Our proud local history stretches back five generations to the day in 1920 when my then 20-year-old grandfather, Josef Jakicevich, stepped off the boat from Croatia with little English, and pretty much nothing in his pockets except a healthy dose of optimism combined with a steely determination to succeed and a taste for hard work.
