FIRST PITCH • No. 19 Texas Tech, fresh off a split series at No. 5 Florida State, resumes Big 12 Conference play this weekend as the Red Raiders head to Stillwater for a three-game set against No. 16 Oklahoma State. The series begins with a 6 p.m. first pitch Friday night on FOX Sports Southwest Plus. • The Oklahoma State series concludes a five-game week for the Red Raiders against nationally-ranked opponents. Texas Tech began the week with a two-game midweek series at No. 5 Florida State. • The Red Raiders are looking to build off a successful start to Big 12 play as Texas Tech enters the Oklahoma State series with an 8-1 record, marking its best start to the conference schedule in program history. • Texas Tech has swept each of its last two Big 12 series as the Red Raiders took all three games from both Oklahoma and Kansas State, pushing its winning streak in conference play to seven games. It is the longest winning streak for the Red Raiders in Big 12 play since Tech won eightstraight games to close the 2002 regular season. Tyler Neslony enters this weekend’s • Texas Tech will be looking for its first series win over Oklahoma State since 2011 this weekend series as a career .440 hitter against State which includes a and its first against the Cowboys in Stillwater since the 2010 season. The Red Raiders are 28-38 Oklahoma home run and three RBI. all-time against Oklahoma State, including a 12-21 mark in games played in Stillwater. • The Red Raiders are coming off an 8-4 victory Wednesday night at No. 5 Florida State. The victory was Texas Tech’s first over a top-five ranked non-conference opponent since defeating No. 3 Miami in the 2014 NCAA Coral Gables Regional. Tech is now 6-2 against top-five ranked non-conference opponents since the start of the 2014 season. • Texas Tech is 5-5 against ranked opponents this season which includes a 4-2 mark against top-10 teams as the Red Raiders have defeated No. 9 Houston, No. 6 Louisiana, No. 9 California and No. 5 Florida State already this season. • The Red Raiders are ranked as high as No. 19 in both the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and Perfect Game polls this week. Texas Tech also came in at No. 22 and No. 23 in the D1Baseball and Baseball America rankings. In addition, Texas Tech’s victory at No. 5 Florida State on Wednesday helped the Red Raiders move up eight spots to No. 21 in the latest RPI poll.
