WHAT IS ‘ART CURATION’ AT TEKUMA? We craft our art proposals with care. Our art proposals focus on your property and your brand. The proposal can be broken into three components. 1. Select

Efficient Curation It is easy to miss out on the latest art content and be overwhelmed with the surplus of available artists. Our platform allows our curators to find the artwork that meets all of your criteria. Art Database Searching for the perfect piece, learning more about the artist, and eventually purchasing an artwork can be difficult and time consuming. Our curators have done all of that work and, with the help of our programmers, are building the largest curated art database. Scaling & Global Access Curated collections are made available to our database on a daily basis. Browse beautifully designed art packages for your property in Singapore or in London.

Top Design Schools Our founding team initially reached out to their alumni communities, to implement an ambassador program at Harvard and MIT’s graduate design programs. Since then, the effort has grown to top design schools in the Northeast.

Organic Outreach We receive requests everyday through various channels (website, online store, social media) and have built a comprehensive artist portal to receive and curate submitted artworks.

Strategic Partnerships To extend our outreach to artist communities, we partnered with companies whose catalog of art includes artists worldwide. Based in Sweden, 1X is the most exclusive photography platform (less than 5% of submissions are onboarded by their curatorial team). With growing competition in the hospitality industry and a booming Airbnb ecosystem, it was Compass’ goal to provide an unmatched guest experience. We helped make that a reality with our innovative art curation service.

Decue Wu, Boston Among other visual arts, DQ works in fashion, graphic design, and illustration. Her work has been featured in several blogs and publications including Airbnb, Vogue, Draw A Dot, and Fashionary Hand. Jeff Powers, Boston Jeff is an artist represented by Art Lifting, a benefit corporation that provides homeless and disabled artists the opportunity to earn their own income. To Jeff, art is therapeutic and gives him purpose. Alessandro Babini, Boston Alessandro is the CEO of Humon, an MIT spinoff building the next generation of sports wearables to enhance human performance. He often compares his art to the process of building a startup.

OUR MISSION

Tekuma is an emerging award-winning startup founded in 2015 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, USA. At the intersection of art, technology and real estate, our curation platform aims to solve the problem of exhibiting and buying art. Too much talent and creativity goes unseen. In the meantime, there is a lot of properties that could be authentic and unique. By embracing the sharing economy, we want to help people activate their living spaces into vibrant art galleries.

OUR STORY

We were students at the MIT School of Architecture & Center for Real Estate when we were inspired to create Tekuma. The idea stemmed when no one showed up to our final design presentation. This sparked the idea of displaying our work in Airbnbs. We embraced the challenge and wanted to solve the inefficiencies of today’s art industry. Traditional galleries are limited in real estate. With so much creative talent and plenty of walls that need it, we had to do something to connect the two. We believe that art should be accessible. Tekuma works to ensure that every space can be transformed into an art gallery, where artists’ stories are told and their work is sold.
