Truckers Against Predators Truckers Against Predators is a network of truck drivers, parents and concerned citizens who advocate for the safety of America’s children every day. They work tirelessly to expose these predators while collaborating with both law enforcement and legislators to influence law and crime standards for child predators. The team monitors social media platforms, chat rooms, websites, games & forums. They are on the lookout for suspicious questions, conversations and connections. These trained adult volunteers act as decoys, connecting with suspected criminals, engaging with them in a detailed process and setting a meeting place and time. The police are called on every case. TAP meets the alleged predator and confronts them live on video. The goal is that the exposure and evidence leads to an immediate arrest & public awareness. Truckers Against Predators was founded by Anthony Greene in 2017. Anthony founded TAP because he was a victim of sexual abuse himself, as a child. Anthony saw it as an opportunity to help make a difference in the world.

In fact, some states’ laws dictate that, unless caught in the act, these types of scenarios are deemed “victim less crimes.” Anthony certainly did not agree with that, and neither would most parents. Knowing he could not keep quiet or stand by and do nothing, Anthony got to work and founded TAP. He began seeking out the predators, intercepting them at rendezvous points and exposing them on live video on social media. To date, Anthony is exposing predators almost every day of the week. The police are called ahead of time on every case. Transcripts and video footage are provided to them as evidence. Sometimes the predators are arrested, many times they aren’t. In Arizona, in particular, the city of Yuma Police Department works closely with Anthony and his team to bring justice. It is Anthony’s desire and goal to have great collaborations with every police department. Over the course of the last few years, Anthony has built up a team who help identify and draw out these monsters and expose them for their planned crimes. All of this work is done on personal time and without any compensation. Days, even weeks are spent on just one case to ensure extra caution and proper protocols are in place. Live meetups often last all night once the police are involved.

As a father and truck driver, Anthony Greene drives thousands of miles every month. While on the road, he saw the work of adult predators in truck stops and parking lots in both big cities and small towns across Anthony is active on social media and uses his voice America. After calling the police on multiple occasions to educate parents, influence legislators, support police and receiving little support, Anthony was faced with departments and save children. a dilemma. Many states do not have laws in place that www.truckersagainstpredators.tv adequately protect children from these sick individuals.

My children, listen when your father corrects you. Pay attention and learn good judgment, for I am giving you good guidance. Don’t turn away from my instructions. For I, too, was once my father’s son, tenderly loved as my mother’s only child. My father taught me, “Take my words to heart. Follow my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you. She will place a lovely wreath on your head; she will present you with a beautiful crown.” My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. When you walk, you won’t be held back; when you run, you won’t stumble. Take hold of my instructions; don’t let them go. Guard them, for they are the key to life. Don’t do as the wicked do, and don’t follow the path of evildoers. Don’t even think about it; don’t go that way.

Proverbs Chapter 4

Turn away and keep moving. For evil people can’t sleep until they’ve done their evil deed for the day. They can’t rest until they’ve caused someone to stumble. They eat the food of wickedness and drink the wine of violence! The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over. My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

Hometown Heroes US Our Mission To honor those who served and to support those still serving.

Our Patch There is an old saying in the motorcycle community ... “If it’s not in your heart, don’t put it on your back.” This is why we designed every single detail of our back-patch with a specific meaning. Our organization’s colors are the same as those of our nation ... Red, White, and Blue. These colors represent the patriotism that each of us share, as evidenced by our chosen professions. The U.S. Flag is tattered, symbolizing the hardships endured while serving our communities, states, and nation ... as well as those endured by our families that stand with us. The background of the patch is white to remind us of the purity of our mission and that we represent something larger than ourselves. The patch is bordered in black. This is to honor those who are no longer with us; true heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. The figures on the patch are silhouetted. This is to represent all who serve, or have served, regardless of gender, age, race, religion, heritage, or social status. These silhouettes are positioned in front of the flag, standing tall. This is to inform all who see our patch that we stand for our flag, we stand by our oaths, and we stand together as family ... Military, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMS, and other Emergency Response Personnel alike. So yes, we agree ... If it’s not in your heart, don’t put it on your back.

18

Our Organization Hometown Heroes U.S. is a motorcycle based association of men and women who understand the true definition of service. Our members are current or former Military, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Search and Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, 911 Dispatchers, and family members who share a certain “esprit de corps” along with a passion for riding motorcycles. We are law-abiding citizens who are united in supporting and serving our communities, states, and nation. Although Hometown Heroes is not a charity, many of our members are active in numerous charitable causes within their local areas, especially those that benefit children’s organizations, our Veterans, and the families of Fallen Police Officers and other First Responders. We take great pride in our commitment to our communities and helping those in need.

Tennessee Human Trafficking BE AWARE

Human Trafficking is modern-day slavery, plain and simple. It happens here. And it has to stop.

Williamson Counties. There are a few primary reasons for this:

Consider the facts:

The first reason is related to transportation and location. Nashville is one of only six U.S. cities where 3 major interstates converge. Additionally, you can reach 75% of the U.S. market within a 2-hour flight time from Nashville, making it a strategic point for movement around the country. Nashville is also in close proximity to Atlanta – a large metropolitan area known for high amounts of human trafficking – and this adds to the transportation of victims throughout the state.

In the United States, on average, every two minutes, a child is bought or sold for sex. The average age of a child sold for sex is 13 years old. Human Trafficking is the second-fastest growing criminal industry, just behind Drug Trafficking.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has reported that human trafficking is the second-highest rising crime in the state. This type of exploitation can begin in childhood or adolescence. Despite common The second reason that Nashville is a popular spot for misconceptions, the Polaris Project’s statistics show that human trafficking is its large tourism and sporting the majority of trafficked individuals in the country are industries. Studies have shown that popular events U.S. citizens, not foreign nationals. It is a harsh reality that are characterized by large influxes of people that the young people in our lives may be the same (like the Super Bowl, for example) typically increase ones vulnerable to traffickers. Additionally, human the demand for sexual exploitation. The presence of trafficking often does not align with over-dramatized both the Nashville Predators and Tennessee Titans, as media portrayals. HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS A DEMAND ISSUE There are an estimated 4.8 million victims of sex trafficking worldwide, with the United States leading all other nations in driving demand for purchased sex. The demand for purchasing women, men and children for sex is continuing to escalate due to our hyper sexualized society, and the demand for sex with even younger children is increasing. This is attracting more sex traffickers to the industry who see a financial opportunity to cash in on the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world. Conservative estimates project that 10% – 15% of sex trafficked children in the U.S. are males, with some studies showing up to 50%. Studies show that 90% of women want to get out of prostitution but feel trapped or simply do not know how. Between 60% and 70% of trafficked children in the U.S. come from child social services or the foster care system. Human trafficking is a reality around the world, and prevalent right here in the United States. It takes many forms, including sex trafficking, forced labor and domestic servitude.

OVER 15% OF ALL MEN IN AMERICA PURCHASE SEX.

There are hundreds of thousands, and potentially over a million, victims trapped in the world of sex trafficking in the United States. Because of the hidden nature of the crime, it is essentially impossible to know how many for sure. And while statistics vary on the number of children in the U.S. who are trafficked, we firmly believe the number is by far in excess of 100,000. Women, men, girls and boys are all victims of sex trafficking in the United States, and the problem continues to grow. Some conservative estimates project 10% – 15% of trafficked children in the U.S. are boys, with a considerable portion of them transgender. To end human trafficking, we must work together by identifying best practices across the country and help one another implement them in communities throughout the U.S. No one organization has the solution, and the areas of expertise needed are broad and deep. Focus on the restoration of victims, education of communities, law enforcement and students, and an all-out assault on fighting the demand are necessary to begin to see progress being made.

85% OF THOSE SOLD IN SEX SLAVERY WERE ABUSED AS CHILDREN.

QUICK FACTS • Worldwide, there are 40.3 million victims, with 75% women and girls and 25% children, (according to The International Labor Organization) • 4.8 million people are involved in forced sexual exploitation worldwide, with more than 1 million of those victims being children under the age of 18 years. (According to the International Labor Organization) • Human trafficking is a $150 billion industry worldwide (According to the International Labor Organization) • Human trafficking is modern-day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. (According to the Department of Homeland Security) • Sex trafficking occurs when force, fraud, or coercion is used to cause a commercial sex act with an adult. Force, fraud or coercion need not be present for sex trafficking to occur with a child under the age of 18. When a commercial sex act occurs with a child under the age of 18, it is by definition sex trafficking. (According to the U.S. Department of State) • A commercial sex act is identified by the exchange of anything of value (eg. money, drugs, food, clothing, shelter) for a sexual act. (According to the Department of Justice) • Because of the hidden nature of the crime, it is essentially impossible to know with certainty how many people are sex trafficked in the United States.

• While statistics vary on the number of children in the U.S. who are trafficked, we firmly believe the number is by far in excess of 100,000, based upon our experience and estimates in communities across the country. • It is projected that between 60% and 70% of trafficked children in the U.S. come from child social services or the foster care system. (According to a FBI Investigation in 2013) • An estimated 1 in 7 runaways are likely victims of sex trafficking, (according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 2017) • LGBTQ youth are more vulnerable to being sextrafficked because they have higher runaway rates, as a result of more discrimination, violence and economic problems than their non-LGBTQ peers. (According to the U.S. Department of State and Polaris) • According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the average age a child first becomes a victim of sex trafficking is between 12-14. • 84% of those in sex slavery were sexually abused as children, (according to World Without Exploitation) • 90.8% of trafficking survivors reported being arrested, (according to National Survivor Network), whereas we estimate fewer than 10% of buyers are arrested. • 92% of victims are physically assaulted, (according to Loyola University’s Annals of Health Law) Source: The US Institute Against Human Trafficking

It has been estimated that as often as every two minutes around the world, a life is being bought and sold as if it were merely a commodity to be traded. Human beings - image bearers of God - are being captured, exploited, and bound as modern-day slaves. The exact numbers are hard to track, often inconsistent, and presumably underreported, yet they are a global reality steadily trending higher at an alarming pace. SOURCE: TIM TEBOW FOUNDATION

VICTIM STORIES When Ted was 10, his mother began dating a new man. This man seemed perfect, supplementing his mother’s income, buying Ted presents, and adding stability to their family. After a few months, however, it became clear he was using Ted’s mother to get closer to Ted. Ultimately, he succeeded in forcing Ted to engage in commercial sex. He coerced Ted by threatening his mother, drugging him, and physically abusing him. Ted only reported his abuse after a failed suicide attempt several years later.

Twenty years later, her family’s debt has grown to more than twice their average annual income, which has left Kim with no option but to put her own 11-year-old son to work at the kiln as well. Kim fears her family will never escape their trafficker.

A recruiter convinced her to leave Nigeria for better opportunities in Ghana. Once she arrived in a major city in Ghana, the recruiter demanded $1,500 for the cost of transportation and turned her over to a madam who used a local fetish priest to perform a ritual that obligated her to repay the debt. The trafficker then forced Patience to engage in commercial sex to repay her so-called debt for her travel to Ghana. Veteran Helping Horses Help Humanity Over eight years ago, Ms. Machacek devoted herself to the care of abandoned and abused farm animals. Becoming an official IRS 501(C)3 Non profit organization, she has expanded her scope to bring together these amazing animals with caring participants. As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, she combines her

leadership skills with the compassion for these animals to enable participating individuals to be in a safe agricultural environment benefiting from the outdoors and fun natural setting. Ms. Machacek is a Sevier County native, who traveled and spent time in various cultures. Her family owned a small local farm and she now

implements a broad world view into each of her farming projects. ETEC is a culmination of many volunteer hands and has the highest respect and regard for individual contribution in a community setting. Teaching and growing character is a life long pursuit for all involved at ETEC Farm.

Programs Offered Rescue Animal Welfare- ETEC is a rescue resource for farm animals and serves as one of the equine centers devoted to the care and rehabilitation of horses, pigs, goats, chickens, and other country critters. Every year, ETEC youth provide the “last chance” for dozens of abused, neglected, and abandoned farm animals who have nowhere else to go. Many of the animals find their forever homes. Humane Education - ETEC gives hundreds of participants a chance to meet our rescued animals and learn the ETEC ABCs – AWARENESS of others, BEING KIND to ourselves and each other, and COMPASSION for all. Each individual will be assigned a specific animal to care for and provide nurturing to during the course. Leadership and Mentoring Program - Due to demand we are offering a leadership and mentoring opportunity for chosen individuals. This is an essay driven application based program that allows those who chose to become farm team leads. The candidates will be involved in the upcoming seasons curriculum choices!! Raised Bed Gardening - Our participants will design and build raised beds for planting the summer flower selection. This is a team based program and all are expected to participate in the planting, maintenance and care of our gardens. Our goal is to provide our animals with nutritious food to supplement their diets. Spring/Fall Planting Schedule - In an outdoor classroom environment we will research viable crops for out upcoming season. Working in a group environment the soil prep and planting of choice vegetable crops will be implemented. Garden Maintenance - We all will commit to weeding, watering and general care of both the flower and vegetable gardens. This is a unifying and bonding process with other participating youth intent on building cooperative skills. Harvesting Schedule - We will task all participants to harvest the crops, allowing them to devise a schedule of how and when the harvest will take place. This will include making provisions for the items harvested by participation in a community farmers market. Farmers Market/Community Giving - Our Farm Teams will work directly with churches, missions and individuals for our produce Give Back Program. This year we will be providing them with an opportunity to develop our own farmers market at the ETEC farm. Building vegetable stalls, advertising, licensing to sale and distribute our produce will be on our agenda.

CARL HURST – Vietnam Veteran In 1969 Carl Hurst became a twenty-year-old U.S. Army Private. Tall and lean, good looking, he had moved around quite a bit looking for jobs. He knew Vietnam was heating up and rather than wait or dodge like so many he knew he made a choice. Carl volunteered for the Army knowing that his draft number was coming up soon anyway. Like most things Carl ever did, he joined on his own terms. His Boot Camp was in Fort Campbell Kentucky, his AIT was served at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Carl was a natural leader, his easy slow mountain manners allowed him to maintain a steady course under pressure. Once he received orders for Vietnam, he suddenly became aware that this adventure was about to change. Carl became an infantry marksman. He had a sharp eye from all the years hunting in the East Tennessee hills of the Great Smoky Mountains and that made him an excellent candidate for becoming a sniper. It was his calm and steady demeanor that served him well in Vietnam. His Sergeant called him Ridge Runner. Carl liked it. There was a trail in the Chu Pa Mountains. The Viet Cong had taken many American lives through the pass. It was a difficult read with the complex topography, valleys and forest that stretched into Cambodia. Ridge Runner knew the stories that were spoken of in camp. Still, he was willing to go into the stretch of pass that needed surveillance. His Sergeant was clear on the instructions, “Ridge Runner do not be a hero. Call in any VC you see. Stay hidden. This one you go alone, and we need the intel.” Carl was afraid, he would be stupid not acknowledge the fear. He made his way in slowly and carefully finding cover on a rise that was overgrown with elephant grass. He waited, but not for long, the sun was slowly rising when the twelve North Vietnamese soldiers entered the pass. On high guard, the twelve men were cautious, but it was a familiar killing spot, and they had a sense of ease about them. They made their way through the stretch never knowing that they came within spitting distance of one lone sniper who was grappling between wanting to take out as many as he could or letting them pass. Not being a hero was more difficult than Ridge Runner had thought it would be. He could see the easy camaraderie of the men, not unlike his own rapport with the men in his unit. Still, looking through the tall grass, he knew given the chance those men would kill him. He remained silent, waiting for them to round a bend about 200 yards away. Once cleared and sure of their distance, he did his job. Calling in their direction, Ridge Runner packed up his rifle and eased around to make his way back to the unit. It took him two days to finally get back, there had been VC everywhere. When he walked back into his unit; he was escorted to his sergeant’s tent. Ridge Runner grinned when the Sergeant stood up saying, “You did a hell of a job. We took them all out.” Carl shook his head, knowing he had followed the advice of this man to not be a hero. Not long after, his unit was tasked to cover a remote province. Thirty-five men from his unit were loaded onto a truck readied for the journey. Carl and his Lieutenant were among the last to get on and ended up on the sideboards. This was a common

mode of troop transport and this was a daily reality for these soldiers. On this fateful day they were being accompanied by a helicopter, doing its job to keep the men safe from harm as they entered a volatile area. Without warning the helicopter took fire and was downed. The huge rotor blade came crashing into the unit of men. In a split second both Ridge Runner and his Lieutenant rolled off the sideboard and under the vehicle. That saved their lives. Once the rotor blade made its landfall, the explosion from what remained of the helicopter rocked the truck. Neither man moved until there was a deafening silence. Rolling from their safety, they were confronted with the carnage of the remaining men. Neither man spoke, they knew more than thirty men were dead. Communicating with their eyes and hands they began to pull the bodies from the wreckage. Ridge Runner and the Lieutenant spent hours gathering bodies and matching them with dog tags and what remained of the men. The sea of blood did not phase either of them until they were joined by a rescue unit. The downed helicopter rotor blade had ended the life of men he had laughed with moments before the crash. When the medic came to check out Carl, he was covered in his friend’s blood from head to foot. It was only then that Carl looked at the wreckage and realized the extent of the damage and the death toll. No one had survived except himself and his officer. Quietly, the two men went down to the river that was within a few hundred yards and began to wash the blood from their own bodies. As his eyes began to clear of its crimson veil, Ridge Runner looked up. Twenty armed American soldiers had formed a perimeter of safety for the two men. Like so many others Carl was exposed to firefight and death daily. No sooner would a good man walk into the camp then another would be sent home in a body bag. Carl received his first Purple Heart saving four men; the helicopter pilot, a medic, and two gunners when their medivac chopper was shot down. All four men were drug from the burning chopper by Ridge Runner who happened to be perched for sniper duty near where the chopper crashed. It was nearly him more than once. It was on a regular patrolling sweep when three soldiers stepped through the thick grass the distinct click of a booby trap echoed. One of the men was Carl, and he knew his foot was weighing down the device. In the moments that followed Ridge Runner made sure the two men with him were safe and devised a way to shift a rock onto the explosive. There was no way to avoid injury. After being thrown 40 feet into a bamboo punji stick that went through his knee joint, Ridge Runner received his second purple heart. Carl brought home the terrors that he saw in that foreign land. He lost men, good men and never really seemed to get rid of the memories. Like many unnamed heroes, Ridge Runner was left in country, when Carl came home. Sometimes he finds a person he trusts, and his wounds will open wide for the world to see. It does not happen often, but a combat vet often gravitates to another combat vet. There is a silence between them, unspoken valor mixed with pain. Carl who is now seventy-three became the hero he never meant to be. Written by: L.K. Machacek

Then he said unto them, “Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 Joy! This word is small and cute. There is something about joy that makes us smile. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Conversely, we could say that without joy we have no strength. I am not talking about physical strength; I am talking about the feelings of pleasure that make us smile or even giggle just a little. The dictionary describes joy as vibrant happiness. Spiritually speaking, joy is the attitude of expressing God’s goodness. David danced before the Lord with all his might, with shouts of joy. Joy brings a sense of purpose and hope, it offers lightheartedness to any situation. The absence of joy is the beginning of anxiety and the eventual fall into depression and desperation. The darkness of night, the sorrows and fears that can so easily overwhelm us in the seasons of testing and sorrow can leave us without the strength to hold on until morning. But God promises that joy comes in the morning. If we let go of our joy we can fall into the trap of negativity, easily being led into a hopelessness that can become all consuming. Be aware of the thief that would steal your joy. Stand firm in your faith in God. List His blessings as a testimony of His goodness, and never allow anyone to steal your joy. Fill yourself with the fat and sweet drink of joyfulness. Don’t be intimidated by the scowls and disapproval of those who have no joy. Instead, let your joy shine on those who are lost in their own pain, hurt, and fear. Share your joy with those for whom nothing has been prepared. Let joy radiate from you, reflecting the presence of Christ in you as the source of all joy. Think About This
