TEMWA PRESENTS ART FOR AFRICA:
CONTEMPORARY URBAN ART AUCTION
SAT 10TH JUNE 2017
ATTIC BAR
STOKES CROFT // BRISTOL VIEWING FROM 6PM. AUCTION STARTS AT 8PM PROMPT.
FEATURING WORK BY WORLD-RENOWNED ARTISTS AS WELL AS LOCAL UP-AND-COMING TALENT, RAISING MONEY FOR TEMWA’S SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITYBASED PROJECTS IN MALAWI, AFRICA.
ART FOR AFRICA 2017 Art for Africa is Bristol’s annual art auction in aid of Temwa. We are a Bristol-based charity working in remote, rural areas of northern Malawi – where 40% of the population live on less than £1 a day, 16% are HIV-positive and one in three people struggle to feed themselves each day. Artwork is contributed to Art for Africa each year by some of the UK’s finest urban and contemporary artists, alongside budding African artists from Malawi. Our first art auction was held at the Tobacco Factory in August 2003, and since then the event has gone from strength to strength. This year, Art for Africa is more special than ever, as we have more lots up for auction than any year previously.
LIVE PAINTING FROM 4 PM
This is a unique opportunity to watch the masters at work! We have the incredible 3DOM, 45RPM, Andy Council, Epok, Inkie and Will Barras taking part this year. With two rounds of live painting, the first from 4 - 6 pm and a second at 6 - 8 pm, there will be several canvases entered straight into the evening’s auction. These will be immediately available to bid on via www.proxibid/temwa. So, make sure you follow Temwa’s Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds for details and live updates.
KIDS PAINTING WORKSHOP 4-6 PM
Alongside the live painting we are holding our first Kids Painting Workshop, run by the inspirational team at The Paintsmiths. A tight-knit team of diverse and highly skilled artists, The Paintsmiths have created some of the finest murals the UK has to offer. Some of the foremost graffiti artists in the UK, they are keen to encourage a new generation of young artists to keep The Paintsmiths spirit alive in Bristol, long after they hang up their brushes and cans! There’s no need to book for this workshop - just bring the kids along on the day!
DJ DIE AFTERPARTY
The Art for Africa Afterparty never fails to deliver. This year there will be DJs playing until 2 am at Attic Bar. With DJ Die on board - co-founder of drum and bass label Full Cycle Recordings, a member of acts Reprazent (1997 Mercury Prize winners) and Breakbeat Era - 2017 will be no exception. So, this year, with street food, t-shirt printing, screen printing and DJs till late, there’s something for all the family! Each year, the art auction raises essential funds to sustain our mission: to develop self-sufficient communities by supporting projects in education, health, agriculture and forestry, and microfinance. But, just as importantly, these events help to raise awareness of the essential life-saving work that our project teams in Malawi carry out every day. Today, our work is more vital than ever. Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world, continues to be affected by the worst food crisis we have ever seen. In critical times, we provide short-term relief via food intervention projects, but more significantly we are working towards delivering long-term solutions, enabling the most vulnerable people and communities to achieve sustainable living through our agriculture and forestry projects. We could not do any of this without the generous support of all the talented artists who have donated their time, talent and skill to this year’s Art for Africa event. Everyone at Temwa and the people of Nkhata Bay North in Malawi are incredibly grateful. We cannot thank all the artists, DJs, sponsors and volunteers enough for making this event possible and we could not be more appreciative of the hard work and dedication that all involved have put in to ensure its success. Thank you also, of course, to everyone who supports Temwa’s vital work by bidding at the event; and thanks to everyone else for simply turning up and spreading the word!”

TEMWA Founded in 2003, Temwa works in a remote rural area of northern Malawi – Nkhata Bay North – which consists of a network of 145 villages and has a population of 45,000 people. These isolated communities have limited electricity, no running water and high levels of HIV and AIDS. Few roads and limited access to transport means that these isolated communities receive very little government help. Temwa aims to fight poverty, hunger and disease. Whilst our projects aim to benefit every member of the communities we serve, we focus on specifically reaching vulnerable families – those affected by HIV and AIDS, female or child-headed households, and orphan hosting families. Temwa has grown organically from the needs identified by the communities we serve. This has resulted in a range of holistic and interconnected projects covering different programme areas including agriculture, skills and entrepreneurial training, health education and schools support. We train villagers to grow a variety of fruits and vegetables to improve the nutrition in their diet. We plant trees to combat the devastating effects of deforestation. We run HIV testing clinics and work to combat the stigma surrounding those who test positive. We build school blocks and fund students through their secondary education, and we provide microfinance loans to support the expansion of local businesses. At Temwa, we recognise that lasting change takes time and can only be achieved through empowering the people of Nkhata Bay North to lead their own destiny. That’s why our projects offer long-term solutions: we have an enduring commitment to the communities we serve, offering programmes that develop self-sufficiency, and give people the opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty. Crucially, our projects are driven by the communities we serve. We believe that they must remain at the centre of all that we do. All decisions and project developments are led by the communities themselves. We aim to provide the resources to enable these people to lift themselves out of poverty and create lasting change for their own future. AN UPDATE ON THE FOOD CRISIS IN MALAWI Malawi continues to face a severe food shortage. In 2016, the country’s President, Peter Mutharika, declared a ‘state of national disaster’. Since that declaration, the situation has remained dire. The El Nino weather system creates torrid conditions in Southern Africa every year. As a result, Malawi suffers what is known as a hunger season, as people struggle to grow enough food to feed their families. The drought experienced throughout 2016 resulted in a meagre harvest, leaving communities without food to eat, or indeed any extra crops to sell for a small income. In turn, per capita income is steadily declining in Malawi, while food prices have rocketed to 172 percent above the five-year average. To make matters worse, communities have also faced flash flooding, ruining crops that were beginning to grow. Mass malnutrition and even death are very real consequences as a result of this crisis. While droughts cannot be prevented, our work in Malawi helps to prepare communities to cope through food crises. The difficult terrain surrounding the communities in which we operate means that nationwide operations to help subsistence farmers often don’t reach thousands of people. We need to ensure we can continue our work, and in doing so ensure the survival of these hard-to-reach communities. The crisis is ongoing, but the worst may even be yet to come, such is the unpredictability of weather patterns in this region. In 2016, we instigated emergency food distribution intervention to 1,000 households in response to shortages. Throughout the year, we were also able to make huge progress in increasing crop yields through training on farming methods, as well as conducting awareness and training sessions on climate change and adaptation - an activity that has reached 3,500 people. Tonight’s Art for Africa auction is raising money to support Temwa’s ongoing response to the food crisis. We are, and will continue to do, everything we can to support the communities through this difficult time. However, we can only do this with support from people like you. Thank you for supporting our event, funds raised will go directly towards saving the lives of people in some of the most remote communities of one of the world’s poorest countries.”
HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT TEMWA’S WORK Everything that we’ve achieved over the past 14 years simply wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of the extended Temwa family – our staff, volunteers, fundraisers, donors, and partners, both in the UK and Malawi. If you’re inspired to join us in our mission to develop self-sufficient communities in Northern Malawi, then we’d love to have you on board!

LOT NUMBER: 1 ARTIST: BEX GLOVER TITLE: ARNOS STUDY 1 & 2 DIMENSIONS: 14.8CM X 21CM MEDIUM: SPRAY PAINT AND ACRYLIC ON CANVAS ESTIMATED VALUE: £70-80 Bex Glover is a contemporary artist and illustrator working in physical and digital mediums. Her abstract, nature inspired artwork deconstructs the organic world, exploring shape, geometry, intersecting lines and the fusion of foreground and background elements, in vibrant colour palettes and atmospheric layers. Bex is currently based in Bristol where she runs her freelance illustration and graphic design practice Severn Studios.
LOT NUMBER: 2 ARTIST: GEMMA COMPTON TITLE: PORCELAIN DIMENSIONS: 70CM X 50CM MEDIUM: GICLÉE PRINT WITH HAND-FINISHED GOLF LEAF DETAIL ESTIMATED VALUE: £165 Born in 1982 in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. Currently living and working from Bristol, UK. 2008 Graduated from University of West England with a First Class (Hons) degree in Fashion Illustration. Growing up in a small Cotswold town sparked a passion for nature from a young age. Her Father worked as a commercial printer when she was a child, filling the house with paper, which only encouraged her love of drawing. She shared her childhood with a creative younger sister (now academic and museum curator), an inspiring mother and loving grandparents who encouraged long walks and bird watching. Her creative enthusiasm was encouraged throughout school and growing up in the 1980s left her with ambitions of becoming an illustrator for Disney. In 2001 at the age of 18, Gemma was a passenger in an RTA. Suffering serious injuries, including spinal fractures, life went on hold as she progressed through a long period of recovery. The aim to get back onto an artistic path helped her move forward with her life and over 10 years on from the accident she had completed college courses and graduated with First Class Honours from the University of West England. She now lives and works from her studio in Bristol with her husband, contemporary artist Copyright. Her contemporary style experiments with pattern, texture and symbolism. Exploring the meaning of Fragility, Love, Life and Loss, drawing on her own life experiences of near death and mortality. Her artworks have crossed from gallery walls to high street fashion labels, interiors and street art murals. Exhibiting internationally and at home, including the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. Clients have included: Facebook NY, ASOS, Topshop, Claridges, Latitude Festival, Bristol Life magazine and Mercure Hotel Group.
LOT NUMBER: 3 ARTIST: JO PEEL TITLE: PITTSBURGH HOUSE DIMENSIONS: 52CM X 39CM MEDIUM: 3-COLOUR SCREEN-PRINT ON BROWN PAPER ESTIMATED VALUE: £65 Jo Peel spends her time documenting in great detail her fascination with everyday scenes and scenarios. From abandoned east London construction sites to the streets of Tokyo and Pittsburgh, all are captured in her well observed and uniquely executed style. By drawing, Peel offers her view that it is these cityscapes that are as important to the topographic psyche as the natural beauty of the nature that surrounds it. This is not finding beauty in the dust; this is offering a new language to understand what is beautiful.
LOT NUMBER: 4 ARTIST: DICY TITLE: CHEM SPLIT 2 DIMENSIONS: 50CM X 50CM MEDIUM: PRINT ESTIMATED VALUE: £60 Dicy was born and bred in Wolverhampton in West Midlands. After the broadcasting of the seminal Hip Hop documentary Style Wars in 1985 on Channel 4, Dicy became heavily addicted to the explosion of the UK graffiti scene. In 1987 Dicy went to Birmingham to embark on a two year art foundation course - surrounded by a quickly flourishing graffiti scene in the Midlands, especially in Birmingham, he used art college as a means to experiment with many different art forms such as screen printing and painting, whilst spending every other opportunity drawing and painting graffiti. Alongside projects for different companies like Channel 4, Wrangler, Fred Perry, Dunlop and Virgin, Dicy started to establish himself as an important part of the Bristol scene, organizing several different exhibitions and event. In 1998, he set up a partnership opening the well respected clothing store Alterior - very much supporting the whole graffiti scene through selling related clothing and products and pushing local artists through a monthly exhibition space within the store. Initially known for his 3D and graphic letter forms, Dicy’s style has become more twisted and abstract with the flow and structure of the piece being the key element to his work. The ‘fill in’ of Dicy’s early pieces has now become the main content, pushing him to work more loosely and break things up into a more dynamic and abstract style. More and more incorporating lots of different tools and mediums, you can find a piece by Dicy might well be just a selection of marks and brush strokes, or more in depth with letterforms or imagery. The ultimate result will be that the piece will excite and occupy the viewers eye the more you look and study the painting

LOT NUMBER: 9 ARTIST: LOKEY TITLE: AL FRESCO DIMENSIONS: 50.5CM X 40CM MEDIUM: SPRAY PAINT, ACRYLIC AND PEN ON CANVAS ESTIMATED VALUE: £100 - 215 Lokey was born and raised in Bristol. His passion for graffiti started in the mid 1980s through a chance meeting in a local park, breakdancing with some kids who had returned from their holiday in America with hip-hop mix tapes and photographs of graffiti. They told him he had to have a street name, a tag, and from that point on he was hooked. After playing about with a few other tags he became Lokey. He is the youngest veteran of the Bristol graffiti phenomenon, with over 20 years of experience in the once underground scene, which is now very much a part of the day-to-day lives of Bristolian people. His writing style has progressed, over the years, from simple Bubble letters in the early days, through to Wildstyle and now the 3D lettering that he is most known for. Lokey has exhibited at numerous galleries across Bristol including at the RWA, Weapon of Choice Gallery, Upfest Gallery, King of Paint, The Farm and The Emporium to name a few, and he has also exhibited as far afield as Abu Dhabi. In the form of stencils and stickers, the streets of nearly every major city on the planet have been decorated with this now iconic motif. A project conceived long before the term ‘street art’ was born, Toaster indeed transcends the street, also appearing on flags in football stadiums, cricket grounds and music festivals. With recent solo shows in Berlin, Liverpool and London, the Toaster project is now continued by one of the original three members.
LOT NUMBER: 14 ARTIST: WINGED FOX TITLE: ARCTIC JOY DIMENSIONS: 30CM X 40CM MEDIUM: ACRYLICS AND SPRAY PAINT ON CANVAS ESTIMATED VALUE: £150 Tina aka Winged Fox grew up in Switzerland and is now a Bristol-based artist, tour guide and translator. She uses different media to create her art. Her images often seek the joy within, the strength to continue, and a glimpse of self-expression, to delight the viewer, but leaving it open to interpretation. This is her first time contributing to a charity auction. She hopes her piece will go a long way to helping the cause.
LOT NUMBER: 15 ARTIST: PRSC TITLE: VISIT STOKES CROFT DIMENSIONS: 70CM X 47CM MEDIUM: PRINT ESTIMATED VALUE: £20-30 Since 2007, the People’s Republic of Stokes Croft – PRSC – has worked to promote civil liberty with particular focus on public space. Sweeping, painting and speaking out are all a part of their resistance to zealous regulation of independent initiative. Their lead has encouraged others to do the same and, as a result, the area has become a hub of confident creative dissent.
LOT NUMBER: 16 ARTIST: PRSC - MONIKA PIENIG (TEA POT) AND BEV MILWARD (TEA CUPS) TITLE: UNTITLED DIMENSIONS: VARIOUS MEDIUM: TEA CUPS: FINE BONE CHINA WITH 1950’S WHITE STARBURSTS AND GOLD STARS. TEA POT: ORIGINAL 1960’S TEA POT DECORATED IN 1980’S PRINT AND GOLD SPODE EDGING. ESTIMATED VALUE: £160 Stokes Croft China is PRSC’s principal income generator. Whilst money remains tight, complete autonomy is maintained without funding. All workers are volunteers and all money from the sale of china goes towards running, among other things, a well equipped painters’ yard which facilitates much of the extraordinary street art unique to the area.
LOT NUMBER: 17 ARTIST: CHINA MIKE TITLE: STUDY IN YELLOW DIMENSIONS: 100CM X 70CM MEDIUM: ACRYLIC AND OIL PASTEL ESTIMATED VALUE: £800-1000 China Mike’s paintings are a celebration of mark making, colour and the impulses of creative process. Whatever the subject matter, he always tries to capture a sense of spontaneity and honesty through mark making, not concerning himself with the artifice of beauty, instead allowing colour and form - through creative reaction - to produce their own aesthetic quality, one that feels less forced, deliberate and artificial. His work mostly focuses on figurative motifs but often tries to subvert the natural familiarity of any subject matter with a shroud of ambiguity. He paints with a variety of media, as each different one provides a breadth of possibilities with which to make his unique mark.
LOT NUMBER: 18 ARTIST: MR JAGO TITLE: BRING IT DOWN DIMENSIONS: 61CM X 71.1CM MEDIUM: ARCHIVAL PIGMENT PRINT ON 290GSM MOAB RAG FINE ART PAPER ESTIMATED VALUE: £250. SOLD OUT EDITION OF 40 Since graduating from the University of the West of England in Bristol in 1998, Duncan Jago’s work has undergone a prolonged and continuous process of abstraction. Duncan’s early – doodle-derived – mark making evolved deliberately into his current way of working; the droid-like figures of his formative, commercial illustration slowly enveloped in ever-deepening layers of colour and shade. These figures have now become almost entirely hidden, remaining as shadowy, compositional elements, spectres lurking in the gloom behind the kaleidoscopic vapours of (what might perhaps be) humankind’s vanity and pollution. One senses a narrative, but it remains obscured, teasingly just out of view.
LOT NUMBER: 19 ARTIST: PARIS TITLE: PARIS SPECIAL DIMENSIONS: 29.5CM X 21CM MEDIUM: ACRYLIC AND MARKER ON PAPER ESTIMATED VALUE: £100-150 Paris rose to global fame in 2011 when he worked alongside the British rock band Coldplay creating a massive piece of spray can art for the cover of their fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto (and subsequent world tours). He regularly participates in British music events, most recently creating work for the public and private areas at Glastonbury Festival 2016. His work can easily be identified by its unique combination of atmospheric colours, detailed and highly stylised line work and space-age effects.
LOT NUMBER: 20 ARTIST: PARIS TITLE: MANY MUSHROOMS DIMENSIONS: 29.5CM X 20CM MEDIUM: ACRYLIC AND MARKER ON PAPER ESTIMATED VALUE: £100-150
LOT NUMBER: 21 ARTIST: PARIS TITLE: UNTITLED DIMENSIONS: SIZE 12 MEDIUM: DENIM JACKET WITH ACRYLIC AND PAINT PEN ESTIMATED VALUE: £100-150
LOT NUMBER: 22 ARTIST: PARIS TITLE: UNTITLED DIMENSIONS: 20.5CM X 82.5CM MEDIUM: MIXED MEDIA ON WOOD ESTIMATED VALUE: £100-150
LOT NUMBER: 23 ARTIST: MKWF TITLE: FULLY LOADED DIMENSIONS: 50CM X 50CM MEDIUM: SPRAY PAINT AND WATERCOLOUR ON 300GSM PAPER ESTIMATED VALUE: £360 MKWF moved to Bristol in 2006 from the depths of Somerset, where he continued to paint with stencils and mixed media, working on reclaimed wood and found materials. Now living in Gloucestershire working for a highprofile artist. Badgers Nature Not Nuisance.
LOT NUMBER: 24 ARTIST: GILES BARWICK TITLE: SOULFUL DIMENSIONS: 70CM X 50CM MEDIUM: ABSTRACT, MIXED MEDIA, ACRYLIC PENCIL ESTIMATED VALUE: £180 Giles is a Bristol (UK) based fine artist. He first studied Graphic Design, and following a short course at St Ives School of Art he applied to the University of West of England (UWE) to study Fine Art. It was here he was awarded the “Innes Wilken Art in Architecture” prize. Since gaining his BA, Giles has continued to develop his innovative techniques and shrewd use of colours within his work. Painting and drawing have been integral to Giles’ life. Heavily influenced by the early 80s, Giles has long had an interest in comics and graphic novels and has been painting and doodling his entire life. As an artist, he currently produces 2D abstract work. His art is a means of self-expression and therapy, yet the resulting angst-ridden canvases are bright and lively in nature. The techniques are varied and now adopt an illustrative style in favour of the linear markings of his early works. The rough brush strokes, dribbles and smears are achieved with the use of acrylics, pens and spray cans.

Although young when she moved to the UK these roots have always had a deep impact on her painting. Emily now regularly returns to travel, paint and exhibit in Africa. The majority of Kirby’s work draws on the study of people and wildlife, using the figure as the central object for interpretation. In the past Emily was interested in tribal identities but more recently she has become primarily concerned with exploring methods of painting that allow her to communicate raw emotion, movement and expression. Bold brushwork and a loose expressive technique have become a defining quality in Kirby’s work, with a continued investigation into colour and form lying at the heart of her practice. Emily has exhibited internationally and in 2012 was awarded The Chairmans Ngoma Award for Visual Artist in the Diaspora. Emily currently lives in Madrid after living in East London for many years.

LOT NUMBER: 63 ARTIST: MASON STORM TITLE: DEBBIE DIMENSIONS: 24CM X 24CM MEDIUM: PHOTO PRINT. ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION CAMPBELLS SOUP CAN ESTIMATED VALUE: £450 “I am probably best known for my mask, and it’s become a trademark, hiding my identity whilst creating a mystique, which helps with promotion and publicity. I began wearing it when in 2010 I said I was going to reveal the face of the artist Banksy in an oil painting. The whole campaign was nothing more than a big marketing ploy and it worked. The supposed unveiling of Banksy courted a lot of negative publicity and the occasional death threat –nothing I haven’t encountered many times in my previous life – but I knew the fact that I was remaining anonymous would annoy his followers even more. Secondly, in my previous careers I have met and dealt with some extremely dangerous and intense people. I still do occasional consulting work and for that reason I try to stay anonymous; I would rather the two worlds remained completely separate.”
LOT NUMBER: 64 ARTIST: COPYRIGHT TITLE: AMERICAN PRINCESS 4 DIMENSIONS: 70CM X 50CM MEDIUM: FROM A SOLD OUT LIMITED EDITION OF 50 ESTIMATED VALUE: £150–200 Copyright decided to study photography and video production at his local college, and it was here he discovered a seemingly limitless supply of art materials he could ‘borrow’ to create his own paintings. Soon after, he had his own eureka moment when he realised he could turn his photographs into paintings by creating stencils. When his source of free supplies finally dried up, he turned to the streets as a new free canvas. It was in this very public domain that his work began getting noticed, and it wasn’t long before his first showing at a gallery. Many years later, with no formal art training or qualifications, he is continuously experimenting and pushing his work forward, mixing new materials and techniques with his trademark style with the resulting paintings being as much fine art as street art. Over the last decade, Copyright has been invited to show his work worldwide, including solo shows in London, Tokyo, and Chicago. He was asked to design the cover of Reload magazine to go alongside a feature about his art, as well as pieces in Harpers Bazaar, Teen Vogue and Modart amongst others. He was featured on Series 8 of the BBC show The Apprentice. His highly stylised work and unique style has proven popular with both national and international collectors including a number of celebrities and Premier League footballers.

Orrible has been making his mark since an early age growing up in Plymouth, exploring areas of urban decay whist being heavily immersed in the skateboarding and drum n bass counter culture of the late nineties into the 21st century – all heavy influences on his work today. Living and working just outside Salcombe, it is here where he feels most at home and how his signature style of stencil art has emerged. Orrible has a deep-rooted love for nature and animals and this is portrayed beautifully throughout his collection of works, which can be in the form of a street paste up, canvas, or studio screen print. Operating from a 500-year-old farmhouse in his pig sty studio with nesting owls, swallows and bats overhead, he bases his art on his local natural surroundings but with the element and execution of street art and graffiti of the city, a far cry from the busy sprawling streets of London or Amsterdam where his street art can be found. Orrible is currently showcasing his work with Jealous Gallery in Shoreditch, London and Rise Gallery in Croydon, London, as well as The Drang Gallery in Salcombe, Devon.

IT’S ALL 2 MUCH
PRSC
It’s All 2 Much art gallery was conceived by founder Chris Logan in 2011. As an avid collector of art, he had spotted an artwork by Bristol artist Jim Starr and in the course of buying the piece he learned from the artist that he was looking for a commercial tenant for his ground floor shop on Cheltenham Road in Bristol – as a result, It’s All 2 Much art gallery opened its doors for the first time in December 2011.
Since 2007, the People’s Republic of Stokes Croft – PRSC – has worked to promote civil liberty with particular focus on public space.
Bristol has been at the forefront of art for the past thirty years, primarily due to the graffiti works of Banksy ably supported by the likes of Nick Walker, 3D, Inkie, FLX and Mr Jago. A second generation including Dicy, 3Dom, SPZero76, Cheba, SPQR and Andy Council have taken up the baton and continue to transform drab urban areas into colourful murals. But as this street art is increasingly adopted into popular culture, many of these artists have transferred their creativity from concrete to canvas, a medium that is far more gallery-friendly and collectable. Residing in Stokes Croft, it is no surprise that we talk with, and exhibit the works of, many of the street artists that Bristol is now so well-known for, but we are also able to offer our visitors examples of figurative, illustrative and abstract art. The gallery has moved to 11-13 Stokes Croft. www.itsall2much.co.uk
Sweeping, painting and speaking out are all a part of their resistance to zealous regulation of independent initiative. Their lead has encouraged others to do the same and, as a result, the area has become a hub of confident creative dissent. Stokes Croft China is PRSC’s principal income generator. Whilst money remains tight, complete autonomy is maintained without funding. All workers are volunteers and all money from the sale of china goes towards running, among other things, a well equipped painters’ yard which facilitates much of the extraordinary street art unique to the area. www.prsc.org.uk
JAKE DAVIS DESIGN Jake is a legendary designer and Director of Upfest who has been supporting Temwa tirelessly for many years! He designs all marketing collateral for Temwa, including the annual Art for Africa catalogue, as well as promotion material for their fundraising and challenge events. Jo Hook, Temwa’s founder says, “I cannot thank Jake enough for his unwavering support over the years. We are hugely grateful for all the time he has spent making our Art For Africa catalogue look amazing again this year. He handles all our design requests, is always professional and more than happy to help! His support really is invaluable to the success of the charity as we could not begin to afford the usual hourly charges for a freelancer or design agency. As a small charity, we rely hugely on the generosity of skilled people such as Jake who take time out of their busy days to help us. Jake is a gifted and versatile designer, able to work in a huge variety of styles, magically turning our design requests around at the drop of a hat. We cannot thank Jake enough for producing another truly beautiful catalogue for our auction this year!” www.jakedavisdesign.co.uk
