Kristen Sutton
has a heart for helping people and making a difference. After being in real estate for 18 years, she still can't think of a better way to impact lives than by helping them obtain home ownership. "Everyone needs more than a place to live, but a place to call home," she explains.
After earning a BA in English with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alabama, Kristen originally dreamed of attending law school. She quickly learned that wasn't her path when she experienced working in different law offices. Luckily, she and her husband sold a piece of land he had bought years earlier. At the closing table, she thought to herself, "I can do this! How fun and rewarding it will be." This sparked her career in real estate. Kristen is from Prattville, Alabama. She's been married to her high school crush, Lee Sutton for 21 years.
They have one amazing son, Conner, and two dogs; Tito and Taffie. As a family, the Suttons love spending time together, going to the lake, and traveling. Kristen's dream came true when Lee retired from his long-time career with AT&T and joined her in real estate as a certified home inspector. She says she still can't believe she's living this dream.
Throughout her career, Kristen believes the best advice she ever received was to take the time to really listen to people. She believes by really listening and getting to know her clients upfront, she can tap into their needs and relieve some stress of buying or selling. Her best advice to new agents is, "Beware that this business can consume your life. Focus on finding work-life balance." Many people have helped influence her along the way. She never stops learning and is constantly taking gold nuggets from agents she admires no matter how much they may produce. But, Kristen is also sharing all of her top marketing and follow-up secrets she's used in building her ICONIC business. We love that she's a giver and teaches to give back to our Xteam agents.
Her cousin Evan introduced Kristen to eXp Realty three years ago. She is passionate about eXp for the collaboration and the support from our Xteam. "Everyone is willing to share and help. We are all gifted in certain areas and agents at eXp aren't afraid to share," she explains. Recently, she's faced the biggest struggle of her life; losing her beautiful mother to Covid in October 2021. She's learning to live through the grief by honoring her mom. She, her sister, and her sister-in-law have opened a new venture called Mimi's Attic where they sell her mom's items at a booth. All proceeds go to fund the futures of her deeply loved grandchildren.
Your Competition isn't other people. Your competition is your procrastination, your ego. The unhealthy food you're consuming. The knowledge you neglect. The negative behavior you're nurturing & your lack of creativity. Compete against that.
Congrats to Lisa Trull for capping and earning 100% of her commission
Genny Williams announced eXp has allowed her to step away from sales because of the company's revenue share program. Her revenue share exceeded her sales income for 2022. "I'm so extremely grateful that I listened and joined eXp four years ago. We are so blessed to work at a company that cares about us so much that we can build additional streams of income. If I can do it, you can too!
