tips for a successful school year Coral Pongsuwan Motivation Station… Hop-On Board! The months of August September always have a chaotic, nervous, yet exciting feeling! That’s because it’s Back To School, ughhh… another year already?!? Sometimes, we associate August and September with these feelings because they are the months in which we have to quickly and quickly schedule our everyday activities! Are you feeling stress about how to navigate daily while also focusing on your mental health? Keep on reading to find some ways to strengthen your motivation!Plan Out Each Week- Visually seeing how busy you’ll be during the week allows you to plan accordingly on what needs to be completed first! Apps such as Notes, Reminders, Google Calendar are useful… as well as weekly notepads or written out agendas! Seek Out Positive AffirmationsThough you know you’re a Boss Babe… it doesn’t hurt to be reminded now and then! Finding some positive Instagram accounts, apps, or even creating your quotes creates the self-love that you DEFINITELY DESERVE!!Breaks Are Crucial- Coming from personal experience, you cannot work the ENTIRE day… breaks are vital for your physical and mental health! Watch Tik Tok, read a book, find a new movie, eat a yummy lunch… all of the above!! Though these may seem very small and unimportant, they will go a long way, especially because some of us will have to be semi-quarantined for another couple of months! Like most things, motivation does not grow overnight, but if you work towards your goals, while also believing in yourself, all the loose ends will meet… and in your favor!

The Balancing Act Balancing your Business and School By Frida Lopez A huge question I have asked myself the past few months was, "How am I going to run my business and focus on school?". Honestly, the thought of school itself wasn't even in my head, but my business was. Running a business is a lot of work. You are your manager, marketing specialists, content creator, but most of all, YOU ARE YOUR BOSS. So you have to start making boss babe moves. An essential part of running your business is time. Therefore, you will have to start waking up early every morning and hour or two before school starts to pack some sales or answer any customer questions/DMs. Once you get that out of the way, focus solely on school, not get distracted on TikTok or Instagram! Dedicate that time to school only. That way, you don't have to go back later, taking away from your business time. After school, I recommend taking a quick break, maybe watch some Netflix or take a quick nap for 30 minutes to refresh.

Continued... Balancing your Business and School By Frida Lopez If you have homework, I recommend doing it after your break, so you're not so fogged up after being in class for four-plus hours. Now that you are done and have gotten school out of the way dedicated to your business. Prioritize what you want to accomplish each day to be more efficient than doing a little bit of everything. I have been using this schedule now that I started school, and I find it very practical and not overwhelming. I am currently a senior in High School, so it is even more critical to keep track of time and follow my schedule strictly, so I am not behind on any due dates for both business and school. This school year will be very different, so don't be too hard on yourselves and have fun while being a boss babe!

18 Lets Talk. Constant Content With Akunna O. Hello everyone! Welcome to the TBB Magazine! It is your girl Akunna, and I will be touching base on how to maintain putting out content in the school year. I know many of you are business owners or have brands, and you want to be as consistent as you are now in the summer during the school year when you are always busy which is so understandable, so that’s why I hope some of my tips help you conquer this next school year.
The first thing that you will NEED with all caps is a calendar or planner, it can be electronic, manual, or both, I use both, and it keeps me sane. You will want to have a calendar or planner because you need to see a visual outline of the content that you will be releasing so that you can know how you can plan and properly execute your plan. I use my google calendar for all my podcasts or blog content, and helps me plan and find time to correctly write and plan my content because you always want to put out great content. After the google calendar, I use my bullet journal for personal things, so anything academic, appointments, etc. It does help, and I recommend that.
My next tip is to plan your content for the next few months. I do this and usually expect the next two months in advance to don’t need to scramble around trying to create an idea for that week. I learned this tip from YouTubers, and it helps with other content ideas, you are trying to plan. This type of planning can help you plan big projects, which generally takes a lot of time.
Another tip is set a day or weekend where you can make loads of content so that you would be ready for a couple of months, and the only thing you will have to do is promote your work and interact with your audience. This tip is handy when you have finals or midterms and are focused on your schoolwork and don’t have a lot of time for your business or brand.
My last tip might be obvious to some people, but that is to take time to chill, I had to include this because you might be overwhelmed and honestly burnt out in the middle of the school year. We don’t want that to prevent such burnouts in the middle of the school year is to have a pamper day or do things you love outside of school and your business/brand. It will rejuvenate you, and you will new energy to tackle anything from your brand/business to your schoolwork.

WRITTEN BY AMERICA GARCIA Tips to avoid SENIORITIS
- Always and I mean always remind yourself that just because you’re almost done… doesn’t mean that you’re done and ultimately your last year still matters, you want to graduate!
- Live in the moment!!! Once senior year is over, you’re going to look back and wish you could re-live some of those moments, college can be so much, andyou’ll miss the simpler times. Use the year to the best of your ability.
- Grow more and more excited for college. Keep working hard, keeping in mind that ultimately your hard work will get you where you want to be.
- Try not to compare yourself to others, everyone is in a different head space even if you are all applying/getting into colleges, everyone is thinking differently. Do YOU and don’t let anyone or anything come between that.
- BE PROUD OF YOURSELF, you’ve made it this far and you need to celebrate that.

For the College Boss Babe What You NEED Vs. What You Don't Back to school necessities for the college gal - A fan!!!: if you don’t have AC this will be your BFF, make sure this is within your schools’ guidelines.
- A shower caddy: it will make getting your stuff to the showers and back to your room so much easier… make sure to get some shower shoes as well. - Back up charger: things happen and it’s better to be prepared than not prepared. - A sponge, dish soap, and bowls/spoons: you might think you’ll spend the majority of the time eating at dining halls but sometimes you’ll want something else… make sure you have the equipment necessary.
- Due to these times… HAND SANITIZER, MASKS, ETC; personalize these if you want! Make them fun, spice things up so you don’t forget.
- A storage bin of some sort: you’ll thank me later … you’ll want the space
- Jewelry/Makeup holder: you’ll definitely need it in order to keep yourself organized and have a set up in which your stuff isn’t all over the place
- Headphones: It’s nice to have these in any case you need some silence while studying, or just walking to class
- A water bottle: stay hydrated kids!
- A nice bookbag: I know it’s tempting to go for cute vs. comfort but you want comfort over cute, you will most likely be carrying A LOT.
- Cute stationary/an agenda: it’ll make you feel more motivated to get that college work done!
- Décor/things that make you feel good: make sure you have the items necessary in order to create a comfortable environment for yourself so that you feel safe, at peace, and at home.
Goodluck this year my college gals, stay positive, stay 6ft apart, wear your masks, sanitize, and make the best out this year!

Standing Out For All The Right Reasons Written By Lauren Sarah Hey there! You want to know how to stand out in school, that’s great! Here are some helpful tips to make a positive impression at school! First off, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Lauren, and I am an incoming junior and a creative team member at Teen Boss Babes. You could call me pretty outgoing. I love meeting new people and learning new things, so I thought writing about it would be exciting. These tips are based on personal experience and what I’ve observed these past two years in high school. I hope that they are helpful, and you leave with a new perspective. Friendliness: I found that one of the keys to standing out, not only in school but also in day to day activities, is friendly. Being friendly sets the foundation for trust because people will recognize that you are approachable and easy to talk to. People with friendly personalities often shine light wherever they go and are easily remembered.
Extracurriculars/Participation: Participating, whether it be in extracurricular activities and school events, is an easy way to make your mark. The best memories are made at pep rallies, sports games, and club meetings from what I have experienced. Additionally, there are various clubs to join on school campuses. Finding the one that suits you best, and being an active participant will positively impact your academics and your well-being.
Finding Your Passion: Another great way to stand out in school and help yourself, in the long run, is identifying your passion. This may take a while, but it will help you stand out. For example, my love is content creating, and I have a youtube channel, Lauren Sarah. I am one of the very few at my school with a channel, and I think it is incredible to receive the support that I do from my classmates and even some teachers. While you don’t need a youtube channel to stand out, finding your passion, whether it be sports, academics, etc., will allow standing out to come naturally.

TBB INTERNATIONAL HEADING BACK TO SCHOOL The UK TBB Team Member Sara As we all know, American and English schools are entirely different from the outfits to the grading system. This will help show a brief overview of what school is like in England or, more specifically, my experience.
The first thing is uniform, the dreaded uniform. Most schools have uniforms, whether you are in public, grammar, or private school. Most uniforms consist of a: blazer, buttoned-up collared shirt, tie, trousers or skirt, and flat black shoes. The whole idea of a uniform is so every pupil is equal and that people don’t bully others for having less money etc.
The next thing is tests, this may come across weird, but I was shocked with how little tests Americans had and that they take multiple-choice questions. I will never understand how such an easy test could be hard. In England, at year six, we have SATS, which is maths, English and science tests that help show you which secondary school you could go to. Along with SATS is the 11+. This is optional, but many students take it if they want to go to a grammar school. In year 11, you take GCSEs with Maths, English, Science, and the other options; for example, I selected business studies, media, and history. After GCSE’s, you take A-Levels, which are in year 13.
The last thing is the year groups. Primary through to secondary every grade is called a year. In England, we don’t have any names such as freshman and seniors and is a bizarre concept. However, collectively in secondary school, everyone disliked the new year 7. It’s like an unspoken rule which I have just said.
These are the primary outlines of British schools from my public school view. I hope this helps understand British schools a little more even though they are just a different breed.

In France, classes begin in September or October, and we often finish classes in May. During the year we have 4 breaks between 1 and 2 weeks at a time. It depends on your school, some students have 1 month of winter break.
Lunchtime is important to us. It should be enjoyed and not rushed. Most of the time students have 1 hour for lunch. Either you decide to eat in the cafeteria or bring your lunch. If you don't want what's being offered in the dining hall, going to the nearest bakery, local restaurant, or the supermarket as a last resort. Usually, students buy something outside the school.

For the Middle School Boss Babe Written By Lucia Perez
Hey! Incoming middle schoolers, I know many of you are scared to start school .... but here are five tips to make middle school slightly easier. THE MOST important is to keep in mind that your friend group WILL CHANGE. I KNOW a lot of people will tell you this, but it is true. I did not believe people at first, but as I got through middle school and got to high school MY friends did change 2. Have fun and don't stress too much about homework and classes because high school is the year to highlight and put your all into it. 3. Don't get hung up on people's opinions and stay true to yourself. THIS is important because if you try to change yourself and try to be someone you are not, then it will be tough to keep up with. 4. Try hard to set a routine. Knowing yourself is important, especially when it comes to knowing what works for you. Know what and how to study is very important. 5. DO NOT let people pressure you into doing anything. I know that when you get to middle school, you will try hard to be cool and go with the flow. This is not the way to know your self-worth and do not allow others to pressure you to do anything.

Boss Babes Tips for Freshman Year
Have confidence in yourself
As a freshman, you may enter high school scared and worried about the upcoming year, and because everything is so new to you, you're wondering how you will make it through the year. But as long as you have confidence in yourself and know that you'll make it through a great year and lift your head up with a positive mindset, you will accomplish it all and make awesome memories with those around you. I know that we may all be worried about what people think of us or what so-and-so is saying, but at the end of the day, you have to care about yourself and those that indeed are there for you and put in that confidence in yourself to lead yourself to the right path. You have to know your worth and know that you can do whatever you put your mind to accomplish and always believe in yourself.
Friends come and go. As you enter freshman year, you will be most likely going into a new school and seeing lots of new faces. You will see those you've known before in your previous school and stay close to them but always try to make new friends. It's important to build connections with new people that you don't know and be friendly to those around you to create new friendships. You may want to talk to your friends from the previous year, but you must remember that everyone is going through many changes, and your friends may not be your friends anymore. And you have to decide on who you want to stick friendships with because sometimes your friends you knew from a year ago or a completely different person and sometimes it's better to move on and create new friendships with better people.
Stay on top of your schoolwork! In freshman year, you will begin to have several classes and have to stay on track with all your work. Make sure you stay organized and keep a planner to write everything down that you need to get done for that day, week, and month so that you are on top of your work. Sometimes you may think you have all month to do it, but it's important to start little by little depending on the assignment you have to complete for one of your classes. The tasks will pile up, so it's your job not to forget each assignment for each class. Sometimes you may want to go out and have fun or go out with some friends, but remember that homework comes first, and
Quick Guide for Freshman by Melanie Huerta
Get involved with clubs and or sports. This freshman year, you will have many fun activities and sports that you will be able to join. It's important to get involved and build connections with other people your age. You may feel afraid to join that club or that team, but remember everyone else starting will be as nervous as you, but it will be fun to make new friends and try out new experiences. Just join that club or that sport that interests you and have a good time being involved in whatever club or sport you decide to choose. The point of clubs and sports is for you to take advantage of those in your experiences and friendships that you can make while doing something fun and not just worries about homework or in general school and having fun too for you are young. It's essential to give yourself a break. And as always focus on your assignments while taking a break to join the club or sports to have fun in the time you're free from school work. Overall enjoy your freshman year and have the most fun that you can for your only a freshman once, and as the years come by, you will have more responsibilities to accomplish. Don't worry too much, make the most of it, have fun with your friends, and stay on top of your schoolwork. Remember, friends come and go, and the friends you have now will not always be your friends later, and it's important to grow out from those old friendships and move onto new, better friendships for yourself. Make sure to stay involved with any activities that the schools offer and go to those fun school events or dances for that for you to enjoy with your friends and make lots of memories. And of course, give yourself. A break if you ever feel overwhelmed from schoolwork or any other activities for your mental and physical health comes first. It's essential to know when you need a break to re-boost yourself into a better version of yourself to accomplish that schoolwork and have fun with those extra activities. Don't forget to have fun and enjoy the year, for it won't last forever and take lots of pictures or videos while you're at it. It's always fun to look back at your younger self and see the memories you did at a young age when you were a freshman. Have fun and don't be too hard on yourself; everyone is going through something and enjoy it.
freshman year is a very important year.

FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY STUDENT Written By Jillian Lenae MUSKAN MANZOOR Photos Courtsey Of Muskan Manzoor
LANDING HER DREAM SCHOOL BACK TO SCHOOL ADVICE FOR CREATIVITY AND SUCCESS Dare to chase your dreams as a boss babe! Teen Boss Babe Muskan Manzoor, talks about her journey, gives advice to younger boss babes for their future and setting goals. For Muskan, her passion for the fashion industry as been present her whole life, but grew significantly following a trip to New York and starting high school. Her spark of creativity is strong and is ever-growing. A trip to the Met fashion exhibition confirmed her passion, "oh my god, this is like a candy shop," from that moment she knew she wanted to play a role in the world of fashion. In an interview with TBB Magazine Editor, Jillian Lenae, Muskan shared her creative boss babe journey and advice on college admissions. A significant interest that Muskan shared in her interview, is styling, "You can do so much with styling… you kind of get the best of both worlds," that being the best of both worlds between business and design. She continued staying, "you also get to work with other creatives and sort of put out your vision." Which ties to what she shared to be her favorite part of the creative process. She shared her view on collaboration, which is her favorite part of the creative process, "collaborating with other people because, with styling..." TBB MAGAZINE

"...I can collaborate with so many other photographers, makeup artists, designers, so it is getting to know other creatives. And collaborating to bring sort of our vision together, and knowing their thought process. Sometimes in other industries, it can be very one-track minded. Like everyone is doing the same thing. But with creatives, in my field, there are so many ideas and so many possibilities there is never one specific thing that we have to do." Also speaking on creativity, "as a creative, we just have to take ideas and run with them, and that's what I do." Muskan is a rising freshman Fashion Business Major at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology, otherwise known as FIT. We asked her to share what she used to determine her top choices in schools. When deciding upon FIT, Muskan selected this school during her senior year. Factors that led to this decision included; programs, cost, and location. When asked about the admissions process, Muskan referred to the admissions process as convenient, in its format and layout, which is beneficial to the applicant. Convince that it was unlike many other college application processes (Common Application) where an abundance of questions are required. Muskan stressed the importance of the essay portion, stating that "all I had to do was an essay, but that was kind of stressful in a sense. That it would determine if you got in or not, it's like, putting much weight on one thing." Her essay focused on the business program to which she was seeking admissions, which is why the essay portion was so vital to her admissions. A portfolio for the Fashion Business Program is not required but is necessary for admission for other majors Continued On Next Page.

In preparation for the admissions process, Muskan shared what she thought best prepared her, "definitely the Nordstrom Ambassadors program, was a number one thing because you're connected to such a such a big name company in a sense." The Nordstrom Fashion Ambassador Program is a program open to Junior and Seniors in high school; applications are available online through Nordstrom (available at select Nordstrom locations). This program allows teens to learn different aspects of both the business and Fashion Industry through hands-on experiences. As well as this program Muskan shared other experiences she accredited to her success, "I had other experiences outside of that, every summer I kept busy, I did the summer abroad in Prague, I did an entrepreneurship institute program at the University of Houston, I did an internship for a local boutique for their PR (public relations) where I did photography." This wide array of experiences allowed Muskan to learn, grow, and develop the skills and acquire the experiences that have prepared her for success. These experiences also showcased her leadership abilities which she also noted to be of great importance, "also my blog, I know that that helped, FIT looks at your leadership and what you're doing to keep busy, you can't just say that you're into fashion, you have to go out and do stuff." The initiative to learn as an individual is a skill that will make a college application stand out above the rest, do not wait for opportunities, make them.

As our interview continued we asked Muskan what advice would she give to those looking to be admitted to FIT or other college programs, she responded with, "I would tell them to explore the different aspects of fashion, try their hand at designing, sketching, because, with fashion, the industry is so big. There are so many different jobs like even within just designing‌even in business; it doesn't just have to narrow down to styling, you can become a buyer, you can do operations, you can do so many different things. In high school, if someone wants to do internships or shadowing someone, that would be my best advice. Because with that, you can narrow down your major and see what is best for you" She continues to advise making opportunities for yourself to learn and try new things, adventuring out of your comfort zone. Looking to the immediate future, Muskan very quickly answered that moving to New York was at the top of her list as far as what she is looking forward to most. For the high school student looking to be successful in any field, we asked what she would say is the key to being successful. Through laughter, she responded saying, "don't procrastinate, I know that, that's the most basic advice but don't procrastinate." Which also ties back to making the most of opportunities and making your opportunities. She continued with, "I feel like if you procrastinate, you always end up stressed and tired at the end of the day, and everything ends up piling up, it's not worth it." Continue On Next Page

Let's get personal; let's get to know this Teen Boss Babe, Let's start with her style, "I don't have a specific name for my style, but it would be adventurous, and I like to try different things, where before I would just stick to one certain style, but now I dabble, into street style, the classics, really just everything. I love to do different things with my outfits, and I feel like you don't really have to limit yourself to just a certain style. I will wear what I want to express however I'm feeling that day," Goals! What are your top 3 career goals? "Definitely one of them is to work at Vogue at a corporate, upper level, the second one would also be, to work at Elle, my third career goal would be to start my own sustainable brand one day." Motivation = Boss Moves What serves as your motivation for achieving your goals? "It's sort of my cultural background because not many people from my cultural background going into corporatelevel fashion stuff. Or just creative things in general. So growing up, I never really had a role model that looked like me, so it's very important for me to persevere, despite being very hard sometimes, so I can inspire other little girls who come from my background."

Where do you see yourself in ten years? "That's a long time; honestly, at that point, I would really like to start my own brand. By that time, I would have been very well known in the industry, where I can come out with my own brand, and people would know who I am."
For the perfectionist. A word of advice makes it your definition of perfect. Muskan shared this near the conclusion of our interview with her, "sometimes I have to be a perfectionist in this industry. Because sometimes you have to cut back on the perfection mindset, but also like, if I am going to put something out there that explicitly has my name on it, I want it to be perfect. And once you put something out there, it's out there. So in that way, I feel the need for it to be perfect."

PAULAS GUIDE TO ONLINE CLASSES So you’re an online student for Fall 2020, now what? Here Are Your Must-Haves And Tips! School and College online can be a little challenging, but not impossible! Here are some tips to help you out! 1. Get yourself some blue light glasses! Trust me, you’ll need them! These glasses help block, or filter out, blue light from Digital Devices such as; phones, laptop, iPad and more. Not only that, but they help protect your eyes from over exposure. 2. Redecorate your space and make it more spacious and practical! You don’t need to spend money to do this! Rearrange your room and use items that you already have. Make it a new environment for yourself! This can make you feel more comfortable and ready to work. 3. Establish a Daily Routine! Routines are better to be established at the beginning of each week. Your body and brain will be used to it more at the beginning of the week, than starting it later in the week. For example; wake up every morning at the same time, start your work at the same time and get ready for bed at the same time. Just make sure you have a steady routine and keep up with it! 4. Stay hydrated! Drink lots of water! Your body needs it. Buy a reusable water bottle if necessary and track how much water you’re drinking throughout the day. Not only is it healthy, but it’s a good way to keep you up and energized! 5. Last, but not least, take breaks whenever you can! It’s not good to stay put and work on assignments or projects for 24 hours straight. It’s not healthy for you, your body or your mental health. Make sure you take lunch breaks, snack breaks or stretch breaks I hope these tips and must-haves helped! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the TBB Team or Me (@itspaypayy)!
