Happy New Year!  Once again, God has blessed us to see and experience one more year. 2013 will be the year that many of our incarcerated brothers and sisters will be placed back into society. Here at Eastham a great deal of our ministers who come in are ex-offenders, and they all have the same story - “you can make it if you keep God with you! If you are fortunate to be one who will be going home this year, I plead with you to honor and glorify God with all that you have. I know from experience that coming back to prison will cost you far more than you’ll be willing to pay. As I’ve heard many times, I truly believe God is raising up men and women in prison to take the gospel back to society. This year could very well be the year that God uses you to bring someone to Him that no one else was able to reach. Being that 2012 had many tragedies and misfortunes for many, we all need to

resolve in praying more in 2013. I keep up with current events by TV, radio, and reading, and its truly amazing to see what’s written in the word of God come to pass before our very eyes. But just like in the days of Noah, many just continue to live how they choose with no regard for God at all. That’s why us who have come to the saving knowledge of Christ while incarcerated need to get out and let our light shine that others may come to glorify God (Matthew 5:16)

very prosperous New Year. What you didn’t get around to doing, or mistakes you made, just know 2013 is another chance to get it right. Remember what Philippians 4:6-8 days, and Be Blessed!

On a different note, to my African American brothers and sisters, we know the struggle is not over. But as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let’s remember what he fought for and how he chose to fight. God will fight our battles for us regarding any injustice if we let Him. and I’ve learned that our greatest weapons against anything or anyone is - “forgiveness and love”! I dare you to try it! 

Our Vision

The mission of “The Day of the Lord Ministries” is to embrace offenders, ex-offenders, and their family members with love through the various groups under our umbrella; to assist them in becoming equipped with the things they’ll need to be productive citizens, and loving family members.

Membership in The Day of The Lord Ministries includes all persons participating in any of the stated Ministries who choose to embrace our stated vision and values

To be an instrument through which the power of the Holy Spirit can minister to offenders, exoffenders, and their family members. Causing them to be self confident as they learn their purpose; to develop a new attitude toward their circumstance and rise above it.

“For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state.’’ Philippians 2:20 “BEING TRUSTWORTHY” Timothy, whose name means: “one who honors God,” was going to be sent to the Philippians church by Paul so Paul could know of their well-being. Paul didn’t just choose anyone for this task, he chose someone whose character had been proven (vs. 22)! In life, and especially in the things of God, we should be trustworthy and be well spoken of. Our character and reputation should always precede us as it did Timothy. When the apostles were needed to continue in prayer and ministering God’s word, they sought out seven men of “good reputation” to distribute the daily goods (Acts 6:1-7). We all know of Joseph, (Genesis 37, 39-47) and how his character was proven. Joseph proved himself to God, so God allowed everyone else to take notice of him. Even when no one was around, Joseph held his integrity and did what was right (39:7-23). I’m very curious as to why Joseph’s master didn’t have him killed, such accusations in that time was deserving of death! I’m lead to believe that Joseph’s master didn’t truly believe the accusations against him because of his trustworthiness and proven character, so he spared his life. Our integrity and character will take us far in life, and open doors we’ve never thought possible. That integrity and character can only come from our trust and obedience to God. Be faithful over all that is entrusted to you, and God will reward you greatly just as he did Joseph.

Be Blessed! Virgil L. Wilson Sr.

ACTIVE FRONTLINE MESSAGE FOR JANUARY Even though the future seems far away, it is actually beginning right now, and while we are living in the present, we must learn to celebrate life everyday, knowing that we are becoming history with every word, every action, every moment. We, today, are the history of tomorrow. How are you making history, How will you be remembered? Have you acknowledged God in your life? If not, Why? Active Frontline Ministries Yuri K. SCRIPTURE OF THE MONTH BY REY P.: Romans 8: 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. “Don’t worry about the things you can’t control” In Matthew 6:25-34 because of the effects of worry, Jesus tells us to take no thought about our needs that God promises to supply. As we enter into the Christmas Season 2012 we must be mindful that worry can damage your health getting stressed out about Christmas. It also cause the object of your worry to consume your thoughts, thinking about your problems all day. Worry will also disrupt your productivity and you will fail to have a productive life that you once had. And most of all it reduce your ability to trust God. How many effects of worry are you experiencing? Here’s the difference between worry and genuine concern. Worry immobilizes, but concern moves to action. Always keep in mind that the same God who created life in you can be trusted with details of your life. Worry about your future hampers your effort for today. always know that worry is more harmful than helpful. Finally in Matthew 6:33 Jesus said to seek First the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. you might ask the question: what things will be added unto me? The things that you are worrying about. People objects, goals and other desires all compete for priority. Any of these can quickly bump God out of first place if you don’t actively choose to give him first place in every area of your life. Planning for tomorrow is time well spent, worrying about tomorrow is time wasted. Sometime it’s difficult to tell the difference. Careful planning is thinking ahead about goals, steps, and schedules and trusting in God’s guidance. When done well, planning can help alleviate worry. So don’t worry have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Don’t worry about the things you can’t control. From God’s Throne Room: Minister of Music, David Wayne Brooks - Michael Unit

This I dedicate to all the woman who don’t feel like the queens you are because we as men haven’t lived up to our potential kingship and as husbands and companions: “WOMAN” There’s nothing on this earth that could even take the place of you. for you can and do define man’s universe. For we are but fragile creatures and our time in this earth is very brief, most are born, live out their allotment span of time then die, affecting only the lives of our immediate families an perhaps a few friends. But for the woman of the world, either by design or fate, you are destined to touch the lives of others during your earthly sojourn. With the addition of woman in mans life he might feel he’s finally become whole, and if not whole then a better man, stronger, tougher, no matter what the future holds. For woman has shown man at the least glimpse of paradise although man will constantly have a companion named grief by his side, woman would forever whisper in his ear, reminding him that she would be his partner forever. Man lives his life out on the slippery slope of reality, yet, his woman always reminds him that there will never be a cold house whenever he’s ready to come inside. Woman is God’s most precious creation, the best he could offer man, Woman experiences through her man, she tastes grief, and hurt, yet, she’s the strength which always seem to brush aside- - - - the negatives and retain the positives of any situation. God direct the paths of many woman to cross and bring about a bond of love, sharing of secrets, for it’s apart of the ritual. This sharing can only touch more deeply within the hearts, thereby bringing moments to be cherished. God blessed you with the ability to give birth to extend the bloodline, thereby bestowing upon you a name more regal, queenly and true. You have the strength, continuance, perseverance, and wherewithal to stay dignified and true to whatever endeavor you may undertake. Sentimentalist is a virtue for you because you take to heart any endeavor regardless of how unfair, lovely or painful. You have the ability to provide even when your man has allowed his pride to take control. Even when man betrays your trust, you still love. Your children are the center of your world, even though at times they may go astray causing you grief and much loneliness. You understand fully the meaning of love and endurance. When all others shun you, you are there understanding the need to convey love, hope and strength. You are the ultimate pride of man and child. You were blamed for the fall of first man and many years later. Yet, you have prevailed and continue to get stronger. I extend to you woman from all us men my deepest respect, and ask for your forgiveness, because I have been guilty of mistreating, abusing, cheating, hurting and neglecting God’s most cherished creation given to man as a life long companion. Reality has dawned, and I reach for answers, hoping with the deepest of hope that you can find it within your heart to know just how sorry I am for my part toward you. I say with every fiber of my being that I truly love you. Woman, you are cherished, loved, appreciated, and above all blessed in every conceivable way, and always believe in your heart without doubt that because you have loved me, even in my most darkest hour, I will forever love, care and honor you. PS: Happy belated Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all and for my brothers at Eastham. May God Bless: Mr. Danny R. Dean (Goree Unit)

DROP YOUR HANDS First we must give God the Honor, Glory and Praise, for God is worthy to be praised. I would like to give thanks to my beloved Bro. & Sis. Virgil and Shy Wilson for following God’s will in this great ministry. Prayers goes out to my wife: Pastor Anita Smith of “Fresh New Beginning Full Gospel Church,” in Houston Texas, our families and my brothers and sister in white… A special thanks to Sis. Shy Wilson for all her hard work in preparing this “The Spoken Word Newsletter”, to reach so many readers...God loves you Sis. Shy Wilson and Bro. Virgil Wilson and we also love you both...DROP YOUR HANDS comes from one of the Daily Brea I read...Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God. If we would be still and allow God to work in our life things would be much better. It’s called trusting in God, knowing He will work it out. In this Daily Bread it touched me, it speak of the conception of putting your hands down and letting God intervene in our situations with our interference. Sometimes we try so hard to help ourselves out of situations that we end up deeper into them. If we would let God be at work in our life, He promised to work it out...DROP YOUR HANDS...God is opening doors for us, we interfere and close those same doors God is opening. Sometimes what we want for ourselves, is not what God planned or not in God’s time for us…”God is a on time God, He may not come when you want Him, but when He come He’s right on time. For example: I hired a parole lawyer because I wanted to go home, thinking this parole lawyer was my answer. For I seriously place my trust in God to se me free...but I hired this lawyer...In John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed….see sometime we need to “DROP OUR HANDS” knowing that God’s hands are busy working in our lives. I received another one year set off, because I took my trust off God and placed it in this parole lawyer, wanting to go home. Please listen to this: when we drop our hands, it makes is feel defenseless and vulnerable - unless we can trust that God is our refuge and strength a very present help in need or trouble. In the face of all the life’s circumstances, we can know the peace of trusting the presence and power of God in the midst of trouble as we wait patiently and prayerfully for His deliverance so drop your hands, for God’s hands are busy on our behalf. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. Keep our eyes on God...AMEN In Jesus Name, Pastor James Smith McConnell Unit

2013 TRY TO BE MORE UNDERSTANDING 2013 Often the reason a relationship fails is not because of opinion, but a lack of understanding, communication and commitment. Ask yourself this question: Why aren’t we more understanding in life or in a relationship? Just think about that and visualize that. Here is 3 reasons, it can be more, I like to share these 3 reasons. (1) Selfishness - Me, me, me...it’s all about ME and no one else. There’s two sides of the story, not just one. Share, give what God gave you to give, that is love another with brotherly and sisterly love, in honor giving preference to one another. (2) Fear - prejudice is often the fear of what were willing to try and understand when it comes to new ideas and options of the facts. Open your mind and grow, don’t be scared or fear change or rejections. We tend to compare what we don’t understand with what we think we do like the folks told Columbus the earth is flat. When it comes to building relationships, you’ve got to be willing to do what you’ve not yet done. Change, love, Godly love step out on faith and believe in yourself. (3) Differences - it takes more than one color to make a rainbow and one musician to make an orchestra. When you take time to appreciate the difference in people, you discover we all share the same hopes and fears. When we understand the other persons viewpoint and what their trying to do., nine times out of ten we’re trying to do the Godly thing. Two of our most common problems are gifting and gift-projection. One happens when we compare our talents with others and feel inferior. The other happens when we expect others to feel equally passionate about what we do. The word says there are different kinds of service, but we serve the same God (1 Corinthians 12:5) Do something new and change something in your life, that will make you even closer to the Lord you serve. It’s a New Year let’s be new and step-out of fear, selfishness and recognize the difference. May God Bless you and your family in this 2013 and God will bless you and open more doors for you. AMEN Samuel Harris JAMECA’S PRAYER Today I cried, for what particular reason I do not know. tears fell and my heart ached for strangers I did not know. pain ailed my soul from the cruelness of our lost world. Stragglers left behind for they faltered off of the right road. My mind races, and I try to trace what is that it sees. Many faces, different races, but all of them a part of me. Their pains, their struggles, their worries of tomorrow, and what the tomorrows might bring. For I too an like Dr. Martin Luther King, for I too have a dream. That their tears will cease, that the whole world will have peace, and we can live in unity. So I got down on my knees and asked the Lord to hear me when I speak. He answered me and said, “I never sleep, nor do I slumber. I heard your humble cry. I am the Master who can fix disasters, so why do you question me with the whys? I never lie, I tell the truth, so believe me when I say, I will judge them accordingly upon my judgment day. So stop the tears and know that you can persevere. For know man knows the exact date or time I shall appear. Therefore, walk by faith and not by sight. Do the things you know are right, so you can inherit what is rightfully yours. I know you feel things should be different, but let nature take its course.” SHOUT OUT TO SAMUEL Samuel, Hello love of my life! I just wanted to send you s shout out, so you’ll know that you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Every time I think of you I smile. You being back in my life brings me sooooo much joy. Yes, we will be as one, as soon as time allows it to happen. There’s no need to rush, because we both want this to be right, Besides, good things come to those who wait. I love you, Baby, you continue to keep your head up and know troubles don’t last always. You’ll be hearing from me soon. Love Always, have a Happy New Year Your future, Mrs. Jameca Harris

*PENITENTIARY LIFE* Penitentiary life is a subdue life style because we have prisoners here that want to control another persons life. Each day we have a new breed of rapist, murderer, homosexual, conman, burglar, and ect. Coming in. His blood ran down, because their hearts were cold, He hung on a cross, yet He did not make a sound. His body beaten, broken, and swollen, as His blood ran down...The penitentiary new breed is taken over where the old head left off, but the new breed is a lot dangerous that the one before them. The old and new breed need Jesus in their life, without Him we are a dead package and Satan have us believing in him. you see, the devil want us to believe the false vision that he presented us as real. Devil I thought you said you had the answer to it all, you never told me I was going to take a fall! Sacrificing His life, love, and dignity, to save you and me; leaving His place of honor, to come down, accepting our punishment, setting us free, His blood ran down...Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficient is of God (2 Corinthians 3:5). We should pray not to obtain our will in heaven, but to effect God’s will on earth...You see, I once was one of them old head that came to the penitentiary life at the age of 16 years old and I once walked in the path of homosexuality for many years to come, living my life as a female in a man’s penitentiary. Being used and abused because of the life style and doing the devil bidding at every turn because I was once blind to the Word of God. I plea with you new and old to give your life to Christ because the end is near, Christ is coming back for His family. A sacrifice offering had to be made, in blood, by Him who wore the crown; so that we could one day reside in eternity. Through His death, ascension, blessing abound, ad because He loves you and me, His blood ran down...And my prayer is that all be in that number, it is truly going to be a bless day to meet Jesus in the sky!! Use this penitentiary life as a training ground for Christ to win souls, because we don’t want no souls left behind...Get out there and be a true “Warrior” of Christ and win souls among our peers as well as the officers and staff with your new “Penitentiary Life” in Christ! Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works (Ecclesiastes 9:7). Praying for you all May God Bless You Joseph Junior Evans #604541 (Michael Unit) Lord Jesus Christ Ministries Ten Benefits of The Favor of God 1.

POEM BY DANNY R. DEAN GOREE UNIT I run not the race for race’s sake; I run to meet my King. Praises to Him forever more; I raise my voice and sing. He gave me a gift to honor His name; to shout it oh so loud. He bestowed on me a humble heart; a heart not boastful or proud. He’s held me up even though I stumble; and urged me to go on. He’s strengthened my faith to know for certain; that I’d awaken to see another dawn. And if He chose to call me home; so ready I will be. I’d climb the highest mountain, and walk across the sand knowing He’s close, whispering encouragement to me. The thing that man calls suffering; is simply a human set back. For the sake of our Lord, God, Almighty what strength and courage we lack. But these things He knows, Creator of all, maker of Heaven and Earth; for everything which claims a life; our Father did give birth. So as we run let’s run with faith; knowing it is His will. Giving Him thanks for all he’s done; as He died upon that hill. IF WE HAVE FAITH, WHY DO PEOPLE FAIL? I greet my brothers and sisters, praying that God will continue to bless us, as we go into this new season of our lives! As I look back in 2012, Satan bombarded me with his best shots. My Aunt was in a bad car wreck, then my wife has a mini-stroke. But give God the glory they both are doing better. That was a very exhausting point in my life. If we aren’t grounded in our faith, I can see how some people can fail! But everyone fails at some point in life, we should learn from our failures. (Isaiah 43:19) Behold I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Scripture says shall ye not know it? This tells me that God can be doing something in our lives, but if we are so focused on our circumstances, we can miss what God is doing! So let’s look at why people fail: 1.

Fear - When God said we should walk by faith and not by sight that’s what He meant. We don’t have to see it to walk in it. When fear comes, press through it by trusting God. The devil is a liar and the father of lies (2 Timothy 1:7) Job said in (Job 3:25) even as righteous as Job was, he talked about the thing that he feared. He talked about how bad it would be if he lost his possessions and the Bible says you shall have what you say. What Job spoke against he lost. (Philippians 4:6) when we pray, Satan is listening to our requests. Fear opens the door for the enemy to come in. cast our burdens on the Lord. 2. Negative Attitude - If you are a negative thinker, you must reprogram yourself with the Word of God. (Joshua 1:8) the children of Israel missed out on God’s blessings because of a negative attitude. 3. Holding on to the past - it’s time to move forward in 2013! Make new challenges this season. (Genesis 19:25-27) God sent an angel to give Lot and his family a new beginning. Lot’s wife looked back, it cost her because she turned into a pillar of salt. God had prepared a great future for them but she got stuck in the past. Isaiah says it will now spring forth, it’s going to happen now! Let God take us into this new season of blessings! 4. We give up - I’m sure everyone has felt like quitting from time to time, but as men and women of God, we’ve got to believe that God is working out everything in our life for the good. (Romans 8:28) Everybody that God used had to overcome something, but they didn’t give up. God won’t give up on us, so we shouldn’t give up on God! I want to THANK all the members that’s on the Intercessory Prayer Team, that stood in the gap for myself and my family. Sherman Harris (Michael Unit)

Prayer: “Father God in the Name of Christ Jesus I pray by Your Spirit that you would bless the people; Virgil & Shy Wilson and their ministry beyond their wildest imagination, give grace and peace to empower them to continue in Your Will, be their Provider! I’ve prayed, I believe, now bless!” Scripture: (1 Corinthians 10:12) “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” RECEIVE CORRECTION; IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE There was a brother in Christ who use to say “He who does not accept instruction will receive destruction.” this brother Allen Edwards (N.O.) use to say also that we should be of construction as well. These saying I held dear to me as I was abiding in Christ, but as the word says in Proverbs “a little sleep a little slumber a little folding of the hands to sleep and your poverty will overtake you.” that’s exactly what happened to me. I failed to stay diligent, “to watch and pray,” to be like the beareans who study the scriptures daily, and of course to receive wise counsel (godly counsel) as Psalm 1 “blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly (unbelievers). Knowing all these scriptures and verse and even being called Rev. Mike by some on Beto Unit’s 50 to Life Wing. Even being told by some that I was the reason that they believed in Christ. How did I fail so miserably? I’m now in Administrative Segregation on Michael Unit for what? Two staff assaults? What? How could that possibly be? I cry as I write these words, how could I have been so foolish knowing all the good God has done for me...Delivered me from gangs, allowed me to feel fire from God move all through my body, speak in tongues, see prophecy I have spoken be revealed true, see things before they ever occurred, delivered me from the charges I had pending against me (Murder & Agg. Robbery), allowed me to see parole on a Life Sentence in doing only 6 1/2 years, putting my brother; Lee Hall on the very same unit and wing with me in answer to prayer and the list is endless. Brothers in Christ beware that you watch carefully not to be judgmental and critical towards others as I was, I had to be “re broken” if there is such a thing. I know God is still loving toward not only the lost but backsliders as well. I’m truly the first to say that had it not been for the Grace of God I would not be alive today. I came across this ministry by “divine appointment”. I know brother/Pastor Decaso Woods, “Rev.” Darnell Johnson, Rev./Pastor Ricky Burnett, David Silas (music), Mark Feagins, Albert Prado “Beto”, Big G, Toby Williams (who has the most powerful testimony I have ever heard in my life in person) and many other brothers who make things move in the spirit in the background Bishop Timothy Warner, Carlton Lacey, and the unforgettable Marcus Pennie a true prophet of God or as some say “angel” of God. Brother Keith Marine (N.O.), Paul Keys, Martin Marroquin I have not forgotten the love that you all showed me or demonstrated to me. So how did I get to this last place knowing and seeing all these great men of God? First I tell you this as an admonition to hopefully deliver the erring bro./sister. These are words written through deep pain you may never and I pray never have to experience. First I quit reading and studying my Bible in my private time “due to the cares of this world and ultimately pride! (Pride almost sounds like a curse word to me it has caused me so much grief)” Please remove it! Love speaking! “Then I started criticizing my fellow believers in Christ (forgive me brother A.J. Alvin Jones) and all other brothers if you suspect I was critical and you read this “by God’s Design” please forgive me. I should have heeded your counsel A.J. and you other brothers I should have prayed for and loved you regardless as I now being the very hypocrite that I once spoke against as being fake, false, and many other such thing had the unfortunate opportunity to experience. I often find that whatever you criticize others of you’ll usually be humble by doing the same! It is only and I repeat only by God’s Grace do we overcome and are righteous enough to be who or whatever we are. Only because Jesus died for us and gave us His righteousness! Don’t use His righteousness to feel righteous enough to condemn another! If in fact it is His righteousness you have at all. His righteousness does not condemn, His righteousness saves! So be “Christ-like” seek to save, seek to build up the erring believer. One thing I heard often by some ministers was “I’d rather have quality than quantity” but God does not compromise He wants “Quality and Quantity” He’s The King! He wants the best! If that quantity stays around that quality it will become quality. Have you not read? We are the salt of the world? We change the flavor. So you quality fruit bearing believers don’t be afraid of the “labor” that’s required to bring these other stumbling to solidity and fruitfulness in Christ! Bear one another's burdens and so you will show the love of Christ! I can tell you from experience no matter how hard or stubborn that heart is love will bust it up faster than you could ever imagine. So don’t be afraid show love. Now lastly I want to say what got me off track was my secret sin and negative words. That hidden lust will stripe your confidence get rid of it, if you stumble get up and fight confess “I’ma overcome this next time the temptation comes! “Claim the victory in the face of apparent defeat! Pray and fight! The violent take the kingdom of God by force. Be violent for Christ! Press in to the kingdom! Don’t let your heart get hard or grow cold! If no one is loving you or you feel that way go find someone to love yourself and see don’t they return it. We love Him cause He first loved us. (1 John) you have to love, to be loved! You reap what you sow! I’m running out of room I suppose so I’ll close! But this one last thing I want to share the word says “strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered.” (Matthew 26:31) [paraphrased] As important as you think you are (blow to pride) your not what it’s all about. It’s about Jesus, The Shepherd, The Word! Satan strikes at the word, The guide, he knows if he (Satan) can get the Word he has you! That was his first strike at me. To remove me from my strength! Be diligent, repent if you have sinned. Return to the Lord of forgiveness! Accept His love! I have much more to say, my life isn’t over, its just beginning again! I am a believer and I shall rise out of this pit, will you rise with me? Come to resurrection and we shall rise together! PS: Could you please put: Mama Alice Heuman’s love for me has help me second only to Christ Himself! In encouraging me through my storm! Love ya Sweety!!! Michael Kimmel #1459952 (Michael Unit)

TESTIMONY I’ve spent the majority of my life running with gangs and doing whatever’s necessary to gain “G” status. Some would say that I made attaining this so-called status my life’s mission. It started in middle school and got progressively worse until I got to high school. Naturally, high school for me didn’t last that long. As a matter of fact, the nineties were a really wild time. In early 2003, before my son was born, I met a man with a small church in my city. I’ll never forget his first words to me. “You’re a drug addict gang member,” is what he said. Those words angered me because I thought he was judging me. Turns out he was just telling me the truth, a truth I wasn’t ready to hear. Nevertheless, time rolled on and I continued to do what I was doing. Flash forward now to 2012. I’ve been in prison for seven years now, and I’m still doing all the same things as before. The only difference is that now I’m ready to acknowledge the truths that were set before me so long ago. I am a drug addicted gang banger. I’ve been this way for a long time. So what can I do about this? Absolutely nothing! I can’t do anything to change what I’ve become, but GOD can. He can accomplish anything and everything that we can’t. For years I ran around telling people that I was “the truth”. Boy what a fool I was! It took me a while to realize it, but our almighty God is the only truth in this world. It is only in Him that we can place all of our trust and certainty. This is the reason why I believe that He will change my life and my situation. The change won’t be immediate, but it is coming. So for now I’m just taking baby steps in my journey with our Lord. I know some people will doubt my faith because I haven’t made any drastic changes in my lifestyle, but its by faith that I’m able to go on at all. I push forward everyday because of my faith and trust in God. My faith tells me that He will drastically alter my lifestyle one day, but only when He sees fit to do so. You see, God has given me the grace to understand that things can only happen according to His will. God’s timing is perfect; ours is far from it. So for everyone out there who’s in my shoes, listen and heed God’s call when it comes. And believe me, He will call on each and every one of us. Our God would love to have a personal relationship with every one of His children, even if that child is a drug addict gang banger. We may not appear perfect to each other, but in God’s eyes we are just that. One last thing before I go, I was motivated to write this by a great friend of mine. I just want to thank you “D” for everything. You know who you are. Praise Jesus. - Mr. Anonymous Article Written by Pastor Decaso Woods NEW START Happy New Years!  2013 What is your New Year’s Resolution? I hope you didn’t start off your Happy New Years by letting that old ball and chain stay attached to yourself? You should be proud of God enabling you to see your way through another year. J The ball and chain is your pains, trials and frustrations, and circumstances that you haven’t let go. Circumstances wants to slow you down from being happy, circumstances can clutter our joy and suffocate your happiness. J Some people have lost a love one either by agreeing to end their relationship together or their loved one has gone home to be with God and Jesus in Heaven. What matters the most is showing people who are in your life, and people who are not in your life the love of God that flows from you. “What matters the most is doing what’s right even if it hurts”! J And my desire is to show God, Jesus, Family, Friends, etc...the love of God that lives in me. I’ll never forget when I was a little boy my mother gave me a nickname, she use to call me “free hearted” because I love helping people the best way I could. My mother replied to me by saying son you are so free hearted you can’t save the entire world, stop letting people use you; you are gonna get your feelings hurt. For years I cried to myself without my mother knowing. I cried because she was telling the truth. A lot of people did use me and hurt me even my OWN family. I knew my mother was not trying to hurt me, she loves me and doesn’t want people to treat me wrong. Finally when I turned 34 years old I made a phone call home from Beto 1 Unit prison and shared with my mother what God put on my heart to peacefully share. I started by saying Mother I love you and all those years you called me “free hearted” you was right Mom. And when you said my feelings was going to get hurt you was right Mother, year after year I have been crying from getting hurt by people I’ve tried to help. Mother you was right when you said I can’t save everybody in this entire world. Mother what I’ve learned the hard way only through Jesus Christ He will help me save somebody, and Mother thank you for caring for me, from now on Mother when you think a person is using me they’re not using me they are using God, I love you very much Mother then I ended my conversation with my by asking her to bow her head and close her eyes so I can pray for her, then she cried. That was the first time I ever prayed over my mother. John 14:21 says He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves me, and he who loves me will be loved by my Father and I will love him and manifest (reveal) myself to him.” Yes, my brothers and sisters the more we all obey God’s commandments the more He will reveal His love to you and teach you how to love everyone. My brothers and sisters love wasn’t given to you to stay, love isn’t true love until you learn through Jesus how to give it away to those you know and those you don’t know. AMEN!  Please read: 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, 1 Peter 4:8 and Romans 13:10

GOD WILL PUT YOU ON A BUS Hello men and women of God! We have usher into a new year and I’m personally excited about what God has for me and us all as a body of Christ. I encourage all of you to get on the bus; meaning allow yourself the chance to see God preparing a vehicle to transfer you to a new place, to do His holy work. Our context scriptures will come from Genesis 12:1-20, Jonah 1:1-17, Acts 9:1-43. Abram heard a voice that was soon identified as the Lord God. He told Abram get thee out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your Father’s house, to a land that I will show you. Abram got on board with God. He didn’t complain about where God was ordering him to go. Abram used the vehicle to which God gave him. So often we today will complain about where God is trying to take us! we got a problem with what things we must go through to get us to a place of prosperity. Prosperity almost always is not financial. While finances is a must to live in today’s world. God’s prosperity comes in volumes of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. You prosper in experience, which we are to use as a tool of testimony to God’s goodness. Abram got on board with God and was led away from his home, to a place where famine and struggle was. “vs. 10-20”. What Abram could not see at the beginning of this journey was the benefits at journey’s end. Jonah was ordered by God to get on board and go to Nineveh that Great City and cry against it. Jonah had a problem with God's plan. So he got in a boat going the wrong way! He had his mind made up to disobey God’s plan for his life. Jonah became suicidal. In verse 12 Jonah said to the men in the boat with him: Take me up and cast me in to the sea. How many times have you gotten out of God’s will and done some things that ended you up in a spiritual dead place? Or even had you using drugs trying your best to kill yourself. Stealing, robbing, lusting, lying, and simply living outside of your covering from God. You’ve gotten on a bus going the wrong way. Jonah got on a bus of another sort the day of his suicidal experience! God send him a fish whom He had prepared to swallow Jonah up. Jonah had his sights set on Tarshish. To Jonah he was going the wrong way, but he ended up in the right place! “Nineveh” preaching the word of God that men might be saved. Saul in Acts 9 was given the right of way to kill the followers of Christ! Man gave him the right to legally destroy men of God, was Saul’s vehicle. But “WOO”, on a road to Damascus Saul had the world greatest wreck! He ran head on into JESUS! He was going the wrong way and ended up in the right place. Listen, we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. We have jumped in some sinful rides going down the road leading straight to HELL. And God allowed us to get on board all them buses going the wrong way, to get us to the right place in the spirit. That salvation might take His full course in our lives. I encourage you today to stop fighting God about where He is leading you, “NO,”” you don’t understand why you have to go that direction, nor why you can’t go another way. But if you get on board, trusting and expecting, you’ll get to the right place, because the bottom line is you are not in control - HE IS!!! Rev. Leroy Ford

“GOD FORGAVE ME...AND I FORGAVE MY BROTHER’S KILLER” (My Testimony) Scripture: Ephesians 4:32 - “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” In the wee hours of the morning on May 3, 2004, I awoke from out of my deep sleep in panic mode. “Nooooo!” I hollered out...in fear. I had just dreamt that my brother was (murdered). I saw lots of blood and a silver object. As I sat up in bed breathing heavy with sweat dripping down my forehead I prayed that my dream was just that… “A DREAM!” However, deep down inside, I sensed that it wasn’t. One of the ways that God (speaks) to me, happens to be through my dreams. And there’s a certain (tug) at my spirit I get, when the dream is actually the awakening of something that’s so very real. As the day progressed, so did my anxiety. Later that night around eight o’clock, I called a close friend of the family who me and my two younger brother’s referred to as our uncle, and to my dismay, he confirmed my dream to be true, and it was at that moment, did I experience for the first time ever - “A LIVING NIGHTMARE!” My play uncle told me that my brother “Dan (a.k.a) Deion” was beat repeatedly in the back of his head with a (silver) baseball bat on April 28, 2004, but didn’t actually die until May 3, 2004 - the night I had the dream and exactly four days before my birthday. Being from the streets of Washington, DC, that type of violence isn’t at all strange to me; but when such diabolical activity makes its footprint in your own personal life, “THINGS CHANGE.” You see things (differently), because now (you’re) the one whose heart is being torn to pieces by the violence of emotional pain. That night I made a vow to myself “to kill the guy who took my brothers life,” whenever opportunity made herself available to me. I was determined to be (his) nightmare in the middle of the day-and sooner or later I knew our paths would cross. Back in the day of my youthful years, before I fell (in love) with “JESUS,” I was the last person anyone wanted to rub the wrong way. My behavior was extremely (unpredictable), and when I made my mind up to do something evil to someone - “I did just that - and had no remorse about it at all - especially if I felt I were justified. For three straight months after my beloved brothers premature death, I lived in a daze. I was here, but not here… if you know what I mean. My life had become foggy, and depression wrapped her arms around me real tight. I was consumed with hurt and anger that sometimes led me to mentally flirt with the thought of suicide. I felt I had let my brother down for not being able to protect him and I also felt that “GOD” had let me down. There were countless days and nights where I cried rivers of tears...wishing that God would have taken me instead. “Why Dan?” was the question I asked myself over and over again. He was such a good person - just “misunderstood-” like me. As time past me by, “God began dealing with (my heart).” the Lord used what happened to my brother as a way of equipping me with (compassion) - something that I lacked terribly. During those years of when I lived a thoughtless lifestyle, never id I once consider the “pain and brokenness” that my unsanitized behavior caused others. But when the arrow was suddenly pointed in my direction, then, did it become very clear to me. At that moment of “realization-” I was inundated with the brutality of “shame and guilt!” It broke me down like an old junk yard car; however, I give all Praise...Glory...and Honor to GOD, because it was that brokenness that led me to the feet of Jesus, where a dynamic transformation took place inside of me. Rather than me wanting to stop the breathing of the guy who killed my brother, I suddenly felt compassion towards him. “….my heart is changed within me; all my compassioned is aroused.” (Hosea 11:8) I even said to myself, if ever we were to come face to face, I’d look him in the eyes and say - “I forgive you!” “If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.” (1 John 4:20) Little did I know that the sincerity of my heart would be tested so soon. Two years after my brothers death, his killer was (by mistake in part of the B.O.P., but divinely orchestrated by God) transferred to the facility where I was housed at the time. When I first saw him, I heard the voice of God say to me - “Now what are you going to do?” my heart was palpitating at an alarming rate, because for a moment there—I didn’t know what I were going to do. And that’s when my (spiritual adrenaline) kicked in, and I’m proud to announce that “God was glorified!!!” Upon my revealing to the guy who I was initially of course, he feared that I was going to avenge my brothers death, but when I told him that I was a Christian, and wanted to deal with the issue that stood between us, from a (spiritual) standpoint, he began to relax and we walked the yard and talked. After everything that needed to be spoken was said, I looked the guy in his eyes and uttered - “I forgive you-” and then embraced him with a genuine brotherly hug. That day was the greatest challenge I ever experienced in my life, but was also the best decision I ever made (when it comes to responding to a storm in my life “rationally,” instead of “emotionally”)! Yes, I still bleed emotionally (crying my eyes out, because of how much I miss my little brother), but God’s presence in my life enables me to experience “Peace that surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7). My mission in life is to “bring God glory” in all that I do, and it’s through my (testimony)...this only being a small fraction of it… I hope to enamor others to live (above) their valley low experiences, and soar like the (spiritual eagles) that God predestined us to be. And after all my work is done, on that judgment day when I stand before my Father in Heaven, my soul longs to hear him say “WELL DONE...MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT!” I pray that my souls expression has been a blessing to all...in Jesus name, AMEN! Devotional/Gospel Entertainment and News By: Javoni Jones #1463120 Eastham Unit 2665 Prison Road #1 Lovelady, TX 75851 (“The Gospel Truth/Rea l Talk”) First let me say Praise God to you all in Christ Jesus. Especially my “sistaz” in Christ on the female units. I send my love and God’s blessings. Shout out to Virgil and Shy Wilson founders of The Day of the Lord Ministries. I’ll keep them in my prayers. Mad love go out to my Pastor/Uncle Pastor John Peavey on the Eastham Unit, and all the true believers. Fake Christians get no love from me, I’m just being honest and real. I want to say this; (on Sunday, December 23, 2012) we had an awesome word from visitor Minister Jeffrey Gill and friends who’s family of Pastor J. Peavey, he kept it real and gave us a real talk preaching of the gospel, and did not sugar coat it, raw and uncut, and we all needed to hear that message and get more realer with God. A lot is more fake than real especially on the Eastham Unit, I’m around it everyday all day, we got only Sunday Christians, but what about Monday - Saturday? How can we say we love God someone we have never seen before, but we can’t love our fellow brother who we see everyday on our wing or in our dorms? Stop being fake, this is real talk and the gospel truth. I do not agree with a lot of these so call outside ministries who tell us what we want to hear, that is fake. I speak my mind and a lot of you don’t like me because of that, so be it. (What about the Christian cliques, and Christian politicians, these people know who they are, I don’t need to call out names or put you on blast). I been on Eastham since 2008, never got offered to be put in Kairos, I put in I-60’s to attend Kairos and other programs and never get a chance to attend, but I see people who some how get to go to Gertha Rogers Christmas Dinner every year, and Reconcilers, etc. but myself and others be told we been before so we can’t go a 2nd time. So that is a lie from the pit of hell. I guess because I’m not a kiss butt believer or in their clique, etc: (Sorry Charlie). It’s a shame these leaders, deacons, etc. talk a good one behind the pulpit but don’t walk the talk, those that give to those that can give back, a lot of us got no hygiene, but these so-call big baller Christians bust $85 all the time and won’t buy hygiene for those in need, you’re fake. I put these people to test and they all fail. I asked all my so-called believers for help, they all gave me excuses on why they can’t help me. I went to a non-believer, a gang member and homosexual who all help and assist me on what I needed done with no string attached. So what is wrong with that picture. I had to bring this new year in right, shake of he fakers, people who lie to me and mean me no good, come to find out they were never in my best interest, a lot are selfish, I call it how they show me and how I see it, no more will I let people tell me anything, lie to me, manipulate me, etc. This is a new year, out with the old, in with the new.  2012 is the past, I attend to leave it behind, what people tried to stop me from achieving, God use that to show me the true them, it made me stronger, and connected me with other resources to get the job done. I may have lost a lot, but I did not lose my trust and faith in God, my drive, I kept pushing on. I was on a wing-ling with a cellie, now I’m on a dorm with access to more positive people who have been very helpful.  sometimes the people we think is for us may be against us, sometimes God put people in your path for a season so you got to get in and get out and not to get attached, watch and be careful who you share your past, secrets, visions, and plans with, a wolf can come in sheep clothing, and bite you later on down the line, I’ve experienced that twice on Eastham Unit, it won’t be a 3rd. These was learning experience for me. It’s crazy, and this is no a “jook” at one person but those pro-claiming to be Christians had harmed and hurt me, it was not the non-believers. I do thank God for these (exp)! And I love God for showing me all this. Everything I do I put God first and in it, and guess what, I can now share more of the good news with you of what God has done and got planned for me in 2013. As of now! I’ve been bless to have been introduced to a lovely female music TV host who has her own music publishing company, who host a music poetry night. Who has a music TV show where local, upcoming, and major music artist can be interviewed, and do a performance, etc. on television, etc. she has a music songwriting and music producing team, her biggest thing was music distribution, that is where I come in at, by me being CEO of “Celeb Statuz Ent”, with connections with major and international music distribution, we have reamed up, as she is also president od Celeb Statuz Ent and she is in talks and negotiations with a lot of my major industry heavy hitters at Warner Music Group, Sony Records Japan, etc. over seeing my label and my son and daughter music project and business. She is also a songwriter in which she is writing a few songs on my daughter’s CD and let me say this, God is a great God, when He gets involved, He go big! I just picked up a female rap artist out of Columbia, SC and to top it off I’ve ink a separate joint-venture deal with “Pipper Records”/cone music distribution out of Inglewood, New Jersey, in which one of my artist is set to be released with a single deal this year “2013”. So things are starting to look up, and these connections came about through non-believers who assist me and to contact who I asked by email connection. God can use a non-believer, but I still planted the seed, and out of these 3 I said that helped me, two of them are now going to church, so don’t tell me what God can’t do. Did I mention this year 2013, through Celeb Statuz Ent/ Pipper Records/Def Jam Digital Distribution, will be the release of “Javoni” presents Jacuz’e collabo CD,” songs that were never released will be released online worldwide, so God is good. “Pipper Records” also have a Indie Film Production Department with an online-international film distributor overseas, so my son and daughter will be pursuing their acting debut on the big screen and internet/Blockbuster Films. I know all this seems to good to be true, but it is.  it took me years to put this together, but God, that is all I can say. Below is a picture of my son; Rap Artist “Jackpot Jones,” and my daughter RNB/Pop Princess “Javieara Jones” who’s sign to my label and Pipper Records, distribution deal with Warner Music Group, set to be released soon. Shout out to my artist “Lyre Wyre,” and female rap artist “Knowledge”. Coming Soon. It’s been a struggle putting this together but it’s finally about to be birth. “2013” is in, 2012 is out! Bless Up! PS: Keep posted for updates, photos, and the gospel ent/ news in “2013” I’m bringing it straight uncut, raw and to ya face. (Javoni “Tha Realist” Jones) “when one door shuts in your face God open up others, and when he open doors no man can shut.”

Birthday Shout Out to Desmond Johnson my Godson, Desmond I want you to know I love you and I am so proud of you and who you are as a young man and person, I will always cherish all the memories we shared when you were small, and I am looking forward to the ones we will share in the future. I love you… Columbus Johnson Uncle “C.C.”

Mrs. Verlean Michelle Robinson, First I truly without a doubt love you with all my heart and soul forever. Sometimes as humans we try so hard to concentrate on how to act accordingly to God’s will but sometimes still lack the real reason why God brought us together in the first place. Constantly trying to make our own decisions to make our own lives beautiful and bright. Really trying to see the fortress through the trees. Feelings, emotions and unconditional love and truth is all about respecting what God brought together. How can anyone constantly cry out victory when it’s so hard to sweat for what we want? As individuals people do contradict that all the times. Constantly fighting and fighting, praying and praying feeling like we’ve given our all; we as individuals still tend to fall by the devil’s bedside with frustration, confusion, and disbelief. Unconditional love never restrain from the truth. Togetherness and our own participation to fight til we just can’t fight anymore is what guides us to victory. I really don’t think God ever make mistakes at all. Our advantage over the devil tricks and mind games to seek and destroy is our True Love for each other because that’s all we got. Whatever we have to face we as Robinson’s face them together FOREVER… HAPPY 5TH ANNIVERSARY I Love You Forever , Forever yours, Michael My shout out is for the Former Gang Members and to any active member that read this article; that Jesus live forever and loves all who come to Him. He’s real and powerful and is a true friend t all times Proverbs 17:17, 18:24, stop living in a LIE to the enemy, He only comes to kill, steal and destroy but God comes to give you real life that will last for all time! A true soldier of Christ Jesus Rey P. Hey Lemar! Just wanted to say you are in my prayers. I heard you already talked, so lets pray at lights out, and touch and agree on you going home. Albert Prado (Beto) Brother, I miss you so much. I was so happy when I seen your article in the newsletter. Life as of now has been awesome in the Lord. I remember you telling me once that after you left N-wing I would have to lead and care for everyone. I also remember me telling you NO, not me! Well, God showed that you were right and I’m telling you it’s amazing the people He has put in my life to minister too. We have church every Sunday and there’s bible studies 6 days a week morning until evening. I pastor the Sunday church and Lord “Beto”, you will not believe all the affiliated men that attend. I’m still on the minister team on this unit and do God’s will as should be. Thank you for being such a great inspiration to me brother. God placed you in my path to see true love for people. Keep the ministry first. There are so many people who need God. Much love brother you’re always in my prayers. - Revy Rev

Big G, I know you wasn’t expecting to see this, but I have to say this. Thank you for allowing God to use you in a way others will never know or even understand. Religiousness is a disease which effects and destroys. You’ve showed me how at times I thought I was doing God’s work when in fact I was being religious. Religiousness can’t and won’t preach to the gang members, gamblers, hustlers, homosexuals, etc. But Lover’s of Christ will. And don’t worry, I’m reading that book! J God bless you brother and I love you, keep doing what you’re doing! -Revy Rev “SHOUT OUT TO BROTHER NICK CURRIE” (USP, COLEMAN-2 J-1 UNIT) My brother in Christ, I shake hands with this moment in time just to say - I’M PROUD OF YOU!” Why? because of your determination not to quit. I have witnessed with my very own eyes, some of your valley low moments that often left your soul dazed, yet through it all - “you continued running the race - empowered by your (faith).” That my friend, is impressive to me, because not everyone can weather the storms of life. And though they can be (hostile storms) at times, I encourage you to continue “WALKING BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT” (2 Corinthians 5:7), because (every storm) you encounter, is “WORKING TOGETHER FOR YOUR GOOD” (Romans 8:28). They are none more than “stepping stones”...to elevate you to a higher level in the heart of “Jesus”. He is molding you with the quality of character that’s needed for you to be effective in what you are called to do. So the next time you find yourself in a storm, smile and then speak into the atmosphere…”I WILL NOT BE MOVED - FOR THIS, TOO, SHALL PASS!” Peace. Your Brother in Christ, Minister Oesby

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU MICHELLE ROBINSON FROM ALL THE WIVES OF WWIH WE LOVE YOU!!!

“A BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT TO MY LOVELY QUEEN” (MRS. CHARLENE OESBY) (JANUARY 24TH) “Happy Birthday, Wifey! Happy Birthday to you.” As I walk across the stage of this celebrated moment to sing to you a melody from the studio of my heart, I am thinking to myself - “Oh my goodness! My baby is (all of that).” like they say, “age ain’t nothing but a number…” because you, my love, definitely don’t look one day of “forty-eight.” It seems the younger you get with each passing year, the (more) attracted I am to you. just the thought of you, makes my soul thirsty. You are what I call - “Seasoned Beauty -” synonymous to a classic movie that you just can’t watch once, but rather over and over and over again, because it’s just that darn good. If only I could be there with you at this very moment, I’d (surprise) you with a fun filled adventurous day of laughter and love; but since I’m not there, until that wonderful day does come…(and it will)...I’ll just keep on surprising you in spontaneous creative ways such as this - because after all, “that’s they way love goes”! Be Blessed Your Devoted Husband Minister Oesby “SHOUT OUT TO BROTHER MITCH BECKHAM” (USP, COLEMAN-2 J-1 UNIT) What a blessing it is to have you as a brother in CHRIST. Since we’ve know each other, I’ve had the honor of watching you shine like a bright light in total darkness. You have the kind of personality that makes even a non-believer...enjoy being around you, simply because of (the love of God) that oozes out of you. you have always been “CONSISTENT” in who you are, and for me that’s important– because not everyone’s character matches up with who they say they are. God gave us the ability to choose and it’s so refreshing to witness another man of God - “choose to live happy-” even though you have every reason to be sad. You enamor me a lot! Keep letting your light shine (Matthew 5:14), because it’s very much needed in this dark and cold world. On, and by the way, “THANK YOU” for lending me your ear during those times when I needed desperately...someone to talk to. May the Lord’s will always be done in both of our lives. Your Co-laborer In Christ, Minister Oesby
