Established over 30 years ago, Kayospruce now occupies a 20,000 square ft warehouse along with a team of 30 dedicated staff and continues to soar with the intention to grow even further. Priding ourselves with the in-house customer service and sales team, who hold a wealth of information about product ranges, technical specifications, and enquiry recommendations, Kayospruce is highly desired for most projects.

Agora® uses 100% solution-dyed acrylic fibre throughout its range. Their fabrics are made to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, incorporating multiple qualities and treatments to cope with the most demanding environments and ensuring excellent performance.

In Agora® Life fabrics, the yarn is also dyed to the core, conferring an excellent colour fastness and exceptional behaviour in outdoor conditions. Agora® Life's recycling consists in taking the production left-ovens and second quality fabrics and sorting them out by colour. Once separated, this waste is grinded to obtain the recycled fiber that is later blended with a virgin one. Finally, the new recycled thread is spinned and woven into an Agora® Life fabric.

Thread

Thread is the most important part of putting together any item alongside the correct fabric selection. Thread is available in a range of materials, finishes and sizing and if you are changing thread or manufacturers it can be quite confusing.

The most common thread material is bonded polyester and this is the most common upholstery thread you will find for upholstery. They are UV resistant and some options include an anti-wick treatment which means that it keeps the water from wicking down the thread and into the needle hole.

We offer a range of options in our webbing, from cost effective polypropelene for general use in the upholstery industry and even edging where low load applications are used. Polypropelene webbing is available in either a hard or soft weave finish.

We also stock polyester webbing suitable for higher load applications.

All options are available in a range of widths and colours, and are sold by the roll which is generally 50m, if a load rating is applied to a product it will show alongside the code.

Hook and Loop or Velcro? Hook and loop is just a generic term that refers to the famous fastening just made by someone else, we offer both alternatives as we believe each has its merits and is correct in differing situations.

Generic Hook and Loop tends to have a higher grab initially but this does mean it wears out quicker, so this is recommended where a high level of opening and closing is likely to happen, however this reduction in performance takes place over a long time and offers fantastic value for money.

Whichever variant you decide on they are both available in Sew on and Adhesive with the adhesive also being available for PVC or general adhesion.

Understanding Zipping:

We stock two types of zip either Moulded or Coil (Spiral) both are available in different styles, colours and finishes to provide a solution for your application. On both options all teeth are formed onto a polyester tape with some UV inhibitors applied, although if left in direct sunlight the teeth and zip tape may discolour.

Coil Zipping:

Coil or Spiral zipping is available in Number 3, Number 5 and Number 10 sizing. Coil zipping would be preferred in Upholstery or areas of tight radius, the spiral zips tends to form around corners easier than the moulded plastic. Coil zipping is also designed with a waterresistant coating and is available in 7 colours.

Both options are available in Continuous or open ended options.

Use No. 5 or No. 10 Coil Zip for Bags, Cushions and Tight Corners.

Use No. 5 or No. 10 Moulded Plastic for Marine Bags and Cushions.

Moulded Zipping:

Moulded zips are Polyacetal teeth on Polyester tape with two sizes, number 5 (6mm) and Number 10 (8.6mm) available.

Use number 5 for smaller lighter applications, bags, cushions and attachments, upgrade to number 10 where higher strength is required.

Continuous is supplied by the metre up to 100m rolls, this is usable where the zip isn’t required to separate completely and can be supplied with a range of puller options.

Open Ended is whereby both parts of the tape are able to be separated completely such as found on a coat jacket zip. This is required where panels need to be separated and reattached. Open ended zips come supplied as standard with a double metal puller, and are currently sold in a variety of lengths from 1” (30cm) up to 60ft (18.28m)

Open Ended zips can be cut down to size at the top end utilising one of the many zip stop options to finish the zipper as required.

Use No. 10 Moulded Plastic for general canopy, cover and marquee work.

Use No. 15 Moulded Plastic for greater strength.

Assembly instructions for stoppers

Plastic Top Stops for moulded zipper: Place top stop on zipper’s tooth with opening facing you, snap in and twist.

Ring Top Stop for moulded zipper: Place the ring Top Stop on the zipper tooth, tighten with pliers until the stop is snapped into the zipper’s tooth.

Standard Top Stop for moulded zipper: Place stopper above the first tooth, tighten with pliers until stopper catches into the zipper’s tape.

Butterfly Bottom Stop for moulded zipper: Insert stopper between the zipper’s tapes right under the last zipper teeth and tighten with pliers.

Prong Bottom Stop for moulded zipper: Place the stopper tips on both zipper tapes right under last zipper teeth, push stopper until its tips penetrate the zipper tapes, tighten with pliers.

Standard Prong Bottom Stop for coil zipper: Same as for moulded zipper.

Standard Top Stop for coil zipper: Place stopper on zipper tapes right above the first zipper teeth, tighten stopper with pliers into the zipper tape.

Preparation

Take off covering. Remove any powdered foam using cleaning wheel. Clean surface with solvent cleaner – GLU901. Once process is complete see general application.

General Application Contact Adhesive

Apply even coat to both surfaces using spreader. Ensure adhesive is fully touch dry. Bring surfaces together. Ensure no air between surfaces. Once surfaces are laid, apply even pressure all over using a hard block or roller.

All surfaces need to be dry and dust free.

DO NOT use adhesive in temperature less than 10 degrees centigrade.

Damp or damaged surfaces should be replaced. Ensure all areas are well ventilated when applying solvent based products.

Do not use near naked flames.

Aerosol Spray Adhesive

Surface preparation as described previously. Apply evenly from left to right a coat of adhesive spray to one side, on the second substrate apply an even coat top to bottom.

Leave adhesive to dry 4-5 minutes or until tacky to touch. Bring surfaces together. Ensure no air between the surfaces. Apply even pressure using block or roller.

Water Based Pressure Sensitive Adhesive

Surface preparation as before. Apply even coat using paint roller to solid surface wood or fibreglass.

Leave to completely dry, adhesive will look clear and tacky to touch.

Once dry apply fabric.

Fabric may be repositioned to final dressing.

The adhesives that we sell are regularly in use and well proven in the textile industry. However, we cannot be held responsible for damage to your materials if the adhesive system does not work. It is your responsibility to choose the correct product for your requirement.

Warranty

The Agora warranty covers abnormal fabric damage due to fading or resistance loss under normal conditions of exposure, including sun, mould, rot, and chemicals in the atmosphere in general, provided the fabric has been correctly installed, used, and maintained. The installation work of the distributor is not covered by the warranty. The warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, accidental burns, negligence, or piercing. Waterproof and FR treatments: Recommended for cushions and upholstery only. Make sure the laminated side is on the inside and do not expose it to the sun or to poor weather.

Agora® fabrics can be washed simply with water in most cases but remember that the most stubborn dirt can be removed with common household cleaning products, including bleach. Fast drying and wrinkle resistant, our fabrics will look like new for years.

The ACRISOL warranty covers an abnormal deterioration of the fibre due to the loss of colour or resistance whenever there are normal exposure conditions, including sun, mould, rot, and atmospheric agents in general, and if the fibre has been installed, used, and maintained correctly. The guarantee does not cover the installation work of the distributor, it only replaces the affected tissue footage. The warranty also does not cover, in any case, the deterioration due to abusive use, accidental burns, negligence or perforation.

The 5-year limited warranty makes Sunbrella the only performance fabric brand to guarantee against becoming unserviceable due to: • Loss of colour • Loss of strength

• Abrasion • Pilling from normal usage and exposure conditions, including sunlight, mildew, and atmospheric chemicals when used for appropriate applications.

Limitations and Exclusions applicable to its warranty:

• Damage caused by the exposure of the product to improper applications.

• Staining resulting from clothing dyes and/or external contaminants.

• Staining due to contact with suntan lotion, teak oil,

• Deficiencies caused by negligence, abuse, misuse, (engine) grease or similar contaminants.

• Improper storage or handling.

• Improper care and cleaning according to defined guidelines.

• Transformation and or installation processes performed inadequately.

• Exposure to harmful chemicals.

• Material that has been repaired, refurbished, conditioned, or modified.

• Deterioration due to the use of incompatible or unspecified adhesives or adjacent components.

• Except as specifically set forth in our provisions regarding Pink Stain: Staining resulting from the growth of organisms in adjacent boat components (commonly referred to as “pink stain”) *

• Previously approved commercially acceptable colour variations which are not lot controlled.

• Damage or problems caused by accidents, natural catastrophes, or any other external causes unrelated to the product’s performance in normal use.

• When the information and / or evidence that supports the claim is not provided by the buyer.

BATYLINE materials are covered by the warranty against any premature degradation of their essential characteristics, referred to hereunder, subject to normal indoor or outdoor usage:

• Breaking strength of at least 65% of the original strength quoted on the datasheet

• Colour fade

• Conservation of flexibility characteristics

2. Spray on a cleaning solution of water and mild soap.

3. Use a soft bristle brush to clean.

4. Allow cleaning solution to soak into the fabric.

5. Rinse thoroughly until all soap residue is removed.

6. Air dry.

Spradling recommends cleaning at least once a week to extend the lifes pan of the upholstery, preventing dirt and contamination from building up and stains from becoming permanent.

Clean the whole surface in circular motions using liquid hand soap and water (1 part soap to 9 parts water), or check the Spradling guide for recommended cleaning products.

Rinse and wipe with a clean damp white cloth to get rid of any excess soap. Repeat as needed and then let dry.

Once a month, you can use a soft-bristle brush for a deeper cleaning. Remember, light colours need more care, more often.

Nautolex will not exhibit defects in materials or workmanship, when used under normal conditions, in marine upholstery applications. If Product fails to conform to this Limited Warranty, then OMNOVA will provide replacement Product to you, free of charge, and if such failure occurs within two (2) years from the date of purchase, then OMNOVA will also issue a credit memo to cover your documented out-of-pocket labor costs incurred to re-upholster the end use product, but not exceed forty dollars ($40) per linear yard for each linear yard of Product replaced. This Warranty extends only to the original boat manufacturer and is not transferable.

This Limited Warranty does not cover issues arising from: (a) pink staining; (b) degradation resulting from interaction with other components of an upholstered product; (c) damage caused by post sale application of coatings, conditioners or other surface treatments; (d) improper installation or structural failure of the upholstered product; (e) damage caused by accidents, misuse, abuse or vandalism; (f) deterioration caused by exposure to harsh or abnormal environmental conditions; or (g) deterioration due to exposure to cleaners or methods of cleaning which do not comply with OMNOVA’s standard care and cleaning instructions as set forth at https://www.omnova.com/en/products/coated-fabrics/nautolex.

The warranty stands for a period of 5 years as long as the customer has complied with the cleaning guidelines stated on the Ecosuede and Buccara Tweed datasheets. Please request these from Kayospruce.

– Let it stand for 1 more min

– Flush with water and avoid leaving residue on the fabric

– Wipe with a dry cloth

– Spray Cleaner 500 (Serge Ferrari) on the surface

– Let the cleaning solvent sit for 2-3 mins

– Use soft bristle brush and brush in circular motion (do not rub back wards and forwards)

– Let it stand for 1 more min

– Remove the cleaner with a damp sponge

– Wipe with a dry cloth

Clean the whole surface in circular motions using liquid hand soap and water (1 part soap to 9 parts water).

Rinse and wipe with a clean damp white cloth to get rid of any excess soap. Repeat as needed and then let dry.

Once a month, you can use a soft-bristle brush for a deeper cleaning. Remember, light colours need more care, more often.

Hand clean with lukewarm water or machine wash at 30º and neutral PH soap without centrifuging. Do not use dryer. To eliminate water, use a towel or a hair drier at mid temperature.

• Eliminate the dirt by gently brushing or vacuuming the fabric.

• Occasionally use a water and soft soap solution to clean the fabric (max. 30ºC). ·Apply to the fabric and then rinse with running water

• Let the fabric dry completely.

• Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents.
