he Texas Country French home design emanates primarily from Country French or Chateau that is transposed by the use of rustic

TYPICAL FEATURES

Texas elements. These elements might include

metal roofs, stone/stucco veneers, and wood

or stone columns. A Hip roof is used. It could

have a few accent gables, but when you look at the house, you predominantly see Hip. The

roof pitch is usually a moderate 7/12 or 8/12. Saw cut stone or wood lintels often accent these homes. Broken arch windows and doors, as opposed to the (Spanish style) full arch are regularly featured. Broken arch shapes between porch columns and major accent openings are a smooth detail present in this style.

GA R D E N H O M E Garden Home is a single-family unit sited on a building lot that is typically not much larger than the building foundation. A garden home will, in addition to fitting on a b u i l d i n g f o o t p r i n t of 5 0 f e e t o r less, have three or more bedrooms, kitchen, garage and , naturally, bathrooms. In order for a small building lot to provide usable yard space, one side of the home is placed as close to the property line as possible. This placement typically allows marginal space between two homes on adjacent lots. Therefore, there are sometimes no windows on the side of the home closest to the property line. In the c a s e o f Z e r o Lo t L i n e de v e l o p m e n t , n o w i n d o w s w i l l e x i s t on t h e s i d e which is placed on the property line.
