FIRST PITCH • No. 10 Texas Tech resumes its non-conference slate Wednesday night when the Red Raiders travel to Security Bank Ballpark in Midland to face Abilene Christian in a 6:30 p.m. first pitch. • This is the third-consecutive season where Texas Tech has traveled to Midland for a neutral-site contest as the Red Raiders topped New Mexico, 7-4, in 2014 and then crushed Abilene Christian, 10-2, a year ago. • The Red Raiders are a combined 13-2 since 2004 at Security Bank Ballpark, the home of the Oakland A’s Double-A affiliate the Midland RockHounds. • Texas Tech has averaged over 4,300 fans in each of its last two games at Security Bank Ballpark as 5,189 attended the 2014 matchup with New Mexico while 3,512 packed the stadium to watch the Red Raiders face ACU a year ago. • Abilene Christian will be Texas Tech’s opponent in each of its final two midweek contests on the year as the two schools will also meet May 10 in a rescheduled game in Abilene. TEXAS TECH AT SECURITY BANK BALLPARK IN MIDLAND
Texas Tech will return to Security Bank Ballpark in Midland for the third-consecutive season on Wednesday night when the Red Raiders host Abilene Christian. Tech has won each of its last two games at the hoem of the Midland RockHounds (Oakland A’s Double-A affiliate) as the Red Raiders defeated New Mexico, 6-3, in 2014 and then topped Abilene Christian, 10-2, a year ago. Since the start of the 2004 season, Tech is an impressive 13-2 in Midland with its lone loss coming in 2009 to UTSA and then in 2010 against New Mexico State.
