Measurements on our output included our use of electricity, heat, staff commuting, and waste at all locations. The data we collected will then be used to look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. It’s a win-win for everyone as there are numerous benefits to joining this program. By tracking our carbon emissions and finding ways to reduce our impact on the environment, we can also cut costs and gain savings, which benefits everyone including our members. Participants enjoyed a variety of exciting and challenging activities on and off the course, with foursome Sukhi Sandhu, Bob Mander, Gurinder Toor and Charanjit Mathura winning the Team Low Gross Award. Other winners include Floyd Yamamoto for Straightest Drive, Vic Benetton and Ranjit Sandhu for Men’s and Ladies’ Longest Drives and Rob Brimacombe and Janine Wilson for Mens and Ladies Closest to the Pin. The winning tickets for our charity raffle were also drawn at the end of the evening. Congratulations to J. Minhas, winner of the 51” Samsung 3D Plasma TV, Louise McIntosh, winner of the 16GB iPad, and Gerard Tan, winner of the Panasonic High Definition Camcorder. For the third consecutive year, tournament proceeds benefited SOS Children’s Village BC, a local organization dedicated to supporting foster children and their families. Since our partnership began with SOS, we have managed to raise in excess of $89,000 for the charity in developing community-based care programs for children in need. We would like to sincerely thank the sponsors, participants, volunteers, and members for making this charity tournament and raffle a great success.
