The Control Post of the P-18T/TRS-2D Radar
When the P-18T/TRS-2D Radar is emplaced at the position, the distance between the Antenna Post and Control Post is up to 100 m.
AUTOMATED WORK STATION The automated work station (AWS) is designed to display the aerial situation, the technical status of the radar and its main systems, as well as to control operation modes of the radar and the land-based radio interrogator and mobile radio altimeter interfaced with the radar. All the processes of signal processing, target detection and information output are performed fully automatically (without the operator’s participation). The P-18T/TRS-2D Radar AWS comprises: • system module; • 19” flat TFT monitor • keyboard with a manipulator • console to control radar operation modes • console to control modes of interfaced land-based radio interrogator and mobile radio altimeter • phone and loudspeaker communication consol • signaling display panel The P-18T/TRS-2D Radar comprises two AWS: the operator’s AWS-1 and the radar commander’s AWS-2. The AWSs are structurally identical which allows for interchanging their assemblies; they share similar software. The radar commander’s AWS can be removed to the stationary (mobile) command post and aviation guidance post. The removed AWS provides remote control of the P-18T/TRS-2D Radar. The distance of the AWS from the radar is governed by the communication channel. The P-18T/TRS-2D Radar can support data communications protocol whose description will be provided by the Customer. The P-18T/TRS-2D Radar can be interfaced with any type of the radio interrogator (“friend or foe”).
The Radars’ AWS ensures displaying the following data on the monitor: • trajectory information on the tracked air objectives and video information received from the radar detector within the range of radar operation • information about the prehistory of the air objective flight or about the location of the aerial asset extrapolated forward in the direction of its flight (from 1 up to 5 min.) • other special information on radar targets, radar mode and control • information from interlinked mobile radio altimeter, land-based radio interrogator

The GRYPHON Radar
DESIGNATION The GRYPHON Radar is designed for detection, tracking and coordinate measuring (range and azimuth) of all types of modern and prospective aerial assets (air objectives) within the entire range of altitudes, under the conditions of all types of radio frequency interference.
COMPOSITION OF THE GRYPHON RADAR The GRYPHON Radar is composed of: • the P-18T/TRS-2D Antenna Post (meter band) • the P-19T/TRS-2DL Antenna Post (decimeter band) • the Common Control Post
The GRYPHON Radar Common Control Post is unified with the P-18T/TRS-2D and the P-19T/TRS-2DL Radar Control Posts. The GRYPHON Radar Common Control Post controls two Antenna Posts simultaneously. The GRYPHON Radar Common Control Post comprises two AWS: the operator’s AWS-1 and the radar commander’s AWS-2. Information received from the P-18T/TRS-2D and the P-19T/TRS-2DL Radar Antenna Posts may be output to the displays of the AWS-1 and AWS-2 or be jointly displayed on the screen of any AWS. All the processes of signal processing, target detection and information output are performed fully automatically (without the operator’s participation). One of the variants of emplacement of the GRYPHON Radar is shown in the picture.

THE P-18T/TRS-2D AND P-19T/TRS-2DL RADARS FEATURES High jamming immunity The P-18T/TRS-2D and P-19T/TRS-2DL Radars incorporate a package of hardware and software assets for radar immunity against the following types of jamming: • active noise jamming • repeater-pulse jamming • nonsynchronous and random pulse jamming The high jamming immunity is ensured by: • automatic monitoring of the jamming situation and automatic adaptive tuning of the radar’s operating frequency • wide dynamic range of the signal processing system (the receiver and signal digital processing unit) • signal adaptive algorithmic treatment High survivability The P-18T/TRS-2D and P-19T/TRS-2DL Radars protection against antiradar missiles is enabled by: • complex signals with low pulse power and noiselike wobble which impedes radar lock-on by ARM seekers • discontinuance of radar radiation in the assigned sector, radiation cycle modes and wobble activation of the transmitting device
Electromagnetic compatibility The P-18T/TRS-2D and P-19T/TRS-2DL Radars electromagnetic compatibility with other systems is enabled by automatic frequency tuning in the radar waveband and the lowest possible level of the radar’s own out-of-band radiation. High performance reliability The P-18T/TRS-2D and P-19T/TRS-2DL Radars feature a complete internal diagnosis and technical status indication with detailing down to a replacement unit or module and in case of the transmitter – down to a single transistor. The radar equipment is constructed using a modular configuration and features manufacturability, accessibility and ease of maintenance. Provision is made for module replacement of the faulty units. The fault repair time does not exceed 30 min., the mean time between failures is over 3500 hours. The P-18T/TRS-2D and P-19T/TRS-2DL Radars use the 50 Hz power supply frequency. It is also possible to provide electric power supply from the industrial mains.
