Truckers Against Predators Truckers Against Predators is a network of truck drivers, parents and concerned citizens who advocate for the safety of America’s children every day. They work tirelessly to expose these predators while collaborating with both law enforcement and legislators to influence law and crime standards for child predators. The team monitors social media platforms, chat rooms, websites, games & forums. They are on the lookout for suspicious questions, conversations and connections. These trained adult volunteers act as decoys connecting with suspected criminals, engaging with them in a detailed process and setting a meeting place and time. The police are called on every case. TAP meets the alleged predator and confronts them live on video. The goal is that the exposure and evidence leads to an immediate arrest & public awareness. Truckers Against Predators was founded by Anthony Greene in 2017. Anthony founded TAP because, as a child, he was a victim of child abuse. Anthony saw it as an opportunity to help make a difference in the world.

In fact, some states’ laws dictate that, unless caught in the act, these types of scenarios are deemed “victimless crimes.” Anthony certainly did not agree with that, and neither would most parents. Knowing he could not keep quiet or stand by and do nothing, Anthony got to work and founded TAP. He began seeking out the predators, intercepting them at rendezvous points and exposing them on live video on social media. To date, Anthony is exposing predators almost every day of the week. The police are called ahead of time on every case. Transcripts and video footage are provided to them as evidence. Sometimes the predators are arrested, many times they aren’t. In Arizona, in particular, the city of Yuma Police Department works closely with Anthony and his team to bring justice. It is Anthony’s desire and goal to have great collaborations with every police department. Over the course of the last few years, Anthony has built up a team who help identify and draw out these monsters and expose them for their planned crimes. All of this work is done on personal time and without any compensation. Days, even weeks are spent on just one case to ensure extra caution and proper protocols are in place. Live meetups often last all night once the police are involved.

As a father and truck driver, Anthony Greene drives thousands of miles every month. While on the road, he saw the work of adult predators in truck stops and parking lots in both big cities and small towns across Anthony is active on social media and uses his voice America. After calling the police on multiple occasions to educate parents, influence legislators, support police and receiving little support, Anthony was faced with departments and save children. a dilemma. Many states do not have laws in place that www.truckersagainstpredators.tv adequately protect children from these sick individuals.

Tennessee Human Trafficking BE AWARE

Human Trafficking is modern-day slavery, plain and simple. It happens here. And it has to stop.

Williamson Counties. There are a few primary reasons for this:

Consider the facts:

The first reason is related to transportation and location. Nashville is one of only six U.S. cities where 3 major interstates converge. Additionally, you can reach 75% of the U.S. market within a 2-hour flight time from Nashville, making it a strategic point for movement around the country. Nashville is also in close proximity to Atlanta – a large metropolitan area known for high amounts of human trafficking – and this adds to the transportation of victims throughout the state.

In the United States, on average, every two minutes a child is bought or sold for sex. The average age of a child sold for sex is 13 years old. Human Trafficking is the second-fastest growing criminal industry, just behind Drug Trafficking.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has reported that human trafficking is the second-highest rising crime in the state. This type of exploitation can begin in childhood or adolescence. Despite common The second reason that Nashville is a popular spot for misconceptions, the Polaris Project’s statistics show that human trafficking is its large tourism and sporting the majority of trafficked individuals in the country are industries. Veterans of Foreign Wars It was my honor to interview Gary Laymance, the Commander of VFW Chapter 1733 and his Jr Vice Commander, George Howell. These two gentlemen met with me to share their mission and vision for the veterans of Knox County and surrounding areas. The Veterans of Foreign Wars dates back to 1899 following the SpanishAmerican War and the Philippine Insurrection. The organization was formed to secure benefits for soldiers who have served on foreign soil in hostile conflict or in combat zones to protect the freedoms this country holds sacred. The higher calling in the organization is to remember and respect the sacrifices of those who served and to recognize the toll that service has taken on their physical and mental health. Chapter 1733 was chartered in 1924, and fully incorporated in 1943. In the words of Commander Gary, “this is a place where we can hang out and swap stories.” This particular facility has low ceilings and quiet lighting. It is cool against the summer heat, offering the veterans food and drink along with the fellowship of others who have lived through the horrors of war. Gary did two tours in Korea as part of the forces at Firebase 4P3 in the DMZ. He sits, mostly with his head down, while I can almost see the memories swirling in his brain. He looks up with a slight smile when he speaks of the community services and sharing done by the VFW. VFW organization members speak out at churches and events to inform the public about the needs of veterans of the wars that many have forgotten. There are services provided by the government but

often the red tape required to access these benefits is too much to deal with, so they offer help with this. Gary says a soldier fights the war and then comes home to fight for benefits. A veteran is required to prove that his/her needs are service related. That proof may be hard to come by unless there was an eyewitness willing to help out. Cell phone video is modern technology that wasn’t available in the jungles of Viet Nam. As with any benefits there is always a lack of finance to provide the best services, so fund raising is also a task the members are involved in. In reference to the disrespect of patriotism that seems so prevalent today, Gary and George believe it is a general moral breakdown in society as a whole. They call it a lack of parenting with divine guidance and wisdom. They remember when children had respect. Now it seems the kids feel entitled with rights without responsibility. They speak fondly of the way they were raised, addressing adults with “yes, ma’am” and “no, sir.” They lament the loss of the morning prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance in the schools. It is vital to remember that the freedom we experience as a nation is not free. Thousands have sacrificed to obtain and maintain our freedom. In order to remind the children coming up, the members go into the schools to share the meaning of the American flag and to teach honor, loyalty, and patriotism. Each year the VFW sponsors the National Youth Scholarship program. First prize is a $30,000.00 scholarship. Students submit essays and CDs addressing such topics as “How Can I be a Good American” or “Is This the Country the Founders Envisioned?” The idea is to teach children the ideals and principals of patriotism. For the K-5 kids they offer coloring contests, allowing them to draw and color the American flag while teaching them the importance of the flag. There are 87,000 men and women in the greater Knoxville area who are veterans of foreign wars. The VFW serves the veterans in practical ways providing Meals on Wheels and delivering such items as personal hygiene products, sox and underwear, board games and playing cards to veterans in nursing homes, one in particular in Johnson City. They want these people to know they have not been forgotten. They also provide Honor Guards and place flowers on the graves of veterans on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. According to Gary and George, the men and women continued on page 22

who fought should not be ignored, and it shouldn’t be so difficult to get some help when needed. I asked each of them what they would do if they were King for a Day and could have anything they wanted for the veterans they represent. Jr Vice Commander George said he would gather a team of friends and associates, medical and financial folks, and some platoon sergeants who were present in those hostile fields and combat zones to meet with the soldiers and listen to them, then explain why they are not believed. Commander Gary said he would see to it that the VA took a closer look and “remember what we did for them.” He would give back to the veterans and not make it so hard to get help. Gary says, “You’re a good guy while you fight, then they forget you.” He sees the soldiers returning from Afghanistan now housed in tents. His greatest pain are the homeless vets. The VFW will not forget, they will not give up the fight to provide for the men and women who fought on foreign soil to protect the freedom of America. Considering what is going on today, that fight may take on a distinctly new dimension. May God bless America and hear the voices of those who have fought so diligently to be good stewards of the blessings of freedom that we have all taken for granted. Janeth Emm

What A Mess And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28. Think About This will be short and sweet this month. This world is a mess. I challenge you to read Luke 21, and really think about it. Then, if anything looks familiar to you, decide what action you will take. Those who are prepared will look up with great expectation. They will also pray with urgency for loved ones who refuse to believe. It will be much more comfortable to be accounted worthy and stand before the Son of man escaping all the things that will be coming, than to continue in deliberate ignorance and defiance and meet the antichrist face to face. It may be too late for “If My people…” II Chronicles 7:14. This may be another warning to the church to straighten up and fly right. It may be a reminder that God will not tolerate anyone putting Israel in the crosshairs of evil as it seems our government has done. Whatever it is that we are witness to at this moment, we need to pay attention. God is not happy. Think About This

History in September

September 11, 2001 - The worst terrorist attack in U.S. history occurred as four large passenger jets were hijacked then crashed, killing nearly 3,000 persons. Four separate teams of Mideast terrorists, operating from inside the U.S., boarded the morning flights posing as passengers, then forcibly commandeered the aircraft. Two fully-fueled jumbo jets, American Airlines Flight 11 carrying 92 people and United Airlines Flight 175 carrying 65 people, had departed Boston for Los Angeles. Both jets were diverted by the hijackers to New York City where they were piloted into the twin towers of the World Trade Center. The impact and subsequent fire caused both 110-story towers to collapse, killing 2,752 persons including hundreds of rescue workers and people employed in the towers. In addition, United Airlines Flight

30

93, which had departed Newark for San Francisco, and American Airlines Flight 77, which had departed Dulles (Virginia) for Los Angeles, were hijacked. Flight 77 with 64 people on board was diverted to Washington, D.C., then piloted into the Pentagon building, killing everyone on board and 125 military personnel inside the building. Flight 93 with 44 people on board was also diverted toward Washington but crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to overpower the terrorists on board.

September 13, 1814 - The Battle of Fort Henry in Baltimore Harbor occurred, observed by Francis Scott Key aboard a ship.
