EDITORS NOTES
I
sometimes feel as if freedom can be overlooked once you’ve been raised in a free envionment. I guess you can say that Teen Cults first issue is all about showing young females living life and doing something with the every breath that they hold. Our lesson in this issue was visioned to help girls all around the world to be free and be their true selfs. Thats a true freedom girl in our eyes. Have freedom to start your own company, Dance in your room crazy like no ones watching . Sing to your favorite songs like no ones listening , Most importanly be your true self! Why? Your a FREE GIRL! you don’t have to feel limited by what one person might say to bring you down. A Interview in the issue is something I hope everyone enjoys. Its an example of what some young females are starting to do around this world. There starting a huge wave of possiable oppurtunities for them at their young age. Our vision is to help young females understand that theirs no such thing as waiting to start something new in their life. What we hope you take from our interview is that you should create a company, business, or organization that catches your attention, And Go FOR IT! No matter what age you are. From this mindset I set out to build a empire from Teen Cult Magazine. I searched for team members that had talent and that I could trust! I choose wisely! and I build a relationship with many of my team members and we developed TeenCults first issue “Freedom Girl” we truley hope you enjoy

RHODA WONG “No one introduced it to me and somehow my little 8 year old mind found it’s way there.”
I am sixteen years old, and am born and raised in Hong Kong. I have been in love with fashion since I could remember. I used to cry when my mom didn’t let me dress up when we went out. Even if it was to lunch at a little side street restaurant, I had to be wearing my pink dress. Other than fashion, I am known for being a big fitness and health nut.
people’s success is most important to me as a fashion designer. Fashion has become such a competitive field that of course, everyone would race to be at the top. However, I never want to loose my passion over fame. Appreciate your own work and talent and soon, other people will too.
The biggest collection I designed was back in 2011. It featured in my school’s fashion show as well as a local fashion show hosted by Kings College London that helped raise funds for UNICEF. The collection didn’t have a specific inspiration or cohesiveness because I simply wanted to create whatever I drew down. Other than that, I’ve created designs here and there for other local fashion shows and school plays. So, I don’t have a clothing line yet but hopefully one day!
I gain my inspiration from the streets. This is very cliche but it is true because I like to see what people enjoy wearing and with that, I come out with different ways to enhance a certain classic style with the variation of my own style. Inspiration also comes from art and sometimes even from my dreams.
I think fashion designing came naturally to me. No one introduced it to me and somehow my little 8 year old mind found it’s way there and I was hooked ever since.
As I am not a actual fashion designer (yet!), my normal day is quite average. I go to school from 8am-2pm, then I will have sports training, workout or go for a run until 4pm-ish. The rest of the night will consist of homework and relaxing. I also make sure to do at least 15 minutes of yoga before I sleep because stress can easily take me over if I don’t find the time to relax.
I always try to find the three perfect words to describe my style but can never come to finalize it. With help from “Like my dad tells me, choose what . Since I am a young teen my best friend, my style is and am still workyou love to do so you will never have myself eclectic, chic and sophising my way through this big ticated. I will always put dream, I would say to never to work a day in your life. “ some attention into my outgive up! I always tried to add fits and make them look interesting even if it is a simple a bit of fashion design here and there, working with my piece. Such as on my lazy days where I opt for a loose school schedule. Designing costumes, sports uniforms sweater and jeans, I will make sure to look put together or helping your older sibling’s friends design their prom with help of accessories and shoes. Shoes are everything. dress, say yes! Also, if you take art classes and you have the freedom to come up with your own art piece, do The biggest challenges that I have faced would be cost and something fashion related. I self-taught myself how to time. Since I am a junior in high school, I don’t have the sew a cap sleeve dress with a low back using patterns. biggest budget when purchasing materials and when you I don’t usually enjoy constructing from patterns but I envision designs to be high quality and elaborate, fabrics learnt it and now, I will never forget it. and accessories can add up real quick. With that, as I go to school, I haven’t had a lot of time to design or to travel. They were on sale locally but not anymore because they Like I had to miss out my opportunity to attend Brickell are tailor made to fit the specific model (my friends). Fashion Week as the youngest designer two years back! You can browse through all my designs as well as artI love the versatility when it comes to designing clothes. I get work on www.rhodawong.wix.com/rhodawong to choose what kind of girl I want to dress and how I would like them to walk out onto the streets looking like. Other than 5 years from now, I hope to see myself graduating from that, I love how clothes can always brighten someone’s mood. my dream college with a great fashion design portfolio I get to make someone feel beautiful and happy when they and hopefully be working with a well-known fashion choose to put that piece on and it feels great knowing that. designer before I move on to creating my own brand. Come to think about it, I don’t dislike anything about designing clothes. There must be some roadblock in every career, but just like my dad tells me, choose what you love to do so you will never have to work a day in your life. Doing what I love and not comparing my work with other

“ I never actually thought about the whole ‘How do you want to meet your dream guy?’ or ‘Where do you want him to propose?’ kind of thing because I always think of things or events, that have love involved, to just happen by itself. Why waste your time thinking about something that hasn’t even happened yet? Or thinking about something that might never even happen? It is such a pity to see teenage girls fantasizing about boys when none of them has even stood up to talk to them, to see them dreaming dreams that may never come true? I mean, why try to lead and shape up your path to
love when you can just make it lead you. Why even believe in something that isn’t real? “ Now that I look back at it, I must’ve been so cold back then. That was actually before I picked up love itself in the form of a videocamera. “One Lucky Camera” Coming Soon To TeenCult Magazine!

EYE GLAMOUR
TThis summer find the perfect eye shadow color to make your eyes pop! It is important to use colors to flatter and bring out your eye color but also compliment to your skin tone and hair color. I personally have brown/hazel colour eyes( hazel brown with a hint of green) I love to experiment with different blends. It is also important to get the right brightness and blend for every occasion.
“finding the perfect eye shadow colour to make your eyes pop"" -Abby Chapman-
Blog: FashionCrazy-abby.blogspot.com
Finding the right balance for eye color is important. You want to make your eye’s pop but at the same time you don’t want to go OTT with eye shadow when your at work. I think blending different colors can help you bring out your eye color as well as the accents in your outfit. For a more subtle look blend the same color but different shades but if you are feeling daring use different bright colors ilike you can see in the first eye or if you are feeling brave go for clashing colours like in picture three!

“What I Love About Myself?” I love how persistent I am about learning as much as I can with makeup, I wish to be a makeup artist. I also love my short hair, because many girls have long hair, I like being different, it’s nice being a little odd.
Antonia Sanchez United States Age 17
“What I Love About Myself?” I have a very giving heart, I love to give back to others the best I can. I also love that I am a very open minded, I rarely judge others. I am the friend who others call to talk about their problems just to vent, because they know they can tell me without feeling critisized by their situation.

“What I Love About Myself?” I love that I don’t take myself too seriously and that I have a love of humor. I love that I make friends fast and I know how to answer back when someone attacks me.
“What I Love About Myself?” I love almost everything about myself, because if you don’t love yourself you can’t be happy. But I’m very proud of my hair, because the waves and curls are natural and it’s really long already. When I was a child they were naturally red, now they’re light brown, and I’ve got blonde dipdye since one year.

Have you ever wanted cool pictures on your nails but don’t think you’d be able to paint them? Here’s an easy trick: paint your nails a plain white, then take any picture and shrink it down however small you need for it to fit on your nails on your printing software online (ex. Word documents) and print it. Cut out the picture out for how you would like it to fit on your nails. Put a clear coat on the white, and white it is still drying, place the pictures on top of the wet top coat. Once those have dried, put a clear coat on top of the images to prevent it from smearing in water when you wash your hands or from falling off. Good luck!’
When thinking of new nail ideas around holidays, use those events as inspiration! You can make them as unique as you want and they’re sure to stand out from perhaps a plain red mani versus a trendy take on the flag for the 4th of July! Good luck!’
