Oprah Winfrey’s New Series on OWN Ms. “O” has developed a series of shows that aim to show people that they have the power within to become whatever their hearts desire.

to receive her Master’s Degree and her Doctorate Degree. She achieved everything she dreamed. During the process she actually remarried.

Some of her series include The Life Class (which rapped up its first season in November). This particular series took powerful clips from some of her memorable shows that featured guests who came from seemingly hopeless circumstances but through faith and persistence went on to be victorious.

Later Oprah invited her on the show to a surprise reveal when Oprah donated $1.5 million dollars to build Tererai’s dream school in Tererai’s hometown in Zimbabwe, Africa.

The season finale of Life Class featured an African woman, Tererai, whose father did not believe in girls being educated. She begged her father to allow her to go to school like her brother. He refused. She taught herself how to read as a result of studying her brother’s homework. When her father found out about it he beat her and married her off at 11 years old. She said that her husband would beat her everyday. One day a lady from a mercenary organization, who was helping her village, told her that she could be anything that she wanted to be. Her mother told her that she should write down her dreams on a sheet of paper and bury them in the ground and that one day her dreams would come true. She did what she was instructed to do. For 2 decades she held to her belief. Years later her husband moved her and their children to the U.S. Moving to the U.S. was one of the things on her list. While in America she earned her Bachelors Degree. Then, she went on

Another series Oprah created for OWN is called Visionaries. This series featured celebrities who came from humble beginnings but who achieved prenominal success. Some of the visionaries featured include: Tyler Perry, Tom Ford, and Wil.i.Am. (See clips on Oprah.com/OWN. Her upcoming series is called Master Class. This series will feature celebrities and other well known persons such as Jay Z, Condoleezza Rice and Maya Angelo. Oprah says that over the years many of her guest have realized that they have the power to create the life they want. She says that your job in life is to recognize that power and use it. “You have always had the power” says Oprah.

The Rosie O’Donnell Show on OWN is a big hit. Oprah made a personal request to Rosie to join the OWN Network. She even gave Rosie her studio where Oprah produced her show for 25 years. In fact, when you see the Harpo sign in front of Oprah’s production company, you will see that The Oprah Show has been removed and replaced with The Rosie O’Donnell Show. Rosie has had mega stars on her show such as Mariah Carrey (featured above). While on the show, Mariah revealed that she gained 70 pounds during her pregnancy. One of the reasons she gained so much weight is because of a condition called edema which effects many women during their pregnancies. While on the show Mariah credits her weight loss to loosing 40 lbs. of water weight during the first week after giving birth and 30 lbs as a result of her Jennie Craig diet. She is now a spokes person for the company. Mariah’s Twins: Monore (left –girl) Morrocan (right– boy)

When Wanda Sykes walked onto to the set of Rosie’s talk show, she stopped to look under the chair before she sat down. She said that she was looking under the chair to see if Oprah was hiding a car under there. (referring to Oprah’s big surprise give-a-way shows). Wanda talked to Rosie about her 2 year-old twins. She tells Rosie that “having the twins is like hiring an interior designer to come in and mess your house up”…”The kids walk up and knock things on the floor as if they are saying ‘well that should be on the ground…I need crayon on the wall over here”. Common, considered as a conscious rapper, has also appeared on the show. He talked about a new movie he appeared in starring Queen Latifa. He also talked about his love for his mother.
