THE SPOKEN WORD a
l e t t e r
f r o m
Greetings, As I sat and write this our unit is on lockdown for our (overdue) scheduled shakedown. For those of you who may not know what a shakedown is, it’s when each housing area has to pack up all their property and go to a designated area to have it searched for contraband (anything you’re not suppose to have)! God is wanting us to do “spiritual shakedowns” on ourselves to get rid of anything that shouldn’t be there. The difference between prison shakedowns and spiritual shakedowns is, in here the officers is the one going through our property and throwing “stuff” away. But with God, through His Word and the Holy Spirit, He will show us Christians what should and shouldn’t be in our life, and it’s up to us to get rid of it. Think about it, you may be overdue for a “SHAKEDOWN”!

blessed to go home to their families. Brothers Loyce Stevenson, Columbus Johnson, Jeremiah Busby, and Michael Howard, please know you’re in our thoughts and prayers. Myself and others are looking for good examples of how it can be done out there. All of you brothers have good wives who was there for you during your incarceration and was there for you when you got out, and more so, they all love the Lord! We’ve all seen and heard of the “bad” reports, you brothers follow in the footsteps of those who are doing the right thing out there, and the names are too many for me to list, but they know who they are and you guys know them also. I’ve spoken to all of you on the phone except for Michael, and I’m looking forward to that one day soon when we come up. Jeremiah I’m waiting on my pictures and another letter with an address for me to write you also.
and will reward you in due time! Be Blessed! V.L. Wilson Sr. ATTENTION: We need everyone to be in prayer about the means for us to get the newsletters printed each month. For untold reasons, I will no longer be able to do this at my job as I have done for the past 5 years and 9 months. We know God is going to provide a way some how, but for now we need prayer and possibly donations in the event we have to purchase a printer on our own. In the event you do not receive next months newsletter this is the reason why. We thank you in advance for your prayers. “Then the eyes of both of them were opened…” Genesis 3:7 “IT ALL STARTS WITH THE MAN” I like how the “New Kings James Version” renders today’s scripture. The word “then” indicates that what took place in verse 7 didn’t happen until after what took place in the last past of verse 6. I often wondered why Eve’s eyes weren’t opened when she ate the fruit. Because God had made them to become one flesh (2:24), and God had given the command to Adam (the head) and not Eve (2:15-17). I have to believe because of the above facts; Adam could have rectified Eve’s disobedience by not eating the fruit himself. When God knew they had disobeyed Him, He called out to Adam first (3:9-11). The latter part of verse 11 says: …”have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat.” Again in verse 17 God says: “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and eaten from the tree of which I commanded you……” It’s very important that as a Christian husband you know your role. That starts with knowing God’s word personally (2 Timothy 2:15). Then you must love and care for your wife by staying in place. It’s evident that Adam left Eve to fend for herself against Satan. And at all cost we must not heed the voice of our wife “if” it is contrary to the word of God. It’s for a reason that God commands the woman to submit to her husband’s authority (Ephesians 5:22-24). When the man is doing what is required of him, more times than not the woman will also. In any event, it all starts with the man! Be Blessed, Virgil L. Wilson Sr.

ACTIVE FRONTLINE MESSAGE FOR JUNE FOUR BENEFITS OF PRAYER First of all, the precedent must be set concerning the kinds of prayers that are not acceptable to the Father. This in shown is Isa. 29:13 and 1:13-17, also Proverbs 15:8, 29. Learning to put our situations and total trust in the Father is a process that, as it goes on, allows your faith in Him to grow. However, is it wrong to continue to go to the Father in prayer on a particular issue? No, and Christ tells us why in Luke 18:1, … however, even in that circumstance...we must realize that ultimately, it is God’s will that will be done, and it will be up to us to see the lesson He is trying to show us. We gain access to the following: 1. His provision. He knows and hears what we need Luke 11:9-13 2. His power. The Fathers power is self explanatory, but 1 Kings 18:20-40 gives us a good example of the power we can have access to in out lives through prayer. 3. His protection. When we get our lives in line with God’s will, we receive this. Psalms 121, Proverbs 16:7, Proverbs 19:23 Also Hebrews 13:6 4. His presence. As we yield to the Holy Spirit in our lives and develop our prayer life, we will be able to feel His presence and see His presence in situations in our life, and the life of others. Hebrews 13:5, James 4:8, Proverbs 18:24

WORDS TO INSPIRE
Heal your memories and change your self-image. You can’t drive a car in reverse everywhere you want to go. The same way you can’t keep looking on your failure in the past and try to go forward in this life. Change your direction by changing how you see yourself— you’re in the image and likeness of God! Now move forward soldier! Rev. Darnell Johnson MVP Ministries JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION In January 1863 the Emancipation Proclamation was declared. This legal document said that all slaves were free. But in Texas, someone kept it a secret. They didn’t tell us that we were free. So for a couple of years after the Emancipation Proclamation we were still in bondage. We were acting like slaves because no one told us we were free. In fact, we were so glad that someone told us we made a holiday after the date for African Americans to celebrate, called Juneteenth. Thank God someone told us. if nobody would have told us the good news we would have stayed in slavery much longer. Jesus Christ, on Calvary two thousand years ago signed your Emancipation Proclamation. He declared that you are free, but Satan is trying to keep you from coming to the realization that you don’t have to be a slave to sin. You don’t have to say yes sir to sin’s command, you are free. You can move on with your life. Today you can start living in freedom by the Power of the Holy Spirit. If the son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36) Michael Unit

“HOW GOD CALLED ME TO MINISTRY” - PART 3 Isaiah 28:26; James 1:17 Alonzo D. Fuller #604169, Clements Unit 9601 Spur 591, Amarillo TX 79107 The words I write and submit in these articles are meant to be a blessing. These are revelations I either heard, received or was taught by the Lord. Nothing I say to you seeks flattery, praise or your approval. There is a war between my mind and spirit on whether to share some awesome revelations God has granted me. I am fully aware of the skeptics, including those of my own brethren, but it is the Spirit prompting me to make known the power in Him, I write this word from a position of humbleness and cautiousness that every word comes from Him. Every man who God calls to the ministry of Jesus Christ must go through a period of training allowing God to prepare that man, to develop that man and to equip that man for the work in which he was called. The five-fold ministry gifts listed in Ephesians 4:11 are people - people who are called of God to the full-time ministry. It’s important to understand that the five ministry gifts are a gift from Jesus Christ unto the church. These ministries are not based on natural gifts, but on spiritual gifts - supernatural gifts. We need a ministry equipped with supernatural gifts necessary to stand in the office He calls them to. These gifts are Holy. There is an anointing on each ministry office, and these gifts consist not in name, but in POWER! I truly believe one of the biggest needs within the Body of Christ is an understanding of these marvelous ministry gifts. And if the Lord’s willing, it would be my pleasure in future newsletters to enlighten us about these ministry gifts. But first, I must write about an experience God taught me after He established and sealed me in Him, I learned through my own experiences and through the precious Word of God how we are to live and walk by faith. I am certain many of you who are reading this might be saying, “I already know how to live and walk by faith.” I said the exact same thing years ago, but when Jesus taught me the “God kind of faith” I realize then I didn’t know anything about faith as I ignorantly assumed. I must confess, when I first accepted and responded to the call of God, I possessed absolutely no knowledge what faith is. I would like to have thought I did, but the truth of the matter, I didn’t know anything about faith. As a matter of fact, it never occurred to me that there was a doctrine (teaching) about faith, and every believer must be taught faith. There is a deeper knowledge about faith that we have yet to uncover, but praise God for raising up a beautiful generation of men and women who is preaching and teaching us about faith. Just because a person is born-again with the life and nature of God will not automatically cause your faith to work at a level to believe and receive from God for some of the things needed. Faith must be taught and developed. As an Afro-American boy growing up in a non-denominational church, I would always hear the expression, “Have faith in God...your faith will make a way for you...keep your faith,” but I would walk away confused and not knowing what or how to get faith. As in many church services, the preacher never explained nor taught us how to accomplish those things. Now I an beginning to understand why so many Christians walk away from the church empty-handed. I believe (still do) the sheep must come to church to be fed God’s word, but more often than not, so many come and eat the sticks, because there is no hay. A minister should be apt to nourish and to spiritually feed God’s flock with the anointed word with emphasis on faith. For we know, without faith it is impossible to please God. Looking back and recalling the neglect of these preachers to explain how to live and walk by faith gives me the impression they didn’t understand faith nor had knowledge how to teach it. Paul made a spiritual truth that can be applied here. He wrote in 1 Timothy 1:7, “Desiring teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.” Many ministers stand in the pulpits saying and doing things they either heard or saw in someone else, and not understanding none of it. this is no indictment to those who follow another, especially if that person is following Jesus Christ and speaking Jesus words. On the other hand, to follow or repeat what someone else says or does, without knowing what it means and its purposes produces darkness. There is a beautiful truth we can learn from, Psalm 119:130 “The entrance of thy (God) words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Just like those preachers who failed to explain or teach us how to live and walk by faith. When light and revelation is given to us how to live and walk by faith, we will begin to revel in the abundant life in which Jesus Christ came to give us. John 10:10. The Spirit of God introduced Job 38:2, “Who is this that darkness counsel by words without knowledge?” I admit I am guily of this, because I said things and done things without any knowledge whatsoever. When I spoke or acted, I was very sincere, but sincerely wrong. I want to share a revelation the Lord granted me that might help you see what is being said. In this revelation, I saw Farrah Fawcett. Remember her? She was an actress who played in the television series of Charlie’s Angels in the early 1980’s. She died on June 25, 2009. I never knew Farrah had a cancerous disease. I remember asking the Lord about it - why? God’s word gives us the privilege to ask these things. Isaiah 45:11. I asked in faith believing God was going to show mw why Farrah died. Although I also knew God shows me things to teach me and to help me to learn about Him. As tears rolled down my face, I laid on the floor wondering if she was saved. That night, I received a revelation what happened to her. what I am about to tell you, is a revelation that can bless all of us and benefit us as well. Remember, a ministry gift is a gift from Jesus to the church. The ministry gift is a blessing to the church, not to bless himself or herself, but to bless others. I saw Farrah Fawcett in a bed, in the middle of a large room, she was sick. There were four sides made out of glass or windows, and light came through the glass into her room and onto her bed. It seemed the light was keeping her alive. I saw person after person march into her room speaking words to her. I couldn’t hear the words, but I knew what the words represented. They spoke sympathetic words, consoling words and words to make her “feel” good. However, each and every word coming out of their mouth was dark with a blackness that flew and splattered against the glass, and started to spread over the light shining through the glass. Every time they spoke a word, a blackness would fly out of their mouth to cover up the light coming into the room. Farrah Fawcett was growing weaker and weaker. Their words were putting out the light and producing death. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death (sickness) and life (healing) are in the power of the tongue…” Eventually the light that was in her room was put out. Although, just as many Christians are very sincere and have the best of intentions to minister, it’s very often we go about it without any knowledge. For example, Peter asked Jesus, “Lord shall we smite with the sword?: Jesus told me, their intentions were good, they truly desired to be helpful, and wanted to demonstrate their loyalty to Him - but they went about it without knowledge. They did not wait for His answer, and they acted rashly. Luke 22:47-51. There is a move of the Holy Spirit that will be forever lost to us, if we don’t learn how to follow Him in spiritual things. There is a great, great, great desire of our God and Father to show His power unlike anything the world has even seen. Jesus told me, He is looking for men and women who are determined to press onward and strive for the High Calling that’s in the power of His Word. there is a realm of the Holy Spirt we have not scratched, for God prepared for us a Kingdom that earthly words or a Hollywood movie cannot describe! Part four in the following newsletter. Be Blessed!
GEM - THE PRECIOUS STONE… Brothers and Sisters, please bear with me as I share my vision from God. The word GEM has one of the most profound spiritual and physical significance one will ever be able to imagine and it all started right here in Genesis 2:18, 21-22. vs. 18, God -(G) said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” vs. 21 God -(G) caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and took one of his ribs, and closed him back up. vs. 22 The rib God -(G) took from Adam, He made a woman, and brought her to him. Remember Adam was no where around during God -(G) and the woman’s intercourse - mutual dealings or communication. As the story goes on, we find Adam allowing his wife to have intercourse - communication with the serpent and as a result of it, he beguiled her. Gen. 3:6 tells us that she ate of the forbidden fruit. Stay with me now. No where in the scripture does it mention any effects as a result of eating the fruit, she didn’t die. God (G) being the creator of life, made the woman to be the giver of life. On the other hand, after she gave this same fruit to her husband it was then that death came just like God -(G) said it would in Gen. 2:17, “...For in the day, God -(G) came to visit them and of course there were in an hiding place, vs. 8 when they came out, they were filled with confessions and blaming their faults else where. Adam blamed the woman and she blamed the serpent. God -(G) took no sides, He held everyone accountable for their own actions. To the serpent God -(G) cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field: he was cast down to his belly and the dust of the ground was to be his food. God then placed a curse upon Satan, vs. 14, 15… “I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” and the woman God -(G) greatly multiplied her sorrow and her conception; in sorrow when she brought forth children…” vs. 16. In Gen. 3:20 Adam called his wife Eve -(E) the Hebrew word for Eve -(E) is Chavvah, live, live-spring. The mother of all living. Now we’ve got the (GE). Moving on toward the benevolence of my vision. In Gen. 12:1 God -(GE) met the man Abram who God -(GE) told to get out of his country and away from his people and his father’s house to a land He will show him. In vs. 2. God -(GE) told him He will make him a great nation and will bless him and make him great; and would bless him. Obeying God -(GE), Abram took his barren wife Sarai - (unfruitful, sterile), and headed into Egypt, however, out of fear he told his wife if anyone enquired about their relationship just say he was her brother and that’s exactly what happened. As a result of Sarai’s beauty the Egyptians enquired about her. What Abram didn’t know was, while he was operating in fear, God -(GE) was operating behind the scene. As soon as Pharaoh finished entreating Abram with sheep's, oxen, he asses, menservants, maidservants, she asses, and camels, God -(GE) then plagued Pharaoh’s and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram’s wife. Pharaoh them called Abram and enquired to him about the lie saying Sarai was his sister. Pharaoh commanded Abram to take his wife and get the heck out and go their way. Gen. 12: 12-20. In Gen. 17:4 God -(GE) made a covenant with Abram in that he would be a father of many nations. In vs. 5 God -(GE) changed his name to Abraham, from Abram-which means-exalted father to Abraham-that means-father of a multitude. In vs. 6 God said, “He will make him exceeding fruitful, and will make nations of him, and kings will come out of him. vs. 7 God -(GE) said He establish his covenant between Him and Abraham and his seed after him in their generation for an everlasting covenant, to be a God -(GE) unto him, and to his seed after him. from there God -(GE) changed Sarai’s name to Sarah-means Queen of Princes or Mother of Princes, for Sarai meant-Princely. God -(GE) promised Abraham a son however, he and his wife laughed at God -(GE), he was a hundred years old and his barren wife was ninety years old. But, in Gen 21:1-8 God visited Sarah as He said and did unto her as He promised and she conceived and gave Abraham a son in his old age, Isaac-a type of Christ. See Gen. 22. Now the fulfillment and the completion as we move on to the book of Luke 1:26-38 where the angel Gabriel was sent from God -(GE) to the house of a young lady whose name was Mary who was alone at the time she heard, “Hail, thou that are highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.” The angel went on to tell her about the conception in her womb that was about to take place, she was having a Son and she was to call His name Jesus. (The Greek form of the Hebrew, Yehoshua - rendered, Joshua meaning “Savior” or “God who is Salvation.”) In the book of Matthew 1:23 it says, “And they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God-GE with us. This supernatural conception by God - (GE) through His Holy Spirit upon Mary completed the GEM - a precious stone, a thing of great beauty and worth. In 1 Peter 2:6 it says, “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a Chief corner stone, elect precious: and he that believeth on His shall not be confounded.” Brothers, how much clearly of a picture could anyone ever paint of the beauty of a woman. God, down through His-tory completed such a beautiful GEM through the women He made for the man for His purpose. Can you imagine the plan He has in store for you through the woman He made for you. What’s in your GEM? Minister Jimmy Brigham #746533 Souls Survivors Ministry - Eastham Unit

“A JUDGMENT IN YOU” Matthew 7:1-2 and 5, Romans 2:1-3, Romans 14:4, 10-13 First we must give God the Honor, Glory and Praise for God is worthy to be praised. I would like to give thanks to my beloved Bro. & Sis. Virgil and Shy Wilson for following God’s will in this great ministry. Prayers goes out to my wife, Pastor Anita Clark Smith, to all our families and my brothers and sisters in white. A special thank you to Sis. Shy Wilson for all the lard work in preparing the “SPOKEN WORD NEWSLETTER” to reach so many readers. God loves you Bro. Virgil and Sis. Shy Wilson and so do I. “A judgment in you” Turn to Matthew 7:1-2 and 5 Do not judge or you too will be judged. (v.2) “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Here Jesus is speaking to us that we as believers, Christians are not to judge anyone hypocritically or self righteously. When you point the finger at someone else there’s three of your own fingers pointing back at you. When you judge hypocritically it mean seeing fault in someone else, thinking what someone else did is so bad that you can’t see or want acknowledge the things you’re doing thinking nobody sees them. But Jesus us sitting at the right hand of God interceding for all us, and He sees everything we do whether good or bad...self righteous judgment, is thinking you’re so holy you don’t have faults or make mistakes. Always wanting others to see you as “Holier than thou”. (v.5) You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s or sister’s eye. Jesus speaks here about how hypocritical it is for us and I said “us” to criticize someone for their faults , while remaining blind to our own faults. Turn to Romans 2:1-3 “You,” therefore, have no excuse you who pass judgment on someone else for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. God’s word tells us again that when we pass judgment on others of the same things… so who are you to talk about someone else… (v.3) so when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think...you will escape God’s judgment? Turn to Romans 14:10-13 (v.4) who are you to judge someone else servants? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. God’s word is speaking to us, that Christians must not reject a fellow Christian, who is also a servant of God. No matter what he or she has done in their past or is doing. We should pray for them that God touch their heart to come closer to Him. talking about them or refusing them will only hurt your Christian walk. Because one day you will go before Christ for Him to accept you into His kingdom or reject you...so please be very careful of how you treat others. (v.10) You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. (v.11) It is written: “as surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before me” every tongue will confess to God. (v.12) So, then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. (v. 13) Therefore, let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brothers way. The word of God is clear, we are to lift up not put down...we are not to be a stumbling block for anyone...How can we as Christians cause stumbling blocks in others? By not lifting them up, by not encouraging them, by not praying with them or for them… In closing of this message “A Judgment in You” close your eyes and think… what if God would do the same to us as we do to others? Because God sees our faults, and He loves us the same so why we can’t see our brother’s or sister’s faults and love them as God loves us. Again, PLEASE be careful how you treat others...I pray that this message causes all of us (me included) to pray and not talk, to love and not judge, to lift-up and not put down anyone… In Jesus Name “A Judgment in You”. Pastor James Smith McConnell Unit When prayers goes up, blessings come down!!! We pray for Bro. & Sis. Virgil and Shy Wilson for this great ministry: The Day of the Lord Ministries and “The Spoken Word” newsletter.” May God bless all of us with His love, peace and joy. In Jesus Name, AMEN!!!
“I’VE GOT A TESTIMONY” Written by: Joseph Evans (with a Poem by: Timothy Hardin) So many people look at me and think they know my story. But they only see from the outside. They don’t really get to know me; see I’ve got a story to share! I’ve got a testimony… The unseen spirit of God is the greatest protection against sins unseen danger’s, to show His love Jesus died for us; to show our love; we live for Him. they don’t know how God delivered me, how He saved me from molestation and animosity! Many judge me by what they see. They don’t take time to get to know me. I’ve always been a quick thinker, yet from childhood on, I was an excessive drinker. They don’t know how I fought and struggled; to overcome my troubles… They don’t know that there was another side of me; a secret life I tried to keep wrapped up in the perverse lust of homosexuality! No one knew how much I secretly hated myself! the spirit of the Lord God is upon me to preach good tidings to the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound (Isaiah 60:1) Instead of polishing our own images, to be guarding and reflecting the image of God, which is being perfected in us through Christ. One of the spirit roles is to form the likeness of Christ in us. they didn’t know I thought of dying, I wanted to kill myself. they didn’t know I was a criminal, a thief! All they saw was an image of the real me… They couldn’t see what I kept hidden within; the lies, deceit, cheating, the sin. No one knows how hard I tried to change on my own. But without Jesus it continued to go wrong!! Yet, He began to show me a real reflection of myself; seeing my pitiful mess, surrendering; nothing I kept. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. (Galatians 3:22). All Christian’s should know that they’ve met their Soul-Mate, and His name is Jesus Christ!!! So, today, when others see me, I want them to take a good look, not just see! I’m so much more than what they believe; talk with me, and give God all of the glory, in all thing’s good and real… “I’VE GOT A TESTIMONY!!!” “I’VE GOT A TESTIMONY” Written by: Timothy Hardin #904644 So many people look at me, thinking they know my story. Beloved Brothers & Sisters in Christ, Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus (Col. 3:17). I desire to share the word of God for instruction in righteousness II Timothy 3:16, 17; Ps. 37:1-5. I received the March 2013 issue of The Day of the Lord newsletter and I read it and I enjoyed most of what I read so I’m grateful to instruct in righteousness concerning doing the will of God. I must correct you Bro. V.L. Wilson sir for it’s profitable on the issue quote: “Don’t let the negative few out weigh the positive many” there is only a few positive and many negative (Matt. 7: 13, 14) “Enter ye in at the strait gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be which go in there at: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it” (Matt. 20:16; Matt. 7: 22; Prov. 16:25; John 14:6). I read Bro. Joseph Junior Evans article, and Bro. Royester Jones who requested correspondence. I myself request correspondence a while back and not one individual responded and I must acknowledge that hurt and I felt alone, but the spirit remind us that we walk by faith not by sight II Cor. 5:7. It’s God’s will for us to focus on His Word not on the circumstance (Hebrews 12:1, 2). Bro. Elijah took his eye off the word and start looking at his circumstances and thought he was alone (I King 19:918). God end up replacing Elijah but He had 7000 left in Israel, all the knees which has not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him, but look at what Elijah did in faith of God’s Word (I King 18:39-46) but Joseph you’re not alone (I Peter 5:5-11). God’s Word is His will for our lives, His will for our lives is His Word and only those who love God and obey (do) His Word (will). It’s His will for us to enter heaven by obeying His Word (Matt. 7:21-29, James 1:22-27, James 4:17). It’s His will for us to esteem His Word more than our necessary food (Proverbs 23:10-14, John 14:15-24) It’s His will for us to do good to all men, especially to those who are of the house of faith (Gal. 6:10) It’s His will for us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matt. 6:24-34). I’m requesting that financial support be provided to The Day of the Lord Ministries and whatever other help is needed. Acts 20:35; I John 3:1-24; Luke 6:30-38; Gen. 45:5-12; Gen. 50:17-20; Mal. 3: 7-18. I’m also requesting prayer that God bless me with a Christian wife, that the Parole Board Members release me from prison and for correspondence. When we know that all things work together for good to them that love God (Romans 8:28) then we can thank God in everything for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I Thess. 5:18; I Thess.2:13, Eph. 4:17-23; Col. 1:1-14 remember Joseph? What purpose God used him for? Answer found in Gen. 45:4-12; Gen. 50:17-20 to preserve life. It’s God’s will for us to know His will and to know God’s will is to know His Word I Tim. 4:3; Col. 4:12; II Tim. 2:15. As we see in Exodus 36:1-7 God stir the heart of the people not only to give to get His work done but they gave to the point that they gave more than needful that Moses had to proclaim and command them not to give anymore. God loves a cheerful giver II Cor. 9:1-15. I also need the members to write letters of support for a decision of release by writing letters to: Texas Pardon & Parole 8712 Shoal Creek, Suite 100 Austin, TX 78757 Phone no. (512) 406-5943

“A THOUGHT, A PRAYER BECAME REALITY” FROM: BRO. ANTHONY MCKNIGHT COORDINATOR OF MOE MEN MENTOR GROUP
I would like to share our experience with everyone, because, “So a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” and the Word of God says, “If you abide in Me, and My Word abide in you, you can ask Me whatever, and it shall be given to you.” I want you all to know, that no matter where your location is, it can’t keep you from your destination, because, “Greater is He that is in me (us) than he that is in the world.” and we also know that God is faithful…, and “He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us!” Who are you depending on? And I heard someone say, “If Jesus paid the price for you, then is He (Jesus) getting what He paid for?” I want to challenge you all to do something for someone, that will bring God the glory, and will be a blessing for that person. And think outside the box, because “All things are possible for God!” I was sitting down talking to a good friend of mine, but I think of him (Mr. Carr) as a father figure and mentor. He is wise and have a quiet spirit, that is contagious. He is also my brother in the Lord, which he wholeheartedly loves, with all his heart, and mind and strength. We are here at the Stringfellow Unit, on the Faith-Based Dorm, called “GENESIS”. And as we were talking one day, as we do on the regular! He said something about his mother (Mrs. Eva) and I listened when he said he hadn’t seen her in 20 years, I thought about my mother, which I seen 6 months ago, after (11) years or so. And the fact that Mr. Carr has been incarcerated the same amount of years, 22 years to be exact! As I listened, it stirred up something on the inside of my heart, that wanted to do something, but I didn’t know what to do, so I prayed about it, and then wrote my lovely wife Arleatha, about my vision of getting Mr. Carr’s mother down here to see him, after 20 years. I knew that it would be an up hill battle, because my wife and I didn’t have the funds to make this vision come to pass. Although my wife is going through some things, and was on a fixed income and not working for almost 6 years. But I really wanted Mr. Carr and his mother (Mrs. Eva) to see each other, because they both deserve it. So I talked to my wife (Arleatha) and we discussed the details. Then I wrote 8 of my family members to ask them for their support, (money wise) which did what they could, but only a few came through, but God did send us some extra help from others who heard about this project. And it was set, the date confirmed. But something unexpected happened, Mr. Carr’s mother couldn’t make the date, because of some doctors appointments that she had, plus after a great visit with my wife, a couple of days later, I was called to the Chaplain’s office to receive a call from my wife, saying that she was in a car accident on the freeway after leaving here on Easter Sunday. She was okay, but a little shook up, and the car was totalled. So now, we are in a real bind, looking at in from the natural, but from the spiritual standpoint, we knew that God is faithful. So as the new date that was set to go pick (Mrs. Eva) up. Arleatha was still in the process of looking for some transportation and finding the funds for the trip. Because she would have to drive from Houston to Dallas to pick Mrs. Eva up, and on top of that, Mrs. Eva is 92 years old. Things didn’t look good, but we still held on to hope. And what happened next, was only from God, the car we had was 7 years old and she, yes my wife named the car (Cloee) (smile). But we was blessed with an even better car (SUV) Praise God! Now with this blessing, that only could have come from God, because it says, “Every good and perfect thing come down from the Father of lights.” So on May 04, 2013, Saturday morning, my wife brought Mrs. Eva down here to the Stringfellow Unit to see her son, Mr. Carr, which is 75 years old, plus we all had a special four hour visit, we took 10 photos, to memorialize this special reunion. And Mrs. Eva was just a sweetheart, that said, “I have 2 sons down here”, that was a humbling moment in my life, that I will forever cherish, and Mr. Car said that, “this visit filled me up!”. This all reminded me of the goodness of God, and not giving up on your vision, because it’s not where you are located, it’s where you are destined to be, that matters, “God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him!” And the reward that me and my wife received from all of this, was to see the joy of a mother and son eyes meet after 20 years, and to see the smiles on their faces, that’s my (our) reward! And I give God all the glory for all that happened. So, brothers and sisters, we know that all things work together for the good, for them that love God, and are called according to His purpose! I want to also thank my beautiful and loving wife Arleatha McKnight, for being the wheels behind the vision that I had in my heart, “Thank you Baby”, and all those who made this experience a success, and all the many prayers that were prayed. And so many people were blessed because of this, so never underestimate what can happen if you follow through on the thoughts that you have, that will be a blessing for someone else. We had an awesome time in the Lord, and if you desire something like this to happen in your life, all you have to do is have a thought, A prayer and it can become REALITY! (God is Good) Be a Blessing!
Humbly, Your Brother in Christ Anthony Wayne McKnight #639712 Stringfellow Unit Faith Based Dorm - “GENESIS”
THINKING, TALKING AND WALKING INTO YOUR BLESSINGS! (Deut. 28:2) “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.” (Pro. 10:6) “Blessings are on the head of the righteous…” (James 1:17) “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” We all want blessings to come in our lives. But are you thinking, talking and walking into your blessings God has for you? (Mark 5:25-34) is the story of a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years. She suffered many things from many physicians and spent all she had and still had not been blessed to be healed. Many times the way we think, speak, and walk destroy' s our blessings. We as Christians may think godly, speak godly, but walk like the devil! Or we may try to talk godly, fake a godly walk and think all type of worldly thoughts. Here I wish to show you how this certain woman thought Jesus! Spoke Jesus! And walked to Jesus for her blessing! (Verse 27) “when she heard about Jesus…” His name was on her mind. She was thinking if she could just touch His garment; she would be made whole. (Verse 28) “For she said, if only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Jesus was in her speech. She not only thought healing, she spoke healing which was Jesus! How many of us think Jesus and speak Jesus, just to turn around and speak against what we just thought and spoke for our blessing? For example: You think in your mind Jesus will heal you and you speak, “I know the Lord will heal me!” But turn right around in a conversation and say stuff like, “I got a cold or I’m sick…” you’ve just shot your own blessing of healing out of your walking into it! This woman thought it and spoke it, but didn’t turn around and say, “Jesus, I’m bleeding and have been for twelve years…” No, she thought Jesus can heal her, she spoke Jesus can heal her, and in (Verse 29) we see she walked right into her blessing! “Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.” Bothers and sisters, as Christians we need to think faith, talk faith, and walk faith. (Pro. 28:20) says, “A faithful man will abound with blessings…” that word faithful means - firmness, to be form, certain, solid belief. (Hab. 2:4) says, “...the just shall live by his faith.” (Rom. 12:3B), “...God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” you must have faith in your thoughts, words, and the way you act. Men, let’s stop our generational curses to the third and fourth generation by transforming our mind from this worlds way of thinking (Rom. 12:2), to having the mind of Christ (1st Cor. 2:16). Let’s stop talking words of death and start talking words of life. (Pro. 18:21). Start speaking those things that are not as though they are (Rom. 4:17). And please stop walking in the counsel of the ungodly (Ps. 1:1) and start walking in faith and not in what you see (2 Cor. 5:7). Start thinking, talking and walking into your blessings. The woman with the issue of blood found out real quick that if you think faith - Jesus! Talk faith - Jesus! And walk in faith - Jesus! You’ll walk right into your blessing JESUS! God bless you all, and to my Baby Amber, Happy Anniversary Sexy! I’m so glad I was thinking, talking and walking Jesus; cause I walked right into my blessing - YOU! Rev. Darnell Johnson

SOMEBODY IS LISTENING MICHAEL HOWARD DALLAS, TX PRISON LIFE Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ. II Timothy 2:4 tells us, No man that
warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
So, we have to remember; don’t try to please man. Please God, Creator of man. All the guys on Goree Unit, I miss you all and praying for your all! Prison life is different than any other life I know. you meet all kind of people, with all the friends (real friends) I’ve met in prison I wanted to see them go with me. You guys just stay strong, your time is coming! Leaving you guys was like leaving apart of me, I mean; I’ve had my ups and downs, I’ve been in the middle, at the bottom and on the top of many situations. It wasn’t until I gave my life to Christ Jesus that I actually knew who I was, and where I was going. Prison life is all I’ve known for the last 14 years. I had to learn. I had to learn how to get along with people, I had to learn to respect authority and I had to learn how to let Jesus work and take over in my life. A lot of Christians in prison are not “Christians” so be careful. These people are just in the way, but anyway! A lot of you guys are like family outside of family and I love you. The reason why I feel like I’ve left part of me is; I have been mad and upset with inmates more than I have my own family and I’ve prayed with you guys more than my own family, you guys know more about me. I’m not saying I want to see you again in white. I’m saying I’ll never forget you and pray you come home safe and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I would like to thank the officers and staff for their “discipline”, it helped me to obey authority and one day I will appreciate that, so thank you TDCJ employees; may GOD bless you and watch over your loved ones. I can’t explain the excitement in being around the ministries and family. My Big Sister, Shy fixed me and my wife lunch the other day and it was something unreal! Thank you Big Sis, we love you! Keep on moving! Because by your love and support, I know I have a friend. I also went to church, my wife and I, with Shy. It was GREAT! I met Esmer and Amber; Michael and Darnell you guys are truly blessed! These women are out here holding it down for their husbands, and that is for real! So get out so we can have supper together, Don’t worry, we have a cook “SHY”! Until next time take care, Love you guys. Min. Michael Howard Virgil, keep trusting God to handle all things. We all go through a storm or two, but never take your eyes off Jesus. I thank God the He blessed you and Shy with TDOTLM. The word of God says in Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith; but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. you are a just man Virgil, don’t allow the enemy to make you think any different. People out here love you! and we are waiting on you. Every knee shall bow and every tongue will testify against that man to God for our unjust. So us men of GOD best be extra careful. Love, YBIC, Min. Michael Howard To: Mike Green, Danny Dean, Bro. Alberto, Prelow, Elvis Dean Robinson, the brother who cook in the kitchen; I love you and my prayers goes out to you. I’m doing great! Got my personal business rolling and just hanging out with the ministry. Keep me in prayer because the enemy is a lie. YBIC, Min. Michael Howard
To: My Beautiful Wife, Queen and Snow Bunny, thank you for all you have done over these 14 years to show your love, you are terrific! I love you more than words could ever day. Our storm, as well will pass by; Jesus said so. So, please understand my position as a man of God, please baby! I just want us to be one, I’m not of the world, I’m of Jesus! Angels follow me wherever I may go! Happy Anniversary Baby! Your Husband, King and Chocolate Star. Minister Michael Howard Samuel Harris, I got your shout out early “Mr. a*k*a Chocolate Star” (HA HA) I love you brother; thanks man! I been doing fine. God has been truly working in my life. I got to go to my son’s high school graduation, he’ll be gone to Harvard University in August, I’ll miss him! I also had a chance to be at my grandbaby Pre-K graduation; that was awesome. Keep your head up and keep on walking with Jesus. Min. Michael Howard aka Chocolate Star, LOL!!!

to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]Ephesians 3:20 (AMP) One year down and many more to come! Darnell, I’m so in love with you baby. This has been an amazing first year of love and marriage with you. I know I say it often, and only because it’s true, but I truly am blessed to be your wife. You are my lover and best friend, my leader and my brother. I’m standing on Ephesians 3:20 because I know that God is going to do something amazing in and through our marriage. I’m so thankful I get to share life and God’s glory with you. I love you more today than I did a year ago but less than I will next year. Loving you forever!! ~ Your Wife, Amber A. Johnson

SHOUT OUT TO MICHAEL HOWARD (AKA) CHOCOLATE STAR! HA! HA! Man God bless you for making it home! Didn’t tell anyone you were gone. Handle your biz for the Lord and your family. He has open that greatest door of opportunity in life to show the work that He gave you to do. I don’t know you, but I know what God can do for you. I’m sorry that we couldn’t sit down and chop it up to get to know each other my brother in Christ. You haven’t seen nothing. Wait until I hit ground with my skills and blessings that the Lord gave me to do in the Culinary Arts field. God is Good. You and your wife stay grounded in the word 24/7. Keep your eyes open for them haters and look for the believers in Christ Jesus. Keep in touch always, I would like that. God Bless. Samuel Harris #1587734 Mrs. Michelle Robinson, First of all I truly love you with all my heart, body and soul unconditionally. Sometimes a person love can be shown without even having to say “I LOVE YOU”, and sometimes a person actions can be so overwhelming truly nothing else matters. Mrs. Michelle Robinson just sharing my life with you makes me believe in magic. Baby before you came along my life really didn’t have no sense of direction. I wouldn’t say hopeless just needing God in the mix. Even as a child I really never believed in miracles. I never believed a rabbit laid eggs with gifts and $money$. I never believed there was a white man in a red and white suit climbing in peoples chimney’s leaving surprises and eating cookies and drinking our milk. I never believed a woman would come in the middle of the night and steal your tooth and put $money$ under your pillow to replace what she stole. Really I caught my Grandmother hand under my pillow anyways I do sit back and glance over my past years of how my life was before you and I met. And I look at how God has truly blessed my life. God has brought love and passion to the very soul I truly thought was road-kill. God brought someone so incredible to my life I can really call my own, and regardless of my faults and stupidity still loves me anyways. Still appreciates me even if I don’t say the right things at times. A person who always pushes me to do better and always encourages me that tomorrow is going to be so much better than yesterday was. And so much extreme passion for ones heart it’s unreal. An any relationship has to prevail just being a witness. Every relationship has trials and tribulations that’s why we have storms. Every relationship has mountains they have to climb over. I truly appreciate God for investing His time to create a beautiful relationship that you and I have Yellow Bone. You are my forever soul mate and the greatest wife that ever walked this earth. I thank God with all my heart, body and soul for having you in my life to walk with me with love encouraging support and with an cherishing love and I don’t care who know it! Mrs. Yellow Bone I love you forever!!! Your Husband Michael
Happy Father’s Day!!! All Fathers and Grandfathers, including me, doing time from our children. It’s time to focus on our relationship with them and become their backbone, to stop the trend from them to come to prison. Keep writing and encouraging them for the best in life and that you still love them. If anyone has Fathers or Grandfathers living, write them and tell them that you love then and forgive them and start new with them. This also goes for me too! Keep your head straight and keep striving for your prize. Happy Father’s Day. Samuel V. Harris SECOND CHANCE FATHER To God be the Glory! As Fathers in prison we have a “second chance of being a better father to our children. This goes out to every man in prison that want a relationship with their child or children. God, our Heavenly Father made it clear in His word (Hebrews 13:5)” I will never leave you, nor forsake you. So we as men shouldn’t leave our children, we should always keep that mine of communication open. Just as we ask our Heavenly Father to forgive us, we must also ask our children to forgive us for not being the Father we should have been to them. We must explain to them in a loving way we made mistakes in our lives, that we’re not proud of and don’t want to pass on to our children. We must always write to our children and tell them: I love you...I’m sorry and how God has made a change in our lives. Even if our children don’t write back, we must continue to write them. Please my brother “don’t give up, because God didn’t give up on us...our children need to hear us say from our heart we love them. I never had a father in my life (as most of us) my mom was both mother & father to us, I said growing up I will be better than the man who got my mom pregnant and left her alone raising us. but in reality I became just like him or worse. Because I left my children home with their mom for a prison cell. (this is real talk my brothers) with God’s loving care and these self-help program (classes) Quest for Authentic Manhood, Voyager and Experiencing God they can help you find the words to express your love for your children putting God first in my life and wanting a relationship with my children, these classes helped me. I now have a close loving relationship with my daughter LaTonya, who at first would not write me for no reason. So to all Fathers reading this shout out with God first in your life, His word (Romans 8:31) If God is for us, who can be against us? you can have a second chance to be that Father God is calling you to be in your child or children’s lives. In Jesus Name it’s never too late...AMEN Happy Father’s Day to all Fathers… Pastor James Smith McConnell Unit
