Meet ICON agent Tonya Lee from Gadsden
Two years into the business and already an eXp ICON, Tonya Lee focuses on helping as many families as she possibly can. Born and raised in New York, Tonya drove a semi tractor-trailer for 25 years. With the help of Dawn Jenkins as her real estate agent, Tonya moved to Alabama in 2021 with her husband Stephen and two children, Kali (12) and Breezy (6). In August of 2021, Stephen nonchalantly told her that she ought to get into the real estate business because he thought she'd be good at it. Within a half hour of his suggestion, Tonya had already signed up for classes and started the process. She closed 41 transactions her first year and missed earning ICON by one sale. More determined than ever in year two, she succeeded! As an introvert who knew only one person in the state of Alabama, her real estate agent, Tonya was determined to learn how to make this business work for her. She had to overcome her fear of talking to complete

strangers. Once she did, she found that making and maintaining relationships are the keys to her long term success. She continues to ask herself the question, "Who do I WANT to know?" Thankful to Dawn for introducing her to eXp Realty, Tonya advises new agents to surround themselves with highly successful agents and people. "Watch, listen, and learn from the best," says Tonya. She encourages people to actually implement what they learn and to seek as much education and training as possible. Daughters, Kali (12) and Breezy (6)
Working for sellers is Tonya's passion as she challenges herself to become the top producer for her local association. She recently set a goal of getting 30 listings within 60 days. She put some much focus and heart into her goal that she actually took over 50 before her deadline was complete. As a savvy negotiator, she prides herself on fighting and winning for her clients. It's her favorite aspect of real estate and she takes it seriously. Interestingly, Tonya and Stephen share the same birthday. Tonya, of course, is the oldest by one hour and 57 minutes. They were also married on their birthday so neither can ever forget birthdays or anniversaries in their household. Tonya is such an asset to our community and to the X-team; always offering help, guidance, support, and advice. We appreciate all you do for your colleagues! meet CORY SKIPPER On track to double his recent closed volume in 2024, Cory Skipper has quite the story. After obtaining his MBA from the University of Alabama in 2019 and plunging himself into a 5year period of personal and professional development, Cory and his wife decided to chase their dreams by quitting their professional careers, selling everything in Birmingham, and relocating to Orange Beach for a new life and a new perspective. With a toddler and a newborn, Cory and his wife, name, started over in 2022. In a new market with a new career, Cory immediately got involved with his community by becoming an active member of the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and part of the inaugural class of the Coast Alabama Leadership League, the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, and the Lower Alabama Young Professionals where he was recently awarded the "Young Professional of the Quarter," and serves as the Chairman. His extreme talent for networking, researching the market firsthand, in the field, and collaborating with other business owners, led him to also join the Baldwin Homebuilders Association and the Leadership Council of the Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE). "Building my network helps me stay updated on market trends, which in turn helps my clients buy and sell their properties effectively and efficiently," explains Cory.
