A) Please read the text carefully and give each paragraph the most suitable title.

VALENTINE’S DAY Valentine’s Day is one of the most famous holidays and it is mostly celebrated on February 14th every year. It’s a day to show affection. Most people send cards, called Valentines, to their friends, family, and loved ones. It’s common to leave the card unsigned. Other traditions on this day are buying chocolates, candies and flowers, especially red roses. Valentine’s Day used to be an American and European thing but it I now celebrated all over the world and has become too commercial. Legend says that the holiday became Valentine’s Day after a priest named Valentine. Valentine was a priest in Rome at the time when Christianity was a new religion. The emperor at that time was Claudius II. He ordered the Roman soldiers not to marry or become engaged. Claudius believed that as married men, his soldiers would want to stay home with their families rather than fight his wars. Valentine disobeyed the Emperor’s order and secretly married the young couples. He was eventually arrested, imprisoned and executed. Valentine was beheaded on February 14th. After his death, Valentine became a saint. As Rome became more Christian, the priests moved the spring holiday called Lupercalia from the 15th February to the 14th. From then on, the holiday honored Saint Valentine instead of Lupercus, a Roman god. (adapted) http://english-zone.com/holidays/v-day.html
