PHYSICAL EDUCATION


P.E tries to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. It’s important to have a physical condition because it helps to have an open mind. We do two hours of physical education every Tuesday. We finish twenty minutes before because at the end of the class we have to take a shower. Usually we stay outdoors but we have a little gym too.


Our teacher likes to invent and prepare new games to make the classes more entertaining and funny. Even so they always follows the same order: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Running. Stretching. Games. Explanation and practice of a specific sport.

(sometimes we make history classes from a sport or the benefits to do a sport)


1. We start running around the playground. We run for five minutes to warm up and sometimes we run by dynamic stretching


2. Then we stretch. There are two main forms of stretching exercises: Static and dynamic.We always strat from Dynamic stretching. Depends on the sport that we have to do is better to warm up one part of the body than the other. -Static stretching: Isolated movements that stretch specific muscles. Promotes flexibility and lengthens muscles. -Dynamic stretching: Active movements that warm the body temperature and prepare joints and ligaments for the sport.

3. Games/sport Finally we play some games with balls or we do some sport. The teacher tells us a sport and we spend a few lessons (about three or four) learning its rules, practicing it and playing matches in teams. In the last class we take a little exam that the teacher know if we applied the rules of good games.

How are we evaluated? Although most evaluations are practical, once in a while we do written exams. Another part of the mark it’s based on our everyday sportsmanship and behavior. Evaluation should be understood as a reflective practice that allows us to understand what happens in the educational stage. Well we must allow research on our own practice. Therefore the evaluation should serve to accumulate the highest number of information about a student and on all the aspects that determine the learning process.
