THIS GUY DOES WILD BILL SCHULTZ is celebrating 20 years

GOT TWENTY?

with Teal Construction this month. We are extremely lucky to have such a dedicated and remarkable employee. Bill is definitely the definition of . Since starting in 1995 as a Superintendent, Bill has completed numerous successful projects from Airports to Auto Dealerships, Banks to Big Box Stores, Katy Mills to Coca Cola, there hasn’t been a project Bill couldn’t accomplish. Throughout his time at Teal, he has become one of our experts in Premanufactured Metal Buildings, and helps educate our staff and clients on the construction and benefits. Though more of his time is now spent in the office running our Warranty Department, you can still find Bill supervising in the field for our Special Projects Division.

THANK YOU BILL!

FAVORITE BILL-ISMS: “YAAA RIGHT” “BOUT TIME YOU SHOWED UP” “ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE” “WORKING OR PLAYING?”

Thank you Bill for making each day eventful, welcoming all new employees, being a team player, and never waiting for what’s next, instead always asking HOW CAN I HELP? You remind each of us the definition of dedication and an example of how we should perform! Congrats on 20 years!

TEAL PROJECT

BARC ADOPTION CENTER

THE COTTON GIN

BARC Adoption Center is coming around the curve to completion. The Mike’s are getting the project done, Mike Tancill & Mike Pettus are working against the weather to deliver the envisioned facility with the help of Project Coordinator, Debbie Freeman. BARC is a City of Houston Facility that will be an adoption center for Houston’s stray animals. The project is a CM at Risk that we have been working with the Owner & Design team since December 2013. This is the team’s third City of Houston project and Mike Tancill’s fifth.

This 6000 SF renovation project is converting an existing building into office space and is managed by John LeBlanc & John Shead, supervised by Benny Hopper with Project Coordination by Connie Enmon. The project is one of the specialty projects Teal is always looking for because of the high-end finishes, specific scope of work, and embracing wood construction. The progress on this project continues to unveil beautiful architectural details, specifically the curved wood trusses which will be stained mahogany to provide a definition and focal point for the space.

SAFET Y & AFFILIATIONS Members of Teal’s Project Management team and Safety Manager, John Shead attended the ABC Committee Breakfast in January 30th where we signed our 2015 ABC OSHA Cooperative Safety Program Certificate. Our OSHA-ABC Partnership allows Teal to be a the frontlines of safety .

PROGRESS “

Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success. - Henry Ford

SMITH MIDDLE SCHOOL

TEXAS BAY AREA CREDIT UNION - PASADENA

Texas Weather is one of the best parts of moving to the South, but in the construction industry this can make or break a project without the right construction manager. Luckily our Corpus team is overcoming the winter rain and pouring columns for the Sinton ISD - Smith Middle School project. Jason DeVires, Frank Lopez, and Morelva Gonzalez are our team pushing this project through. This project will be a replacement school for the campus and once the new school is completed we will demolish the majority of the existing facility.

WE HAVE A SLAB! Like many projects in Texas the steady flow of rain that we have been receiving has prolonged the placing of concrete and literally has projects stuck in the mud. The project team of Mark Baumgard, Daryl Gardner, and Connie Enmon have waded through the water and now the foundation is complete. A fun fact about the project is the original building was demolished because it was believed the 30 year old structure was cursed. The original facility was a raised structure and the new building is a slab on grade construction. Let’s hope the curse went away with the debris! This project is our 2nd TBACU!

HRISTI on the new design + c Aviation. Great job TEAM tfolio and in one of our new project was Texas Regional y successfully completed by & Bill Schultz in Angleton.

T R A I N I N G & T E C H N O L O GY Teal’s Quarterly Training Sessions begin this month which will bring the whole company together as a team to review company procedures and learn new industry practices. We work hard to make sure our team is well-informed on all industry practices and market trends. This training allows for our two offices to keep each other knowledgeable on what is going on in their region.

COWBOY OR CITY SLICKER?

From riding bulls to Texas Legislative Day, our Director of Special Projects, Michael Losoya is wearing a lot of hats these days. As a requirement of his ABC Leadership Program, Michael joined a group of construction and design professionals at the state capital to talk candidly with our state legislative representatives. This only happens every two years and is an opportunity that all should participate in which is an experience and a way to get in front of our decision makers. Luckily Losoya made it 8 seconds with the Legislative Day, unfortunately we cannot say the same with the bull! Thank you Michael Losoya for representing Teal Construction this year at our State Capital!

AND WE ARE MOVING. Well not all of us, mainly the construction documents phase. Monday, February 9th Teal Construction held the Phase I Groundbreaking for the New Industrial Park in Angleton. Phase I will include two of the nine buildings which includes one building for Paradigm Consultants. The groundbreaking was successful with over 40 people including 3 County Commissioners, a County Judge, Port Representative and multiple Chamber of Commerce members in attendance. We were very lucky to have a gorgeous day to celebrate this momentous occasion. Thank you to all of the help that day, we wouldn’t be able to complete it without you: Brent, Alex, Junior, Marcelino, Les, and Kelly for the amazing photographs of our event.
