DESIRE FOR LIGHTNESS

This trend manifested itself as early as June 2024 at the second edition of the Prix Tectona Design Parade. The winner, Gabriel Hafner, had conceived a table evoking the simplicity of portable furniture with, in particular, a tabletop that unwinds like a beach mat. Many discoveries await you in the pages of the catalogue, one of which is the new collection by Christophe Delcourt that imbues teak with unprecedented — almost ethereal — grace.

THE WORKSHOP SPIRIT

A certain spirit infuses the Workshop in Normandy, the nerve centre of Tectona where projects go from design to finished product. Where our favourite materials — teak, powder-coated aluminium, woven resin — are worked according to an astute blend of artisanal techniques and cutting-edge technologies. Where our furniture undergoes a series of durability tests before launch.

This year, the Workshop spirit inspired a new collection of terracotta pots. Each one has been designed to fit in with a certain style of garden or patio: modern styles feature simple sleek forms, while classic styles have forms and decorative motifs inspired by the Italian tradition. The pots can hold all types of plants, from the smallest to the largest shrubs. As well as being resistant to frost, the pots will over time develop a magnificent patina thanks to the exceptional quality of the raw material and the art with which it is worked. Every pot is a unique piece fabricated in the birthplace of terracotta, Tuscany.

CULTURAL VENUES, THE ART OF THE VISIT

While most of our creations are destined to spend a lifetime outdoors, we are also present in the rooms of Château de Versailles, Musée Picasso-Paris and in the Plateforme 10 cultural hub of Lausanne.

Our teak benches, some of which are half a century old, are not only present in some of the most famous public gardens of Paris, but also historic parks such as Chambord, in Vaux-le-Vicomte… More recently, our furniture was chosen to fit out the garden created by Gilles Clément for Centre Pompidou-Metz. And when in Rome, visitors at two of its famous gardens, at Villa Medici and — since 2024 — Villa Borghese, can also enjoy our furniture.

OUR PLACES OF ENCHANTMENT: THE ART OF DOLCE VITA

From Provence to the Basque coast, the Balearic Islands and Sicily, the edge of Lake Como… We’re delighted to share with you some of the most beautiful locations where our furniture contributes to a sunny way of life, dedicated to wellbeing.

CULTURAL VENUES

THE ART OF THE VISIT BY TECTONA

Since 1977, the year it was founded, Tectona has been present at several cultural venues open to the public. Its furniture, durable and resistant, with elegant and comfortable contours, is in its element in places dedicated to young creation, in museums, and in historic or contemporary parks.

CONTEMPORARY ART INSTITUTIONS & EVENTS

Villa Noailles, Hyères In 1996 Villa Noailles became a centre of art and architecture and in 2017 it was listed as a Site of National Interest. Since 2006 the Villa has organised an international design festival every summer, Design Parade Hyères. In 2022, the Villa’s square was embellished by the addition of the Roma parasol, a veritable icon from our collections. The Villa and Tectona entered into a partnership in 2023 to create a new annual contest, Tectona Design Parade, the second edition of which was held in June 2024.

Rencontres photographiques, Arles

Tectona has supported the Rencontres every year since 2015, by donating furniture for the festival’s relaxation zones, particularly the Cour Fanton and the Cour VIP.

MUSÉES

Centre Pompidou-Metz This world-class museum, created in 2006, houses 120,000 modern art masterpieces. In 2022, the Batten collection (Thinkk Studio) and Tecto bench (Edward Barber, Jay Osgerby) by Tectona were chosen to fit out the new South Garden designed by landscape artist Gilles Clément.

Musée national Picasso — Paris In 2017, Musée Picasso jointly organised a contest with ECAL with the purpose of updating its seating. The winner was the Muse bench designed by Isabelle Baudraz and fabricated by Tectona. The oak bench is solid, easy to move around and modular, qualities that make it perfectly

adapted to the needs of a site receiving thousands of visitors every year.

Château de Versailles Since 2020, Grande Écurie-Versailles benches can be found along visitor routes at the Château de Versailles. Within the context of its partnership with the Chateau, Tectona designed, developed and fabricated the bench. The style was inspired by furniture of Maison Jacob-Desmalter, which was the main supplier to palaces in the mid-18th century.

Plateforme 10, Lausanne In 2022, Tectona participated in the inauguration of Plateforme 10, the gigantic cultural hub in Lausanne. The bench designed by Pierre Charpin was the winner of an international contest for new seating to welcome the public, and was subsequently fabricated by Tectona.

PARKS & HISTORIC GARDENS

Carrousel du Louvre, musée Rodin, Vaux-leVicomte, domaine de Chambord… For decades, visitors to these sites, which showcase the best of French gardens, have enjoyed one of our most iconic benches: Glenwood.

Villa Médicis, Rome Visitors to the villa can enjoy two of our other iconic pieces, the Circle Bench and Copacabana deckchairs, under the shade of the Villa’s umbrella pines.

Galerie Borghèse, Rome Our benches from the 1800 collection naturally blend into their stunning surroundings: the luxurious gardens of the Galleria.

DESIGN GENERATIONS

Since 1977, a creative spirit, a valorisation of both traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology and a rigorous selection of materials have been the cornerstones of our involvement in the world of design.

2024. Prix Tectona was launched in 2023 during the Festival Design Parade held annually at Villa Noailles in Hyères. The brief for the second edition, held in summer 2024, was to design a table for a summer meal with the sole constraint that it be constructed from rot-proof material. Gabriel Hafner, a young design graduate of ECAL, was chosen as the winner from among ten entries.

Gabriel Hafner’s piece is refined and innovative: it combines a traditional wooden structure as base, on which sits a tabletop that also doubles as a mat. The tabletop is a wood/textile braid painstakingly developed to achieve a surface both rigid and flexible such that the mat can be deployed via a simple action. For many, the mat will evoke beach mats and fond memories of summers on the beach.

FRUITFUL ENCOUNTERS

In the early 1990s, Tectona entered the contemporary design arena by launching the bench designed by Andrée Putman for CAPC (Contemporary Art Museum of Bordeaux). In 2001, young designer Christophe Delcourt was asked to give a fresh spin to the catalogue by imagining furniture meeting modern expectations about outdoor life. In 2003, the first exchanges between Tectona and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec would give rise to the Pebble collection in woven resin. Five years later, designer Pierre Charpin’s first collaboration with Tectona culminated in the umpire’s chair featuring a structure combining powder-coated aluminium and teak. In 2009, Tectona further enriched its repertoire with Delta, its first outdoor shower, designed by Inga Sempé.

MILLENNIALS SHINE WITH CREATIVITY

In the 2010s, Tectona forged a close relationship with ECAL (Lausanne University of Art and Design), one of the best design schools in the world. This collaboration would bear fruit in the form of new Tectona furniture designed by young ECAL-trained designers including Julie Richoz (Cicala, 2017) and BIG-GAME (Clubhouse, 2017).

In 2017, on the occasion of its 40th birthday, Tectona held an international competition for young creators to design a “table and chair” ensemble in teak. The winning entry, Batten by Thinkk Studio, has since entered the Tectona catalogue. One year later, again in collaboration with ECAL, Tectona launched the Muse bench by Isabelle Baudraz which has since been welcoming the general public at Musée National Picasso-Paris. The commitment to young creative talent continues today, as demonstrated recently by the new collaboration with the Villa Noailles Design Parade.

FUNDAMENTAL DIALOGUE TECTONA & PIERRE CHARPIN

In 2007, Pierre Charpin designed the Tennis line for Tectona. The groundbreaking pieces, an umpire’s chair and a players’ bench, combined aluminium and teak. Ten years later, he was elected Creator of the Year at the Maison & Objets trade fair. Since then, several international exhibitions have showcased his work as a designer but also as an artist. In 2023, in collaboration with Tectona, he designed an oak bench named Plateforme 10 after the eponymous museum hub in Lausanne for which it was destined. The result of his latest collaboration with Tectona, in 2024, are three bath towels fabricated according to the traditional Lyon-style artisanal technique.

SELECT MATERIALS

With its founding in 1977, Tectona revisited traditional outdoor teak furniture. Our commitment to durability and aesthetics dates from this period. Over the decades, our creations opened up to aluminium, woven resin and other woods.

FSC CERTIFICATE

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certificate on Tectona furniture is proof that the wood originated at legal forestry operations implementing sustainable and responsible management, guaranteeing respect for biodiversity and for the ecosystems within the operations.

TEAK: ICONIC

One of the properties of teak fibres is that they have a particularly tight grain, making them ideal for cabinetmaking. Another is that they produce an oil that prevents rotting and protects the wood from water and insects, while also imparting a subtle silvery patina over time. The presence of the “Teck Impérial” stamp indicates that the teak is from the oldest trees possessing grains of exceptional density.

ALUMINIUM: SUBTLE COLOURS

The advantages of aluminium include its extreme malleability, enabling flowing lines in furniture designs, and its lightness, enabling pieces to be moved around with ease. It was also aluminium that introduced colour to the Tectona repertoire, specifically via the powder-coating procedure, which additionally renders the metal more corrosion-resistant and shock-proof.

WOVEN RESIN: LIGHT AND PRACTICAL

Woven resin, woven by hand and 100% recyclable, lends itself to designs that meet contemporary uses: furniture that is light, easy to move around or put in storage, easy to clean, particularly well suited to patios and swimming pool areas.

KEY STAGES

Fabrication of furniture is guided by two key stages: technical drawing and prototyping. Each of these stages demands extreme attention to detail by our specialist teams each bringing expertise in different areas such as cabinetmaking, aluminium carpentry and forming of woven resin. Once the various section views have been created, prototyping can begin. This stage consists of a series of operations to test sturdiness and comfort. The use of traditional know-how but also cutting-edge technologies, notably computer numerical control tools, means that, among other things, the various parts making up an item of furniture can be assembled with the ideal level of precision to guarantee durability.

The Tectona Workshop located in the heart of the Pays de Caux in Normandy is where the synergy between our creations and our know-how happens. At every step, from the creative process to final production, it is at the Workshop where we research, experiment and apply the best techniques for ensuring the durability of our furniture. The Workshop is also a linchpin of the loyalty we have inspired in our customers, whether by maintaining their furniture or delivering their furniture rapidly. Tectona Workshop:

OUR PLACES OF ENCHANTMENT

Our furniture is naturally drawn to prestigious destinations. Their “contemporary classic” design makes them blend in naturally with the varied styles of our places of enchantment. And in view of their comfort and resistance, they were almost predestined to become firm favourites for fitting out terraces and other outdoor areas.

FRANCE, LUBÉRON, MANE, COUVENT DES MINIMES HOTEL & SPA

This jewel of medieval architecture is nestled in the Provence landscape, where characteristic restanque walls surround Mediterranean gardens releasing the scents of the garrigue. Tectona creations are present in the poolside area of the spa: the teak sun loungers from the Camarat and Southampton collections are perfect for soaking up the sunshine; the obligatory deckchair in the form of the Copacabana; and the modular Exeter sofas inviting you to slow down a while. The zone is interspersed with square and rectangular Duxford coffee tables. Roma parasols offer welcome respite from the blazing Provence sunshine.

COLLECTIONS

1800

The Elegance of the Directory Style

The 1800 collection is inspired by neo-classic French furniture that was in vogue during the period of the Directory (1795-1799). Rigorous contours are tempered by the curvature of the backrest and the nub motif at the intersections of the various aluminium elements. The blue-grey colour, created by Tectona specifically for this collection, imparts a soft and soothing gleam.

The essential bistrot table!

A timeless classic! The base assembly consists of four stainless steel elements which converge and are fixed together at their midpoint. The round tabletop comes in aluminium or marble.

Bench

In 2006, Tectona launched its first product in powder-coated aluminium: a reimagining of the wrought-iron Directory Style original. The finesse and the equilibrium of the structure confer an ethereal grace to this bench, which went on to inspire the 1800 collection. The bench, available in blue-grey or black, is delivered with a seat cushion in white Sunbrella.

Circle Bench

The Circle Bench is a further demonstration of the neoclassic elegance that characterises the 1800 collection. It is inspired by the original now-iconic Circle Bench in teak, reinterpreted here in aluminium decorated with the nub motif of the 1800 collection. The delicate openwork design blends in with refined settings while the soothing curves draw you in to intimate conversations in clandestine locations or the simple pleasure of a panoramic view in more open settings.

Service à la française

Conjure up a veritable outdoor dining room with the range of 1800 tables: the bistrot and square tables are suited to smaller spaces while the square and rectangular tables can seat 4 to 8 guests, or more by placing them side by side. The practical console holds bottles and tableware during the course of a meal. The curvature of the backrest in the chairs and armchairs, the detailed execution and the lightness of the design are a nod to the classic elegance of the Directory. Add a touch of modernity with powder-coated aluminium and the result is one of Tectona’s emblematic collections.

Bridge Armchair, a Beautiful Touch

This armchair adopts the essential characteristics of bridge armchairs, which first appeared in the 1930s: it is light and easy to move, and it has a low slightly inclined backrest that extends imperceptibly into the armrests. As the name suggests, bridge armchairs were intended for card games notably bridge, but they can also be used as a spare armchair or for small spaces. Back cushions included.

The elegance of marble

Marble, a noble material, combines perfectly with the design of the 1800 collection. One of its advantages, particularly for restaurants and outdoor areas open to the public, is that it can be cleaned easily and quickly.

Bamboo

Japanese-inspired

This collection is inspired by the distinct design of bamboo “thatches” using hollow knotstudded poles. The International Exposition of 1867, held in Paris, hosted a Japanese section for the first time. The nature-inspired motifs on display there were adopted and interpreted by Western designers, especially in the decorative arts. Hence, bamboo would become a regular feature of the Art Nouveau style in cabinetmaking but also glassmaking and ceramics.

The Bamboo lounge, haven of relaxation

The Bamboo lounge epitomises absolute comfort, whether by the ideal height and the generosity of its seats, wide and deep, or by the curves of the backrest and armrests. The ensemble finds its element in plant-covered patios or gardens, imbuing its surroundings with the poetry of its Japanese-inspired design for years to come.

COFFEE TABLE

Pleasures of the table

The armchair is the incarnation of comfort, featuring generously wide seating, an ideal reclining angle of the backrest and curved arms. The minimalist design concords with the collection’s Japanese theme. As for the table, the crosslegs ensure utmost stability and allow greater freedom of movement for human legs. The final elegant touch is provided by the tabletop in grey-veined marble, which also has the added advantage of ease of cleaning: just wipe over with a sponge!

SQUARE

Horizon

Rational elegance

This sun lounger was designed to offer multiple configurations meeting the needs of varied places of relaxation, including hotel terraces. The low weight and the castor wheels make it easy to move around; moreover several loungers can be stacked. For optimal comfort, the position of the backrest can be adjusted via a practical and discreet mechanism. Each material plays a key role: aluminium is light; teak is beautiful; the softness of the black Batyline fabric provides comfort. However they all have in common their suitability for outdoor life.

A taste for the minimalist

AC/AL is a design studio founded in 2013 by Amandine Chhor and Aïssa Logerot. Both are driven by a passion for materials, industrial manufacturing processes and traditional craftsmanship, which they translate into products whose sleek lines underpin their use and their technical function.

The joy of simplicity

While you’re lying down on a Horizon sun lounger, it takes minimal effort to reach out to take or put down a glass, a magazine or a book on one of the two side tables specially created for the collection.

Cicala

The pleasure of dining

Curved and straight lines of the armchair embrace each other in a dance, gently and softly. The finish polished stainless steel lends a subtle touch of elegance to the teak, which has been worked into slats for the seat and arched for the backrest of the armchair of the Cicala collection. The round table has a tabletop in granite resting on three stable and graceful legs.

Serena

Weightlessness of teak

This new collection by Christophe Delcourt attests to the designer’s creative freedom, which owes itself to his perfect knowledge of wood, teak in particular. Here the wood seems emancipated from its standard sturdy image, with the lines and the slanted widely set legs generating an aerodynamic, almost weightless, look. The gaps in the backrests and in the armrests contribute to the aerial grace of this piece, making it suitable for indoor use, a garden or a patio.

Clubhouse

At the origin of the Clubhouse collection, Tectona asked BIG-GAME to create a piece of furniture with dimensions and modularity that would allow it to be installed in small spaces such as balconies and in large restaurant spaces. Initially made in teak, the collection has now been extended to include an aluminium version. The Clubhouse collection’s sublimely clean design is perfect for this aluminium version, which enhances the simplicity of its lines.

Simple Yet Audacious

Clubhouse is ready for everyday use thanks to its ease of use, for the practical detail allowing to stack chairs and armchairs, and the limited span of the table base, which limits the amount of space required.

Soleil

“An haute couture creation that called on the talents of experienced and knowledgeable people and was designed to be durable. This project allowed me to feel invigorated once again by the trade I learnt in cabinetmaking workshops when I was a young man. The etymology of menuiserie is ‘small jobs’ or ‘pieces made from delicate wood’; these painstakingly fabricated pieces blend into our environments to delight our senses and our bodies while on holiday. Soleil!”, Martin Szekely, August 2022

Larch Wood, When Durability Matters

As part of its commitment to durability and good practices, Tectona decided to expand its repertoire to larch, a conifer native to temperate regions of the Northern hemisphere, not at risk of extinction and offering characteristics comparable to those of teak. Its wood is particularly resistant, rot-proof and extremely dense. Traditionally it has been used in mountainous areas for building chalets and for furniture.

Soleil, an Iconic Collection

Soleil, the first collection in larch wood, is the outcome of the collaboration between Tectona and Martin Szekely, an internationally renowned creator of objects and furniture and also a practicing cabinetmaker. Here, old-world woodworking techniques are combined with computer numerical control, enabling absolute precision in the assembly of furniture parts.

Goa

Handsome Craftwork

The extremely minimal design of Goa is a masterpiece of equilibrium that highlights the woodworking talent within Tectona. The lines, simple and obvious, intersect without jarring visually while also concealing the astute mechanism providing two reclining backrest positions. The sand colour of the seat and backrest cushions in combination with the natural teak colour sublimate the natural beauty of this now-emblematic collection.

Batten

An Emblematic Collection

For this design duo, battens are the ultimate symbol of outdoor furniture. The Batten collection, in teak, exudes an ethereal quality, thanks to the spacing between the battens and also the tapering of the legs of the seats and the table. Elegant in its simplicity, comfortable and joyful, Batten illustrates the traditional woodworking skills practised by Tectona, including use of mortise-and-tenon joints.

For this lounge, the Thai duo THINKK STUDIO made use of teak slats, assembled in the traditional manner with mortise and tenon joints. The ensemble, consisting of a two-seater sofa and a fireside chair, offers lightness and comfort in combination with a rigorous design. This collection is sold with ecru cushions. Exeter

Bridge Armchair

This armchair brings together Tectona’s know-how in cabinetmaking with the design purity implemented by Christophe Delcourt. The armrests naturally extend the front legs of the armchair, then gently follow the curvature of the backrest. The seat itself follows the same curve for, once again, maximum comfort. The openwork arrangement of the slats lessens the heavy appearance, giving a contemporary spin on the traditional shape.

Exeter Side Table, a Must-Have!

This small table is the perfect accompaniment to the Bridge armchair created by Christophe Delcourt. It is made from solid teak yet is light and easy to move around. Like the armchair, it features openwork slats.

Room for Everyone

The Exeter lounge is designed to be arranged just as you like and to grow with your needs. The depth of the seat along with backrest and footrest cushions invite you to relax.

Exeter, Ovoid Coffee Table

While the wide tabletop slats and the tapered legs speak the same design language as the rest of the collection, the novel feature here is the ovoid (egg-like) shape of the tabletop that introduces dynamism.

Quiet Strength

Thick-cut teak sections create powerful, elegant structuring lines that are softened by the arresting simplicity of the wide slats and the slanting of the legs. The backrest of the bench and armchair is slightly curved for added comfort — cushions not required! Simple and obvious, Exeter perfectly symbolises the Tectona style: the perfect equilibrium between «classic» and «contemporary».

The Chair that Everyone Dreams Of!

It is practical: it can be folded and is easy to move thanks to the handle cut-out in the backrest. It is comfortable: the seat is angled and the backrest is high. Its strength lies in its simplicity. Exeter integrates harmoniously with any of the Tectona outdoor lounges in teak. As an interesting technical aside: the chair does not contain any metal components (not even where the two axes meet).

Reserve T

The beauty of imperial teak

Reserve T is a new series that we created from an exceptional and exclusive batch of teak. Exceptional through the use of wood derived from a highly limited selection of century-old trees having very large circumferences. Exclusive through the limited number of pieces, 100, that will come out of our workshops. The key elements are the tabletop composed of uniquely long slats and the legs in solid wood cut from a single block. The combination of simple, expertly crafted contours and understated refinement is sure to win over connoisseurs of beautiful furniture.

British Chic

This model has been a faithful companion to Tectona since the very start, in 1977, when the brand was renewing the repertoire of outdoor furniture drawing inspiration from across the Channel. Exbury has since then become one of Tectona’s great classics. The highly imposing teak sections, cut from single blocks, are assembled according to woodworking rules, without metallic items, which confers a solid and elegant presence and at the same time guarantees exceptional longevity.

Grande Écurie-Versailles

Contemporary Use

Since 2020, Grande Écurie-Versailles benches are interspersed along visitor routes at the Château de Versailles. The bench was developed and fabricated by Tectona and its style draws inspiration from furniture of Maison Jacob-Desmalter, the main supplier to palaces in the mid-18th century. This piece was the outcome of the partnership between Château de Versailles and Tectona.

Muse

Simple and Ingenious

Following a competition jointly organised by ECAL and Musée National Picasso-Paris in 2017, the Muse bench imagined by designer Isabelle Baudraz was selected for the renewal of the museum’s seating and subsequently developed at the Tectona Workshop.

Circle Bench

An Absolute Icon

Although circular benches were in vogue in large French gardens in the 18th century, located in groves or in outdoor rooms (cabinets de verdure), they remain intimately associated with scenes from the English landscape. Placed around centuries-old trees, they invite passers-by to sit down a while to meditate, to rest or perhaps just to take in the view.

Unrivalled Know-How

Circle Bench is a good illustration of the high woodworking standards practised by Tectona since its creation in 1977. The crossbeams and the seat slats are not simply arched but carved from the block; this technique guarantees the bench’s stability and durability over time. The simplicity of its design, the unrivalled craftsmanship and its longevity have together elevated the Circle Bench to the status of absolute icon.

Tecto

Airy Structure

Tecto is a good illustration of Tectona’s devotion to the craft of woodworking. Assembly is by dowelled mortise-and-tenon joints as traditionally used in roof frames, while the detail of the wooden plugs inserted in the direction of the grain to conceal screws provides an unhindered view of the bench structure. The arrangement of the horizontal teak slats, a subtle interplay between solid and empty lines, is captivating. As for function, the bench is an invitation to relax: the high backrest and the gently inclined seat maximise comfort.

London

Simple but Undeniably Sophisticated

The London bench is the fruit of the labours of highly skilled craftspeople. Visually speaking, the simple structure of the seat emphasises the sophisticated geometric design of the backrest: the interplay of vertical and horizontal lines enclosing three circles, reminiscent of a ship’s portholes, naturally draw in the viewer’s attention to reveal unexpected perspectives. It is inspired by garden benches popular in England since the 19th century.

Lancaster

From London to New Delhi

The unique silhouette and simplified forms of the Lancaster bench were designed by the architect Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944), who drew inspiration from Neo-Classical English furniture, itself influenced by India, and from Arts and Crafts furniture. The traditional elegance of English furniture is given an exotic touch by the curved back evoking the pediments on the facades of certain Hindu temples.

Marly

Life in the Château

Featured in the treatise on furniture making, L’Art du menuisier, by the cabinetmaker AndréJacob Roubo (1739-1791), the Marly bench is an homage to French classicism. The perfect equilibrium between the width of the seat, the height and the depth of the bench, but also the refinement of the backrest verticals in the form of balusters, means the bench blends smoothly into the landscape.

Tennis

Various Uses

In 2006, during the gestation of Tennis, Pierre Charpin told us: "the design of the umpire’s chair and the players’ bench provides simple formal and constructive responses." Their frame structure, in tubes of powder-coated aluminium, occupies space in an airy, elegant and contemporary manner. Consistent with the designer’s passion for colours, green highlights the forms of the furniture in harmony with its natural surroundings.

UMPIRE'S CHAIR

Glenwood

Ideal for You Plants

This classic planter is made from teak, a non-rotting wood that guarantees its longevity. It is available in two sizes: the small one is perfect for rose bushes, box tree balls and small shrubs; the large one is better suited for plants requiring more space such as citrus fruits, topiaries and columnar fruit trees.

Dovecote

The Essential Birdhouse

Birds in your garden will be drawn to the dovecoat. It is high enough for them to feel protected, while the zinc roof provides rain protection. On the lower level, the size of the opening allows them to bring in the twigs they need to build their nest. They can fly off from the upper level, through a smaller opening.

Aladin

An Essential Accessory

This teak chest is the ideal storage solution and it blends in harmoniously with all our teak furniture. Practical features abound: a lock; a mechanism to hold the lid open thereby preventing bodily injury; and silicone joints, protecting cushions from morning dew and rain showers.

Camarat

Follow the Sun

Sun worshippers, rejoice! The Camarat sun lounger, available in two sizes, is easy to move so you can easily keep up with the sun’s movement! It is manoeuvred like a wheelbarrow, thanks to the rubber-rimmed wheels fitted to the rear legs and the projecting portion of the long edges that serve as handles. Five reclining positions are available. For additional comfort, it can be fitted with pivoting retractable armrests that tip back without blocking your movement when you sit up, or with a removable tray that can be placed along the long edges.

Normandie

Take a Long Trip

Once comfortably installed in your generously proportioned steamer chair, close your eyes to be transported to the deck of a Folding steamerlantic liner connecting Le Havre with New York at the start of the 20th century! This teak steamer chair does not require any particular care. Its curved contours closely follow those of the human body in order to maximise comfort; a mattress is optionally available for additional comfort. After lifting the armrests slightly, lean backwards to set the position of the backrest to suit the occasion, whether that be conversing with your neighbour, reading or simply daydreaming. When summer is over, the steamer chair folds easily and requires only minimal storage space. FOLDING

Adirondack

An American Legend

American cinema is fond of this armchair — in the collective imagination, it represents infinite possibilities. On a porch facing the Great Plains or mountains on the horizon, the Adirondackchair is both welcoming and imposing, a fragment of the American Dream. At Tectona, we evaluated its comfort and improved it by creating additional pieces: a footrest that transforms the armchair into a lounger and a small folding table should you require more space than that provided by the wide armrests.

FOLDING COFFEE TABLE

Copacabana

Here Comes the Sun

Joyful and colourful, simple and practical, the Copacabana line combines the solidity of teak with the softness of fabric. No aspects of the deckchair have been overlooked to ensure your comfort: the long armrests, the generously wide seat, the inclination of the backrest… Copacabana is light and folds easily, so is easy to move around. Just perfect for those days where the most arduous decision you have to make is where to sunbathe.

Joyfully Indispensable

At first glance, the Copacabana folding deckchair could easily pass for the traditional deckchair that inhabits so many summer holiday memories. However, several tweaks have been made for added comfort and ease of use: the armrests have been designed to allow the arms to rest naturally; the backrest has three reclining positions, guaranteeing stability. The Batyline ® fabric, specially treated for weather-resistance, simply refuses to age.

Siesta

Ash, Combining Lightness and Robustness

Siesta is Tectona’s first collection in ash, a dense and extremely strong wood that in rural France and more widely in Western Europe has traditionally been used to make tool handles and farm furniture. It has a light colour that, on request, can be painted or varnished.

The Art of Being Idle

With its slender design, the Siesta deckchair inspires feelings of freedom. It is light, easy to fold and unfold, hence can be placed anywhere at anytime as your whims desire. It has three reclining positions offering total comfort whether you’re reading, having a relaxed conversation with friends or taking a nap. The Batyline canvas is resistant to rain and sunshine. Available in Duo Ecru Batyline, Eden Taupe Batyline or Botanical Green Batyline.

Feel as Free as the Breeze

The Siesta hammock is absolutely essential for the outdoor lifestyle, the ideal way of protecting yourself from blazing sunshine in a shaded oasis. It is simple to set up: just tie the ropes around two trees or two other sturdy supports 4-6 m away from each other. Then sink in and let your worries slip away as the wind gently sways you! Ash wood provides structural solidity and holds the Batyline fabric. In winter, it is recommended to store the hammock in an enclosed location so that the fabric doesn’t become covered in vegetation.

Southampton

Elegance in Comfort

Teak is used throughout the Southampton collection, exclusively in tables and in combination with other materials in seating pieces and the footrest. Elegant simplicity characterises all pieces in this collection; contours are designed with maximum comfort in mind: gently reclining backrests; the crosslegs of the folding tables; the soft and durable Batyline fabric used in seating pieces and the footrest.

Pure élégance

The Southampton sun lounger combines, with beautiful results, teak and Batyline fabric. Practicality is present: rear legs are fitted with nearly-hidden castors so the loungers are easy to move around; furthermore, several loungers can be stacked for convenient storage. The slanting legs confer visual lightness in addition to ensuring perfect stability. Comfort is assured by the reclinable backrest (four positions) and use of Batyline fabric, which adapts to the natural contours of the human form.

Absolute Relaxation

Everything in the design of this armchair and its footrest, both designed by Christophe Delcourt, evokes wellbeing. The reclining backrest, the simplicity of the structure and the softness of the Batyline fabric invite you to truly relax. Other advantages of these pieces are their lightness, which makes them easy to use, and their comfort, which obviates the need for cushions. Next to them, the small nesting tables adapt to your current mood: a glass, a book, a catalogue, a laptop…

Taupe Batyline

Perfect, for Large Get-Togethers

The Southampton table is ideal for bringing relatives and friends together around one table. In the standard configuration, two leaves lie under the tabletop, one at each end of the table. To extend the table, you just have to slide them out, then add the required number of Folding armchairs (from the same collection — naturellement!). For ease of storage, the legs can be unscrewed from the table then placed snugly under the tablet.

Subtle Discretion

The Shanghai collection, blending rigour and flexibility, blends into its environment naturally. The sun lounger has four reclining positions including completely horizontal; it can be moved around easily thanks to the rear caster wheels. As for the stackable chair, its soft curved lines invite us to sit down and get comfortable.

Colonial

The Sensuality of Curves

Colonial highlights the contrast between fluid forms and the rigour of teak furniture. It was decided to replicate the famous Lloyd Loom design and at the same time adapt it to woven resin, a new technological and recyclable material that replaced the woven strips of kraft paper used in the original version. Visually, the woven resin evokes traditional cane work in rattan or wicker; functionally, it provides complete resistance to the elements.

The lines and the colours reflect the formal language of the designer, with whom Tectona has collaborated since 2007. As with all our collections, artisanal fabrication techniques were prioritised. Here the lines are printed using the flat-frame or Lyon technique. The dyes contain pigments traditionally used in furniture to provide optimal resistance to sunshine and water, whether chlorinated water or seawater. The collection is made in France and is available in three colours (orange, sky blue and night blue). Extreme comfort and softness of the terry towels are due to the high GSM (680 g/m2).

Botanical inspiration

After graduating from ECAL in 2007, Maria Jeglinska opened her design and research studio in Warsaw in 2012. Since then she has participated in several international design events. One recent example: she designed the set for the exhibition Marie-Laure de Noailles, peintres Conversation at Villa Noailles in Hyères in 2024. For her first collaboration with Tectona, Maria Jeglinska conceived two trays in lacquered wood with the appearance of framed paintings. The abstract motifs, lines and circles, are inspired by the stems and buds of hollyhocks.

Biblos

For Bibliophiles

Biblos is a rotating and mobile indoor bookcase made from satin-varnished teak. The obelisk form invites you to take a trip to Ancient Egypt, to pay homage to the famous library of Alexandria. It was designed by a book lover: it holds books of any size along its entire height, from your favourite pocketsized novels to your favourite oversized artbooks, all of which are easily viewed and rapidly pulled out.

TECTONA PARASOLS

BETWEEN LIGHT AND SHADE

Inspired by the traditional parasols used by market gardeners, whose purpose was to protect stalls from the sun as much as to keep them cool. In 1986, Tectona created the Roma parasol which over time became, and continues to be, a bestseller. It was followed by many other parasols over the years. All parasols have always been manufactured at the same workshop in Rome where traditional parasol-making techniques have been passed down since four generations.

UNWAVERING STANDARDS

Roma and all other Tectona parasols that came after have been developed to meet the needs of users: they are extremely resistant; can be moved with minimal effort; can be opened and closed easily; and have a design that is both classic and contemporary allowing them to blend in gracefully in their environment.

UNRIVALLED KNOW-HOW

Tectona parasols are available in several sizes. The canvases are handsewn and stretched over ribs (wood or aluminium), which insert into a runner on a mast made of wood (Roma) or aluminium (Sunbird, Florida). A ventilation system at the top of the mast provides wind resistance. Two models, in wood (Colibri) or aluminium (Flamingo), use a cantilever system that shades large areas and moreover pivots 360° so you can move the canopy in step with the sun’s movement. Both models can be opened and closed rapidly and easily, either by turning a crank or moving a sliding handle. Finally our parasol range also includes a tent (Butterfly) installed on two masts, either in wood or aluminium, and featuring a canopy that is resistant to sunshine and also rain.

PARASOL CARE

→ remove dust then wash by spraying water

→ once dry, place your parasol into storage over winter by rolling it inside a storage sack (available separately) or an old sheet

TO CHANGE THE CANOPY

Two options:

→ Tectona comes to you to take your parasol, then changes the canvas in the Normandy Workshop and delivers the new parasol to you

→ Tectona sends you the parasol canvas and you replace it

Roma

Iconic!

Over time, the Roma parasol has become a Tectona icon. Here, traditional manual techniques meet the perfection demanded by the brand: handsewn canopies in waterproofed ecru cotton canvas or coloured canvas. The Douglas pine wood, used in the ribs and the mast, is crafted as it has been for four generations by the Italian workshop that fabricates the parasols for Tectona.

Sublimate the Use

The unique silhouette of Roma is easily discernible from the others! Whichever of the 12 sizes and colours you choose, the sturdy cast-steel base and the vent atop the canopy are constants. The parasol is firmly attached to the ground by the hardness of the wood and also the wooden struts, which have been handcrafted and perfectly inserted into the mast — there is zero risk of your parasol taking to the air.

Sunbird Contemporary Elegance

The forms of the Sunbird collection are inspired by those of the now-famous Roma collection; the difference, which lends a resolutely contemporary look, is the structure in anodised aluminium and the Teflon-treated acrylic canvas. The reinforced eyelets and the lining of the canvas confer great wind resistance. The canvas itself is easy to remove, whether to be cleaned or changed. Three models are available, the smallest of which, measuring 2 × 2 m, is particularly well suited to urban patios of modest dimensions.

SQUARE

Florida

High Wind Warning!

When parasol makers employ cutting-edge technologies usually used by the nautical industry, the result is Florida! The eponymous US state is known for its gusty winds in the winter. The parasol’s wind resistance is provided by the aluminium structure, the Textilene canvas but also the ideal proportions.

Colibri

For Large Gatherings

Shade for a table seating 8 to10 guests is provided by the large acrylic canopy, 4 meters in diameter yet incredibly light due to use of aluminium ribs. A crank-operated system requires only minimal effort to open and close the parasol. Furthermore, the mast, in varnished wood, can be pivoted 360° around its axis for protection from the sun’s rays throughout the course of the day. Storage sack included.

Flamingo

Sunshine with Occasional Showers

The Flamingo parasol is completely impervious to the weather thanks to its aluminium structure and polyester canopy. A handle integrated into the mast makes opening and closing the parasol easy. The mast is also mounted on a pivot allowing 360° rotation: all-day sun protection is simple to implement. Finally, an anodized satin finish softens the brilliance of the aluminium so the parasol blends naturally with its surroundings. Storage sack included.

TECTONA SHOWERS

MAXIMUM REFRESHMENT

Our showers and posts, designed and fabricated in our workshop in Normandy, are available in teak, stainless steel or galvanised steel and fulfill the same needs as our furniture: they are beautiful, solid, durable and able to withstand the elements. In addition, they are resistant to corrosion in marine environments. The models in aluminium also receive a powdercoat treatment that reinforces their solidity and also makes maintenance easier.

DURING WINTER

→ Turn off water supplies

→ Disconnect all water inlets

→ Ensure taps are in open position

→ (for showerheads and foot showers)

Unscrew the flexible hose so that water does not accumulate and store them frost-free

→ Ideally, we recommend storing your shower in a frost-free place during the winter. If you decide to leave it outside, we recommend protecting the taps and mixer taps with a blanket

→ Place a protective cover (available separately) over the shower

MINIMAL MAINTENANCE

→ For teak showers, clean once a year using soapy water and a gentle brush

→ For stainless steel or powder-coated aluminium showers, use a stainless-steel cleaner

Eclipse Solaire

Eclipse Solaire combines the virtues of solar energy with teak’s nobility and resistance in a pure design. The sturdy structure is made from large rectangular-shaped sections, highlighting the natural beauty of teak. For maximum efficiency, the shower should face south. The rear of the shower is fitted with a blackmat powder-coated stainless steel tank that absorbs heat from the sun's rays. Capacity for 42 litres of mixed water.

Tropic

When the sun is blazing-hot, close your eyes and open the tap on the Tropic shower to be transported to a tropical rainforest. The wide column is cut from a single block of teak, evoking the trunk of the tree. Fine continuous rainfall can be simulated through the generous dimensions of the showerhead.

Niagara

In the Niagara shower, teak is sculpted into a round duckboard and a smooth-cornered column cut from a single block, highlighting the sensual side of outdoor living. The joy of outdoor showering is enhanced by sensual imagery. In practical terms, the shower is light hence easy to move and it connects to an ordinary garden hose. The water pipe and the showerhead, both made from stainless steel, are resistant to the sunshine, rain, cold!

Squadra

The Squadra shower features a thermostatic mixer so you can set the water temperature; the position of the showerhead is adjustable. The rectangular section of the column betrays a modernist slant, as does the square showerhead (available in two dimensions). Brushed stainless steel tempers the brilliance of the metal. The piece incorporates a foot shower using cold water. For added comfort, a teak duckboard is available as an option.

TERRACOTTA POTS

FROM TUSCANY: THE ART OF TERRACOTTA

ANCESTRAL KNOWLEDGE

For keen gardeners, we offer a wide range of terracotta pots for shrubs and perennials. All of them are fabricated in Tuscany where, since the Middle Ages, elite potters have exercised the highly prized art of terracotta.

EARTH AND FIRE

As far back as antiquity, terracotta was being used in architecture, with the production of tiles or quadro (literally “squares”). The widely used terracotta containers were called rondo (“rounds”), and they included the immense jars used to store olive oil or Chianti wine produced in the region. The success of terracotta is due to its high resistance especially to temperature variations, its strength, its “breathing” by which humidity is filtered between the outside and the inside and – last but not least – its beauty. These are the qualities that drew Tectona to the

workshops of Tuscany for the fabrication of its collections of terracotta pots.

OUR PLANTING ADVICE

All our terracotta pots come with a leaflet offering advice on maximising the lifetime of the pot and the best way to grow your plants in them.

The key to success is, in one word, drainage!

→ Place items underneath the pot to elevate it, thereby allowing excess water to drain away ;

→ Place balls of clay or pieces of brick at the base of the pot to improve drainage and allow air to circulate ;

→ Line the base and the walls of the pot with geotextile film to protect the pot and the roots from frost.

Finally, all you need now is compost, garden soil and water for your plant to grow in the best conditions! Some of our models come in various sizes to cater for different plant sizes.

FURNITURE CARE

TEAK

Beautiful natural protection

Over time, the surface of teak develops an attractive silver-grey patina as a result of the protective oil naturally secreted by the wood. This oil renders teak fully rot-proof and explains how it came to be used so extensively outdoors, for example in ship decks and of course outdoor furniture.

Care advice

Care is minimal: once a year, clean your teak furniture with soapy water to remove impurities.

To prevent a patina from forming If you want to maintain the original colour of your furniture, apply Wood Sealant* to slow down the formation of the patina. This product is also effective on tabletops.

* WOOD SEALANT 1L

This product, for use with teak, reinforces its colour and prevents the formation of a patina. It renders the surface of the wood waterproof, providing weatherresistance for approximately 2 years.

LARCH

A rot-proof wood suited to the outdoors. Larch wood is resistant including to humidity. It does not require any treatment and so may be left as is.

Care advice

To maintain the original appearance: spray a water-based UV protector, once or twice a year; or use a degreasing agent to restore the larch wood’s natural colour.

To make the patina disappear

Apply Net Trol** cleaning product, which easily removes the patina and restores the furniture to its original colour.

To eliminate stains

Non-greasy stains can be eliminated with water. Greasy stains require a textile cleaning product.

Tips

→ Extremely dense, teak does not split; however a few cracks may appear on the surface

→ Teak oil, linseed oil and varnish are not recommended. They do not extend the lifetime of your furniture

ASH

** NET TROL ® 1L

This product removes the patina, thereby restoring the wood’s original colour.

A dense robust wood suitable for outdoor use.

Care advice

→ Protect the wood with a surface finish (paint or varnish)

→ During winter, store the furniture in a sheltered location

PARASOL

Our parasol fabrics are resistant and water-repellent. Sunbird and Colibri models, and the Butterfly tent have an acrylic canvas, they must be dusted and washed uniformly. Roma parasols, an ecru cotton canvas or a coloured acrylic canvas.

Care advice

Our parasol fabrics are water-reppelent. They must be dusted and washed uniformily. Detergents, which remove waterproofing, are to be avoided.

Put your parasol into storage for winter

To store your parasol roll it up and store in a dry place inside its storage sack or an old sheet; never under any circumstances store it in plastic..

To change the canopy Roma Tectona provides two options if you want to change the canvas of your Roma parasol. This service only applies to Roma parasols by Tectona.

1. Tectona takes your parasol, changes the canvas and redelivers to your home

2. Tectona sends the parasol canvas and you replace it thanks to the instructions

SHOWER

Care instructions

It is easy to care for outdoor showers. The primary danger to avoid is that of freezing water leading to burst pipes. For this reason, outdoor showers must be winterized: turn off water supplies to the shower; disconnect all of the shower’s water inlets; and leave all the shower’s taps in the open position.

For showers with a showerhead, we recommend unscrewing the flexible hose from the showerhead so that water does not remain in the curved part of the flexible hose.

For our showers and posts, we recommend storing your shower in a frost-free place during the winter. If you decide to leave it outside, we recommend protecting the taps and mixer taps with a blanket.

For showers in type 316L stainless steel or in powder-coated steel, use a standard stainless steel cleaner.

WOVEN RESIN

Woven resin is a unalterable synthetic fibre, polyethylene based, handwoven around an ultraligh aluminium frame, making furniture easy to move. It keeps its colour and is fully recyclable.

Care instructions

You can clean your woven resin furniture with soapy water and a brush. Damages to your furniture in the form of cigarette burns or cuts necessitate rewelding (using a soldering iron) or replacement.

Tips

→ Furniture longevity depends on light intensity and temperature variations

→ It is highly inadvisable to use abrasive materials (metallic brush) that may scratch your furniture. Solvents and bleach are also harmful to the resine

→ If you want to protect your furniture during winter, use our protective covers

TERRACOTTA POTS

All our terracotta pots come with a leaflet offering advice on maximising the lifetime of the pot and the best way to grow your plants in them.

The key to success is, in one word, drainage!

Planting advice

→ Place items underneath the pot to elevate it, thereby allowing excess water to drain away;

→ Place balls of clay or pieces of brick at the base of the pot to improve drainage and allow air to circulate;

→ Line the base and the walls of the pot with geotextile film to protect the pot and the roots from frost.

Finally, all you need now is compost, garden soil and water for your plant to grow in the best conditions!

POWDER-COAT ALUMINIUM

Powder-coated aluminium, cast or in tubes, combines lightness with robustness.

Care instructions

Clean with soapy water.

To repaint your furniture

For chips, use the supplied touch-up kit or oilbased paint.

Tips

→ Powder-coated aluminium does not rust and can be used at sea-side

→ It is extremely resistant to abrasione (p.193)

General Terms and Conditions of Sale

Article 1 — Preamble

The present General Terms and Conditions of Sale (hereinafter GTCS”) govern the relationship between, on the one hand, Tectona SA, a public limited company registered with the Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés de Paris under number 353 798 523 with registered office address 36 rue du Bac, 75007 Paris, France (hereinafter “Tectona” or “we”) and, on the other hand, any natural or legal person (hereinafter the “Customer”) who has placed an order on the website www.tectona.net (hereinafter “Website”), by email or telephone after consulting the catalogue or in person at a physical point of sale of Tectona products. Tectona and the Customer will be referred to jointly as the “Parties”.

The present GTCS are applicable to all Consumers, Non-Professionals and Professionals as these terms are defined in the introductory section of the Consumer Code. However only Consumer Customers and Non-Professional Customers can invoke the provisions in the Consumer Code intended for their benefit and that are reproduced in the present GTCS.

The present GTCS and the quote constitute the entirety of the sales contract between Tectona and the Customer and as such prevail over any other contractual documents having the same purpose.

Article 2 — Orders

2.1 Orders placed at physical points of sale

After a Consumer or Non-Professional Customer places an order at a physical point of sale of Tectona products, he will receive a quote (or order summary), to which are attached the GTCS, before order confirmation. The order is considered confirmed when the Customer expressly accepts the quote (or order); this acceptance also implies acceptance without reservations of the present GTCS that were attached. A dated and signed copy of the quote (or of the order summary) is passed on to the Customer on a durable medium for safekeeping.

2.2 Orders placed remotely (excluding the Website)

Other than the Website, orders can be placed remotely in any of the following ways:

- By telephone: +33 (0)1 47 03 05 05 ; - By email to: info@tectona.fr ; - By post to: Tectona — Service Clients, 36 rue du Bac — 75007 Paris, France.

After a Consumer or Non-Professional Customer places an order remotely using one of these ways, he will receive a quote (or order summary) on a durable medium to which are attached the GTCS before order confirmation. The order is considered confirmed when Tectona receives the Customer’s express acceptance of the quote (or order summary); this acceptance also implies acceptance without reservations of the present GTCS that were attached.

2.3 Orders placed remotely on the Website

For orders placed on-line via the Website, the GTCS are communicated to the Customer when the order is placed and are presumed to have been entirely accepted when the Customer confirms the order.

To place an order on the Website, the Customer selects the products he wishes to buy then adds them to the shopping cart by clicking on “Add to cart”. The Customer can view and edit the contents of his order at any time by clicking on the basket icon. Before finalising his order, the Customer can check its detailed contents, its total price and the total amount of any charges applicable (such as a delivery charge). The Customer can correct any errors, cancel his order or finalise it by first clicking on “My cart”.

To confirm his order, the Customer must provide his contact details and the invoice and delivery addresses, and check the box “I have read and accept the terms and conditions and the privacy policy”.

Customers who already have a registered account must identify themselves by entering their email address and password. Confirmation of the order implies full acceptance of the GTCS without reservations.

The Customer can then proceed to payment of his order by either credit card or bank transfer in the “Payment” section.

The order is recorded and the contract comes into being at the moment the Customer pays the entire balance of his order.

Article 3 — Products

3.1 Product Descriptions

The essential characteristics of products, notably specifications, illustrations, dimensions and fabrics/materials used, are contained in the product sheets viewable on the Website, in the catalogue or at physical points of sale.

Photographs and graphics of products are not contractual and therefore do not engage the liability of Tectona.

The Customer should refer to the description of each product to find out its characteristics, key particularities and the estimated delivery time.

Tectona reserves the right to modify the products shown on its Website and in flyers and catalogues. In case of modifications, the Customer will be informed about the modifications before he confirms his order or, if he has already ordered the product, when he receives the purchase order. He can then either cancel the order or proceed with the order for the modified product.

3.2 Special Products

After ordering a Special Product, that is a product made to the Customer’s specifications (for example, using a custom finish or custom dimensions), the Customer receives a quote drawn up by Tectona’s Technical Production Workshop. Any product or product variant (e.g. particular dimensions or material) that is not included in the “Specifications” booklet should be considered a Special Product. A delivery time is provided for each Special Product on a case-by-case basis. For orders of Special Products, the Customer is asked to pay 50% of the total amount of the order in advance as confirmation.

Returns or refunds are not permitted for Special Products or any other product or product variant not included in the “Specifications” booklet.

3.3

Non-Available Products

In the unlikely event that a product ordered is out of stock or has been discontinued, Tectona will immediately inform the Customer after receiving his order. The order will be cancelled automatically and, if payment had already been made, the Customer will be refunded the amount within fourteen (14) days.

Article 4 — Prices

Tectona prices are given in euros and unless otherwise indicated include taxes and exclude delivery and assembly charges. The customer shall be responsible for paying levies, taxes, duties or other services of any nature arising from the agreed-upon sale, by application of the legislation and regulations applicable in France or in the buyer’s country, or in the country/countries of transit.

For orders to countries other than mainland France, the Customer is the importer of the product(s).

For products to be delivered outside the European Union or outside French Overseas Departments and Territories, the price is automatically calculated without VAT. Customs duties or other local taxes or import duties or State taxes are likely to be imposed. These are the sole responsibility of the Customer, who must bear their cost. It is the Customer’s responsibility to find out about conditions of importation and to declare his purchase to the authorities of his country.

Prices in the Tectona catalogue are guaranteed from 1 January to 31 December of the corresponding year.

Article 5 — Payment

5.1 Payment Methods

The Customer can pay his order by bank transfer or payment card.

Cards issued by banks based outside of France must be international bank cards (Mastercard or Visa). If the Customer places an order on the Website and selects to pay by bank card, he must provide the bank card data.

By communicating his payment information during the order process, the Customer expressly authorises Tectona to debit the full amount of the order from his bank account when the order is confirmed. In accordance with the provisions of the Monetary and Financial Code, the engagement to pay given by card is irrevocable.

5.2 Payment Conditions

The total amount of the products and any other costs (such as a delivery charge) becomes due immediately after the order is confirmed by the Customer.

Invoices are issued in the name of the Customer.

The address on Tectona invoices is always that of the registered office (a different address may appear on the purchase order).

5.3 Non-Payment and Retention of Title

For the purposes of this article, “payment” occurs when funds due are deposited to Tectona’s account, on the agreed-upon date.

The products remain the property of Tectona until full payment of the invoice has been received.

In case of late payment or non-payment (for example, if the bank refuses to honour the transaction or if the Customer requests cancellation of the transaction), Tectona reserves the right to suspend all of the Customer’s orders and to dissolve the sale without notice or compensation and to demand that the Customer return the product(s) at his cost.

In addition, by virtue of article L. 441-10 of the Commercial Code, the existence of sums remaining unpaid by a Professional Customer on the due date shall, by operation of law, make the Customer liable, without prior notice, to pay late payment interest at the interest rate applied by the European Central Bank at its most recent refinancing operation plus 10 percentage points and in all cases at a rate not lower than three times the legal interest rate, to Tectona (the principal, interests and costs), and to pay a fixed sum of forty (40) euros as a collection fee.

A late payment by a Consumer Customer will make him liable to pay late payment interest to Tectona at the legal rate in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Code.

Article 6 — Delivery

6.1.2 For (i) Non-Professional Customers outside mainland France and (ii) all Professional Customers

A quote will be provided by Tectona for all deliveries outside mainland France or to Professional Customers.

6.2 Delivery Times and Modalities

Products are placed on sale by Tectona for the following territories: France, Member-States of the European Union and all other States that fully authorise the entry of products offered by Tectona on their territory.

The deliveries are made to the address provided by the Customer. The Customer undertakes to be present at the time and place agreed upon for the delivery.

The Customer shall be liable to pay supplementary charges for reshipment and delivery in the following cases:

- non-delivery due to the Customer not being present at the agreed-upon time and place for the delivery and not providing a legitimate reason for his absence ; - a non-valid delivery address was provided by the Customer and this led to the package being returned due to non-receipt at the provided address ; - it was impossible for the transport company to deliver the products owing to a reason attributable to the Customer.

For deliveries to France, typical delivery times are as follows:

- For Standard Delivery: ten (10) working days for mainland France and twenty (20) working days for Corsica from the day the order has been paid and received in full ;

- For Comfort Delivery: between fifteen (15) and twenty (20) working days from the day the order has been paid and received in full.

For deliveries to locations outside mainland France, the delivery time varies according to the delivery address. In all cases, the Customer will be informed of the delivery time before order confirmation.

Delivery data are stored for ninety (90) days.

Delivery times are not guaranteed.

Consumer and Non-Professional Customers cannot invoke late delivery as a reason for refusing goods unless the delay is longer than thirty (30) days from the day the order was paid and received in full.

6.3 Transfer of Liability

If the Customer is a Professional, the Customer assumes all the risk during transport of the goods, notwithstanding the stipulation concerning retention of title in the GTCS.

If the Customer is a Consumer or a Non-Professional, liability is transferred on the day the goods are delivered.

Article 7 — Reservation about Delivered Products

When the Customer receives the delivery, he should check that the delivered goods are as ordered and also the condition of the goods and their packaging.

If the Customer observes any anomalies or non-conformities, of any type, it is essential that he report them to the transport person before either accepting the delivered goods or refusing them. The Customer must write down his reservations, which should precisely describe the observed damage, on the delivery note, a copy of which will be handed to the Customer.

Subsequently the Customer must confirm his reservations within forty-eight (48) hours from receipt of the goods by sending a recorded letter with acknowledgement of receipt to Tectona SA, 36 rue du Bac, 75007 Paris, France, providing the proof of the observed anomalies.

If the goods have an obvious anomaly or defect, Tectona may decide at its own discretion to repair, replace or refund the goods in question. The Customer shall not under any circumstances be entitled to any compensation from Tectona.

Any claims that fail to meet the conditions laid down in this article or that are formulated after the time period has expired will not be accepted. Delivered products will then be deemed to have been consistent with the order and free of any apparent defects.

Article 8 — Guarantees

8.1 Guarantees applicable to all customers

Products sold by Tectona are guaranteed against any apparent or latent defects in relation to materials used, conception or fabrication affecting the delivered products and rendering them unfit for use. This guarantee is provided for in articles 1641 and following in the Civil Code.

The Customer can exercise this guarantee within a period of two (2) years after discovering the defect.

The guarantee is not applicable in the following cases: incorrect use, negligence or poor maintenance by the Customer, use other than intended use, accident or force majeure.

The Customer can exercise the guarantee by sending his claim to Tectona SA:

- By email: info@tectona.fr ; - By post: Tectona SA, 36 rue du Bac - 75007 Paris ; - By telephone: +33 (0)1 47 03 05 05.

Products must be returned in their original condition and complete (packaging, accessories, user instructions, etc.) to: Entrepôt TECTONA, ZA de Colmont, 76560 Doudeville, France. The Customer shall assume all risks and costs of returning the products. Returned products damaged by the Customer will not be refunded.

Under the guarantee, the Customer is entitled to a reduction in the price if the product is in good condition or to a partial or total refund when the product is returned, taking into consideration how the Customer used it.

In all cases, the Customer accepts and recognises expressly that Tectona’s liability cannot be invoked if the delivery delay and/ or partial or total non-fulfilment of the order is due to one of the following reasons (non-exhaustive list):

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

- a fault, negligence or omission fully attributable to the Customer or to a third party that Tectona has no control or supervision over;

- an unpredictable or insurmountable action of a third party;

Guarantees applicable to Consumer and Non-Professional Customers

Consumer and Non-Professional Customers enjoy the legal guarantee of conformity provided for in the Consumer Code and in the event of a conformity defect have two (2) years from the date of delivery of the product to invoke the legal guarantee of conformity. During this period, the Customer is only required to demonstrate the existence of the conformity defect, not the date it appeared.

Under the legal guarantee of conformity, the Customer is entitled to have the product repaired or replaced within a period of thirty (30) days following his claim without incurring any costs or experiencing major inconvenience.

If a product is repaired under the provisions of the legal guarantee of conformity, the Customer shall benefit from a six (6) month extension to the initial guarantee.

If Tectona replaces a product after a Customer asked for it to be repaired, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for a period of two (2) years from the date of replacement.

In the following cases, the Customer can either choose to keep the product and obtain a reduction in the price paid for it or return the product for a full refund thereby terminating the contract:

- Tectona refuses to repair or replace the product;

- The repair or replacement occurs after the thirty (30) day period;

- The repair or replacement entails a major inconvenience for the Customer, notably when the Customer bears the cost of the removal and transport of the non-conforming product or if he bears the costs of installing the repaired product or its replacement;

- The non-conformity of the product persists after Tectona’s attempt to bring it into conformity.

The Customer is also entitled to a reduction in the price or termination of the contract when the conformity defect is serious enough to justify an immediate price reduction or termination of the contract. In this case, the product will not be repaired.

The Customer is not entitled to cancellation of the sale if the conformity defect is minor.

During the period of time in which the Customer is unable to use the product while waiting for it to be repaired or for its replacement, the guarantee is temporarily put on hold and resumes when the Customer is delivered the repaired product or its replacement.

The abovementioned rights stem from application of articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the Consumer Code.

As a reminder, a seller acting in bad faith to obstruct implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity is liable to a civil fine which may be up to 10% of the average annual turnover but without exceeding a maximum of €300,000 (article L. 241-5 of the Consumer Code).

Article 11 — Cancellation of Orders — Right of Withdrawal

11.1 Cancellation of orders at Tectona points of sale

Customers, whether Consumers, Non-Professionals or Professionals, who place an order at a physical point of sale of Tectona products have no right of withdrawal. It follows that products that were ordered at a physical point of sale of Tectona products cannot be sent to Tectona without Tectona’s prior consent and return instructions.

11.2 Cancellation of remote orders by Professional Customers

In the case of a remote purchase by a Professional Customer (on the Website, by email or by telephone), the Customer has the right to withdraw his order provided that the ordered product is outside the scope of his main activity and that his business has no more than five employees.

The right of withdrawal can be exercised with the same modalities as the right of withdrawal enjoyed by Consumer and Non-Professional Customers, as given in article 11.3 below. Please note that the right of withdrawal is not available for Special Products, that is products customised to the Customer’s specifications.

The transfer of liability from the Customer to Tectona is considered to have occurred when the product arrives at Tectona’s warehouse. Products returned in a damaged state will not be refunded.

11.3 Right of withdrawal for Consumer and Non-Professional Customers

In the case of a remote purchase by a Consumer or a Non-Pro-

fessional Customer, the Customer has a period of fourteen (14) calendar days from the day he or a third party other than the transport company designated by him receives the product to exercise his right of withdrawal.

Please note that the right of withdrawal is not available for Special Products, that is products customised to the Customer’s specifications.

If the order involves several products and these products are delivered separately, the time period starts from the day the Customer physically takes possession of the last product delivered. If the time period expires on a Saturday, a Sunday or a public holiday, it is extended to the first working day that follows.

To exercise his right of withdrawal, the Customer must notify Tectona of his decision to withdraw in writing on a durable medium using wording that unambiguously expresses his desire to withdraw or by filling in and returning the blank letter appended to article R.221-1of the Consumer Code. A translation of this letter is provided below.

The notification of withdrawal can be sent: - by email to: info@tectona.fr ; - or by post to: Tectona — Service Clients, 36 rue du Bac — 75007 Paris, France.
