General plan with urban intervention | AFTER
D escriptive M emory The project for the new headquarters for the Circle of Plastic Arts of Coimbra (CPAC) and Museum, is placed between FernĂŁo de MagalhĂŁes Avenue and the Mondego river. The volume emerges from two empty spaces, two plazas, that create a dynamic space, which holds the function of a reception area or an exterior foyer. Also, it works has a meeting point or a leisure area. The ground floor is divided in two volumes that do not touch each other: one, facing the Avenue, contains the functions related to public areas and its visitors: lobby, reception, educative centre, etc.; the other, located on the opposite side, works has an exit volume, with a privileged view towards the Mondego river, where you can also find a shop. On this floor, there is also the private and restricted areas, such as the administration and offices. The museum space is a continuous promenade, from the ground floor to the first floor, containing a middle level with a double-high. Through a loop of ramps, the visitors wander the space and the museum, starting in one side of the building and finishing on the other side. There is also a third volume that emerges from the Northwest, containing also public programme: a cafeteria and an auditorium. This volume works as an independent element from the rest of the CPAC building, which allows its visitors to acess both spaces without interfering with the museological programme. All spaces with a more playful character and dedicated to study and leisure activities are facing the riverside, in order to contemplate the fantastic views towards the Mondego.

Project Type: Architecture Purpose: Collective Housing for 21 familipes, development of several typologies (T1,T2,T3,T4,T5) Date: 2015-2016, 3rd year of bachelor degree

D escriptive M emory This project consists in designing a collective housing for twenty-one families. The collective housing is located on a hillside and it develops in three equal blocks, each containing seven apartments. The buildings are nearly excavated on the ground floor, where a new street goes under, containing also several galleries along the way. The three blocks are supported by pilotis that, not only work as a structural wall through the whole building, but also to serve as
aesthetics
and
functional
element.
This
permeability
also
allows to create some tension moments along the promenade. Concerning
the
typologies
of
the
apartments,

vertically, creating a duplex’s system, fitted into to each other like a tetris puzzle. This metric system was inspired in the module created by Le Corbusier in the Unité d’Habitation of Marselha, which I quite
tried to recreate to allow double height levels and interesting
relations
between
the
different
spaces.
The south façade of the main blocks is coated by glass, to allow the maximum and direct sunlight into the apartments, where it is located the central part of the houses, such as living rooms and dining rooms. The several floors of the building go back and forward, creating spaces that give room to big balconies with a predominant and privileged view over the downtown of Coimbra and all the panorama on the riverside of Mondego.

Project Type: Architecture Purpose: Rehabilitation of the old sugar fabric in San Isidro Creation of a ludic and cultural space for Granada. your senses
D escriptive M emory This proposal for the project to revitalize the former industrial building of San Isidro, aims to intervene in the least intrusive way possible in the arquitectural patrimony and, simultaneously adapt the pre-existing space to the requirements of the new programme that is intended to implement. As such, at the level of implementation and in order to ensure the success of this playful and cultural space, it is proposed only the readjustment of the main access to the complex and the inclusion of a public parking adjacent to it. Assuming the intention to create six different zones the concept for the ludic area proposed is based on the number six: the human being has five different senses, some more accurate, sensitive and trained than others, but all of them are essential so that each individual is a unique being in the world. As such, the main goal of the set of games presented is to test the senses of the human being, being the last game a challenge to all of them. The different games are developed within volumes designed independently from the pre-existing structure, allowing all of them to be accessible in an independent and isolated way. The main access body takes advantage of a pre-existing cavity in the different slabs and allows direct access to any of the different levels, thus ensuring the flexibility of play. For more adventurous visitors it is possible to access the different levels through a climbing wall, placed in one of the extreme points of the intervention area.
