Tesseract Parents Association

The Tesseract Parents Association needs you! We invite you to become involved in any of the activities the TPA sponsors. This is a great way to get to know the parents and teachers in the Tesseract community.

Committees and Events

The Tesseract Parents Association is open to all. The Tesseract Parents Association (TPA) provides opportunities for parents, teachers, and administrators to work together to enrich the learning environment at Tesseract. The goal of the TPA is to support the school’s mission by: • Communicating openly and effectively with all Tesseract parents • Cultivating close relationships between Tesseract, parents and members of our community

Beautification CommitteeShea Campus Work together to create and implement ideas to improve the aesthetic appeal of the Shea campus. Beautification CommitteeDoubletree Campus Use your green thumb to grow the Lower School garden. Volunteers will work with teachers and children creating a theme, purchasing garden tools and helping young students harvest their crop.

• Assisting parents with their orientation to the school • Encouraging parent participation in school activities • Representing the parent community as its liaison for both campuses Your level of participation is predicated on the amount of time you can spare. If you would like to chair a committee, support a group that interests you, or simply participate with our Volunteer on the Run group, your participation is appreciated. The TPA will hold three Open Meetings throughout the year that will be open to all Tesseract parents. There will be an Open Meeting in the first and second semesters, and the Annual Meeting in May.

Classroom Representatives Classroom representatives assist Tesseract educators in their classrooms serving as communication liaisons between class parents, educators, TPA, and the school. Community Relations Committee Supporting school events, such as Back to School Night and open houses, is an integral function for the TPA Community Relations Committee. Mentoring new families and working with Tesseract's Admissions and Communications departments can also serve as important functions for this committee.

Cultural Enrichment Committee

Library Committee

Tesseract Spring Gala

Bringing a diverse array of local and worldwide artists, authors, musicians, performers, and speakers to Tesseract ties into Tesseract’s mission and is supported by the Cultural Enrichment Committee. These series inspire and enrich the cultural experiences of our students and parents while adding depth to the classrooms. This committee works with educators to support curricula, coordinate the requests of our guests and identify additional guests for the school. Volunteers also assist the schools Communications and Marketing Office to publicize these events with parents and in the community.

Assist the Tesseract Librarian by encouraging volunteers on both campuses. Coordinating book donations through the school's Wish List programs, including Book Fairs, to raise money is essential to the development of the Library Committee.

Volunteers work with the Gala Chair and Director of Development to help organize Tesseract’s annual fundraising event. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with other Tesseract parents, share your talents and create a special event for Tesseract families and school.

Dads On Campus

Performing Arts Boosters

Create and support events and activities geared to our Tesseract dads.

Support Hearts for the Arts, a renowned event at Tesseract where current and past students dance, sing and act with school employees. Volunteers work with Terri Scullin, Tesseract’s music/drama educator, to arrange details about the performances.

Faculty & Staff Appreciation Volunteers will work to create and support events to show appreciation for Tesseract educators and staff members.

Lunch Hour Helpers Help supervise Kindergarten through grade 4 lunch times as a Lunch Hour volunteer. Additionally, guide Tesseract students to make appropriate food choices, maintain good eating habits and assist children with opening food packages for approximately an hour.

Visual Arts Committee Assist Tesseract art educators with special projects, student art displays, and with uploading student art onto a web-based gallery. Volunteer on the Run The perfect group for someone wanting to be involved, but with limited amounts of time. Whenever a committee needs volunteers for an event, you will have the option to participate depending on your availability. Decide what works for you when you have extra time to dedicate to the Tesseract community.

Sports Boosters Fall Family Festival Create an event that brings the Tesseract community together for a day of fun, food and great memories.

Volunteers support Tesseract’s after-school interscholastic sports programs and Tesseract athletes. Providing concessions during games and assisting with the planning of the Sports Award Banquet are functions of this committee.

Your annual dues make TPA events and activities possible. Every member of the Tesseract community benefits from TPA dues. So please help and “Join In.” Dues are $85 for families with one child and $150 for families with multiple children. Your school account will be billed directly for your TPA dues.
