, just like David, and speak to your situation with the faith that God will SHOW UP & SHOW OUT!!! P.S. If you want to check out the story about David and Goliath yourself, you’ll find it at 1st Samuel Chapter 17. Your Brother, Young Elite!!!

*TWAS THE NIGHT JESUS CAME* Twas the night Jesus came, and all through the house, not a person was praying, not one in the house. The Bible was left on the shelf without care, for no one thought Jesus would even come there. The children were dressing to crawl into bed, not once ever kneeling or bowing their heads. Mom in the rocker with baby on her lap was watching the Late Show as I took a nap. When out of the East there arose a clatter, I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters and lifted the sash. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but Angels proclaiming, “Jesus Is Here”. The light of His face made me cover my head, it was Jesus returning just like He had said. And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth, I cried when I saw Him, in spite of myself. In the Book of Life, which He held in His hand, was written the name of every saved man. He spoke not a word, as He searched for my name, when He said, “it’s not here”, my head hung in shame. People whose name had been written in love, He gather to take to His Father above. With those who were ready He rose without sound, while the others were left just standing around. I fell to my knees it was to late, I waited to long and thus sealed my faith. I stood and I cried, as they rose out of sight; Oh, if only I known, that this was the night. In the words of this poem, the meaning is clear, the coming of Christ, is always so near. There’s only one life and at the last call, we’ll find the Bible was true after all… Written by: Don LeBleu #428007 Michael Unit

TITLE: “EVEN HERE, THERE’S CHRISTMAS CHEER” BY: TIMOTHY HARDIN #904644 Though we may be confined right here, There’s still room in our heart’s for Christmas cheer! Hope is not lost, and we are not alone, Christmas is the reason we carry on… This is the season for sharing, For giving, loving and caring. It does not matter at all that we are here, There’s always room for Christmas cheer! Sometimes the prison is one of our own making, A confinement of the mind, not divine thinking. Let’s remember, that freedom comes from within, A gift from God, in Bethlehem. This is why we ought to hold holiday’s dear, Because we need to have Christmas cheer! Love and joy from the heart, we need this, A baby did his part; He was the true gift! It’s not about us, or how we feel, Emanuel became the gift for even those here! I will close now, but think on this please… Let’s enjoy this season, ornament’s, gifts, and trees, The wise men, and the manger, hold true right here; So anywhere we are, let’s all hold the season dear, Because even here there’s Christmas Cheer!!! THE HIGHWAY OF HOLINESS THROUGH ROUTE 66 During this Christmas Holiday I am reminded that millions of people will travel the highways all around the world to visit love ones. Highways are designed to take people to their desired location. But the Bible talks about the ultimate highway that many Christians travel to be with the Lord and it is called “The Highway of Holiness through Route 66”. I refer Route 66 as the 66 books of the Bible that tells us how to get there and it tells us if we are on the right highway. In Proverbs 16:17 tells us that the Highway of the upright avoids evil; those who guard their ways preserve their lives. So for the believers be mindful to avoid evil such as driving under the influence of drugs and booze because it will cause you to do evil things. Strive to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit it will cause you to do good things and preserve your life. Have you ever notice how old people who drink look and do drugs versus those who don’t? that is because they are wasting away fast; through drinking and drugs. Finally when you are traveling The Highway of Holiness there will be some signs up ahead, For example you will see a Yield sign that is the Lord telling you to slow down be anxious for nothing but in every situation by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving present your request to God. So many people are in a hurry to get married, change jobs, buy things when God is saying; “slow down”. You will see a Detour sign that means God is saying move to the right side there is trouble up ahead. You will even see a Go sign. God is saying there is a breakthrough up ahead. So look out for the signs and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR. Travel “The Highway of Holiness through Route 66”. Michael Unit Minister of Music David Wayne Brooks In the Key of “C”

THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING BIGGER FOR 2014 I want to give thanks to our Heavenly Father for making it possible for us to begin a new life in Christ and for the family of Christ in which we are all members. I would like to thank Virgil and Shy Wilson along with all of the Covenant Partners and Supporters of TDOTLM. Those outside and within the gates. It is through each of our contributions that allow us to fellowship through this ministry, in God’s will. I want to mention a few brothers and sisters by name: Bro. Fuller, Bro. Howard, Bro. Brooks, Bro. Evans, Sis. Gomez and Sis. Y. Wilson. I’ve read the words that God has placed on your heart to share with each of us, and I can hear God’s Word flowing through you. I want to encourage you (ALL) to continue to allow God to use you for His work. He will lead you if you ill trust in Him. (Prov. 3:5-6). Before I close I would like to encourage everyone who partakes of this newsletter (GOOD NEWS) to not only share it with your fellow inmates, but to your family, friends, and outside churches also. So that God’s word and ministry in TDOTLM may touch everyone. TDOTLM is not limited to prisoners only. We are just a small bunch of souls that was lost but have been found. Trust me, it’s more unsaved people on the outside than on the inside. The next time you write a letter, or call home, tell your family and friends to sign up for TDOTLM, help support this ministry, and lets spread the Word of God. May you all be blessed in the name of Jesus Your Brother, LaQuinstun Lewis

A REMINDER MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE! As I was going to eat I passed by the Officer’s Dining Room (ODR). I noticed an inmate decorating the ODR front window with decorations which stated, “Have a Joyous Season & Have a Happy New Year”. I said they have taken Christ out of Christmas. Where is Christ in Christmas? Another brother standing by name Jessie stated, “I had nothing to do with it”! The decorator said, “There is a little cross up there”. I said, I can’t see it! Let me remind you what Christmas is about. It’s about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ in the world. That’s why it’s called Christmas! It was prophesied in the Old Testament concerning the birth of Jesus Christ. “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a Virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call his name Immanuel”. Isaiah 7:14. This is fulfilled in Matthew 1:23 “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us”. This is spoken of in the book of Luke “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying...Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men”. Luke 2:11-13. This is a reminder as the Apostle Paul states, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, see of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory”. 1 Timothy 3:16 BE ENCOURAGED!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR! JESUS IS LORD!!! Jimmy Nash Co-Pastor, Church on The Rock Michael Unit

SIMPLY PUT: If your happiness isn't anchored in The Lord, then expect it to float away when troubled waters come. TRUTH: Some will criticize you for doing you, not realizing that they'd walk the same path if they had to walk in your shoes. I say that to say this: Some people can't fully enjoy their own life because they are too busy watching you so closely, waiting to see a mistake. So, make sure you give them a show.

*THAT IS THE HOLY SPIRIT* If we have found a warmth that is the sweetest thing we’ve know “That is the Holy Spirit.” If we heard a still voice that echoes in our heart “That is the Holy Spirit.” If we have felt a touch that stirs the longing in our heart “That is the Holy Spirit.” And still can feel that closeness in the time of need “That is the Holy Spirit.” If we are filled with wonder at the way the Holy Spirit can blend to weave a perfect pattern that is seamless, end to end… If we believe some things in life are simply meant to be, then you have truly found the Holy Spirit!!! “THAT IS THE HOLY SPIRIT: Merry Christmas to one and all & Happy New Year!!! Hey Baby Boy, I know we are going through a thunderstorm but just know I love you and I wish you a Happy Birthday and a Merry Christmas. The girls and I will miss you very much for the holidays but in spirit we are together and will be always. God is with us and will always be as long as we stay in faith and we will overcome this just as we have overcome everything else. I read the following online and felt like I needed to share it… Amen!!! Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." First of all I want to thank God and my wife in St. Louis Mo. For walking this 7 year journey with me. Now I want to thank my Texas partner Kendrick (Chris) Christopher; much love and respect. To Big O, or should it be Raymond dr. , to the Zone for keeping it real. To Mr. Davis, you know? To Minister of Music Tory, play one more contemporary song you’re fired. Shout outs to Quincy, Smokey, the Bear, the best facilitator Torres, my funnyman Lugnut, much respect to Mr. Charlie Boy Domino King. To all of 6 dorm, the program was a life changing experience for me and my family, I’ve met some really strong brothers in Christ but non stronger than Mr. Virgil Wilson aka “The Virge” dude is the most humbliest man I’ve ever met. You can see the presence of the Spirit in him. I have stole a lot of teachings from you “Virge” when you was expounding on lessons. Yeah I was listening and taking it all in. thank you for being true. I admire you & your wife relationship. Reminds me of mine. Stay prayed up all you brothers on Eastham. When I get back to St. Louis Mo. In 2014 I’ll never forget you guys. Shout out to Brother Peavey, saved you for last just to see of you were going to cry, ha! Gotcha! God bless & know that you know, that you know. Happy Holidays PS: I am taking Business Computer Information Systems at Trinity Valley Community College here on the Michael Unit. Church is nothing like the Ham. The Ham need to be televised, for real. Sam Richardson (St. Louis) #527777
