PORCELAIN FORMS ARE DIPPED IN THE GLAZE BATH AT THE ROSENTHAL FACTORY IN ROTHBÜHL BY HAND TO PRODUCE ABSOLUTELY EVEN SURFACES.
The “Berker Serie 1930 Porzellan made by Rosenthal” brings together two companies which, despite their entirely different histories, are nevertheless astonishingly similar in some ways. Both have for decades been pursuing an absolutely uncompromising product and design philosophy. Despite their size, both have remained true to manual craftsmanship, because there is a certain quality that can only be achieved by hand. And both Berker and Rosenthal have won numerous design awards over the years.

It was thus only a matter of time before the two companies would initiate a joint project, the “Berker Serie 1930 Porzellan made by Rosenthal”. The model for this classic rotary switch is the Bauhaus switch from the 1930s, which Berker had already reissued in 1999 in a plastic edition, and which can now be found, among other places, in the Dessau Bauhaus since it has been renovated true to its original state. The “Berker Serie 1930 Porzellan made by Rosenthal” stands for a genuine return to the roots of this classic design: The original from the Bauhaus era was also made of porcelain. So in a way, each of these porcelain gems also represents a tangible piece of design history.

A WELL-ROUNDED CONCEPT
From the stylistic point of view, Berker’s “Glasserie” is a true contemporary of the “Berker Serie 1930”. They both provide a harmonious complement to either renovated older buildings or timelessly modern living concepts. Thanks to their transparent glass surfaces, they leave wallpapers, wall coverings, and structures almost entirely visible. A selection of rotary toggles is likewise available.
