Dave Mason brings Traffic jam to Kauai
R
ock and roll hall of famer Dave Mason is coming to Kauai next Friday for an evening of rock music time travel. Kicking off the set with an ode to his early days, Mason will play high notes from the first two albums released by Traffic, the psychedelic English rock group he co-founded in with Steve Winwood when they were teenagers. small television is located above the bar. “I think we’re a space on island that offers the most variety of premium spirits of Cognac, Scotch, Bourbon, all the different spirits and we’re also adding on some sake and soju,” said beverage manager Michael Hutton. “The chefs put together a great saki menu and we’re also having some fun making some Asian inspired and local cocktails.” Stevenson’s Library features a dozen different games including pool, chess and backgammon in addition to live music featuring the sounds of Indie
pop, Jazz and Hawaiian. “Everybody that comes is just looking to have a good time,” Hartman said. “Live music, great food, great drinks, great staff, great bartenders.” Stevenson’s Library is at 1571 Poipu Road, Koloa and is open from 5:30 p.m. until midnight daily with the sushi bar opened nightly from 5:30 until 9:30. Live entertainment plays from 8 until 11 p.m. and minors are permitted from 6 until 9 p.m. “It’s truly authentic hospitality that we serve here at the Hyatt,” Ledee said. “Everybody’s real.”

ree ice cream from Skinny Mike’s and free trolley rides highlighted the Customer Appreciation Day at the Harbor Mall Shopping Center on Saturday. Skinny Mike’s opened two weeks ago and features ice cream made on the Big Island, said Mike Scherer. The shop also features Made in Hawaii beverages as well as in-house sauces and baked cones. “They’ve been really busy
since opening,â€? said Janet Miller, a trolley tour driver. “They actually ran out of ice cream and had to get more.â€? Twisted Turtles Yarn also moved from its upstairs location to the ground level in the last two weeks, said Shawna Lee. “This is the go-to spot for knitting,â€? said Kat Tapia. “They have Knit Nights on Thursdays and Spin Days on Saturdays.
