Christopher Webb Vic 1953 Jaguar XK120 DHC 3400 Red

Built in England during May 1984 this car was imported to the United States by Royale UK & USA owner Hubert Kleinpeter, which he extensively raced as a Royale USA factory car from June 84 to March 85 his lowest placing was 2nd. Kleinpeter ordered the RP37 chassis #011 material to be constructed in Bs L72 (2014-T4 U.S. equivalent) aluminium, Bs L72 material is more expensive and harder to work with and requires larger radius on the folds or it will crack; it is stronger and lighter than NS4 aluminium. So that the car stood out in the field of around twenty and twenty-five S2000 cars, Kleinpeter had the car body painted in Grass Green, which is similar color to John Deere farm machinery, thus the car was known amongst the field (competition) as the John Deere tractor, as it was the only green color sports 2000 in the SE Division at that time. Second owner was Dennis Greene of Gainesville, GA. Third owner was Harry O, “Scott” Evers from Dallas, TX. Fourth was Sterling Robertson of Abilene, Texas. Fifth owner Norman Scott of Dacula, Georgia First place in American Road Race of Champions held at Road Atlanta in 2002. Trevor Ross present owner of Victoria Australia, purchased the car from Norman Scott on 8th August 2008, While waiting to be shipped to Australia, Car was parked in a large warehouse, surrounded by the cars used in the movie Fast and Furious. Shipped from the port of Savannah, Georgia on 8th October 2008, and finally arriving in the port of Melbourne, on 8th December 2008.

Driver Profile: Trevor Ross This is the only race car I have owned - It a real joy to drive. With sustained cornering and brake loadings near 2g’s and the relative safety of the aluminium or tube-framed chassis structure, these cars are roomy and very competent! They’re classic in their appearance to the great sports racers of the day. A well-tuned Pinto motor output is approximately 145 – 150 hp, at 7000 rpm, coupled with a low center of gravity, light weight, slicks and efficient aerodynamics will generate lap speeds in the mid 210 km / hr range. What’s even more remarkable is how equal all of the chassis are in terms of performance potential, making Sports 2000 a real “driver’s class”. What ever your experience or motivation, you’ll be able to find someone to race with. A quick lap time is all about good technique and maintaining momentum through corners, Aluminium monocoque chassis, glued and riveted together like an airplane fuselage, Sports 2000 cars are “mini Can-Am cars” in construction and very nearly in performance!
