Most people think that writing is a solitary activity meant to be done by the individual and the individual alone. Despite this common misconception, writing is best done in a community of other writers, of people who are looking to improve themselves and their skills in this craft. Campers who are interested can be any level of proficiency, but should be prepared to write and share their writing with their peers. Let’s improve our writing and ourselves as a community!

Digital Filmmaking (Grades 5-8) Educator: Ted Strickland

Full Credit Summer Course Conceptual Physics (Rising Grades 10-12)

Discover filmmaking through various mediums. Campers will watch movies and discuss character development to aid in creating characters for their own films, which will be made with digital camcorders and iMovie. Films made during this workshop will be available for viewing on a private YouTube channel. Each week will include a field trip to a movie theatre to watch a current release film.

This course focuses on concepts and applications of physics. The students will gain a great understanding of the laws of physics that surround them. Students will develop an understanding of the concepts underlying the phenomena of motion, force, energy, matter, sound, electricity, and light. Students will explore these concepts through laboratory exercises, in class activities, presentations and lecture. Since this is a full credit science course, students should expect to have a minimum an hour of homework each evening.
