TEXAS TECH AT A GLANCE... u The Texas Tech women’s golf team will look to move past the NCAA Regional round for the third time in program history starting Monday morning when the Lady Raiders host the NCAA Lubbock Regional at The Rawls Course. u
Texas Tech is making its 17th all-time appearance in an NCAA Regional and its seventh over the past eight years. The Lady Raiders will be looking to advance past the regional round for the third time in program history as Tech moved on to the NCAA Championships in both 1996 and 2005.
u
The Rawls Course is hosting an NCAA Regional for the third time in school history. The award-winning course previously hosted a NCAA Women’s Regional in 2005 and then a NCAA Men’s Regional in 2015.
u
The Lady Raiders will be the No. 9 seed in the 18-team field where Tech will need to finish among the top-six schools in order to advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 19-24 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
u
Texas Tech head coach JoJo Robertson will see a familiar face roaming the course alongside her this week as her brother, Greg Robertson, is the head coach for No. 4 seed Kent State. The two siblings previously coached together at Purdue before Robertson was tabbed as Tech’s head coach prior to the 2009-10 season.
u
Despite having no seniors on its roster, Tech boasts postseason experience as Gabby Barker, Lauren Mason and Mami Yamamoto all participated in the 2016 NCAA Stanford Regional while Barker and Mason were key factors in the 2015 team that advanced to the stroke play portion (top eight) of the NCAA Championships.
