MAHOMES CONTINUES TO FRUSTRATE DEFENSES

GILES BOASTS BACK-TO-BACK 150 YARD GAMES

Patrick Mahomes II enters Saturday’s contest as the nation’s leader in passing yards per game and total offense per game. Mahomes has thrown for 1,770 yards through four games this season, the most for a Red Raider quarterback during that span since Graham Harrell in 2007. Mahomes’ impressive start comes after he played just over a half in two games this season - the season opener at Stephen F. Austin and then against Kansas.

Jonathan Giles has recorded 565 receiving yards this season thanks in part to back-to-back games with at least 150 yards through the air. Giles, who had 186 yards and three touchdowns against Louisiana Tech and 219 yards and two touchdowns versus Kansas, boasts the most yards for a Red Raider through four games since former Biletnikoff Award winner Michael Crabtree had 775 yards to start the 2007 campaign.
