MAHOMES LEADS THE NATION IN PASSING

RED RAIDERS UNDER THE LIGHTS

Patrick Mahomes II enters Saturday’s contest as the nation’s leader in passing yards and total offense per game. Mahomes has thrown for 2,579 yards through six games this season thanks in part to four games with over 400 yards, including two where he has eclipsed the 500-yard mark. Mahomes’ impressive start comes after he played just over a half in two games this year - the season opener at SFA and then against Kansas.

Texas Tech will look to continue its success in home night games Saturday against the Sooners. The Red Raiders are 38-10 in night games at home since 2002 (.791 winning percentage), which includes a 2-1 mark against top-five ranked opponents. The Red Raiders are a perfect 3-0 in home night games this year after a 69-17 rout of Stephen F. Austin to start the season and then 59-45 and 55-19 wins over Louisiana Tech and Kansas.
