STILL A LONG SEASON TO GO Despite dropping its first season opener since 2002 last weekend, Texas Tech still has a great opportunity ahead to finish with a strong season. Tech bounced back from that season-opening loss to No. 12 Ohio State in 2002 by rolling off eight victories during the regular season before defeating Clemson in the Tangerine Bowl. Tech also won nine games in 1995 following a close loss at No. 4 Penn State. n Texas Tech is 16-10 all-time in the weeks following a season-opening loss. The Red Raiders have rebounded to win their week two game after a season-opening loss in each of the last six occurrences. n
