FIRST PITCH • No. 5 Texas Tech will play its final non-conference game of the regular season Tuesday night when the Red Raiders travel to face Abilene Christian at Crutcher Scott Field. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. in Abilene. • Tuesday will mark the second meeting between Texas Tech and Abilene Christian this season as the Red Raiders previously notched a 5-4 walk-off victory over the Wildcats on April 27 at Security Bank Ballpark in Midland. The Red Raiders won the game in the bottom of the ninth off a Hunter Hargrove RBI single that marked Tech’s first walk-off win of the season. • Texas Tech and Abilene Christian will send the same two pitchers to the mound Tuesday night from their first meeting this season as Erikson Lanning will get the ball for the Red Raiders while ACU will use Nate Cole. • Texas Tech enters its final midweek game riding an 11-game winning streak against the Wildcats as the Red Raiders are 33-16 all-time versus the Wildcats, including a 7-10 mark in road contests. Erikson Lanning will be making his • The Red Raiders are coming off a three-game sweep last weekend at Kansas, improving Texas second start of the season against Tech to 17-4 in Big 12 play with just one conference series remaining against West Virginia. ACU on Tuesday night. The series sweep marked Tech’s fourth already in Big 12 play which matches the single-season school record from the league’s inaugural 1997 campaign. • Texas Tech can clinch at least a share of the Big 12 regular-season title without even playing a game this weekend as an Oklahoma State loss to Oklahoma would give the Red Raiders a three-game lead in the conference standings with just three games remaining. • The Red Raiders have won all four of their Big 12 road series this season as Texas Tech is 10-2 away from home in league play after taking two-of-three games at Baylor (March 18-20) and No. 6 TCU (April 29-May 1) while also sweeping No. 16 Oklahoma State (April 8-10) and Kansas (May 6-8). • Texas Tech needs three more victories to reach the 40-win plateau for the second time already in Tim Tadlock’s four seasons. Tadlock would potentially be the first head coach in program history to lead the Red Raiders to multiple 40-win seasons over his first four seasons. PLAYER TO WATCH - HUNTER HARGROVE Hunter Hargrove connected on a walk-off RBI single to send Texas Tech to a 5-4 victory in its last meeting against Abilene Christian on April 27 in Midland. Hargrove finished 2-for-4 that night against the Wildcats, marking his first multi-hit game of the season. It was also his third-straight game to drive in at least one run. Hargrove enters Tuesday night’s contest at TCU riding a career-best nine-game hitting streak that began April 22 against Texas. He has started each of the past seven games for the Red Raiders at third base.
