You ready? This is something we all deal with at a certain age. Let’s talk about peer pressure, drugs & alcohol.

Did you know that 71% of students has tried alcohol by the time they finish high school? And that 34% of students has tried drugs at some point? Statistically, every hour 1 kid decides to take their life because of peer pressure. Peer pressure is when you feel you ‘have to’ do something that you might not usually choose to do. Why? Because kids are calling you out to fit in. I did a little research and found that in the last 10 years, teens face more and more dangers caused by peer pressure. Negative social challenges, self-injury, alcohol & (prescription) drugs, and so on. Isn’t that insane? It all has to do with how we want to ‘modern’ up the world and with our desire to be accepted & by friends.

Want to know how to avoid this craziness? Always be you own individual and analyze your group of friends; are they there to make you or to break you? Important: stand your ground. Be confident in the decisions you make! Only do what makes YOU happy. What I really want to say is: be responsible. Get to know what you stand for, so you won’t fall for anything else. And if someone offers you crypto, scooby-snacks, rocks, grass… just say you’ll pass. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’d better go on Google and inform yourself TODAY! Ask yourself if what you’re doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow. #MadeYouThink

Wiggle Wiggle

gelatin Looking for something fun, sweet and simple to snack on in this hot weather?? Try some Wiggle Wiggle gelatin and you’ll be wigglin’ after eating it!

Prep Time Servings

20 minutes 6 servings

Ingredients • 4 envelopes of KNOX original unflavored gelatin • 1 cup of cold DEL MONTE juice of your choice • 3 cups of DEL MONTE juice of your choice, heated to boiling temperature • 2 tablespoons of sugar or honey (optional)

Instructions: Step  Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold juice in large bowl; let stand for 1 minute.

Step  Add the hot juice and stir until gelatin completely dissolves (until powder disappears); about 5 min.

Step  Add sugar or honey and stir the mixture.

Step  Pour into mini bowls or into a big bowl.

Step Carefully transfer to the fridge and let set for about three hours.

Optional To give the recipe an extra cool and healthy edge, you can pour the mixture into an orange shell instead of a bowl.

Just cut the orange in half and scoop out the pulp with a spoon.

Pour the mixture into the orange shell. Fill it up as high as you can, as the gelatin will shrink a bit when cooling.

After letting the gelatin set in the fridge, place the fruit openside down on a cutting board, hold it in shape with one hand and carefully slice in half lengthwise again to form quarters. Be careful not to push down too hard on the fruit, as you’ll want to keep the gelatin intact.

Ready to serve!

PRESSURE Iedereen heeft weleens te maken met groepsdruk en eigenlijk kan niemand dit helemaal weerstaan. Het is helemaal niet raar dat je weleens iets doet wat je eigenlijk niet wilt, gewoon omdat iedereen het doet. Het voelt namelijk niet prettig om een buitenstaander te zijn. En iedereen vindt het belangrijk om bij een groep te horen.

Negatieve groepsdruk kan ervoor zorgen dat je iets doet waar je het eigenlijk helemaal niet mee eens bent of waar je niet helemaal achter staat. Denk aan pesten, roken, stelen, drinken of drugs gebruiken.

Als je een keuze moet maken is het altijd handig om er even bij stil te staan of je die keuze maakt omdat je het zelf graag wilt, of omdat anderen dat willen. Heb je bij je keuze te maken met groepsdruk, of niet? Want soms heb je niet eens door dat je onder druk staat.

Twijfel je of een keuze wel goed voor je is? Dan kan je de volgende vragen aan jezelf stellen: • Wat vind ik belangrijk?

• Waar voel ik me goed bij?

• Waar ligt mijn grens?

• Wat voor gevoel geeft deze keuze mij?

• Doe ik dit voor mezelf of voor mijn vrienden?

• Wat gebeurt er als ik ‘ja’ zeg?

• Wat gebeurt er als ik ‘nee’ zeg?

TIPS: HOW TO SAY

Het is allemaal wel erg makkelijk gezegd. ‘Kom maar voor jezelf op’ en ‘Just say no’. Maar hoe doe je dat eigenlijk?

Je wilt ook je vrienden niet teleurstellen of bang zijn dat je als loser wordt gezien. Hier vind je een aantal tips:

SMOESJES ZIJN EEN NO-GO De vraag wordt keer op keer weer gesteld en na een aantal keer een lame smoesje te hebben verzonnen zijn je smoesjes op of kom je niet real meer over.

BEDENK VAN TE VOREN WAT JE GAAT ZEGGEN IS ALS DE VRAAG WORDT GESTELD. Als jij een aanbod om drugs te gebruiken wilt afslaan, kun je bijvoorbeeld aangeven dat: …jij drugs ongezond vindt …jij je liever op sporten richt …jij je geld ergens anders aan wilt besteden …jij geen drugs nodig hebt om te chillen … jij het misschien wel een keer wilt proberen, maar pas als JIJ vindt dat je er zelf aan toe bent.

Misschien weet je dat er in jullie groep nog meer mensen zijn die liever nee zeggen. Als je er wat van zegt, dan durven anderen ook voor zichzelf op te komen. Want waarom zou je iets doen waar je helemaal niet achter staat? Vaak voel je dat er meer mensen zijn die het niet eens zijn met bepaalde zaken. Ga daarmee in gesprek en spreek met ze af dat jullie het voor elkaar opnemen als iemand je iets opdringt.

JIJ vindt iets, en als iemand je afkeurt om jouw mening, is dat hun probleem. Niet dat van jou. Echte vrienden respecteren elkaar. Wees trots op jezelf. Je bent juist real als je iets uitspreekt waar je voor staat. Sommige mensen eisen van hun partner dat ze hun liefde bewijzen door seks te hebben. Er zijn zelfs mensen die dreigen de relatie te verbreken als hun partner geen seks met hen heeft. Het kan erg moeilijk zijn wanneer iemand waar je om geeft je vertelt dat je seks met hem/haar moet hebben, ongeacht of je dat wel of niet leuk vindt. Het kan zijn dat je voelt dat je het alleen maar moet doen omdat je niet wilt dat de relatie eindigt of omdat je wilt dat hij/ zij gelukkig is. In dit soort situaties is het moeilijk om te onderscheiden tussen wat de ander wil en wat jij wilt.

Je antwoorden op deze vragen kunnen je helpen je gevoelens te begrijpen en kijken of je klaar bent om met de verantwoordelijkheden van een seksuele relatie om te gaan. Iedereen beslist over zijn/haar lichaam en seks moet voor beiden plezierig zijn.

r Als je jezelf gedwongen voelt om seks te hebben, moet je jezelf de volgende vragen stellen:

Er kan een relatie ontstaan waarin jij je ongemakkelijk voelt omdat de oudere persoon meer macht heeft in de relatie.

Dit soort relaties eisen veel aandacht, wat je studie en je toekomst kan schaden.

Er is een risico op HIV of een zwangerschap omdat het in dit soort relaties moeilijk is om over veilige seks te praten.

Sommige jonge mensen worden in dit soort relatie geduwd door hun eigen ouders, Dit gebeurd vaak omdat de ouders arm zijn en niet kunnen betalen voor schoolgeld, voedsel of kleding voor hun kinderen. Geen ouder heeft echter het recht om hun kind te dwingen om seks te hebben met anderen.

In andere gevallen worden jonge mensen seksueel misbruikt of zelfs verkracht door personen binnen de familie zelf. Het kan een oom of een tante zijn, een ouderen neef of nicht, een stiefvader of stiefmoeder, of zelfs één van de ouders. De persoon die wordt misbruikt kan zich bedreigd en schuldig voelen en niet bij machte om ertegen te reageren. Misbruik door een familielid kan je emoties heel ernstig schaden en is een zeer ernstig misdrijf. Als je in zo’n situatie verkeert, moet je onmiddellijk hulp zoeken. Praat met een volwassene die je vertrouwt, denk aan een familielid of je leerkracht.

Soms leggen ouderen volwassenen druk op jonge mensen om seks te hebben. Deze volwassenen geven meestal geld, cadeautjes of speciale aandacht aan de jonge persoon. Bijvoorbeeld ze geven geld om de school te betalen, voor kleding of beltegoed.

Hoewel het spannend kan lijken om een ouderen of rijke persoon te hebben die interesse toont in je toont, zodat je voelt dat je aantrekkelijk en belangrijk bent, zijn dit soort relaties erg gevaarlijk.
