RED RAIDERS FACE TOUGH CHALLENGE AT HOME AGAINST NO. 14 MISSOURI Texas Tech will have to move beyond last week’s loss at Texas A&M in a hurry as the Red Raiders face another stiff challenge this weekend at home as the 14th-ranked Missouri Tigers come to Jones AT&T Stadium. Saturday’s game will be televised regionally in primetime on ABC with a 7 p.m. (CT) kickoff. This will be homecoming for the Red Raiders and tickets remain on sale for Saturday’s contest and can be purchased online at www.texastech.com or by calling the athletics ticket office at (806) 742-TECH or 888-GO-BIG12. Texas Tech enters the contest with a 4-4 overall record and a 2-4 mark in Big 12 Conference play while the Tigers come to Lubbock with a 7-1 overall record and lead the Big 12 North Division with a 3-1 mark.

AGGIES DROP TEXAS TECH 45-27 AT KYLE FIELD SOUTH CONF OVERALL STK COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Ryan Tannehill had a school-record Baylor 4-1 7-2 W3 449 yards passing and four touchdowns in his first career start and Cyrus Oklahoma 3-1 7-1 W1 Gray ran for two more scores as Texas A&M beat Texas Tech 45-27 on Oklahoma State 3-1 7-1 W1 Saturday. The Aggies (5-3, 2-2 Big 12) trailed 7-0 early, but Tannehill Texas A&M 2-2 5-3 W2 threw three touchdown passes in the first half to give Texas A&M a 24Texas 2-3 4-4 L2 14 halftime lead. Gray had touchdown runs of 54 and 2 yards in the third Texas Tech 2-4 4-4 L1 quarter to stretch the lead to 38-14. Taylor Potts threw for 227 yards and a touchdown for the Red Raiders (4-4, 2-4). But Texas Tech fumbled CONF OVERALL STK twice near the goal line and Potts was replaced by Steven Sheffield in the NORTH 3-1 7-1 L1 fourth quarter. Sheffield had 129 yards passing and two touchdowns. Missouri 3-1 7-1 W2 Jeff Fuller caught two of Tannehill’s touchdown passes and finished with Nebraska 3-2 5-4 W2 11 receptions for 171 yards to become the second player in Texas A&M Iowa State 2-3 5-3 L2 history to reach 2000 career yards receiving. The Red Raiders opened Kansas State 0-4 3-5 L4 the second half with a drive that included a 54-yard reception by Detron Colorado 0-4 2-6 L4 Lewis. It was halted when Lewis caught an 11-yard pass on the next play Kansas and fumbled the ball, which was recovered in the end zone by the Aggies. It was the second time Texas A&M recovered a fumble in their own end zone. Texas A&M’s offense got going in the second quarter with Tannehill finding Michael Lamothe on a 3-yard touchdown pass for a 10-7 lead. Lamothe added a touchdown on a 1-yard reception that made it 45-20 in the fourth quarter. Fuller’s first touchdown was on a 6-yard reception that pushed A&M’s lead to 17-7. Tech cut the lead to 17-14 when Lyle Leong caught a short pass from Potts and dashed untouched into the end zone about three minutes later. Fuller gave the Aggies a 24-14 lead after a 2-yard touchdown catch with 9 seconds left in the first half. That drive was helped by two personal fouls on Tech for targeting defenseless receivers.
