Greetings,

One thing about trials and test is, (at least for me) that Sometimes life isn’t all that you learn more about yourit seems. Many people who self! Our Mission

Our Members

Our Vision

The mission of “The Day of the Lord Ministries” is to embrace offenders, ex-offenders, and their family members with love through the various groups under our umbrella; to assist them in becoming equipped with the things they’ll need to be productive citizens, and loving family members.

Membership in The Day of The Lord Ministries includes all persons participating in any of the stated Ministries who choose to embrace our stated vision and values

To be an instrument through which the power of the Holy Spirit can minister to offenders, exoffenders, and their family members. Causing them to be self confident as they learn their purpose; to develop a new attitude toward their circumstance and rise above it.

“……yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also”. Jeremiah 3:8 “LEARNING FROM OTHERS MISTAKES” This passage of scripture shows us how Judah had witnessed Israel playing the harlot on God, and ran rampant in sin. But instead of Judah taking what God had done to Israel and learning from it, they did the exact same thing. There’s an old cliché that says: “Experience is the best teacher”! From 52 years of life and the things I’ve been through, I disagree! Experiencing alcohol and drugs didn’t make me a better person; it took me from bad to worse! But I should have learned from all the other alcoholics and drug addicts that I’d known that messed their lives up from indulging in that lifestyle. 1 Corinthians 10:6 says: “Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted”. Verse 11 says they were written for our admonition. In other words, the mistakes and sins committed by those before us, we have been “advised” not to do the same. I don’t have to commit adultery or fornicate, catch AIDS, suffer that horrible death to learn that’s not right or good. I’ve seen people with full blown AIDS, and learned from their mistake not to live that way. The mistakes I’ve made, I pray someone will learn from it. As a matter of fact someone did, my son whom I haven’t seen in 16 years. In one of two letters I’ve ever gotten from him he said: “You taught me something and didn’t know it. I learned from you that I never want to mess with drugs”. For a moment those words cut me like a knife, but when I thought about it, I praised God! My son will never have to experience what I’ve been through if he hold true to those words. Our best teacher and experience is Jesus who said: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me….” Matthew 11:29.

ACTIVE FRONTLINE MESSAGE FOR FEBRUARY I’d like for you to consider something… People ________all people, have what’s called “4 selfs”. What are these “4 selfs”? Let’s take a look: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Open self—this is what everyone can see about you, your personality and how you behave. Hidden self—this is the stuff you don’t want anyone to know about you. Unknown self—this is the stuff you still haven’t discovered about yourself. Blind self—while the other 3 are important, this is the one I’d like you to focus on. This is the stuff that people see about you ———that you don’t see about yourself.

As we get older, we learn. Are you open to what’s called “constructive criticism”? Are you willing to improve yourself if someone sees negative traits in your character? I like the way Proverbs 13:20 puts it: “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the friend of fools will suffer harm.” Are you walking with the wise? Think about it.

SCRIPTURE OF THE MONTH BY REY P.: And we know that in all things God

works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 STEP-BY-STEP Step by step I head for the door; with goal and purpose in mind, Not worried at all about what’s passed me by; not fearful of what I’ll find. For my God leads me on; and gives me courage as I choose my way, for he’s promised to protect his child and be there for me every - - day. He’s told me, “Just do your part”; and not worry about all the rest, because He’s placed His mighty hand upon me and He’s mindful I’ll do my best. Sure there are times He’ll let me fail; to make me stop and think, but never too much will He allow to burden me; never will He allow me to sink. As Peter took a step and lost his faith; and fear came into play, “Lord please save me?”, the words he cried; a phrase we all should say, but I can rest assured my God is true, every promise He’s made is real, and as I take each bold new step His presence I can feel. THE BEST IS YET TO COME (PART 2)

Mark Anthony Feagins (Beto Unit)

Hello my brothers and sisters. Happy New Years. 2013 God is about to bless us all; of course he does that everyday any way. But we are not the only one’s who want the best for ourselves, that’s right my friends, God our Father knows and wants what's best for us. See, God blessed me with a new friend in November of last year, and I have been praying for her. See I understand good friends are hard to find and a godly friend is even harder to find. I say if we put God first He will (“God”) make sure we have the best. And if you really want what’s best in your life, then put Hebrews 11:1 to work and start thanking God like you already have it. See family I seen parole again in November for my 11th time, NO, I have not got my answer back yet. I thank God for opening these doors and setting me free. Do I sound crazy? Well let me say two things here: One is to the child of God it’s not crazy, Two, I’m so tired of man telling me what is best for me! I’m tired of living in the past. See the word of God says (“He; God”) knows the plans for our lives. Listen family, God will make a way some how, He did before and will do it again! I promise God can not lie. He said if we would just call on His name. Family read Isaiah 49:15 and 16, Psalm 103:3-5. See I know God has not forgotten us, and He is a forgiving God. YES, the best is here 2013 family, lets get out the way and watch God work and let’s put foolishness away, see I believe in prayer so let’s not talk about it, lets pray about it. I wish I knew how many would stand with me and say 2013 is a year of prayer; let’s pray at 7:30PM every night. Special thanks to Megan, Shy & Virgil Wilson, Esmeralda & Michael Schwartz, Amber & Darnell Johnson, Kurtis & Liz Compton. I love you all, please keep praying for me as I continue to pray for you! This month being Black History Month I was led to give special honor to a great Black man of God and Minister of Music: Thomas A. Dorsey born in 1899 in Villa Rica, GA: died of Alzheimer’s disease, January 23, 1993 in Chicago, IL: son of a Minister and church organist/pianist. Thomas A. Dorsey, often called the Father of Gospel Music, migrated from Atlanta to Chicago as a young man, thus exemplifying the experience of many Southern Blacks of his day. This journey is also critical to an understanding of what Michael W. Harris called “the rise of gospel blues” in his book of that title, which chronicles the role Dorsey’s music played in the urban churches. Thomas A. Dorsey played for parties and bordellos in Atlanta: became music director of New Hope Baptist Church in Chicago: performed with the Whispering Syncopators, early 1920’s. In 1928 he is well known for writing and composing the music for “Precious Lord”. 1931; became music director of Pilgrim Baptist Church. 1976; with gospel singer Willie Mae Ford Smith, featured in documentary Day Amen Somebody, 1984, Music Publisher. He lives on each Sunday as voices rise in praise, singing the gospel across the land. By: David Wayne Brooks Michael Unit Minister of Music

“STANDING FIRM ON HIS PROMISE” Genesis 12:1-3, Joshua 23:14, 1 King 8: 56-61, Hebrews 6:13 First we must give God the Honor, Glory and Praise for God is worthy to be Praised. I would like to give thanks to my beloved Bro. & Sis. Virgil and Shy Wilson for following God’s will in this great ministry. Prayers goes out to my wife; Pastor Anita Clark Smith, our families and my brothers and sisters in white. “Again”, a special thanks to Sis. Shy Wilson for all her hard work in preparing this “The Spoken Word Newsletter” to reach so many readers...God love you both (Bro. & Sis. Virgil & Shy Wilson) in Jesus Name we all are praying for you. Message: “Standing Firm on His Promise”… Here you will see that not one promise that God has made He has not stood firm on...turn to Gen. 12:1-3 “The Lord has said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. (v.2) I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you. I will make your name great and you will be a blessing. (v.3) I will bless those who bless you and whoever curse you I will curse and all people on earth will be blessed through you...Listen what God is telling us now, Abraham was a very faithful man and God knew he was faithful to do just what he asked. This was God’s promise to Abraham (the condition) leave your country, your people, your father and go to the land I will show you. “Can you imagine God telling you to leave all your family, leave this country and go somewhere you know nothing about? Well this is what God told Abraham and he done just what God told him. (here is the promise) God said to Abraham I will make you into a great nation, and God did. I will bless you and God did. I will make your name great and God did. See everything God promised Abraham God did… Standing Firm on His Promise. In Heb. 6: 13-15 “When God made His promise to Abraham since there was no one greater for Him to swear by, He swore by Himself, (v.14) saying “I will surely bless you and give you man descendants. (v.15) And so after waiting patiently Abraham received what was promised by God. Here is confirmation in the New testament that God stood firm on His promise. Turn to Joshua 23: 14-16 “Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled not one has failed. (v.15) But just as every good promise of the Lord your God has come true, so the Lord will bring on you all the evil He has threatened, until He has destroyed you from this good land he has given you. (v.16) If you violate the covenant of the Lord your God which he commanded you and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the Lord’s anger will burn against you and you will quickly perish from the good land He has given you. here Joshua was speaking to the people before he died, telling them that not one of all God’s promises has failed...every promise God made with them has been fulfilled and today God is still fulfilling His promises in our lives. AMEN!!! (Here is the condition) (v.15) every good promise of God He will bring on us all evil and destroy us if we continue to violate His commands and go on doing things against His will, by serving Satan living in sin. AMEN! So know in your heart that God is “Standing Firm on His Promise”. Turn to 1 Kings 8:56-61 “Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel just as He promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises, He gave through His servant Moses. May the Lord our God be with our fathers; may He never leave is nor forsake us. may He turn our hearts to Him, to walk in all His ways and keep the commands, decrees, and regulations He gave our fathers. (v.61) (the condition) “But your hearts must be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by His decrees and obey His commands. AMEN! We see that not one word has failed of all the good promises God gave His people, they prayed that God will never leave them nor forsake them and God Stood Firm in His Promise!!! We always want God to stand firm on His promise, but we don’t want to listen to God speak to us, obey God, praise God, serve God or even walk in the way that’s pleasing to God. We want God’s promise, but we don’t want to hear God’s conditions...In closing of this message: we will see in Heb. 6:18 it is impossible for God to lie. So if God said it then God is Standing Firm on His Promise to us. The same promise God made to Abraham, Moses and Joshua He is keeping and standing firm on those promises with us today. But we must live a life that is pleasing to God, we must love one another, we must always put God first in everything we do. Father God in Jesus name I pray that your word has touched someone’s heart that they will know that you will never leave them nor forsake them that you Father God will always “Stand Firm on Your Promise” to us. In Jesus Name We Pray, AMEN!!!

When prayers goes up, blessings come down! We pray for Bro. & Sis. Virgil and Shy Wilson for this great ministry; The Day of the Lord Ministries and “The Spoken Word newsletter”. May God Bless ALL of US! Pastor James Smith (McConnell Unit)

“THE FLESH IS WEEK” BY: JOSEPH EVANS With an addition by: TIMOTHY HARDIN #904644 I once lived in sin, doing the things that defy the word of God. Indulging in homosexuality, fornication, lying, and stealing. The flesh is weak, this I know. it will take you places you do not want to go, it will cost you more than you can pay, and it will keep you longer than you want to stay. Homosexuality is polluting this generation with their conduct. With same sex marriages, and are altering their bodies to gratify their own sexual morality. The flesh is weak, and will deceive you, convincing you that this is cool to do; Satan will have you laying with your own kind, killing you softly with his lying. Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and make’s flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord (Jeremiah 17:5). The day after the night before will change your tomorrow forever with the decision you make now… this is sending the wrong kind of message to our young children; saying it is okay for the children to alter their bodies, and/or marry the same sex. Men living as women, and vice versa too, defiling God’s temple’s in your bodily abuse. Lost to lust, and the feeling’s you have found. I say it to get you to see! The flesh is weak… Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, are set forth for example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire (Jude 1:7). Where you are, I’ve been too! Allowing my body to be used, doing thing’s we’re not proud of, but this lifestyle is not enough. Temptation will lead to lust, then sin, but happiness is not found with the same sex, only death comes next. I once lived in a state of denial, allowing Satan to put me on trial, because Jesus was surely going to judge me, and I’d be damned to Hades. I urge you all to come out of your sin, in it, there’s no peace within. Take it from me...THE FLESH IS WEAK. We have a home in Heaven above, from sin and sorrow free; a mansion which eternal love is designed and formed for us. For ALL true Christian’s; Heaven is spelled H-O-M-E!!!

BEING ABOUT GOD’S BUSINESS To repeat offenders and even those whom this is your first time, let this incarceration be used as a wake up call. Stop wasting time! Let’s get about our Father’s business. Lets gather the harvest. I see so many people who state they are Christians but are scared to speak boldly about our savior. Our own are being misled and converting to other religions because we as Christians are sitting in silence. Don’t be afraid to say, “No! Allah doesn’t save, but it is Jesus who saves.” Tell all men about Him, Tell them of His grace and His mercy. Be the light in your prisons and tell all men that they can share in the love of Christ. There are so many lost souls amongst us that are crying out for help. We need to be that living vessel to lead them back to Christ and those who don’t know Him at all, as well. James 5: 19-20 states, “my brother, If one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back. Remember this; whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” Reflect on these passages. The truth is Gid is the truth, the way, and the life. Take a stand against the devil and start setting the captives free. You have that authority. So let’s be about our Father’s business. Sis. A COUPLE FROM THE COFFIELD UNIT SHARES THIS... Yes, as always our visit was another wonderful experience, but for me it’s more than simply spending time with a beautiful woman, hearing her voice or being so completely caught up in her presence. I walked away from our visit with a deeper realization of what happens. I’m not sure whether it was an epiphany (feeling), or a theophany (presence of God) experience. How strange it is to most that God has always used Holy places, alters, or areas to reach and speak to His children. More often than not we all take for granted the Spiritual divinity of a place. I make a pilgrimage each time I go to visitation, I bathe, I groom, I prepare myself, not for the journey, but for the destination. The prison visitation area becomes a Holy place, for both of us. You travel from your world with all its problems, obstacles, people and oddities to this far away location tucked in the midst of razor wire and stone walls. You literally breach a fortress to reach a wooden table where there are physical offerings of love and proof of your journey waiting for me. In this sense that wooden table become like an altar built from the heart. I, no less make my trek from within the very depth and bowels of this place. I travel through iron gates where guards literally stop and test my spirit from every step, to every distraction along the way. On Saturday, I am fortunate to be called for my journey in the midst of praise and worship if I’m in the chapel. I realized I’m not being called away from Gods presence, but deeper into it where our two spirits meet at the altar. I come from my own world in here with all its problems, obstacles, and oblique situations to another land. That visitation room has a gate that divides this world from the one I enter, and another gate closes behind you for the same purpose. In fact the visitation room becomes a perfect world for us in that moment we kiss. Our kiss become the shaded offering to the heavens, and like smoke and incense, love rises for a pleasing smell to our God. We speak and communicate on a far deeper level, from the deepest place in our hearts for a few hours We literally walk in the garden of God’s presence, we hear the music of His touch in our soul, and a part of our dance is denied. We are like minded with those around us, even though the world around us disappears when I’m near you. Words spoke, become like the gentlest caresses, healing is either found or takes place at our altar or in the perfect place between the two worlds. There is no ”them” or ”those” because in God’s presence it all becomes “us”, and the us is with God. The connection remains even when we part our ways and return to our separate worlds once again. As the gate closes behind me and I reenter this world of stone walls, lost hope, and convict dreams. There are lingering moments when your smell, your touch, your voice and your beauty follows me those first few steps and then I take a deep breath, I close my eyes and I whisper a quiet thanks to the Lord for the perfect world He has made for me, for us. It all flows back into another world, that one in my heart, where the altar was first found in that moment I knew I loved you. I’ve also noticed the obstacles or bumps in the road we face where our relationship revolve around others, or just the plain differences that exist between these two fare less than perfect worlds. I reach out to you from phone calls or with letters and the communication becomes more invaded by the focus on the problems than the presence we find in one perfect world. I get desperate within myself to be as heard or as felt by those other modes, but it seldom goes as I plan or hope. Frustration, anger, hurt, and as we discussed my own rage become part of a world of distance that stands between us, even though it was never meant to be that way. Our problems are never really about others situations or anything else, but I think it’s my deepest desire to simply be and remain the in that perfect world at our altar. The altar was first found in my heart and surely I can return there as often as I need or like, because God is faithful and just. It’s usually after I’ve hung up the phone from a biker tantrum, or put a letter in the box that doesn’t completely reflect my total love and adoration that I realize I’m the one responsible for either leading myself away or keeping me at a far distance from the altar in my heart or that perfect world God has given us. Failure only happens where trying ends. When I married you, I made a deeper vow to myself to recognize and respect that each step meant taking two, one for me and one for you. It meant I must trust that at times, I must follow your step, not that I’m giving up the leadership role God gives to husbands, but to protect and guard you where you are in your walk, even from where I am in mine. I need for you to hear all of this in my voice. I don’t know why, but for some reason it’s important to me today.

“GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD” Our precious God, is a very jealous God indeed. He wants us to trust in Him, for even our smallest need. God supplies us sufficiently, lets not forget about His grace. Therefore, putting anything before God, is like a slap to His face. Disobedience brings wrath and surely it lies ahead, “You shall have no other god before me”, I’m just quoting what He said. It’s located right there in Exodus, chapter twenty, verse 3. so let go of the gods or strongholds in your life, or you too shall see. Just how jealous God is, when it comes to those He love, release all things bound to you, if you didn’t receive it from above. God has chastised me, now take heed is all I’m telling you, put God first in your life, and in all that you do!!! Vernon Brackens #920507 (Coffield Unit)

“INSTRUCTIONS” “Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.”- “Stop listening to instruction my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.” - NIV Pro. 19:27 & Pro. 23:12. Greetings Brothers & Sisters, May each of you be blessed in the name of the Lord Jesus. “INSTRUCTIONS”! Seems like this word is one of those that always is at the back of the line of our thought process. It’s a word that throughout our lives, we’ve rebelled against continuously. In more ways that one. Sometimes we get bent out of shape because someone has instructed us to do something. It is a word that triggers pride, emotional outbreaks such as bitterness, anger, resentment, even hatred, all due to instruction. But today, lets look at it from His perspective. According to the verses above, we see where we’re told to APPLY our heart to instruction as well as our ears to the words of knowledge, because if we stop listening to instruction we will stray from the words of knowledge. One of our favorite word play is using the word - BIBLE, we get: BASIC-INSTRUCTION-BEFORE-LEAVING-EARTH! So inside we know the word instruction! But lets take a look at some of these instructions, we could go all over the place and find them but lets keep it in Proverbs. *Proverbs 2: 1-11 My son, if you accept my words & store up my commands within you (heart); turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding… *Proverbs 3: 1-4 My son, do not forget my teaching (instruction), but keep them in your heart… *Proverbs 4: 1-2 + 13 Listen, my sons, to a Father’s instruction: pay attention and gain understanding. I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching… hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life! On & On we will see where the Lord gives us instructions to live the life He has called us to live. The thin most often that we as children of God ignore is instruction. In today’s world, instructions are everywhere to follow. From the high-tech gadgets that require for someone to follow, to give an example, “computers” if not done right?, people get stuck, to instructions on how to take the right dosage of medication, to the long ago passed down “don’t touch the fire on the stove or you will get burned” and most times we’ve known that as soon as it’s clear, there goes the touching of the fire with “I told you not to touch it”, afterwards. My Brothers & Sisters, sometimes we have to go back and look at the instructions to see where we have gone wrong. Sometimes we have to put aside out “I know everything” mentality and follow what Jesus said, “what I do, the Father has instructed me to do.” God bless each of you and may His peace be upon you. Yours In Him, Humberto “Big G” Garcia

Scripture: Woe to you, Scribes and Pharisees, Hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisees, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may be clean also. Woe to you, Scribes and Pharisees, Hypocrites! For you are like white washed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. (Matthew 23: 25-28) ‘WOW TO YOU...HYPOCRITES’ Hypocrite: A person who pretends to be something he or she is not. As I seize this divine moment to present to you a word that God impressed upon my heart, I cannot go any further, without asking Him to forgive me of (my) hypocrisies. There are times when I don’t always (live) the life in which I minister to other’s about, and because so—”GOD IS NOT GLORIFIED!” However, because I am “A MAN AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART,” no matter how great the war of (good and evil) on the inside of me might be, I will keep pursuing the Lord like my life depends on it - because actually “it does!!!” As I sat reading my bible one particular day-seeking a (word) from God—I was led by (His spirit of truth) to the aforementioned passage of scripture, and as I read what thus saith the Lord, I found myself inundated with a strong conviction. “God opened my spiritual eye, and began showing me the (sin of hypocrisy) that plagued my life.” I felt so ashamed and dirty. To those around me I was like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appeared beautiful, but inside I was full of dead mens bones and all uncleanness. I was a dead man walking (literally) and didn’t even realize it. I was too busy seeking the praises of man, that I forgot about giving praises to God. I had a lot of people fooled - “mainly myself!” and as a result, I wasn’t experiencing the (Joy of the Lord), simply because I lacked an authentic relationship with him. Whether we realize it or not, there are lots of other Christians who suffer with “hypocrisy,” and sadly, many don’t even know it. Perhaps “you” are one of them! For a long time you’ve been going through the motions of what (you believe) a Christian is suppose to look like and sound like, all the while on the inside…”your heart has become a stranger to God.” you say one thing, but do totally the opposite. You lift yourself above other’s as though you’re better than them, and rather than lend a helping hand to your neighbor, you criticize their shortcomings. You mock God through your conscious acts of (disobedience), and rather than staying on the path He’s put you on, you’ve made a (U-turn) in the middle of “sins intersection,” and are going full speed back into the fog - God once delivered you out of. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1) Being (honest with yourself) isn’t always an easy thing to do, but for the “TRUE CHRISTIAN-” it must be done. No one wants to see themselves as a hypocrite, but if a hypocrite is what you are - don’t run from the truth but rather run to it.” because as long as we ignore the truth, “we will continue living a (lie)!” the first step to recovery is “ADMITTING YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.” I did, and so can you. I never signed up to be a hypocrite or any other bad thing for that matter, but when you take your eyes off of “JESUS-” the inevitable is bound to happen. Nonetheless, there is great news-”you can be restored.” you don't’ have to stay in the hole of defeat. Cry out to Jesus...HELP...and He will reshape you. “But now, O Lord, you are our Father, we are the clay, and you our Potter; and all of us are the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8) The Lord is the (only one) who can make you over. Whatever (hypocrisy) that presently dwells within your temple, “God wants to take it out of you—if you will allow Him to!” Let (us) not get “comfortable” with the spirit of hypocrisy, because it only fuels God’s anger … and the last thing we want is for God to be angry with us. “Stop seeking the praises of man, and start seeking the mercy of God’s heart.” It is not until we (TOTALLY SURRENDER TO JESUS), will we then begin to (live)! I don’t know who this message is intended for, but if it’s (you), I pray that you “TAKE HEED-” because who knows, this may be your final (warning) from God. May your strength in the Lord increase, as you pursue after His wisdom with all your heart.” DELIVERANCE IS AVAILABLE TO YOU!!!” With that said, I now leave you as I always come - as a humbled servant of Jesus Christ. Keep me in your prayers, as I, too, will keep all of you in mine. PEACE! A Man after God’s Own Heart, Minister Oesby

“HOW I FEEL” How I feel is hard to explain; how I think and imagine things is what frighten me and make me think fear will not control me not have it his ways. Is it realism or reality that’s what cross into my heart and mind I will not be destroyed nor be defeated, I will fight a good fight each day that pass by everyday. I fight the battle that’s within me; I know I want face them alone, I don’t know what I’m up against but I know that my “GOD” has it under control. I definitely show my emotion; I have nothing to hide, I’m not ashamed nor afraid to let go of what’s inside for my “GOD” loves and cares for who I am for he’s molding me to better myself to stand firm and strong in the eye’s of “GOD” to manifest His glory into my life. I may not have any possession in this world but I know up in Heaven is where my treasure is at, for I will always give thanks and all the praise and glory to my “LORD JESUS CHRIST”. Tears are meant to fall no matter where we are “GOD” gives us these tears to express our true feelings; who we are, there’s no secret nor shame about our tears for it was given to us for a great purpose in our life for sorrow, sadness, joy or happiness, or for love, guilt or grieved. For “JESUS” wept for His brother as well as you’ve wept for you wife, brother, sister and others for the love you have for them as well as “GOD” has love for you. Don’t hold back your tears; let your emotions be shown for even “JESUS” wept many times just before they nailed Him to the cross; for what cause you may have at that moment let your tears fall with no shame let “GOD” control your true feelings and emotions and let that love one know exactly how you feel. For a tear drop means a lot especially for those who don’t express it for our tears will soon fall from our eyes when we least expect it. “GIVE HIM THANKS” Jesus is for real! Jesus is alive; give Him all the praise and glory for we glorify His name, we lift Him up on high to manifest His grace and glory; we shout hallelujah, we shout out His name; JESUS we shout; Praise the Lord, we dance like David danced. Rejoice and be happy, smile, laugh, and be gracious. Give Him thanks and all the praise for giving us another day. We lift our hands up high to the Heaven, to the sky to set our eyes upon Jesus, so we give Him thanks and praise for blessing is each day and for the love He has given us. I blame myself for the kind of life I’ve lived. I want deny it and I will admit, I put myself in here. Now I say to myself this question: Will things get better or any better as I live in this place of Hell? I’ve come to this conclusion and there’s where my answer is: I must turn my life, trust, and beliefs to this man whom they call: JESUS!!! Life is only a short breathe away but our everlasting love and life is up in Heaven. AMEN! “May God smile upon you today”. Michael Beard #1023701 Coffield Unit EVENT: I’M UP FOR PAROLE AGAIN. I WAS INTERVIEWED ON 1/23/2013.

A RESPONSE TO MR. ANONYMOUS I found your “testimony” interesting and quite familiar. For 20 years, from 1988 until 2008 when I accepted Jesus Christ into my life, I was a drug addicted gang banger from Grape Street. While many of my peers respected my “Gee status”, that status was tarnished by my crack habit. At my lowest, on the “cut”, I sold my shoes, starter cap, and shirt so I could get high. I left the cuts high, but shoeless and shirtless. In prison, I hustled to support my habits. I stayed “blowed” and even begin to snort cocaine in prison. Apart from the drugs, I was known as a “frontline homie”. I help make the “straps” and didn’t hesitate using them, or, a pair of boot strings. I speak of these things NOT to glorify them, but to allow you to understand I’ve been where you’re coming from, only through God’s grace. “GRACE” in the Greek is the “Divine influence upon the heart and it’s reflection in the life.” Keep seeking God’s face and He’ll meet you bro. If you are truly tired of your lifestyle, tell Him, and ask Him to help you. He will. He did it for me, He’ll do it for you. A man can’t find God like a thief can’t find a police. Does a thief really want to find a cop? The truth of God’s word is like water bro it will wash away all the filth of our lives. You’ll be in my prayers. Pray the words of Psalms 51:10. In His Service, Yuri K. Luckette #679441 Founder/Active Frontline Ministries Beto One TO BROTHER JAVONI JONES Brother, in every aspect of life, even in the body of Christ, there will be weirdo's, suckers, and fakers. This isn’t nothing new. (Matthew 13:24-30, 2 Corinthians 11: 13-15) stop wasting time focusing on the prison “politics” and the suckers, and instead focus on those who don’t know Christ. Concentrate on how God has blessed you and how you in turn can glorify Him through your music! Stay focused (1 Corinthians 10:12) In His Service, Yuri K. Luckette #679441 Founder/Active Frontline Ministries Beto One The Day of the Lord Ministries: A friend of mines let me read a copy of your newsletter. And, I would love to be added to the mailing list. As I read the newsletter I had a good feeling. So your letter must be blessed and ordered in the Lord. I don’t want to be left behind so I want on board! Over here on the Coffield Unit God has been here. I cried out to Jesus on Good Friday 2011 and since then I have been moving with God; the road isn’t easy. But, no matter how difficult the road may seem as long as we walk with God we will have the strength to go on! I sing in the choir and here our chapel is called The Sons of God Chapel because we believe those whom are led by the Spirit of God shall be called the sons of God. (Romans 8:14). May God continue to bless The Day of the Lord Ministries and all of you all efforts!.

“ A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR PASTOR JAMES SMITH” (MCCONNELL UNIT) My brother in Christ, I appreciate what you wrote in (January’s) newsletter. I understood exactly what you were attempting to convey to us readers; however, I want to help you look at your situation from another angle. You obtaining a (Parole Lawyer) doesn’t necessarily mean that “you stopped trusting in God!” believe it or not, “The Lord can...will...and have used lawyers of such, for His glory. “Perhaps things didn’t turn out as you hoped they would, because the (timing) was off. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) If you were sick and went to the doctors, does that mean you stopped trusting God? Of course not. You are simply utilizing the resources (God) has given you; nonetheless believing that it is “HIS WILL” being done through them (lawyer, doctor, etc.). As for the scripture you quoted out of John 8:36 - “If the son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed “ it wasn’t referring to (physical freedom), but rather (spiritual freedom) ...being free from sin. It is absolutely important that we get the right understanding of scripture, that way it can properly and effectively be applied to our life. So as I now bring this thought of mine to an end, I just want to say - “Be” Encouraged….and don’t be too hard on yourself, because you weren't in error. Keep seeking the Lord with your whole heart, and know that “HIS WILL” shall be done in your life - with or without the use of a lawyer. Just let (His perfect timing) have it’s way. Take care Pastor! Your Brother In Christ, Minister Oesby

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! To my very own Special, Loving, Sweetheart, Husband, King, and Chocolate Star!!! I love you so very, very, very much! Michael, you are everything in this world to me. I pray God is keeping you in His care at all times! I was so thankful to have been able to make it down there to see you with my own eyes and be reassured you were alright at that moment. I really, truly, do adore everything about you! Baby I don’t know what I would do if anything ever happened to take you out of my world. This is bad enough. But the devil is at war all around us; it’s attacking the ones we care about. The devil can’t stand for anyone to be happy or prosper. He is trying to destroy the spirit of this ministry! we must not let that take place. But instead keep our faith in God and our hearts full of love and compassion towards others. Especially our spouses. Always speak kind words and show them that you appreciate everything about them. Even the smallest gesture. Even though we are on the outside, we are just as much locked up too! With all the worry, stress and disappointments that all of us endure in some kind of way. There are enough tragic things happening all around us. So my brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask you to show each other more love in your words and actions, every moment and chance you get. For you never know when it will be too late! That’s the truth! Michael, I cherish the love we have for one another! Every day should be spent showing God’s love! I love you with all my heart and soul! I can’t imagine my life without you in it! This Friday Feb. 1st came real close to losing you forever! In a split moment, your heart could have taken it’s last beat! I pray and ask God to watch over us until He opens those doors and reunites our family. Believe that God has a plan set up to make us victorious against our enemies. We shall prosper and spread God’s word among many. I’m so proud to be married to you. I’m looking forward to our life that’s waiting just ahead. So come on home and let’s get our ministry for God started. I’m so proud of the man you are today! I love you Baby! Always have & always will! You are my world! From your Wife, Queen, and Snow Bunny! Mrs. Sandra Howard Our love is one of a kind! 4LIFE

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:31-32 Javoni Jones, “this message is for YOU!” As I stand on the stage of this golden opportunity to speak to the soul of your heart, I can only pray that you allow yourself to be (receptive) to the spirit of God that’s guiding me to share this word with you. “I come (NOT) to condemn or assault your character, “ but rather to edify and enlighten you to the wisdom of God - in hopes that it enamors you to stand a little bit taller next to the ruler of humility. With that said, beloved, by the time I had finished reading your thoughts on paper in the (January) newsletter, I felt spiritually nauseated. I embraced your pain like it were mine, but by the same token, I was (highly) concerned with how you went about expressing yourself. Using this newsletter as a podium to air out your dirty laundry, was not at all the Christian thing to do. you launched a (personal attack) on your brothers, and that my friend,, isn’t “keeping it real.” Keeping it (real) is walking in the wisdom of God—humbling yourself during times of adversities - and loving your (enemies)...even when it’s not emotionally popular. The statement you made about “fake Christians get no love from me-” actually contradicts the scripture you quoted four lines down - “If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” (1 John 4:20). Whether you want to see it this way or not - “fake Christians need love too!” because it’s through the love of God being expressed to them, that can and will ultimately bring about the desired spiritual change in their life. Furthermore, for the true Christian, to live is simply not an option, but rather a commandment from God! “So don’t allow what the next man is or isn’t doing, to stop (you) from doing what (you) ought to be doing!!!” But I say unto you, (Love) your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have you? do not even the publicans the same? And if you salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:44-48 (IF) the brother’s on Eastham Unit are faking, guess what? God sees it and will deal with them accordingly.” but understand this one important truth - “Jesus died for them, just as He died for you and me!” “But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) GOD knew of all our shortcomings before He went to the cross, and yet He still gave His life for us. He saw the backslider before the backslider ever backslid - and the hypocrite before he/she began living a life of hypocrisy - but O what joy to know that (love) looked beyond that. My point in case, “before we go pointing a finger at someone else, (let us take a looong look at ourselves), because though we may not be doing what the next person is doing, doesn’t mean that we aren’t in some way or another entertaining sin.” Knowing how to address issues that matter to Christians, comes as a result of spiritual maturity and discernment. As we grow closer to God in our private prayer time, studies, praise and worship, we will find that we no longer have to speak (our mind), but rather the (mind of Christ) that dwells within us. Javoni, I will be praying for your emotional healing, because I sense in my spirit that your hurt and frustrations isn’t solely from what you say you experienced on Eastham Unit, but that it goes much deeper than that. It’s obvious to (me) that there are (old open wounds) in your life that you’re still emotionally bleeding from, and whenever you have certain kind of run-ins with folk, it synonymous to the peeling back of a scabreminding you of memories of people and events in your life that you wish you could forget. I know, because I’ve been there - and still am. However, my advice to you is…” lay both you and your burden down in the hand and heart of Jesus, and let him make you over - starting with healing on the inside.” that is where I’m at right now, and pray that you, too, will come to be; otherwise “bitterness, anger, hatred, and envy” will eventually consume you. Well my friend, as I bring this message to an end, I feel strongly compelled to (warn you) - “focus more on God” for now, rather than your music, because until your heart is right - “nothing you touch will prosper!” and for your sake, don’t put God to the test. “for what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26) Whatever you do, “DON’T BE SATAN’S FOOL!” God is on control of your destiny, and perhaps (music) does play a major role in what’s ahead of you; however, your connections in the music industry and artist on your label - DON’T IMPRESS GOD.” But what does stir His heart, is you being connected to (HIM). What He desires from you is intimacy - a (relationship) that will not be compromised under (no circumstances)! With that said, I encourage you to make amends with your brother’s on Eastham Unit, because “IF YOU WANT TO SEE A DIFFERENCE IN THEM, THEN YOU MUST BE WILLING TO BE THAT DIFFERENCE!” Let your light so shine. Peace! From a concerned brother Minister Oesby PS: I don’t necessarily have to know you, personally, for me to care. It’s just (the God in me)! I hope to hear (read) a praise report from you in the very near future.

TESTIMONY BY: JIMMY NASH “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Rev 12:11). The Providence of God: “God’s continual care for His creation and His people is called in doctrinal term His providence. The Word reveals that God manifests a love and care for His own people, each of whom He values” (e.g., Ps 91). I was sent to the VA Hospital in Temple, Texas for a medical evaluation. Upon returning back to my unit, I was involved in a TDC accident injuring my back and other areas in my body. Because of the accident I was given medical attention at my unit including X-rays of my back. Later, I had an annual physical. Everything was OK the doctor stated. About (3) months after the physical one Officer cane to me later and stated, “You’re on a medical chain to go to the hospital in Galveston, Texas.” I stated, “No one ordered me to go to a hospital so I went and signed a medical refusal.” No one had said anything to me as of why I was going to the hospital but this one nurse stated: “We will come to you one more time and if you refuse then that will be it for medical attention.” So as time passes on I had another physical and again everything was fine. About (3) weeks after I had what’s called a follow up physical. I am saying in my mind that I just had a physical thinking that this was a mistake. I went and the Doctor started reading these long words to me that I didn’t understand. I asked the Doctor, “Are you sure you got the right person?” He asked, “What’s your last four numbers?” I told him and he stated, “Mr. Nash you have cancer!” You need to start saying your prayers! I am scheduling you for a cat scan, will you go and have that done?” it took a while for me to say anything and then I said, yes I will go. Inside I wanted to cry but I knew that I had to be strong. I remember the Word say, “To fight the good fight of faith.” (1 Tim 6:12a). “To endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (2 Tim 2:3). The Doctor asked, “Did you ever smoke?” I stated that I smoked for (40) years but I haven’t smoked in the past (12) years. I know that I am a son of God (John 1:12). As Jesus states in His Word, “Jesus Christ, is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Heb. 13:8). I went to my church, The Church on the Rock and I told them the Doctor’s diagnosis. The Word says, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him (James 5:14-15). I said, this diagnosis is what man says but the devil is a liar. I started praying Isaiah 53:5 and I Peter 2:24. Isaiah was prophesying in Isaiah 53:5 and stated, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; and the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with His stripes we are healed.” The Apostle Peter looked back at the cross of Calvary. “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes we were healed.” (Isaiah 53:5 & I Peter 2:24). Sin causes sickness. Jesus blood cleanseth us of sin. (I John 1:7b). God’s Word states, “Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.” (Jer. 32:27; 17). God is no respecter of person. (Acts 10:34). He is LORD over cancer! (Phil 2:11). There is no sickness in the body of Jesus and I am one with Him! (John 17:11; 21-23). He promise in His Word that, “No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper.” (Isaiah 54:17). And states, “That His Word that goeth forth out of His mouth, it shall not return unto me (Him) void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it.” (Isaiah 55:11). Pray God’s Word back too him! Speak to the mountain in your life. (Mark 11:22-23). God’s Word states that, “The just shall live by faith.” (Hab. 2:4; Rom 1:17; Gal 3:11; & Heb. 10:38). “Thy faith hath made thee whole.” (Matt 9:22). God responds to faith! Therefore, we need to be in fellowship with Him at all times either through His Word, prayer, in church or in fellowship with other believers. We need to have fellowship with God! Through God’s providence the diagnosis of cancer was made known through prayer by faith I was healed by God. God Word says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Heb. 11:1, 6). God promises us health, “Behold, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thou soul prospereth.” (3 John 2). God wants to demonstrate His power through each one of us. One must speak to the situations and circumstances in one life (Mark 11:22-26). Pray and seek God’s face concerning all things because He promises that, “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” (Rom 8:28). Also He states, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need.” (Heb. 4:16). The outcome of the cat scan was, “It’s negative, you’re cancer free!” God healed me! (See Matt. 4:23-24). God is still working miracles today! He healed me from drug additions: Heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine. He healed me from a nervous breakdown, He healed me from a coma and He has healed me from cancer. Praise God!!! I thank all that was interceding for me in Jesus Name. Be Encouraged!!!

By the time Bobby arrived, the football game had already started. "Why are you so late?" asked his friend. "I couldn't decide between going to church and going to the football game. So I tossed a coin," said Bobby. "But that shouldn't have taken too long." said the friend. "Well, I had to toss it 35 times."

TRUTH’S TRUTH: Prayer is the place where burdens change shoulders. TODAY'S REMINDER: Life, even with all of its struggles, is still one beautiful gift. Treat it as such. TRUTH: God allows us to experience the low points of life in order to teach us lessons we could not learn in any other way. The way we learn those lessons is not to deny the feelings, but to find the meanings underlying them. They're there. See them, hear them, feel them. Better Days.

FEELINGS

We are quickly approaching a time where passions and desires tend to run wild; where the moon and stars, are perfectly aligned together, creating the perfect atmosphere, for a loved-child. As two hearts rhythmically begin to be as one; there’s no finer place to be, that’s located under God’s sun. A total mysticism which engulfs us, at this point and time; which causes our emotions and inner beings to abruptly become unwind. Love is in the air, you can feel it’s magic everywhere. Like a breath of fresh air, which literally takes your breath away; like the peace & serenity, of sitting on the sand, by the dock of the bay. What pleasure, what joy, what excitement, there’s no better enjoyment, that you will find; as two hearts that beat as one, come together, to experience the sensations, of this “Valentines.” B. Our God does not faint Nor grows weary each day There's no searching His understanding Or knowing His infinite ways He gives power to the faint Increasing their strength and might For even the young lie exhausted And grow weary in their lives But those that wait upon the Lord, He shall strengthen and renew They shall mount up close to God And soar as eagles do They shall run and not be weary They shall walk and not grow weak They shall be changed and renewed As their God they humbly seek. Isaiah 40:28-31

Meca, I thank God for the many blessings He has given to me, thank you for being honest with me, I was shocked but Happy at the same time; in God’s word he says in Ephesians 3:20 expect unexpected things abundantly above all that we ask or think. Just be careful my sister to keep away from evil desires because they fight against your very soul. I pray you will grow in holiness & be a believer despite of what others do or how they act. Stay prayed up & pray diligently & seek God diligently. Let NO MAN think he can have any measure of victory over his inner corruption without taking it to the Lord again & again in prayer. The same holds true in praying for others. Just know count on the truth of instant forgiveness & good luck with your future husband Samuel V. Harris I wish you both God speed. Love your sista in Christ & Friend for a lifetime. Koquisha Mitchell, Killeen, TX

Hey Lemar! I’ve been patiently waiting to hear if you made your parole from your brotha, but I haven’t heard from him lately, I hope all is well. Anyways… I continue to lift you up in prayer. If God shows you favor, please! Don’t lose focus. Continue your walk in Christ. I am asking that you also lift me up in your prayers for I recently lost my mother 1/14/13. it’s been hard on me but I understand that we are all here on borrowed time. It was also God’s will. I have my head held high because I trust God knows best. If you don’t already have my info here it is: Jameca Mitchell #1754155, Crain Unit, 1401 State School Rd., Gatesville, TX 76599. Please keep in touch. Much Love! Love always, Meca My dearest big brother Lemar Ervin This is the month for us to be in rejoicing mood and walking in the light of the Lord. Big Bro. - God looked around His garden and found an empty space. He looked down upon this earth and saw our mothers “Betty Mae Miller” tired face. He put His arms around mom and lifted mom to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, because He only takes the best. It broke our hearts to lose mom, but mom didn’t go alone. Parts of us went with mom the day God called mom home 2/12/10. Mom memories are treasured in our hearts and no one can steal. Mom’s death leaves a wound only time can heal. Mom will live in our hearts everyday and beyond., and we’ll be with mom one day, laughing, talking, loving each other again. Hold on Brother, I love you! Lil Bro. Samuel V. Harris

To Rey P., Just a word of gratitude Bro., for your faithfulness in sharing what God has placed in you to share, Keep on doing and be blessed.” - Big G. Revy Rev. say Bro, words are few! Thanks for your love. Remember, we’re in it together and there’s plenty of work to do. sometimes many, sometimes one, it’s all the same to Him! Don’t forget you have a mantle that few have and there’s always going to be someone that He will send your way out of the ordinary. Be watchful! Know that I love you Bro. and will always be so grateful to Him for you in my life. - “Big G” THIS IS TO MY ANGEL ALICE - I’M ALMOST SURE ALL THE FELLOWS INCARCERATED CAN RELATE Alice when we were together the laughter was loud and the stories where endless, and the feelings felt easy. Just having to blow off steam with use to lift my spirits, and put my troubles in check, which renewed my outlook for another day. As I lay here in this dark cold cell there was no wonder why I use to call you first when something was funny or outrageously happens, and turn to you first when I needed a little support (or a lot) … even though you’re messed up with me, I’m still proud that I had that friend in you. Down to earth to share just about anything with, GOD FEARING, smart and wise enough to help guide my life and give me an attitude adjustment when I needed it. So if we never share the LOVE you deserved again. I thank you for the wonderful kids you gave me, I thank you for all the laughter, love and your presence in my life. FOREVER YOURS, Ced Sr.

“As an apricot tree stands out in the forest, my lover stands above the young men in town. All I want is to sit in his shade, to taste and savor his delicious love. He took me home with him for a festive meal, but his eyes feasted on me! 5-6 Oh! Give me something refreshing to eat—and quickly! Apricots, raisins—anything. I'm about to faint with love! His left hand cradles my head, and his right arm encircles my waist! 7 Oh, let me warn you, sisters in Jerusalem, by the gazelles, yes, by all the wild deer: Don't excite love, don't stir it up, until the time is ripe—and you're ready.” Song of Solomon 2:3-7 (MSG) My Love, Darnell Johnson, how blessed I am that God joined me to you.
