FIRST PITCH • Texas Tech will play in its second professional ballpark already this season on Tuesday night when the 25th-ranked Red Raiders face UT Arlington at 7 p.m. inside Globe Life Park. • Texas Tech will be playing at Globe Life Park, the home of the Texas Rangers, for the first time since 2004 on Tuesday night. The Red Raiders, who are 1-5 all-time at the ballpark, previously participated in the 2002 and 2004 Big 12 Tournaments that were held at Globe Life Park. • Texas Tech will be meeting UT Arlington for the 27th on the baseball diamond and just the fourth time at a neutral site. This is the first meeting between the two schools since the Red Raiders took two-of-three games in a 2013 series held in Lubbock. • The Red Raiders are 21-5 all-time against UT Arlington as Texas Tech has won 17 of the last 18 contests versus the Mavericks. • Texas Tech is coming off a two-game split against No. 9 California this past weekend. The Red Raiders fell 9-2 in the opener before responding with a 11-8 victory on Saturday. The final two games of the series were cancelled due to inclement weather. TEXAS TECH AT GLOBE LIFE PARK IN ARLINGTON
Texas Tech will be making its first trip to Globe Life Park in Arlington since 2004 on Tuesday night against UT Arlington. This will be the second professional ballpark to host the Red Raiders this season as Tech previously took part in the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston on Feb. 26-28. The Red Raiders, who finished 2-1 in Houston, are 1-5 all-time at the home of the Texas Rangers as Tech previously made appearances during the 2002 and 2004 Big 12 Tournaments.
