• Texas Tech and Arkansas meet for the second time in as many seasons and for the 37th time in series history. • Arkansas leads the 36-game series with a 29-7-0 all-time record dating back to the first meeting on Nov. 23, 1957. • This is the first time Texas Tech has traveled to face an SEC opponent in the regular season since 2003 when the Red Raiders defeated Ole Miss, 49-45, in Oxford. • Texas Tech has found the endzone on its opening drive in each of the first two games of the season. The Red Raiders have scored a touchdown on its opening drive nine times under head coach Kliff Kingsbury. • Texas Tech enters the matchup of former Southwest Conference members averaging 64 points per game, the third-highest average currently in the country. • Texas Tech has combined to score 128 points this season, the second-highest total through the first two games in program history (64.0 points per game ranks third nationally). • Of Texas Tech’s 16 scoring drives this season, 11 have gone for under two minutes, while five have gone for under a minute. • Texas Tech has benefited from the stellar play of Patrick Mahomes II, who is responsible for 60 points already this season, the most in the country. Mahomes also ranks second nationally for total offense per game (428.5), passing yards (786) and passing touchdowns (8). • Mahomes has gone nearly untouched through the first two games as the Red Raider offensive line has failed to allow a sack all season. • Texas Tech has outscored its opponents, 34-0, in the third quarter this year.
