LEADING OFF... Following a 12 day break, Texas Tech closes the regular season in College Station, Texas against No. 18 Texas A&M in a two-game series beginning at 6 p.m. Friday evening at the Aggie Softball Complex. GAMEDAY CENTRAL Texas Tech fans unable to make the trip to College Station can keep up with the action through the Gameday Central page at texastech.com. NATIONAL RANKINGS Texas Tech (39-11; 4-10)......................................RV/None Nebraska (34-9; 4-6).............................................No. 19/18 (ESPN.com/USA Softball - NFCA/USA Today) THE SERIES Texas A&M has controlled the all-time series between the two schools as the Aggies have maintained a 23-11 advantage, including a 10-4 mark in College Station. Tech has not defeated the Aggies on the road since taking a 6-2 victory on April 29, 2007 in the series finale of a two-game series. Texas A&M has won the last six games in the series.

ON DECK The Red Raiders will learn their postseason fate Sunday evening as NCAA Regional selections will be announced at 9 p.m. on ESPNU. The regional round runs May 20-22 at various campus sites across the country. LONG BREAK MARKS A FIRST FOR TECH Texas Tech’s 12 day break in between games due to finals matched the school’s longest streak in school history set only a year ago. The one difference, however, is that Tech has always returned from its break at the Big 12 Championship, which will not be played this year for the first time in league history. Tech won its first game back from its break last year, defeating Kansas, 5-3, in Oklahoma City. TECH STILL IN THE TOP 30 OF THE RPI Texas Tech remained in the top 30 of this week’s ratings percentage index (RPI) as the Red Raiders dropped two spots to No. 30 in the rankings. Tech has been in the top 30 each week since the original poll debuted, climbing as high as No. 27 several weeks ago. The Red Raiders have already played 12 teams ranked in the top 50 of the poll, with eight of those being teams in the top 25. Tech went 5-0 against non-conference opponents in the top 50.
